Companies Using Wix eCommerce

Our database tracks 1,078,931 domains carrying Wix eCommerce, including Claire's, the University of Hong Kong, Douglas Elliman, Nutanix, Internet Brands, Circana and the University of Vermont. Below you'll find the full list of companies using Wix eCommerce with market share, industry breakdowns and geographic data across 916,510 enriched company profiles.

An important caveat before any of these numbers are used. Wix eCommerce is a module of the Wix platform, not a separate product a merchant buys. We detect it on roughly 83% of all Wix sites, which is close to the rate at which Wix ships it. Read 1,078,931 as "Wix sites carrying the commerce module" rather than "1.08 million online stores". The industry mix below makes the same point far more clearly than the headline number does.

Wix eCommerce Usage Statistics

We currently detect Wix eCommerce on 1,078,931 active domains, and our coverage of it begins recently: it entered our detection set as a distinct technology only in 2026, so there is no long historical series for it the way there is for Shopify or WooCommerce. What history exists tracks the Wix platform itself, since the two move together. As with every count on this site, the set of domains we crawl turns over every month, so a figure from one period is not a like-for-like measurement of another. Churn we observe directly is 43,649 domains since March 2026, about 4% of the base.

Our verified list of companies carrying Wix eCommerce on TechnologyChecker.io includes Claire's, the University of Hong Kong, Douglas Elliman, Nutanix, Internet Brands, Circana, Max Mara Fashion Group and the University of Vermont. As with the industry data, treat this as a list of notable Wix sites rather than a list of notable online stores, several of these organisations run a Wix property with the commerce module present and no storefront in use.

Here are recognizable organisations carrying Wix eCommerce that our crawler currently detects:

  • Claire's - the international accessories retailer, on claires.com
  • University of Hong Kong - on presidentoffice.hku.hk
  • Douglas Elliman - US real estate brokerage
  • Nutanix - enterprise cloud vendor
  • Max Mara Fashion Group - Italian fashion group
  • Internet Brands and Circana - digital media and market research
  • University of Vermont - alumni property

Each is a live detection of the module rather than confirmation that the organisation sells through it. Claire's and Max Mara are genuine retailers; a university president's office is not.

Which Countries Use Wix eCommerce the Most?

Which countries use Wix eCommerce the most? The United States leads with 39.5% of companies whose country we know (330,805), followed by the United Kingdom at 11.5% (96,168), Brazil at 6.3% (52,940), Canada at 5.4% and Australia at 4.7%. English-speaking markets account for 62.3% of the base and Europe for 31.4%. Brazil's third place mirrors the parent platform exactly, Wix has an unusually strong Brazilian presence, and it is the largest non-English market here by some distance.

Wix eCommerce Market Share Among Ecommerce Platforms

What is Wix eCommerce's market share? It holds 16.53% of the ecommerce platform category, ranking #3 behind Shopify (34.42%) and WooCommerce (22.42%), and just ahead of Squarespace Commerce (15.59%). That ranking should be read with care. Wix eCommerce and Squarespace Commerce are both bundled modules counted wherever the builder ships them, while Shopify is a platform someone chooses and pays for specifically. Comparing the four as though they measure the same thing overstates the bundled pair and understates Shopify.

Wix eCommerce Customers by Company Size & Age

What size companies carry Wix eCommerce? 77.9% have 1-10 employees and another 16.92% have 11-50, putting 94.82% under fifty people. That is the second-most micro-business-concentrated base in this category, behind only Ecwid. It follows directly from the parent platform: Wix sells to solo operators and very small businesses, and the commerce module comes along with the site whether or not the owner ever opens a shop.

What Industries Use Wix eCommerce the Most?

This is the most revealing section on the page. Construction leads at 4.74%, followed by Business Consulting and Services (4.66%), Individual and Family Services (2.87%), Medical Practices (2.69%) and Retail in fifth place at 2.69%. On a genuine ecommerce platform retail dominates: it is 16.57% on Shopify and 26.2% on PrestaShop. Here it barely registers. That is the clearest evidence that this count measures a bundled module rather than a population of shops, the industry mix is Wix's, not commerce's.

Construction36,253 (4.74%)
Business Consulting and Services35,655 (4.66%)
Individual and Family Services21,974 (2.87%)
Medical Practices20,599 (2.69%)
Retail20,571 (2.69%)
Advertising Services18,372 (2.4%)

Construction firms (4.74%) and consultancies (4.66%) top the list, with family services (2.87%) and medical practices (2.69%) close behind and retail only fifth. Contractors, consultants and clinics are not ecommerce businesses, and their presence at the top of an ecommerce platform's industry table is a measurement artefact of bundling rather than a statement about them. If you want the population that actually sells on Wix, the industry mix here will not identify it; the ordering is inherited wholesale from the Wix platform's own customer base.

Wix eCommerce Alternatives & Competitors

Wix eCommerce sits third in the category at 16.53%, but its true competitive set is narrower than the table suggests. Against Shopify (34.42%) and WooCommerce (22.42%) it competes only for the small end, and its nearest true analogue is Squarespace Commerce (15.59%), which is bundled the same way and sized almost identically. The migration data is where the real comparison lives: Wix eCommerce is net-negative against both Shopify and Squarespace Commerce, and the sites it loses are the ones that were actually selling.

Wix eCommerce Customer Migration

Since our crawler began tracking it in March 2026, Wix eCommerce has gained 1,459 domains and lost 1,921, a net of −462. The two corridors that matter both run against it: Shopify took 828 domains and returned 543, and Squarespace Commerce took 540 against 439 returned. Against WooCommerce the exchange is almost exactly even, 449 in against 444 out. The pattern is consistent with the bundling caveat above: the sites leaving are the minority that were genuinely running a shop and outgrew a module, while the large bundled majority never moves because it was never really selling.

Tech Stack of Wix eCommerce-Powered Websites

Based on a 5% sample of the 1,078,931 domains carrying Wix eCommerce, the stack is almost entirely the Wix platform itself. React appears on 98.35% and Google Cloud CDN on 84.96%, every Wix site is a React application served from Google's infrastructure, so neither number reflects a decision anyone made about commerce. Of the tools owners actually add, Google Analytics reaches 26.55%, the lowest of any major platform in this category and well under half of BigCommerce's 74.9%. Third-party tooling is otherwise almost absent. For a population of supposed online stores, that is a very quiet stack, and it points the same way as the industry data.

Expert Analysis: Wix eCommerce Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

Mehmet Suleyman
Mehmet SuleymanCEO & Co-founder, TechnologyChecker

With 10+ years in web crawling and technographic data analysis, I've examined Wix eCommerce's dataset of 411,241 active domains matched against 191,198 enriched company profiles (a 46.5% match rate). Here's what the data reveals for sales teams, marketers, and analysts tracking the ecommerce platform market.

Growth Trajectory: Rapid Rise, Early Warning Signs

Wix eCommerce went from 38 active domains in 2013 to a peak of 411,407 in April 2025. Two growth surges stand out: late 2016 (an 8x jump in one month when Wix committed to ecommerce) and late 2022 (from 171K to 260K as expanded detection kicked in). But since April 2025, active domains dropped to 383K by July 2025. That 7% decline in three months could signal market saturation for DIY ecommerce builders or increased competition from Shopify's starter plans.

Sales Signal: The recent decline creates an opening. Wix eCommerce users who joined during the 2022-2024 growth wave are now 1-3 years in and may be re-evaluating. Time-based targeting ("companies that adopted Wix eCommerce in the last 2 years") can identify accounts in their evaluation window.

Customer Profile: The Micro-Business Core

The size distribution tells a clear story. 90.4% of Wix eCommerce customers have 1-10 employees, the highest micro-business concentration of any major ecommerce platform. Compare that to Shopify at roughly 55% SMB. Add the age data: 42.8% were founded in the 2010s, 35% in the 2020s. These are young, small businesses, not established retailers. The top industry is Business Consulting (5.21%), not Retail (2.72%), which is unusual for an ecommerce platform and suggests many users sell services or digital products rather than physical goods.

Sales Signal: Don't target Wix eCommerce users with enterprise messaging. They're solopreneurs and micro-businesses. Lead with affordable pricing, simplicity, and growth-stage language. "You've built your first store. Here's how to get to 100 orders/month" resonates better than feature comparisons. The consulting-heavy vertical also means digital product and course-selling tools are a strong upsell angle.

Industry and Geographic Concentration

The US leads at 37.7%, but Wix eCommerce is less US-concentrated than Shopify (roughly 53%). The UK (10.5%) and Brazil (5.6%) are strong secondary markets, with Brazil's share notably high for a platform headquartered in Israel. France (4.2%) and India (2.4%) round out the top six. Industry-wise, the top 10 verticals each hold between 2.1% and 5.2%, with no single industry dominating. Business Consulting, Construction, and Wellness form the top three, a very different profile from Shopify's retail and fashion focus.

Sales Signal: Geo-target the UK and Brazil for Wix eCommerce outreach, where competition from Shopify-focused vendors is lower. Industry-specific campaigns for consulting (5.21%), construction (3.85%), and wellness (2.80%) will hit the largest addressable segments. Avoid retail-only messaging; most Wix eCommerce users aren't traditional retailers.

Migration Patterns: The Stepping-Stone Effect

Migration data reveals Wix eCommerce's role as a transitional platform. It gains most from WooCommerce (9,574 companies switched in), users who tried self-hosted ecommerce and chose managed simplicity instead. But it loses most to Shopify (9,762 companies left), with 1,633 departures in the last year alone. The Ecwid corridor is balanced: 2,795 arrived from Ecwid, 1,850 left for it. This "stepping stone" pattern, gaining from open-source and losing to scaled platforms, defines the Wix eCommerce lifecycle.

Sales Signal: Recently churned Wix eCommerce users (those who left for Shopify) are high-value prospects. They've decided to invest more in ecommerce. If you sell Shopify apps, migration services, or competing tools, filter for "former Wix eCommerce users" in the last 12 months. Conversely, the WooCommerce-to-Wix pipeline identifies users who value simplicity over power and respond to managed-service pitches.

Tech Stack Ecosystem: The All-in-One Gap

Wix eCommerce users adopt far fewer third-party tools than Shopify or WooCommerce users. Google Analytics leads at just 7.45% (compared to 30%+ on Shopify). Facebook Pixel sits at 3.15%, and the highest marketing automation overlap is MailerLite at 1.03%. The RequireJS figure (23.78%) is Wix's own bundling, not a user decision. Tidio leads live chat at 1.22%. This low adoption signals either platform satisfaction (Wix does enough natively) or low sophistication (users don't know they need additional tools).

Sales Signal: The low third-party adoption is an opportunity, not a ceiling. Wix eCommerce users who do run Google Analytics (7.45%) or Facebook Pixel (3.15%) are more sophisticated than average and likely to convert on premium add-ons. Filter for these tech stack signals to find the top 5-10% of prospects. For the remaining 90%+, lead with education-first content ("3 tools every Wix store needs") rather than direct pitches.

G2 Review Signals

I've cross-referenced our crawl data with G2 reviews, and the patterns align. Users consistently praise ease of use (87 mentions), which tracks with the adoption patterns we see in our detection data. The most cited pain point? expensive pricing (24 mentions). For teams evaluating this technology, this G2 sentiment data is worth factoring into your assessment.

Key Takeaways

  • 411,241 active domains, but declining from April 2025 peak. Monitor closely.
  • 90.4% micro-businesses (1-10 employees). The most extreme small-business concentration in ecommerce.
  • Stepping-stone platform: gains from WooCommerce (9,574), loses to Shopify (9,762).
