A domain counts when a page carries Discuz!'s generator meta tag or defines its JavaScript variables, such as discuz_uid. Below is the list of companies using Discuz! Two very different groups share this count. Companies run Discuz! as an official community on a subdomain, and the count credits the parent domain: 34 of the 50 companies listed below run it on a subdomain, 26 of them bbs., forum. or community., including DJI, 360, Ruijie Networks and Sangfor. The independent side is rougher. Of 32 random domains in the count that we re-requested on 6 November 2026, 26 served Discuz!, and 8 of those were adult-content or escort-ad boards. We had already removed 166 mirror copies of eight adult boards (see How We Counted, below).

PHP appears on only 26.43% because we see it only when a header names it, though Discuz! is written in PHP.

How We Counted Discuz! X Sites
A domain counts here when a page carries Discuz!'s generator meta tag or defines one of its JavaScript variables, discuz_uid, discuzVersion or DISCUZCODE. Our raw November 2026 count was 2,437 domains. Our standard title filter removed 19 for-sale and gambling pages.
We then removed 182 more. 166 carried one of nine page titles that belong to eight adult boards, each copied across 9 to 32 domains, such as "AvCar成人论坛_老司机汇集地" (30 domains) and "優美之家論壇-精彩分享" (30). Each board is one operator rotating mirror domains, so counting every mirror would overstate how many sites run Discuz! X. 13 were www. entries that duplicated the same site's apex domain, and 3 were parked or repurposed domains: a parked lander, a redirect to a film site and a gambling sign-up page.
That leaves 2,236, which every chart and table on this page uses. Many independent adult and escort-ad boards remain, because each is a separate site that really runs Discuz!: of the 32 domains from our random sample still in the count, 26 served Discuz! on 6 November 2026, and 8 of those were adult-content or escort-ad boards.

The rule is sound: it reads Discuz!'s generator tag and JavaScript variables only Discuz! defines, such as discuz_uid. Our raw November 2026 count was 2,437 domains. After removing 201 (19 for-sale and gambling pages, 166 mirror copies, 13 www. duplicates and 3 parked or repurposed domains), 2,236 remain, and 215 match a company. On 6 November 2026 I re-requested a random 40 from the raw list.
What the random sample showed
8 of the 40 are now out of the count: 5 mirror copies and 3 dead or repurposed domains. Of the 32 left, 26 served Discuz!; four didn't answer, one sat behind a bot check and one couldn't be read from our location. Of the 26, 14 were mainstream communities and company forums, 4 were file, game or exam-answer sharing sites and 8 were adult-content or escort-ad boards.

The README adds two limits: modified versions may not be redistributed without permission, and X5.1 is a commercial edition with no open-source release. Who makes Discuz! X?
The Gitee README dates Discuz! to 2001. The official site, discuz.vip, says the platform is supported by people from Tencent's original Discuz! team and other developers, and lists Hefei Erdao Network Technology as its head office. The repository sits under the Discuz! Team account on Gitee, with an international mirror on GitHub.
What is the latest version of Discuz! X?
discuz.vip lists Discuz! X3.5 and X5.0 as current editions, and the Gitee README describes X5 as rebuilt on its MitFrame framework, needing PHP 8. Older boards dominate our data: of 22 boards in our 6 November sample that printed a version, 10 ran X3.4, 7 ran X3.5, 4 ran X3.2 or older and 1 ran X5.0.
Does Discuz! X work in English?
Yes, though the official Gitee edition is Simplified Chinese in UTF-8, per its repository description, with an international mirror on GitHub. Most boards we see are Chinese-language, but some brands run English communities on it: Dreame's US forum, Hollyland's community and UMIDIGI's community all served Discuz! on 6 November 2026.
Why do so many Discuz! X sites share the same page title?
Some boards were copied across many domains. In our November 2026 crawl, nine titles repeated on 9 to 32 domains each, 166 in all; the ones we checked were adult boards kept on numbered or random-looking mirror domains, and we removed them from the count. Another 44 domains show the bare default title "论坛 - Powered by Discuz!": real boards whose owners never set a site name.
