Companies Using DigiCert

DigiCert's site seal is the badge DigiCert supplies with its premium certificates, and our October 2026 crawl finds it on 1,766 live domains once blank seals are set aside. The seal is a script from seal.digicert.com that asks DigiCert for an image tied to one certificate order. On 15 October 2026 we requested that image for every seal we could read. For 705 of the 1,588 it came back blank, and 497 of those sites now run another CA's certificate, or none we could read, so they're out of every number here. Below is the list of companies that use DigiCert seals, with size, country and industry. It includes Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, the insurer TruStage and Lakeshore Learning.

On the cleaned count DigiCert ranks 10th of the 16 technologies we track in SSL/TLS Certificates, with 0.82%. Its seal users are bigger and older than the usual badge crowd: 40.62% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 staff, and 53.28% were founded before 2000. One quirk to know before you size the list: 323 of the 1,766 domains belong to 14 companies, mostly forwarding addresses that land on a main site carrying the seal.

DigiCert Usage Statistics

DigiCert reads 1,766 domains in October 2026. That's the only point on the chart, because the blank-seal test behind this count was run once, on 15 October 2026; our earlier monthly totals counted every seal script, working or not. They wouldn't compare cleanly anyway: the set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and new ones added, and our detection signals widen over time. Since we began tracking the seal on 4 August 2026, 159 domains dropped it on at least one hostname, and when we re-checked, 43 still carried it on another.

List of Companies Using DigiCert

Who uses DigiCert? This list of companies using DigiCert seals names 35 of the 966 matched companies, and every row's seal was served live when we checked on 15 October 2026. It stops short of 50 because many large DigiCert sites block automated visits, so we couldn't read their seal, and we only list seals we saw working. Several websites using DigiCert show it on a login or payment page: partners.lifenethealth.org, myaccount.lvvwd.com and enlinea.davivienda.cr are three. The brands that use DigiCert seals include DigiCert itself, on its knowledge base.

DigiCert Market Share Among SSL/TLS Certificates

What is DigiCert's market share? 0.82% of SSL/TLS Certificates, 10th of the 16 technologies we track there, on 1,766 domains, based on our crawl at TechnologyChecker.io. That's a seal count, not a certificate count, and the table mixes signals. GlobalSign's 165,576 domains (76.87%) count a DNS record left when a domain was validated. Sectigo TrustLogo (2,134 domains, 0.99%) had the same dead-seal correction as this page. Our category table's GeoTrust (1,687) and Comodo SSL (1,560) rows count seal scripts without a dead-seal correction, and GeoTrust's seal hostnames no longer resolve.

How We Counted DigiCert Customers

A domain counts here when a page on it loads DigiCert's seal script from seal.digicert.com. Our October 2026 crawl found the script on 2,272 live domains, and our for-sale and gambling filter removed 4.

A script only shows that the code is on the page, so we tested the seal itself. On 15 October 2026 we read the seal's tag from each page, first from the HTML and then in a headless browser, and asked DigiCert for the seal image for that tag and page. We read a tag on 1,588 domains. 883 returned the seal and 705 returned DigiCert's blank 159-byte image, which DigiCert serves when the certificate or contract has expired or the domain isn't on the order. We also connected to each site and read who issued its certificate. We removed the 497 blank seals on sites serving another CA's certificate, or one we couldn't read, and 5 domains that now redirect to a parking page. The 208 blank seals on DigiCert-issued certificates stay in, as do the 675 domains whose tag we couldn't read, mostly sites that blocked or timed out on our visits. That leaves 1,766, and every chart and table on this page uses it.

323 of the 1,766 domains belong to 14 companies, 309 of them forwarding addresses that land on a main site carrying the seal. United Site Services (84 domains) is the largest, and the next three hold 67, 67 and 31. We count domains, as on every page here, so those 323 domains are 14 customers. The usage chart starts in October because the blank-seal test was run once, and the company list holds only domains whose seal was served live when we checked.

Expert Analysis: DigiCert Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

Mehmet Suleyman
Mehmet SuleymanCEO & Co-founder, TechnologyChecker

DigiCert's site seal is the badge DigiCert supplies with its premium certificates, and our October 2026 crawl finds it working on 1,766 domains. A domain counts when a page loads DigiCert's seal script from seal.digicert.com and DigiCert still serves the seal for that site. 966 of the domains match a company, and DigiCert ranks 10th of 16 in SSL/TLS Certificates with 0.82%.

Four seals in ten came back blank

The seal script reads a short tag from the page and asks DigiCert for an image. DigiCert's troubleshooting page says each seal is tied to one certificate order and stops appearing when the certificate or contract expires. On 15 October 2026 I read the tag on every page we could and requested the image. For 705 of the 1,588 seals we tested, 44.40%, DigiCert returned a 159-byte transparent image instead of a seal of about 4 KB. Visitors see an empty space.

The certificates show who left. Of the 705 blank seals, 160 sat on sites serving a Google Trust Services certificate, 155 on Let's Encrypt and 66 on Sectigo. We removed the 497 blank seals on sites with another CA's certificate or none we could read, plus 5 domains that now redirect to a parking page. The other 208 blank seals sit on sites still serving a DigiCert certificate, and DigiCert's documentation explains why that happens: a certificate on a new order needs new seal code. Those stay in.

"The seal is meant to prove the certificate is current. On four pages in ten it proved the opposite, and most of those sites had already moved to another CA." - Mehmet Suleyman, CEO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io

Sales signal: a blank DigiCert seal on a Let's Encrypt or Google certificate marks a buyer who stopped paying for premium validation. CA resellers and certificate-management vendors can work that list.

The chart, and the forwarding addresses

The chart has one point, 1,766 domains in October 2026, because the blank-seal test was run once; our earlier monthly totals counted every seal script. The set of domains we crawl also turns over every month and our detection signals widen, so even the old totals weren't a like-for-like series. One more thing inflates the count. 323 of the 1,766 domains belong to 14 companies: United Site Services has 84 and the next three 67, 67 and 31, mostly retired brand names and look-alike domains forwarding to the company's main site, which carries the seal.

Sales signal: count companies, not domains, when you size this list. The top four alone hold 249 domains, 14.10% of the count.

Who shows it

DigiCert's seal users are bigger and older than the usual badge crowd. 40.62% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 staff, against 61.51% on Sectigo TrustLogo's profile, and 53 have more than 1,000. 53.28% were founded before 2000. Retail leads the industries at 12.36%, and banking, insurance and financial services add up to 10.82%. The seal sits where money or personal data changes hands: DFW Airport, TruStage, Capitol Federal, ICBC Argentina, TaxAct, TaxSlayer and the Las Vegas Valley Water District's account site.

Sales signal: these buyers pay for organisation-validated certificates and say so on the page. Payment-page security, fraud and compliance tools fit them better than website builders do.

Japan, and the GeoTrust brand

Japan has 96 matched companies, second only to the United States (514) and more than twice the United Kingdom's 43. Xserver, a Japanese host, runs 1.53% of the domains. The certificates hold the other surprise. On 15 October, 950 of the 1,766 domains served a certificate issued by DigiCert, and 433 of those were GeoTrust-branded, against 386 DigiCert-branded, with Encryption Everywhere (64), Thawte (48) and RapidSSL (19) making up the rest. DigiCert owns those brands: it completed its purchase of Symantec's website security business on 31 October 2017, and geotrust.com carries a DigiCert copyright. GeoTrust's own seal is dead, because its seal hostnames no longer resolve, so these 433 sites show DigiCert's badge over a GeoTrust certificate.

"More DigiCert seal sites run a GeoTrust certificate than a DigiCert-branded one. The badge says DigiCert; the certificate often says GeoTrust, and both come from the same company." - Mehmet Suleyman, CEO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io

Sales signal: Japan is a real pocket of DigiCert seal users, and sellers with Japanese coverage should filter for it. For everyone else, treat GeoTrust and DigiCert certificates as one account.

Stack, price and owners

Across the 1,766 domains, Google Analytics runs on 80.86% and Cloudflare sits in front of 43.04%. OneTrust is on 11.72%, more than three times the leading consent tool on Sectigo TrustLogo's domains. WordPress runs only 20.61%, and Adobe Analytics (1.42%) and Adobe Experience Manager (0.85%) mark the enterprise tail. DigiCert's comparison page lists base prices from $218 (Basic OV) to $1,495 (Secure Site Pro EV), with the Smart Seal included on Secure Site and Secure Site Pro. By certificates issued, DigiCert held 0.9% of final certificates in Q3 2026, per Cloudflare Radar data in our certificate authority market share report, and Clearlake Capital and TA Associates completed their investment in DigiCert in October 2019.

Sales signal: a OneTrust banner on one DigiCert site in nine points to companies with a privacy function. Pitch a team, not a sole owner.

Key takeaways

1. 1,766 domains after 497 blank seals on sites without a DigiCert certificate and 5 parked domains were removed; 208 blank seals on DigiCert certificates stay in.

2. 44.40% of the seals we could test came back blank.

3. 323 of the 1,766 domains belong to 14 companies, so count companies before you size the market.

4. 433 seal sites run GeoTrust-branded DigiCert certificates, and GeoTrust's own seal no longer loads.

How to use this list

Filter on industry and country, collapse the forwarding domains, and load the page before you call to see whether the seal still shows. For the full list of 1,766 DigiCert domains with company, size and stack data, explore TechnologyChecker.io.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who uses DigiCert?

Organisations that take payments or logins and want visitors to see their CA: retailers, banks, insurers and public bodies. Our October 2026 crawl finds DigiCert's seal working on 1,766 live domains. Named users with a live seal include Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, TruStage, Lakeshore Learning, Capitol Federal, TaxAct and the Las Vegas Valley Water District.

How many customers does DigiCert have?

Our October 2026 crawl counts 1,766 live domains with a working DigiCert seal, 966 matched to a company, after removing 497 blank seals on sites without a DigiCert certificate and 5 parked domains. That counts seals, not certificates: per Cloudflare Radar, DigiCert issued 89 million final certificates in Q3 2026. And 323 of the 1,766 domains belong to 14 companies.

What is DigiCert's market share?

0.82% of SSL/TLS Certificates, 10th of the 16 technologies we track there, on 1,766 domains after blank seals are removed. The category mixes signals: GlobalSign's 76.87% counts DNS records left by domain validation, not seals. By certificates issued, DigiCert held 0.9% of final certificates in Q3 2026, per Cloudflare Radar data in our CA market share report.

What are the best alternatives to DigiCert?

For a seal, Sectigo's TrustLogo is the like-for-like choice; it runs on 2,134 domains in our crawl after the same dead-seal correction. DigiCert also sells certificates under its GeoTrust, Thawte and RapidSSL brands, though GeoTrust's old seal no longer loads. Which countries use DigiCert the most?

The United States, with 514 matched companies, then Japan (96), the United Kingdom (43), Canada (40), Australia (28) and Germany (27). Japan's count is more than twice the UK's, and Xserver, a Japanese host, runs 1.53% of DigiCert seal domains. These counts cover the 966 domains we matched to a company in October 2026.

What size companies use DigiCert?

A mix, larger than most seal users. 40.62% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 27.86% have 11 to 50, against 61.51% in the smallest band on Sectigo TrustLogo's profile. 53 of the 901 sized companies have more than 1,000 staff, including ICBC Argentina, Davivienda and the Czech Social Security Administration.

How old are companies that use DigiCert?

Older than most web-tool users. 53.28% of matched companies with a founding year were founded before 2000, and 11.33% before 1960. The 2000s (21.47%) and the 2010s (21.07%) are the largest single decades, and only 4.17% date from the 2020s. The Norwegian Red Cross (1865) and Capitol Federal (1893) are among the oldest named users.

What is the ideal customer profile for DigiCert?

A US retailer, bank or insurer with 50 or fewer staff, founded before 2000, running Google Analytics behind Cloudflare. It holds a DigiCert or GeoTrust-branded certificate and shows the seal on a checkout, login or account page. Check that the seal still loads before you call: on 15 October 2026, 44.40% of the seals we tested came back blank.

How much does a DigiCert certificate cost?

DigiCert's comparison page, read 15 October 2026, lists base prices of $218 for Basic OV, $344 for Basic EV, $399 for Secure Site OV, $995 for Secure Site EV and for Secure Site Pro, and $1,495 for Secure Site Pro EV. The Smart Seal is listed with Secure Site and Secure Site Pro, not with Basic. Multi-year plans change the price.

Is DigiCert free?

No. DigiCert sells paid certificates, from a $218 base price for Basic OV on its comparison page (read 15 October 2026), and the seal comes with the certificate order rather than as a separate free product. DigiCert's documentation says the seal stops appearing when the certificate or contract expires. Free certificates come from CAs such as Let's Encrypt.

Who is the parent company of DigiCert?

DigiCert is privately owned by investment firms. Clearlake Capital and TA Associates completed their investment in the company on 16 October 2019, per DigiCert's announcement. DigiCert in turn owns the GeoTrust, Thawte and RapidSSL certificate brands, which came with Symantec's website security business, a purchase DigiCert completed on 31 October 2017.

Are DigiCert and Sectigo the same?

No. They're separate certificate authorities: DigiCert is based in Lehi, Utah, and Sectigo is the former Comodo CA. In our October 2026 crawl DigiCert's seal runs on 1,766 domains and Sectigo's TrustLogo on 2,134, each after removing dead seals. DigiCert's seal users are larger: 40.62% have 1 to 10 staff, against 61.51% for Sectigo's.

Is GeoTrust part of DigiCert?

Yes. GeoTrust came to DigiCert with Symantec's website security business, a purchase DigiCert completed on 31 October 2017, and geotrust.com carries a DigiCert copyright. GeoTrust-branded certificates are issued by DigiCert: 433 of the 1,766 DigiCert seal domains serve one. GeoTrust's own seal no longer works, because its seal hostnames have stopped resolving.

What is a trust seal?

A trust seal is a badge a certificate authority lets its customers show, backed by a live check. DigiCert's seal script asks DigiCert for an image tied to one certificate order. If the certificate or contract has lapsed, or the page's domain isn't on the order, DigiCert returns a blank image. That happened for 705 of the 1,588 DigiCert seals we tested in October 2026.
