Divi Wordpress Theme Usage Statistics

Divi entered our detection index in March 2026, so this chart covers six months rather than the theme's history since its December 2013 release. Active domains move from 682,310 in June to 766,049 in August 2026, and that slope reflects our crawl coverage widening rather than adoption: our corpus-wide detected footprint expanded over the same window. The durable finding is scale and stickiness. Divi is the second most-detected WordPress page builder, and only 41,176 domains have dropped it since tracking began, roughly 5.4% of the live base, which is low for a theme.

Which Countries Use Divi Wordpress Theme the Most?

Which countries use Divi the most? The United States leads with 161,328 companies (29.4%), but Europe is the real story. Germany (46,303), the United Kingdom (44,702), France (36,483), Spain (31,704) and the Netherlands (27,989) each exceed Canada (21,898), and European countries together account for over 41% of Divi's enriched base. Divi's long-running meetup community across Europe and its early multilingual support are the usual explanations. South Africa (9,003) is an unusually strong showing for a market that rarely reaches this table.

Divi Wordpress Theme Market Share Among CMS & Website Builders

What is Divi's market share? Divi is detected on 766,049 domains, making it the second most-used WordPress page builder behind Elementor (3,089,184) and ahead of wpBakery (343,747). We do not publish a conventional category share for Divi because the honest denominator is not obvious: Divi is a WordPress theme, so it competes for WordPress installs rather than for the whole website-builder market, and including it in the CMS category alongside WordPress itself would count the same site twice. Measured against the surface it can actually address, Divi runs on 8.05% of the 9.5M WordPress sites in our index, against Elementor's 32.45%.

Divi Wordpress Theme Customers by Company Size & Age

Is Divi only for small businesses? Overwhelmingly, yes. 70.88% of Divi customers have 1-10 employees and another 20.74% have 11-50, so 91.6% are micro-to-small businesses, based on 548,324 enriched companies. That is one of the most concentrated size distributions in our index. Enterprise names like Starbucks, Mercedes-Benz and Adobe do appear, but at 0.07% with 10,001+ employees and almost always on subdomain microsites, alumni portals or recruitment pages rather than primary corporate properties.

What Industries Use Divi Wordpress Theme the Most?

Construction leads at 5.73%, followed by Business Consulting and Services (3.97%) and Advertising Services (3.24%). No single industry exceeds 6%, confirming Divi as a horizontal tool that suits almost any small-business vertical. The shape of the tail is the interesting part: Medical Practices (2.91%), Individual and Family Services (2.54%), Real Estate (2.40%), Professional Training and Coaching (2.23%) and Wellness and Fitness Services (1.98%) are all local, service-based, appointment-driven businesses. Divi's customer is a company whose website is a brochure and a booking form, not a product.

Construction companies using Divi form the largest vertical at 5.73%; local contractors and renovation firms use the drag-and-drop builder for portfolio sites. Business consulting firms on Divi account for 3.97%, and advertising agencies using Divi a further 3.24%, many deploying it as a client delivery tool. The health and wellness cluster, medical practices (2.91%), individual and family services (2.54%) and wellness and fitness (1.98%), totals more than 7%.

Divi Wordpress Theme Alternatives & Competitors

The percentages below are calculated as a share of the 9.5M WordPress sites in our index rather than of the whole website-builder market, because every product here is a WordPress theme or plugin and can only be installed where WordPress already runs. On that basis Elementor leads at 32.45% (3,089,184 domains), with Divi second at 8.05% (766,049) and wpBakery third at 3.61% (343,747), the legacy Visual Composer successor now well behind. The newer developer-oriented builders remain small: Oxygen (42,913), Thrive Architect (22,259) and Breakdance (18,873) together account for under 1% of WordPress sites, though Breakdance is the only one where our switching data shows meaningful movement away from Divi relative to its size.

Divi Wordpress Theme Customer Migration

Divi's outflow has two distinct destinations. The large one stays on WordPress: 3,710 domains moved to Elementor, 1,383 of them in the last 30 days, a rate 4.8x higher than among sites that kept Divi and asymmetric at roughly 2 to 1 against the reverse flow. Note that a theme and a builder plugin can coexist, so many of these domains ran both during the transition; the direction and the lift are what identify it as a genuine move. The smaller flow leaves WordPress entirely, to Webflow (364), Adobe Experience Manager (176) and Framer Sites (158). Those three clear the base-rate test by the widest margins on this page, above 30x, because a Divi site has essentially no reason to be running Webflow unless it is migrating. Divi is net positive against wpBakery, gaining 334 domains and losing 156.

Tech Stack of Divi Wordpress Theme-Powered Websites

Divi's stack is almost entirely WordPress-native. Yoast SEO appears on 45.86% of Divi domains and RankMath on 9.81%, so well over half run a dedicated SEO plugin. Google Analytics reaches 51.98%, with Site Kit at 14.68% indicating that many owners connected analytics through the official WordPress plugin rather than by editing code, which fits the no-developer profile. WooCommerce at 12.01% means roughly one in eight Divi sites runs a store. Marketing automation is strikingly absent: HubSpot leads at just 2.44%.

Expert Analysis: Divi Wordpress Theme Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

Mehmet Suleyman
Mehmet SuleymanCEO & Co-founder, TechnologyChecker

Our August 2026 crawl detects Divi on 766,049 active domains, of which 548,324 match an enriched company record, a 71.6% enrichment rate. Divi entered our detection index in March 2026, so the figures below describe a footprint rather than a trajectory.

Why This Page Has No Category Share

Divi is a WordPress theme. That single fact makes the usual market-share calculation misleading, and we would rather explain the omission than publish a number that cannot be read correctly.

If we placed Divi in the CMS and Website Builders category, it would sit alongside WordPress itself, and 99.7% of Divi domains run WordPress. Counting both would count the same website twice, which is why our category data deliberately excludes themes and page builders. The meaningful denominator is the surface Divi can actually address: the 9.5M WordPress sites in our index. On that basis Divi runs on 8.05% of WordPress, second only to Elementor at 32.45%, and comfortably ahead of wpBakery at 3.61%.

"A page builder does not compete with WordPress, it rides on it. Ranking Divi against Wix and Squarespace produces a number that is arithmetically fine and analytically useless. The question a buyer is actually asking is which builder to install once they have already chosen WordPress."

- David Thomson, CTO at TechnologyChecker.io

The Elementor Corridor

The largest movement in Divi's data is a genuine competitive loss. 3,710 domains that dropped Divi now run Elementor, and 1,383 of those left in the last 30 days. Tested against the rate among sites that kept Divi, that flow runs 4.8x above base (9.01% of leavers against 1.86% of stayers), and it is asymmetric: 3,710 out against 1,817 coming the other way, a little over two to one.

One caveat belongs with that number. A WordPress site can run the Divi theme and the Elementor plugin simultaneously, and many of these domains did so during the transition, so simple co-presence cannot settle the question. What settles it is the direction and the lift together: sites that leave Divi are nearly five times more likely to end up on Elementor than sites that stay, and twice as many move that way as move back.

Against wpBakery the picture reverses, and Divi is net positive: 334 domains gained, 156 lost. The legacy Visual Composer base is still dispersing, and Divi is taking a share of it.

The Off-WordPress Exit

A second, much smaller flow leaves the platform entirely: Webflow (364 domains), Adobe Experience Manager (176) and Framer Sites (158). These clear the base-rate test by the widest margins anywhere on this page, above 30x in each case, for a simple reason. A Divi site has no incidental reason to be running Webflow, so co-presence is close to proof of migration rather than evidence against it.

The volumes are small against 766,049, but the composition matters: these are sites leaving WordPress rather than switching builders within it, and they skew toward design-led and enterprise properties.

Customer Profile

70.88% of matched companies have 1-10 employees and 20.74% have 11-50. At 91.6% under fifty people, this is one of the most size-concentrated bases in our index. Only 0.07% have 10,001+ employees. The enterprise names that do appear, Starbucks, Mercedes-Benz, Adobe, JPMorgan Chase, KPMG, are almost always subdomain deployments: alumni portals, recruitment microsites and departmental pages that a marketing team built without involving central IT. That is a legitimate use of Divi, but it should not be read as enterprise adoption.

The Local-Services Core

Construction leads the industry table at 5.73%, with nothing above 6%. The flatness is real, but the composition is not random. Medical Practices (2.91%), Individual and Family Services (2.54%), Real Estate (2.40%), Professional Training and Coaching (2.23%) and Wellness and Fitness Services (1.98%) are all local, appointment-driven service businesses, and together with construction they dominate the table.

Divi's buyer is a business whose website is a brochure and a contact form. That explains the near-total absence of marketing automation, HubSpot on just 2.44%, and the strong SEO presence, Yoast on 45.86% plus RankMath on 9.81%. These owners care about being found locally and about looking credible. They do not run lifecycle campaigns.

Sales Signal: This is a volume market reached through agencies and marketplaces, not direct enterprise sales. The 3.24% of the base in advertising services are the multipliers: they deploy Divi across client fleets and make one decision that lands on many sites.

Geography

The United States accounts for 161,328 companies (29.4% of matched), but Divi is meaningfully more European than most WordPress tooling. Germany (46,303), the United Kingdom (44,702), France (36,483), Spain (31,704) and the Netherlands (27,989) all exceed Canada, and Europe totals over 41% of the base. South Africa at 9,003 is an outlier worth noting: it rarely reaches this level in our data, and it sits ahead of India (7,708).

Key Takeaways

1. 766,049 domains makes Divi the second most-detected WordPress page builder, at 8.05% of WordPress against Elementor's 32.45%.

2. There is no category share on this page by design. Divi is a theme, and ranking it beside WordPress would count the same site twice.

3. The Elementor corridor is real: 3,710 domains, 4.8x base rate, 2:1 asymmetric. Coexistence during transition is expected and does not refute it.

4. Divi is net positive against wpBakery, gaining 334 and losing 156 as the legacy Visual Composer base disperses.

5. 91.6% of the base is under 50 employees, one of the most concentrated distributions we track.

6. Europe is over 41% of the base, with Germany, the UK, France, Spain and the Netherlands each ahead of Canada.

Sales Applications

Outreach template: "We noticed your site is built on Divi. Across the 548,324 Divi installations we can match to a company, local service businesses at your size typically add [booking / reviews / local SEO] once the site is live. Worth a short conversation?"

Targeting strategy: Construction, medical practices, real estate and coaching businesses at 1-50 employees in the US, Germany, the UK and France. Agencies in the advertising services segment (3.24%) are the highest-leverage targets, since one relationship reaches many sites.

Competitive angle: If you are selling against Divi, Elementor is where its customers actually go, and page-speed complaints are the documented friction. If you are selling to Divi customers, assume no developer, no marketing automation and a strong existing SEO plugin.

Divi is overwhelmingly a small-business tool: 70.88% of matched Divi companies have 1-10 employees and 91.6% have fewer than 50, based on 548,324 enriched companies. By industry, Construction leads at 5.73%, followed by Business Consulting (3.97%), Advertising Services (3.24%) and Medical Practices (2.91%). The pattern is local, appointment-driven service businesses whose website is a brochure and a contact form.

Is Divi worth the hype?

For small businesses that need a no-code WordPress builder, Divi delivers. It is the second-largest WordPress page builder with 766,049 active installations, behind Elementor. G2 reviewers cite ease of use (14 mentions) and template depth (9 mentions) as top strengths. The main knock is performance: Divi 4 had code-bloat issues that required extra optimisation plugins. Divi 5, released 26 February 2026, rewrites the core to address this. At $89/year for unlimited sites, it undercuts most competitors on price.

Is the Divi theme better than the Divi plugin?

They serve different roles. The Divi Theme is a full WordPress theme that includes the Divi Builder. The Divi Builder Plugin works with any existing WordPress theme. For sites starting fresh, the theme is the simpler choice. For sites already running a different theme that want Divi's visual builder, the plugin avoids a full redesign. Both are included in every Elegant Themes membership.

What is better than Divi?

By footprint, Elementor is the larger WordPress page builder at 3,089,184 domains against Divi's 766,049, and our switching data shows it is where Divi's leavers actually go: 3,710 domains made that move, at 4.8 times the rate of sites that stayed. For developer-led projects, Oxygen (42,913) and Breakdance (18,873) trade Divi's visual convenience for cleaner output. Whether any is better depends on whether you value speed of assembly or control of markup, which is the same trade-off behind Divi's page-speed criticism.

What happens if you stop using Divi?

Divi builds pages with its own layout system, so deactivating the theme leaves content that needs rebuilding rather than a clean fallback. Divi 5, released 26 February 2026, moves to a block-based format that reduces this lock-in compared with the older shortcode approach. In practice our data shows 41,176 domains have dropped Divi since March 2026, about 5.4% of the live base, and the largest single destination is Elementor at 3,710 domains.

How much does the Divi theme cost?

Divi pricing starts at $89/year for the base theme and builder with unlimited website usage, as listed on elegantthemes.com. Divi Pro costs $277/year and adds Divi AI, Cloud storage, VIP support, and team accounts. Elegant Themes also offers lifetime plans for a one-time payment. All plans include Divi, Extra theme, Bloom, and Monarch plugins.

Is Elegant Themes worth the price?

At $89/year for unlimited sites, Elegant Themes membership is competitively priced. You get Divi (theme + builder), Extra magazine theme, Bloom email opt-in plugin, and Monarch social sharing plugin. Compared to Elementor Pro ($59/year for one site), Divi's unlimited licensing is the better deal for agencies and freelancers managing multiple client sites.

What is Elegant Themes Divi?

Elegant Themes is the company behind Divi. Nick Roach founded it, and Divi launched in December 2013 as a WordPress theme with a built-in drag-and-drop page builder, letting you design pages visually without touching code. Elegant Themes claims 974,872 total customers on its own site; our detection data puts active Divi installations at 766,049 domains as of August 2026, which is the count of sites currently serving Divi rather than the count of licences ever sold.

Can Divi be used for ecommerce websites?

Yes. Our data shows WooCommerce co-occurs on 12.01% of Divi domains, so roughly one in eight Divi sites runs a store, and Divi ships WooCommerce-specific modules for product listings and checkout layouts. It is best suited to small catalogues; Shopify appears on just 0.18% of Divi domains, reflecting that the two are rarely combined.

Does Divi slow down WordPress?

Divi 4 had a reputation for bloated output. Users reported heavy CSS/JS payloads that hurt load times, and it was the top G2 complaint. Divi 5, which dropped in February 2026, is a ground-up rewrite built on Flexbox and CSS Grid with a leaner DOM. Early reviews (WPMarmite, WP Spectra) confirm real speed gains. Still, our migration data suggests performance already pushed 23,501 companies to Elementor.

Is Divi good for SEO?

Divi does not optimise SEO by itself, and its owners clearly know that: 45.86% of Divi domains also run Yoast SEO and a further 9.81% run RankMath, so well over half pair it with a dedicated SEO plugin. The relevant caveat is performance. Divi's page-weight and code-bloat criticism is the most common complaint in review data, and page speed is a ranking input, which is why caching plugins are common on these sites.

How does Divi compare to Gutenberg?

Gutenberg is WordPress's built-in block editor and ships with every installation; Divi is a commercial theme and visual builder layered on top. Divi 5, shipped 26 February 2026, adopts a block-based format that narrows the technical gap. The practical difference is scope: Gutenberg edits content within a theme's design, while Divi replaces the theme and controls the full page layout, which is why 766,049 sites pay for it despite Gutenberg being free.
