Companies Using NordPass

Password managers live inside browsers and laptops, so a crawl can't watch anyone use one. NordPass Business leaves a trace anyway. When an admin wants to stop staff opening personal accounts with a work address, or wants the Data Breach Scanner to watch the company's domain, NordPass asks for a TXT record at the root domain, nordpass-domain-verification= followed by a code, as its support article on verified domains explains. Our October 2026 crawl finds that record on 4,538 domains. We matched 4,165 of the 4,572 in our clean live set to a company, a 91.1% match rate, which is what you'd expect when the domains belong to operating businesses.

What the record proves

It proves an account: someone with admin rights in NordPass Business verified the domain. It doesn't prove how many people use the vault, and it misses every customer that never verified a domain. Domain reservation is available on any Business tier, and the Data Breach Scanner covers one domain on the Business plan and up to ten on Enterprise, per NordPass's pricing page. I checked the floor against the vendor's own list. NordPass names seven customers on its case-study page, and four carry the record: Anywr, Nutriset, CORT and Hostinger. Cloudvisor doesn't, Esken's domain no longer resolves, and I couldn't confirm which domain belongs to Barclay Chemicals.

Sales signal: treat 4,538 as a floor. NordPass's business page claims 11,500+ companies. Our list is the part of that base whose admins verified a domain, and domain reservation exists to pull staff into the company account, so a verified domain points to a managed rollout.

Growth trajectory

The chart reads 3,611 domains in June, 4,124 in July, 4,211 in August, 4,434 in September and 4,538 in October, a 25.67% rise in four months. Some of that is us. The set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead domains dropping out and new ones added, and our detection widens over time, so a count like this climbs even in a quiet month. Exits are the steadier signal. Only 67 domains have lost the record since we began tracking it in March 2026, 1.48% of today's count, and 63 of those removed it entirely. Our records first show the NordPass record in October 2024, before the chart begins.

Sales signal: sell this as a stable, identifiable segment. A record that rarely disappears tells you who committed to NordPass, even if it says less about when.

Who the customers are

Small teams first. 37.2% of matched companies with a known headcount have 11 to 50 employees and 32.59% have one to ten, so 69.79% (2,874 of 4,118) sit at 50 or fewer. On 1Password's profile the same two bands add up to 61.41%, so NordPass's base is the smaller of the two. That matches how NordPass prices: Teams comes as a 10-user pack at $1.79 per user a month on a two-year plan, and Business starts at five users for $3.59. Age surprised me more. Nord Security's timeline dates NordPass to 2019, yet 32.65% of matched companies with a known founding year (1,095 of 3,354) started before 2000, and the 2010s lead with only 34.76%.

The large accounts are real. Seagate, Beiersdorf, Cadent Gas, Odido and Woolworth's German business all carry the record, and 125 matched companies employ more than 1,000 people. At that size a verified domain tells you the company holds a NordPass Business account. It doesn't tell you whether one department or the whole workforce uses it.

Sales signal: the person who added this record is an owner or admin of the NordPass account, most often at a company of 50 or fewer staff. Lead with time saved on onboarding, offboarding and audits, which is how NordPass sells its own Admin Panel.

Industries and countries

IT Services and IT Consulting leads at 11.39%, then software development (5.56%), advertising services (5.03%) and financial services (3.41%). With the two other technology labels the cluster reaches 22.46%, and some of those IT firms may be resellers: NordPass lists an MSP programme on its site. Past that cluster the spread is wide, with non-profits at 3.04% and construction at 2.86%. Geography sets NordPass apart from 1Password too. The United States has 1,352 matched companies, 32.46% of the base, against 39.46% on 1Password's profile. The United Kingdom (565), Australia (293), Germany (288), Canada (270) and the Netherlands (248) follow, and Lithuania has 84, ninth, ahead of Belgium and Switzerland. The Lithuanian rows include Hostinger and the national broadcaster LRT.

Sales signal: European outreach pays on this list. Germany, the Netherlands, France and Italy hold 775 matched companies between them, more than half the American total, so a campaign localised for those four markets reaches a real share of the base.

Rivals and switching

The fair comparison is 1Password, because it asks business customers to publish the same kind of verification record. This month's table puts 1Password's on 22,538 domains, 4.97 times NordPass's count. Duo Security's single sign-on record is on 22,255, but Duo protects logins rather than storing passwords. Bitwarden, Keeper, LastPass and Dashlane leave nothing we detect, so I can't size them. That's also why we don't publish a NordPass market share: our Identity & Access table is led by Facebook Login (617,483 domains) and Google Sign-in (251,406), buttons on websites.

Switching barely registers. Of the 63 domains that removed the NordPass record since March, 4 now carry 1Password's and 1 carries Duo's, and one NordPass domain dropped 1Password's record. Overlap is low as well: only 62 of the 4,573 domains with the NordPass record also carry 1Password's. Companies seem to pick one vault.

Sales signal: a competitor won't find a migration wave here. The accounts worth watching are the 62 NordPass domains that also carry 1Password's record.

The stack around it

Percentages here are of the 4,572 live domains in our clean set. Microsoft 365 handles mail on 51.27% and Google Workspace on 27.25%. That split matters for NordPass's own upsell. Its pricing page puts sign-in with Google Workspace on every Business tier, while sign-in with Entra ID, ADFS or Okta needs Enterprise at $5.39 per user a month. On the web side, WordPress builds 46.15% of the sites and Google Analytics runs on 67.13%. HubSpot is on 15.97% and Salesforce on 4.59%.

Sales signal: half the base runs Microsoft 365, so identity and device-management tools that plug into Entra ID have the larger pool here. For NordPass's own sellers, those 51.27% are the Enterprise upgrade list.
