Companies Using Lucky Orange

Most writing about session recorders asks which one to pick. Lucky Orange's numbers in our September 2026 crawl answer a more useful question: who buys it. A domain counts when its pages load Lucky Orange's script, carry a resource hint for a luckyorange.com host, or set its site id; in the sample we checked, no page matched on the hint alone. On 30 random live pages that loaded, 28 ran Lucky Orange. That gives 26,413 live domains, 11,605 of them matched to a company, 6th of 34 in Heatmaps & Session Recording.

A Shopify app first

Shopify runs on 64.89% of Lucky Orange domains and Shop Pay on 46.21%. On Hotjar's domains Shopify is 10.11%, per its profile, and on Mouseflow's 10.26%. The reason is on the Shopify App Store, where Lucky Orange Heatmaps & Replay has been listed since July 2014. It installs without code and adds the store's myshopify.com name to the script address. That doesn't make Lucky Orange the biggest recorder on Shopify. Hotjar alone runs on 44,565 Shopify domains, more than twice Lucky Orange's 17,065. What's unusual is how much of Lucky Orange's business depends on one platform.

Sales signal: a Lucky Orange list is a Shopify merchant list with a CRO habit. Shopify agencies and app developers will get more from it than B2B SaaS sellers.

Flat since July

The chart reads 21,871 in June, 26,666 in July, 26,383 in August and 26,413 in September. The June step is our crawl covering more of the web, and the domain set turns over every month. Only 8.37% of live domains were first seen in August or September. 6,452 domains dropped Lucky Orange since March 2026. Counting only domains where it vanished from every page, about 18 of every 100 domains we've seen with Lucky Orange no longer carry it, against about 16 for Mouseflow. Store closures are part of that, and we can't separate them from removals.

Sales signal: the total holds steady while individual stores come and go. Refresh any Lucky Orange list before a campaign, because closed stores go stale quickly.

Who the customers are

56.79% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees, and 84.06% have 50 or fewer. 22.46% were founded in the 2020s. Few of the named companies above 1,000 staff are stores: Cohesity and Panduit use it on corporate sites, Ardent Health on its jobs site, Fort Worth and Westminster City Council on public websites. By country, the United States has 6,384 matched companies, then the United Kingdom (942), Australia (614) and Canada (593). Germany has 184. About 1,000 domains (3.9%) are small-business websites hosted by Thryv, each with its own site id, so they're real customers who came through one platform. In the domains where we could read site ids, 5,627 domains shared 5,071 of them, close to one site per account.

Sales signal: the typical buyer is a founder or a one-person e-commerce team. The enterprise names are real but atypical, so don't build a segment around them.

Why pay when Clarity is free?

A Reddit thread asking whether Lucky Orange is worth paying for ranks on six of the nine searches we pulled for this page. Microsoft Clarity is free with no traffic limits, and 4,714 Lucky Orange domains (17.93%) run it too. Since March, 1,189 domains that dropped Lucky Orange now run Clarity and 249 went the other way, a real lean. But domains that ran both dropped Lucky Orange at almost exactly the rate of Lucky Orange domains in general, and 70.3% of domains ever seen with both still run both. Hotjar is similar: 215 domains went from Lucky Orange to Hotjar, 125 the other way, and 74.7% of the pairs are intact.

Sales signal: a merchant running both has already decided the free tool isn't enough on its own. A competing recorder has to win on Shopify features, because a lower price is a weak pitch to stores already paying beside a free tool.

The store stack

Klaviyo runs on 32.68% of Lucky Orange domains, Mailchimp on 8.79% and Omnisend on 4.29%. Judge.me is on 21.43%, Loox on 6.04% and Instafeed on 12.38%. Facebook Pixel is on 61.71% and TikTok Pixel on 16.34%. WordPress is on 14.98% and WooCommerce on 3.18%, the non-Shopify minority.

Sales signal: Klaviyo is missing from about two in three Lucky Orange domains. For a Klaviyo partner, the Shopify stores among them are the opening.

What merchants pay and say

On luckyorange.com (29 September 2026) there's no free plan, just a 7-day trial; Build costs $32 a month billed annually for 3,500 sessions, Grow $72 for 10,000, Expand $199 and Scale $839, and every plan has every feature. The Shopify listing adds a Free plan of 100 sessions and a $19 Launch plan, and rates the app 4.7 from 887 reviews, 768 of them five stars. One recent review describes a bot spike billed as sessions, the weak spot of any metered recorder.

Sales signal: the pain point to ask about is overage billing after a traffic spike. A recorder that filters bots before counting sessions has a clear pitch to these stores.
