Companies Using SpyCloud
Our October 2026 crawl finds 2,355 domains with a SpyCloud verification record. SpyCloud, based in Austin, Texas, recaptures stolen credentials from criminal sources and alerts companies when their employees' logins appear in that data. A company has to verify a domain before SpyCloud shows the breach details for it, and the DNS record is one way to do that. So the count is organisations that verified a domain with SpyCloud at least once. Below is the list of companies that use SpyCloud, including ASML, Red Bull, Intuit, Roblox, Zoom and Slack.
SpyCloud ranks 8th of 17 in Security Testing & Compliance with a 1.84% share. Its geography is unusual: Australia (250 matched companies) and Austria (132) both outrank the United Kingdom (101). And the companies behind it are older than on the other DNS-verified security pages: 53.36% of matched companies were founded before 2000.

SpyCloud Usage Statistics
The chart goes from 1,979 domains in June 2026 to 2,355 in October. Most of that is our own coverage changing: the domains we crawl turn over every month, with dead sites leaving and new ones added, and our DNS detection widened through the summer. The record rarely disappears. Only 19 domains have dropped it since we began tracking on 16 March 2026, and 2 still carry it on another hostname.

Which Countries Use SpyCloud the Most?
Which countries use SpyCloud the most? The United States leads with 686 matched companies, then Australia (250) and Austria (132), ahead of the United Kingdom (101) and Germany (81). Belgium (72) and Luxembourg (43) are also high for their size. We looked for a shared reseller or IT provider in the DNS of the Austrian, Australian and Luxembourg domains and found none, so the cause isn't visible from our data.
Share of the 1,905 SpyCloud domains we matched to a company record — 80.9% of the 2,355 we detect. Top 15 countries shown, so these do not sum to 100%. Domains with no matching company record are not represented here and skew small and independent.
SpyCloud Market Share Among Security Testing & Compliance
What is SpyCloud's market share? 1.84% of Security Testing & Compliance, 8th of 17 technologies, on 2,355 of the category's 128,054 domains at TechnologyChecker.io. AbuseIPDB is one place above with 2,642. SpyCloud's closest product neighbour in the table is Have I Been Pwned (18,411 domains), which also shows a company its breached addresses after domain verification, but Have I Been Pwned's domain search is free for small domains while SpyCloud quotes every deal.
Top Competitors by Market Share
SpyCloud Customers by Company Size & Age
What size companies use SpyCloud? A spread, with a real enterprise tail. 23.24% of matched companies have 11 to 50 staff and 22.87% have 51 to 200, while 272 of 1,863 (14.6%) have more than 1,000. That's more large companies than on Have I Been Pwned's page (9.84%), and the named ones are big: ASML, Intuit, Abercrombie & Fitch and Penn Medicine.
Company Size Distribution
Company Age (Founded Decade)
This is an older base than most security tools see. The 2010s lead with only 22.47%, the 2000s follow with 20.62%, and 15.52% predate 1960. Add the 1960s to the 1990s and 53.36% were founded before 2000. Only 3.55% started in the 2020s. The old end includes Abercrombie & Fitch (1892), Coke Consolidated (1902) and ANDRITZ (1852).
What Industries Use SpyCloud the Most?
IT Services and IT Consulting leads at 7.19%, then Software Development (5.02%), Financial Services (4.91%) and Hospitals and Health Care (4.24%), based on our enriched company data. Law firms stand out: Law Practice (2.73%) and Legal Services (2.4%) add up to 5.13%, more than Software Development. Insurance (3.4%) completes a set of industries that hold sensitive client data.
Law firms using SpyCloud include A&O Shearman, and legal rows make up 5.13% of matched companies. Hospitals and health systems on SpyCloud include Penn Medicine, Lancaster General Health and RadNet. Insurers using SpyCloud include UNIQA, one of the Austrian groups behind the country's high count, and PPS in South Africa.
SpyCloud Alternatives & Competitors
Only one of the seven rows ranked above SpyCloud does a similar job. Have I Been Pwned (14.38%) also shows a verified domain's breached addresses, at consumer prices. Detectify (4.09%) tests websites, Wiz (2.12%) secures cloud accounts and AbuseIPDB (2.06%) tracks abusive IP addresses. SpyCloud's commercial rivals, Recorded Future among them, leave no DNS record we track. The overlap worth knowing: 216 SpyCloud domains also run KnowBe4.

Expert Analysis: SpyCloud Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

Our crawler pulls TXT records for every domain in the index, and SpyCloud's is one of the security records that turns up on serious company domains. A domain counts when a TXT record contains spycloud-domain-verification. Our October 2026 crawl puts that at 2,355 domains, 1,905 matched to a company, 8th of 17 in Security Testing & Compliance. When I re-read the 2,366 domains in our clean set on 15 October, 2,357 still carried the record, a near-perfect match.
What the record proves
SpyCloud's Employee ATO Prevention FAQ says domain ownership must be verified to see breach details, and that once a domain is added SpyCloud monitors every matching address. There are five verification methods, and DNS is one, so our count is a floor on that score. It's a ceiling on current customers in the other direction: the record stays after a contract ends. What it does show is a company that wanted to see which of its employees' logins were circulating among criminals.
Sales signal: a SpyCloud domain has a security team that thinks about identity as the attack path. Identity, MFA and session-security vendors will find the conversation already started.
One record per domain
SpyCloud issues a separate value per domain, so DNS can't group these domains into accounts the way it can for Wiz or Detectify. The 2,357 domains carry 2,371 values and only 22 values repeat, mostly where our index lists one company's hostnames as separate domains, such as five Zoom hosts and six student-union sites at Rensselaer. LinkedIn matching shows modest portfolios instead: Plasser and UNIQA have four domains each, Döhle Group and Kuhn three.
"Every SpyCloud domain carries its own value, so the list can't be collapsed by account. You have to collapse it by company." - David Thomson, CTO at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: dedupe by company name and parent before you count accounts; the domains-per-company ratio is low, so most rows are one organisation.
A slow, steady count
The usage chart moves from 1,979 domains in June to 2,355 in October. That is mostly our crawl: the domains we cover turn over every month as dead sites go and new ones are found, and our DNS detection widened over the summer. Removals are rare. 19 domains dropped the record since 16 March 2026, 2 still carry it on another hostname, and 12 of the 20 dropped hostnames had really removed it when I checked.
Sales signal: about 0.8% of domains dropped the record in seven months. Because the record outlives a contract, that says little about renewals.
Older, larger, regulated
14.6% of matched companies with a known size have more than 1,000 staff, against 9.84% on Have I Been Pwned's page. The age profile is the oldest of the five DNS-verified security tools I covered this month: 53.36% were founded before 2000 and only 3.55% in the 2020s, against 22% before 2000 and 12.4% in the 2020s on Detectify's page. IT services lead at 7.19%, but law (5.13% across two rows), insurance (3.4%) and hospitals (4.24%) are high for a security tool. The named rows run from ASML and Intuit to Coke Consolidated, Envoy Air and Crate & Barrel.
Sales signal: these are firms with regulated client data and an incident-response duty. Pitch compliance evidence and response speed, not novelty.
Austria, Australia and Luxembourg
The United States has 686 matched companies. Australia has 250, Austria 132 and the United Kingdom only 101. Luxembourg has 43 and Belgium 72. I checked 425 Austrian, Australian and Luxembourg domains for a common reseller in their other TXT records and mail settings and found none: the most common shared entry is Microsoft 365's mail setting. The Austrian names are real organisations, UNIQA, ANDRITZ, Red Bull and Plasser among them. Austria's 132 is also more than Germany's 81, the reverse of the other DNS-verified security pages, KnowBe4 included, where Germany outnumbers Austria every time.
Sales signal: SpyCloud has unusual reach in Austria and Australia. A vendor selling into those markets gets a ready list of identity-aware buyers.
Overlap, not switching
We publish no migration table for SpyCloud. The largest overlap our checks found is KnowBe4: 216 domains run both today, out of 219 ever seen with both, 9.13% of the 2,366 clean domains. SpyCloud finds stolen credentials and KnowBe4 trains the staff who lose them; they're layers, not substitutes.
"Where a company runs SpyCloud and KnowBe4 together, it's treating its people as the attack surface. 216 domains do." - David Thomson, CTO at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: the 216 domains with both records are the most security-mature part of this list. Put them first for identity threat detection.
The stack around it
On the clean set, WordPress runs on 38.72%, Google Analytics on 61.24% and Cloudflare on 42.1%. OneTrust is on 12.51%, against 5.71% on Have I Been Pwned's page, and TYPO3 on 3.3%. Duo Security (3.0%) and 1Password's record (2.7%) are the most common identity tools we see.
Sales signal: OneTrust's presence points to privacy and compliance teams with budget. Expect formal procurement.
What it costs
SpyCloud quotes every deal. Its FAQ says Enterprise Protection is tiered by the number of employee accounts protected, consumer protection by customer accounts, and the Investigations API by queries, with the portal priced by seat.
Sales signal: pricing by employee count means larger companies renegotiate as they grow. Headcount changes at a SpyCloud account are a timing signal.
Key takeaways
1. 2,355 domains in October 2026, 8th of 17; each verified a domain to see SpyCloud breach details at least once.
2. One value per domain, so count accounts by company, not by code.
3. 14.6% of matched companies have more than 1,000 staff, and 53.36% were founded before 2000.
4. Australia (250) and Austria (132) both outrank the UK (101).
5. 216 domains also run KnowBe4.
How to use this list
Dedupe by company, start with the larger regulated firms, and treat each row as a past verification. Our DNS statistics report explains why we read TXT records as history. The full list of 2,355 domains, with 1,905 matched companies and their size, country and industry, is on TechnologyChecker.io.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who uses SpyCloud?
Organisations of every size that want to know when their employees' credentials are stolen, with more large companies than most tools in this category. Our October 2026 crawl finds SpyCloud's verification record on 2,355 domains, 1,905 matched to a company, and 14.6% of those have more than 1,000 staff. Named users include ASML, Red Bull, Intuit, Roblox, Zoom, Slack, Abercrombie & Fitch and Penn Medicine.
How many customers does SpyCloud have?
We count 2,355 domains carrying a SpyCloud verification record in October 2026, not customers. SpyCloud's values are per domain, so we can't group domains into accounts, and a record usually stays after a contract ends. Read 2,355 as a ceiling on current customers' domains and a floor on domains ever verified, since DNS is one of five verification methods. SpyCloud's free exposure check needs only a business email, so it doesn't create this record. Its own site says companies use it to protect more than four billion accounts.
What is SpyCloud's market share?
SpyCloud holds 1.84% of Security Testing & Compliance at TechnologyChecker.io, 8th of the 17 technologies we track, on 2,355 domains. AbuseIPDB (2,642) is just above. The table mixes breach search, website scanning, cloud security and website seals, all counted from what we can see in DNS or HTML, so treat the share as context rather than SpyCloud's slice of its own market.
What are the best alternatives to SpyCloud?
For breach and stolen-credential monitoring, buyers compare SpyCloud with Recorded Future, which SpyCloud covers on its own comparison page, and with Hudson Rock, Breachsense and WhiteIntel, which publish SpyCloud alternative pages. Have I Been Pwned is the low-cost option: it also shows a verified domain's breached addresses, and its record is on 18,411 domains in our crawl.
Which countries use SpyCloud the most?
The United States, with 686 matched companies, then Australia (250) and Austria (132), both ahead of the United Kingdom (101). Germany (81), Belgium (72), Canada (70), Italy (69) and Luxembourg (43) follow. Austria, Germany and Switzerland together reach 252. We found no shared reseller in those domains' DNS that would explain the Austrian or Australian depth.
What size companies use SpyCloud?
A wide range. Of matched companies with a known size, 23.24% have 11 to 50 employees, 22.87% have 51 to 200 and 19.22% have 1 to 10. At the top, 272 of 1,863 (14.6%) have more than 1,000 staff, including ASML, Intuit, Abercrombie & Fitch and Penn Medicine. That's a heavier enterprise tail than Have I Been Pwned's 9.84%.
How old are companies that use SpyCloud?
Older than most security-tool users. The largest group was founded in the 2010s, but at only 22.47%, then the 2000s (20.62%), and 15.52% predate 1960. In all, 53.36% were founded before 2000 and only 3.55% in the 2020s. Long-established insurers, manufacturers, hospitals and law firms make up much of the list.
What is the ideal customer profile for SpyCloud?
On our data: an established company of 11 to 200 staff, or an enterprise above 1,000, in IT services, finance, insurance, healthcare or law, based in the US, Australia or Austria and founded before 2000. Its website often runs WordPress (38.72%) or Cloudflare (42.1%) and is more likely than most to use OneTrust (12.51%).
What does SpyCloud do?
SpyCloud recaptures stolen credentials from criminal sources, which its documentation calls a recaptured darknet dataset, and matches them to an organisation's people. Its Employee ATO Prevention product watches a list of domains, IP addresses and emails and flags matching exposures, so accounts can be reset before attackers use them. It also sells consumer account protection and an investigations portal.
How much does SpyCloud cost?
SpyCloud doesn't publish prices. Its FAQ says Enterprise Protection is tiered by the number of employee accounts protected, Consumer Protection by the number of customer accounts, the Investigations API by query volume and the Investigations portal by seat, with quotes on request. Checked 15 October 2026. Expect an enterprise contract rather than a self-serve plan.
Is SpyCloud trustworthy?
SpyCloud is an established security company based in Austin, Texas, and its record sits on the domains of companies such as ASML, Intuit and Roblox in our October 2026 crawl. It makes customers verify domain ownership before it shows breach details for that domain, which stops anyone from searching another company's exposed credentials.
What is the spycloud-domain-verification record?
It's the DNS TXT record a company adds to prove it owns a domain on its SpyCloud watchlist. SpyCloud's documentation says domain ownership must be verified to see breach details, offers five verification methods, and once a domain is added monitors all matching email addresses. Our crawl sees only the DNS method, so the count leaves out other verifications.
Why does Austria rank so high for SpyCloud?
We don't know yet. Austria has 132 matched companies, more than the United Kingdom's 101, and they're real organisations such as UNIQA, ANDRITZ and Red Bull. We checked the DNS of the Austrian domains for a shared reseller or IT provider and found none. A sales partner without a DNS footprint would explain it, but our data can't confirm one.
