Companies Using Contentstack
Our November 2026 crawl finds 2,657 domains using Contentstack, the headless CMS. A headless CMS stores content and hands it to a separate front end through an API, so most of its work never reaches the browser. What does reach it is the asset host: a domain counts when its page shows an image served from a Contentstack host such as images.contentstack.io or eu-images.contentstack.com, or when its scripts name a contentstack.com host. Below is the list of companies that use Contentstack, with size, country, industry and stack.
The count is domains, and large companies own many. We removed 200 before counting (see How We Counted, below), yet in a random sample of 37 we re-requested on 6 November 2026, 20 still forwarded to another domain: country variants, acquired brands and campaign domains. 28 of the 37 showed a Contentstack asset host on the page they landed on. Mattel, MongoDB, Philips, Reckitt, Wegmans and 7-Eleven all served Contentstack images that day.
Contentstack holds 0.02% of CMS & Website Builders, a category led by site builders that a browser sees directly. Treat the count as a floor: a site that pulls Contentstack content on the server and serves images from its own CDN leaves no trace for us.

Contentstack Usage Statistics
The chart has one point, 2,657 domains in November 2026, because the cleaned count starts with this crawl; the duplicate and alias removals weren't applied to earlier months, so we don't chart them. It wouldn't be a same-domain series anyway: the set of domains we crawl turns over every month and our detection widens. Since tracking began on 16 March 2026, 323 domains dropped Contentstack entirely, with no subdomain still running it. Read that as turnover as much as lost customers.

Which Countries Use Contentstack the Most?
Which countries use Contentstack the most? The United States, with 617 of the 1,234 companies we matched (50%), then the United Kingdom (82), Germany (73), Australia (51), the Netherlands (40), France (33) and Canada (31). Europe shows in the hosting too. Of the 28 sites in our sample that served Contentstack images, 13 used the AWS Europe host and 8 the North American one, with 5 on Azure North America and one each on Google Cloud and the Australian host.
Share of the 1,234 Contentstack domains we matched to a company record — 46.4% of the 2,657 we detect. Top 15 countries shown, so these do not sum to 100%. Domains with no matching company record are not represented here and skew small and independent.
Contentstack Market Share Among CMS & Website Builders
What is Contentstack's market share? 0.02% of CMS & Website Builders on our crawl at TechnologyChecker.io: 2,657 of the 16,290,261 domains in the category's listed rows. The rows that lead it are site builders, WordPress at 61.46%, Wix at 8.93% and Squarespace at 6.63%, and a browser sees those on every page. A headless CMS leaves a fainter trace, so this share measures visibility as much as use.
Top Competitors by Market Share
Contentstack Customers by Company Size & Age
What size companies use Contentstack? Both ends. 27.41% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 23.97% have 11 to 50, yet 218 have more than 1,000 staff (111 with 1,001 to 5,000, 43 with 5,001 to 10,000 and 64 above that), 18.8% of the total. Large firms often run it on one property: HP on its Printables site, Costco on its pharmacy site, Ericsson on its Cradlepoint pages, EPAM and Cartier on their careers sites.
Company Size Distribution
Company Age (Founded Decade)
22.54% of matched companies with a founding year started in the 2010s, but the next largest group was founded before 1960 (20.52%), and 39.59% were founded before 1990. Only 7.95% date from the 2020s. That's an old base for a headless product. It fits the buyers on this page: insurers, retailers and manufacturers rebuilding long-standing sites, not startups picking a first CMS.
What Industries Use Contentstack the Most?
Insurance leads with 104 companies (21.36%), then Retail (97, 19.92%) and Financial Services (64, 13.14%), based on our enriched company data. Add Banking (30) and money businesses make up 198 of the 487 companies in the top ten industries. Manufacturing and Machinery Manufacturing follow at 8.01% and 7.6%. For a CMS, that's a regulated, brand-heavy customer list.
Insurance companies using Contentstack include Assurant, a.s.r. and Old Mutual, all serving images from Contentstack hosts when we checked. Retailers on Contentstack include Costco, Wegmans, 7-Eleven, Chico's, New Look and the French furniture chain BUT. Manufacturers using Contentstack include Mattel, Reckitt and Ingersoll Rand, whose site loads images from Contentstack's Azure North America host.
Contentstack Alternatives & Competitors
The rivals in this table are the category's largest rows, and they are site builders: WordPress (61.46%), Wix (8.93%), Squarespace (6.63%) and GoDaddy Website Builder (3.25%). Contentstack's real peers are other headless and enterprise systems, such as Contentful, Sanity and Adobe Experience Manager. Each is detected from different traces, so their counts don't compare directly.

Contentstack Customer Migration
We observed a few domain-level switches since tracking began, with the last 30 and 90 days in brackets. The largest is 29 domains that dropped Contentstack while gaining Adobe Experience Manager (0, 28). Because all but one fall between 30 and 90 days ago, they may be a few organisations moving several domains each; we haven't checked which. The other way, 37 domains went from WordPress to Contentstack (6, 19), 7 from Drupal and 5 from TYPO3. Against 2,657 domains, these are small numbers.

How We Counted Contentstack Sites
A domain counts here when its page has an image whose address is on a Contentstack asset host (.contentstack.io/ or .contentstack.com/), or when its scripts name a contentstack.com host. Contentstack's image delivery documentation lists one host per hosting region, such as images.contentstack.io for AWS North America and eu-images.contentstack.com for AWS Europe.
Our raw November count was 2,858 domains. Our standard title filter removed 1 for-sale or gambling page. We then removed 200 more, for three reasons:
- 113 www. duplicates: a
www.address counted separately from the same site's bare domain. - 84 alias domains: extra domains that forward to one company's main site. Four groups (30, 25, 18 and 15 domains sharing a page title) were each reduced to the company's main domain.
- 3 domains that weren't customer sites: two pages that only carried one image copied from another company's Contentstack account inside their JavaScript, and a typo domain that forwarded through an affiliate link.
That leaves 2,657, which every chart and table on this page uses. Aliases remain, because many companies run real sites on several domains: in a random 37 we re-requested on 6 November 2026, 20 forwarded to another domain, 6 blocked our requests and 2 no longer worked. The rule can't see sites that serve Contentstack images from their own CDN, so the count is also a floor.
Expert Analysis: Contentstack Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

I check our detection rules against live pages, and Contentstack's is a rule about images. A domain counts when an image on its page comes from one of Contentstack's asset hosts, or when its scripts name a contentstack.com host. Our raw November 2026 crawl had 2,858; after removing duplicates, aliases and three pages that weren't customer sites, 2,657 domains remain, and 1,234 match a company. On 6 November 2026 I re-requested a random sample, 37 of which are still on the list.
What the rule sees
Contentstack's image delivery documentation lists one host per region: images.contentstack.io for AWS North America, and contentstack.com hosts for AWS Europe and Australia, Azure and Google Cloud. 28 of the 37 showed one of them: 13 on the AWS Europe host, 8 on AWS North America, 5 on Azure North America and one each on Google Cloud and Australia. The script clause only matches the .com hosts, so a North American site that serves its images through its own CDN is invisible to us.
Sales signal: the asset host tells you the hosting region before you ask, which matters for data-residency and integration conversations.
Aliases and noise
Before counting we removed 113 www. duplicates and collapsed four alias groups, the largest 30 domains sharing one title. Aliases remain: 20 of the 37 forwarded to another domain. The script rule also matched two pages that had pasted a single image from someone else's Contentstack account into their JavaScript; we removed those. 6 of the 37 blocked our requests.
Sales signal: count companies, not domains. The 2,657 domains collapse into far fewer buying teams.
Who runs it
The matched companies are old and regulated. Insurance (21.36%), retail (19.92%) and financial services (13.14%) lead the industries, and 39.59% were founded before 1990. Large firms often use it for one property: HP for Printables, Costco for its pharmacy site, Ericsson for its Cradlepoint pages, EPAM and Cartier for careers sites. Next.js shows on 54.54% of the domains.
Sales signal: a Next.js front end on a Contentstack site means a recent rebuild. Those teams buy search, personalisation and front-end services around it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who uses Contentstack?
On our data, mostly established companies in insurance, retail and financial services. Brands that served Contentstack images when we checked on 6 November 2026 include Mattel, MongoDB, Philips, Costco, Reckitt, Wegmans, 7-Eleven and Assurant. Large firms often run it on one property, such as HP's Printables site, Costco's pharmacy site or Ericsson's Cradlepoint pages.
How many customers does Contentstack have?
We count 2,657 domains in our November 2026 crawl, after removing 113 www. duplicates, 84 alias domains and 3 non-customer pages, and 1,234 of them match a company. Domains still aren't customers: in a random 37 we re-checked, 20 forwarded to another domain. The count is also a floor, because sites that serve Contentstack images through their own CDN leave no trace.
What is Contentstack's market share?
Contentstack holds 0.02% of CMS & Website Builders on TechnologyChecker.io, 2,657 of the 16,290,261 domains in the category's listed rows. WordPress leads at 61.46%, then Wix at 8.93% and Squarespace at 6.63%, all site builders a browser sees directly. A headless CMS is mostly hidden from the browser, so the share understates its use.
What are the best alternatives to Contentstack?
Our category table is led by WordPress, Wix, Squarespace and GoDaddy Website Builder, but those are site builders. Teams choosing a headless or enterprise CMS usually compare Contentful, Sanity, Adobe Experience Manager and Sitecore. On our data, 29 domains moved from Contentstack to Adobe Experience Manager and 6 to Sanity since March 2026, small numbers next to 2,657.
Which countries use Contentstack the most?
The United States, with 617 of the 1,234 companies we matched, then the United Kingdom (82), Germany (73), Australia (51), the Netherlands (40) and France (33). Europe also shows in the hosting: of 28 sampled sites serving Contentstack images, 13 used its AWS Europe host and 8 its North American host.
What size companies use Contentstack?
Both small and very large. 27.41% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 23.97% have 11 to 50, but 218 have more than 1,000 staff, 18.8% of the total. The large ones include Mattel, MongoDB, Philips, Costco and Wegmans, often on one site rather than every property they own.
How old are companies that use Contentstack?
Older than you might expect for a headless CMS. 22.54% of matched companies with a founding year started in the 2010s, but 20.52% were founded before 1960 and 39.59% before 1990. Only 7.95% started in the 2020s. The base is established insurers, retailers and manufacturers rebuilding their sites.
What is the ideal customer profile for Contentstack?
On our data, an established company in insurance, retail or financial services, based in the US, the UK or Germany, whose site was rebuilt on Next.js (54.54% of domains) and runs Google Tag Manager (79.75%). Size varies: about half have 50 or fewer staff, while 18.8% have more than 1,000.
How much does Contentstack cost?
Contentstack's pricing page, checked on 6 November 2026, lists a Free plan at $0 a month with 3 users, a Build plan at $29 a month for going live on your own domain, a Growth plan at $299 a month with 10 users and an Enterprise plan with custom pricing. Paid tiers add API capacity, users and AI credits.
Who owns Contentstack?
Contentstack describes itself as founder-led. Its about page lists Neha Sampat as CEO and Nishant Patel as CTO, and names Insight Partners, Illuminate Ventures, Georgian Partners and Ginger Bread Capital among its investors. The company lists offices in Austin, Texas and Mumbai, India.
Is Contentstack a headless CMS?
Yes. Contentstack sells a headless CMS as part of its Content Cloud, delivering content through APIs to whatever front end a team builds. Our data shows what those front ends are: Next.js runs on 54.54% of Contentstack domains and Gatsby on 12.83%, and Vercel Analytics appears on 7.72%.
How can you tell if a website uses Contentstack?
Look in the page source or network panel for image or asset URLs on a Contentstack host, usually with a /v3/assets/ path: images.contentstack.io, eu-images.contentstack.com, azure-na-images.contentstack.com or another regional host. That is what our rule reads. One copied image isn't proof, and a site that proxies images through its own CDN may show no trace at all.
Why do so many Contentstack domains redirect to other sites?
Because large companies own many domains. We collapsed four big alias groups and 113 www. duplicates before counting, but in a random 37 from the remaining list, 20 still forwarded elsewhere: country variants, acquired brands and campaign domains. Each one that lands on a Contentstack page counts as a domain, so the 1,234 matched companies is the better measure of buyers.
