Companies Using jQuery UI

jQuery UI is the OpenJS Foundation's free set of widgets and interactions (date pickers, dialogs, drag and drop, sortable lists), released under the MIT license and built on jQuery, and our October 2026 crawl finds it on 5,108,595 domains. Most of the companies that use jQuery UI never picked it themselves. WordPress core ships it, and 75.94% of jQuery UI sites run WordPress. So we count sites, not customers. We matched 3,174,403 of them to a company, Apple's investor site, Starbucks, Bank of America and Siemens among them.

jQuery UI ranks #4 in JavaScript Libraries with a 5.81% share. Its team describes the project as being in a maintenance state: version 1.14.2 shipped in January 2026, security and compatibility fixes continue, and no significant new features are planned. In a sample of 245,942 domains, fewer than half (46.44%) ran the supported 1.14 line.

jQuery UI Usage Statistics

Our current crawl window counts 4,087,666 jQuery UI domains in June 2026, 4,704,353 in July, 4,787,136 in August, 5,051,628 in September and 5,108,595 in October. That 25% rise isn't a wave of new installs. Counts are not a like-for-like series: the set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and newly found ones added, and our detection signals widen over time. The June to July step of 616,687 domains reflects changes on our side, both the domains we cover and the signals we detect jQuery UI with. Exits are large too. 652,803 domains have dropped it on at least one hostname since we began tracking it on 16 March 2026; when we re-checked, 87,125 of the 653,270 domains then showing a drop still ran it on another hostname.

List of Companies Using jQuery UI

Our list of companies using jQuery UI shows 50 of the 3,174,403 companies we matched, ranked by LinkedIn following, so it leans to large enterprises. Among these brands that use jQuery UI, 13 were detected on an investor-relations subdomain. All nine Q4-built sites we could load (eight investor sites plus Albertsons' corporate site) reported jQuery UI 1.12.1, 1.13.2 or 1.14.1. Careers and community platforms come next: Disney's French careers site pulls 1.14.0 from the TalentBrew platform's CDN, and IBM's community site gets 1.13.3 through Higher Logic. When you check websites using jQuery UI at a large company, look at the detection URL first.

Which Countries Use jQuery UI the Most?

Which countries use jQuery UI the most? The United States, with 687,491 matched companies, 21.66% of the 3,174,403 we matched. Germany (245,672), the United Kingdom (201,516), Brazil (187,610) and India (165,641) follow, then France, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands, each above 115,000. The spread follows WordPress rather than a sales territory. jQuery UI has no vendor selling it, so it turns up wherever small businesses build sites.

jQuery UI Market Share Among JavaScript Libraries

What is jQuery UI's market share? 5.81% of JavaScript Libraries, ranking #4, on 5,108,595 domains, based on our live crawl at TechnologyChecker.io. The category counts every library a page loads, so jQuery UI is ranked next to the code it depends on. 5,054,781 domains run jQuery UI and jQuery today, all but 101 of the 5,054,882 live jQuery UI domains in our raw count. Read the share as a measure of how much of the web still carries a jQuery-era widget layer. Nobody is competing for buyers here.

jQuery UI Customers by Company Size & Age

What size companies use jQuery UI? Mostly very small ones. 63.4% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 23.22% have 11 to 50, so 86.62% (2,485,510 of 2,869,348) have 50 or fewer. The enterprise tail is big in absolute terms: 35,537 companies have more than 1,000 staff. At those companies jQuery UI usually sits on one property, such as Apple's investor site, Bank of America's branch locator or the US Postal Service's postage calculator.

Company Size Distribution

Company Age (Founded Decade)

The largest group of matched companies was founded in the 2010s (36.82%), then the 2020s (19.48%) and the 2000s (18.04%), so 56.3% date from 2010 or later. Older firms are a minority by share but not by number: 74,120 companies predate 1960. On our list that group includes Ford (founded 1903), on its Q4-built shareholder site, and Kroger (1883), whose corporate site runs WordPress.

What Industries Use jQuery UI the Most?

Construction leads at 4.15%, then Retail (3.76%), Business Consulting and Services (3.32%), Real Estate (3.31%) and IT Services and IT Consulting (3.29%), based on our enriched company data. The top ten industries add up to 28.9%, so seven in ten matched companies sit outside them. That's WordPress's small-business web: builders, shops, consultants and estate agents, whose theme or plugin chose jQuery UI for them.

Expert Analysis: jQuery UI Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

David Thomson
David ThomsonCTO, TechnologyChecker

I spend much of my time on what our detection rules can and cannot tell apart, and jQuery UI is a case where the count is real but the decision behind it rarely belongs to the site owner. As of our October 2026 crawl, TechnologyChecker.io finds jQuery UI on 5,108,595 domains, and we matched 3,174,403 of them to a company. Most of those sites didn't choose it. WordPress did, or a theme or plugin built for it.

What the rule sees

We count a domain when a page exposes the version number jQuery UI attaches to jQuery (jQuery.ui.version) or loads a script whose file name contains "jquery-ui". The first signal catches WordPress, which ships jQuery UI as separate files under /wp-includes/js/jquery/ui/. To see where installs come from, I opened a random sample in a browser and from the command line. Of the first ten domains that gave a clear answer, nine loaded jQuery UI from WordPress core and one, an online shop, served its own copy of version 1.10.3. None loaded it from a public CDN, although the jQuery CDN and Google Hosted Libraries both host every release. On four of the seven WordPress sites I checked in a browser, the only jQuery UI file on the page was core.min.js, the base module other scripts depend on.

Sales Signal: a jQuery UI detection identifies a WordPress-era site far more often than a team that writes jQuery UI code. Use it to size the WordPress small-business web, not to find front-end engineers.

Growth trajectory

Our current window runs from 4,087,666 domains in June 2026 to 5,108,595 in October, a 25% rise I wouldn't read as adoption. Counts are not a like-for-like series: the set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and newly found ones added, and our detection signals widen over time. Most of the rise came in one step, 616,687 domains between June and July. Exits are large in absolute terms. 652,803 domains have dropped jQuery UI on at least one hostname since we began tracking it on 16 March 2026. When I re-checked, 87,125 of the 653,270 domains then showing a drop still ran it on another hostname, so most exits are whole sites that were rebuilt without it or went offline.

"Almost nobody installs jQuery UI on purpose any more, and almost nobody removes it on purpose either. It arrives with WordPress and leaves when the site is rebuilt or shut down." - David Thomson, CTO at TechnologyChecker.io

Sales Signal: the base is huge and close to flat. Plan around rebuild and maintenance cycles on existing sites, and don't treat month-on-month movement as a buying signal.

The companies behind the domains

The matched base is small business. 63.4% of companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 86.62% have 50 or fewer. By founding year, 36.82% date from the 2010s and 19.48% from the 2020s. That's the profile of WordPress's customer base, not of a developer tool.

The enterprise tail, 35,537 companies above 1,000 staff, shows up on specific surfaces. Investor relations is the clearest: 13 of the 50 companies on our list were detected on an investor subdomain, and all nine Q4-built sites I could load, Apple's, Ford's and Uber's among them, reported jQuery UI 1.12.1, 1.13.2 or 1.14.1. Careers and community platforms are next. Disney's French careers site pulls 1.14.0 from the TalentBrew platform's CDN, and IBM's community site loads 1.13.3 through Higher Logic. Starbucks and the US Department of Veterans Affairs get it from Drupal core. The jQuery UI project publishes no customer list, so every company named on this page comes from our own detection.

Sales Signal: at a large company the jQuery UI decision usually sits with a vendor (an investor-relations, careers or community platform) or a CMS. Pitch the platform owner, not the company's engineering team.

Industry and geography

Construction leads the industry chart at only 4.15%, ahead of Retail (3.76%), Business Consulting and Services (3.32%) and Real Estate (3.31%). The top ten industries add up to 28.9%, so the base is about as horizontal as they come. Healthcare is a sizeable cluster once you combine Medical Practices (59,708 companies) and Hospitals and Health Care (50,040), 109,748 between them. The United States leads with 687,491 matched companies (21.66%), with Germany (245,672) a distant second.

Sales Signal: for agencies selling WordPress rebuilds or care plans, jQuery UI is a proxy for a WordPress install in almost any vertical and country. Filter by industry and country first, then use the version (below) to rank urgency.

Overlap, not switching

Our switching table for jQuery UI is empty, and it should be. jQuery UI needs jQuery, and 5,054,781 domains run both today, all but 101 of the 5,054,882 live jQuery UI domains in our raw count. The libraries that sit beside it behave the same way. Of 2,334,187 domains we have ever seen running jQuery UI with Swiper, 2,017,619 still run both; for Modernizr the figures are 956,658 and 833,367, and for Slick 729,656 and 614,378. None of those pairs is a migration. They're layers of the same WordPress theme.

"When 2,017,619 of the 2,334,187 sites that ever ran jQuery UI with Swiper still run both, there's no corridor to sell into. These libraries arrive together and leave together, with the theme." - David Thomson, CTO at TechnologyChecker.io

Sales Signal: don't pitch "replace jQuery UI" as a standalone project. The realistic event is a theme change or a site rebuild, and that's when the library goes.

The stack around it

Across the 5,027,831 live jQuery UI domains in our stack analysis, WordPress runs on 75.94% and Elementor on 56.99%. Bootstrap is on 26.42% and Google Analytics on 52.35%. Hosting reads like a small-business list: GoDaddy 11.54%, Hostinger 9.9%, IONOS 3.4%. Modern frameworks barely register, with React at 4.66%, Tailwind CSS at 4.6% and Vue.js at 4.07%.

Sales Signal: the 4.66% that run React next to jQuery UI are the interesting minority for front-end consultancies. Two generations of front-end code on one domain often means a stalled migration.

Version debt

The jQuery UI blog describes the project as being in a maintenance state: compatibility with new jQuery releases and security fixes, but no significant new features. Version 1.14.2 shipped on 28 January 2026, and the 1.13.x line stopped being supported when 1.14.0 came out on 5 August 2024. In a sample of 245,942 domains from our latest crawls (one in twenty of the domains we detected), 46.44% ran the 1.14 line, 29.46% ran 1.13 and 22.88% ran 1.12 or older. WordPress explains the top of that table. The WordPress 7.1.3 sites I opened load 1.14.2 from core, while a WordPress 5.8.1 site in the same sample still loads 1.12.1, a release from September 2016.

Sales Signal: the version is the useful filter. A site on jQuery UI 1.12 or older is often running an old WordPress core or a hand-built page nobody has touched in years, which makes it a candidate for security and maintenance work.

Key takeaways

  • 5,108,595 domains in October 2026, #4 in JavaScript Libraries with 5.81%, counted as sites rather than customers.
  • 75.94% run WordPress, and nine of the first ten sampled sites loaded jQuery UI from WordPress core.
  • The matched base is small business: 63.4% have 1 to 10 employees.

Targeting: on TechnologyChecker.io, filter jQuery UI, keep WordPress, then add the industries and size bands that match your price point.

Outreach: "Your site still loads jQuery UI 1.12.1, a 2016 release outside the project's support. We update WordPress sites like yours without changing what visitors see."

Competitive angle: the 4.66% of jQuery UI domains that also run React are maintaining two front ends. They're the natural audience for a single component library and a planned migration.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who uses jQuery UI?

Mostly small businesses on WordPress, plus a long enterprise tail. Our October 2026 crawl finds jQuery UI on 5,108,595 domains, and 75.94% of them run WordPress, whose core ships the library. 63.4% of matched companies have 1 to 10 employees. Named users include Apple on its investor site, Starbucks, Bank of America's branch locator, Siemens, IBM's community site and Vodafone's careers site.

How many customers does jQuery UI have?

jQuery UI is free, so it has users rather than customers. Our October 2026 crawl finds it on 5,108,595 domains, and we matched 3,174,403 of them to a company. Since tracking began in March 2026, 652,803 domains have dropped it on at least one hostname. When we re-checked, 87,125 of 653,270 such domains still ran it on another hostname.

What is jQuery UI's market share?

jQuery UI holds 5.81% of the JavaScript Libraries category and ranks #4, on 5,108,595 domains in our October 2026 crawl. The category counts every library a page loads, so the share shows how common jQuery UI is next to libraries like jQuery itself; it isn't a contest for buyers. 5,054,781 domains run jQuery UI and jQuery together today.

Which countries use jQuery UI the most?

The United States, with 687,491 matched companies, 21.66% of the 3,174,403 we matched. Germany (245,672), the United Kingdom (201,516), Brazil (187,610), India (165,641) and France (159,726) follow, and Spain, Italy and the Netherlands each have more than 115,000. The spread tracks where small businesses build on WordPress, because no vendor sells jQuery UI by region.

What size companies use jQuery UI?

Mostly very small ones. 63.4% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 23.22% have 11 to 50, so 86.62% have 50 or fewer. Large companies still number 35,537 above 1,000 staff, but they usually run jQuery UI on one property, such as an investor site, a careers site or a store locator, rather than across the company.

How old are companies that use jQuery UI?

Among matched companies with a known founding year, 36.82% were founded in the 2010s, 19.48% in the 2020s and 18.04% in the 2000s, so 56.3% date from 2010 or later. Older firms are a minority by share but large in number: 74,120 predate 1960. Many young companies inherit jQuery UI through a WordPress theme rather than choosing it.

What is the ideal customer profile for jQuery UI?

The ideal jQuery UI customer is: Company Size: 1-10 employees (63.4%), Location: US, then Germany, UK and Brazil, Founded: 2010 or later (56.3%), Industry: Construction, retail, consulting, real estate, Site Stack: WordPress (75.94%) with Elementor (56.99%) — based on our analysis of 3,174,403 enriched companies at TechnologyChecker.io.

What are the best alternatives to jQuery UI?

That depends on the job. Browsers now cover two of its most common widgets: the dialog element has worked across browsers since March 2022 and date inputs since April 2021, according to MDN. For drag and drop, sortable lists and richer components, React teams use component libraries such as Radix UI or Material UI instead. Only 4.66% of jQuery UI domains run React.

Is jQuery UI still supported?

Yes, in what its team calls a maintenance state. The jQuery UI blog says the team keeps it compatible with new jQuery releases and fixes security issues, but plans no significant new features. Version 1.14.2 shipped on 28 January 2026, tested against jQuery 4.0.0. The 1.13.x line stopped being supported when 1.14.0 came out on 5 August 2024.

Is jQuery UI obsolete?

Not on the live web. Our October 2026 crawl still finds it on 5,108,595 domains, largely because WordPress core ships it. For new projects it's a legacy choice, since the team plans no significant new features. In a sample of 245,942 domains, 46.44% ran the supported 1.14 line and 52.34% ran 1.13 or older, versions the team no longer supports.

What replaced jQuery UI?

No single library. Native HTML took over the simple widgets, with the dialog element and date inputs working across browsers since 2022 and 2021 according to MDN, and JavaScript frameworks brought their own component libraries. On the live web the change is slow: React runs on only 4.66% of jQuery UI domains, and 5,054,781 domains still run jQuery UI with jQuery.

Is jQuery UI free for commercial use?

Yes. jQuery UI is released under the MIT license by the OpenJS Foundation, and the foundation's license page says projects under it can be used in any other project, commercial ones included, as long as the copyright header stays intact. There is no paid tier. Most of the 5,108,595 domains where we detect it got it free with WordPress core.

What is the difference between jQuery and jQuery UI?

jQuery is the base library for selecting page elements, handling events and making requests. jQuery UI is a separate project built on top of it that adds widgets, interactions such as drag and drop, effects and themes. It needs jQuery to run, and our data shows that: 5,054,781 domains run both today, all but 101 of the live jQuery UI domains in our raw count.

What is jQuery UI used for?

Date pickers, dialogs, autocomplete fields, tabs, sliders, and drag-and-drop or sortable lists. On many sites it does far less. On four of the seven WordPress sites from our random sample that we opened in a browser, the only jQuery UI file on the page was core.min.js, the base module that a theme or plugin loads as a dependency of its own scripts.

Which version of jQuery UI do most sites run?

In a sample of 245,942 domains from our latest crawls, 46.44% ran the 1.14 line, 29.46% ran 1.13 and 22.88% ran 1.12 or older. The WordPress 7.1.3 sites we opened load 1.14.2, the current release, from core. Some large sites lag: three of the nine Q4-built sites we loaded still report 1.12.1, released in September 2016.
