Companies Using cdnjs

cdnjs is one of the plainest signals our crawler records: a page either asks cdnjs.cloudflare.com for a file or it doesn't. In our October 2026 crawl, 2,276,149 domains did, and we matched 1,249,575 of them to a company. That puts cdnjs 2nd of the 60 CDNs we track. It's free, so nobody here is a customer in the billing sense. On 12 October I opened a random sample and our top 50 in a browser to see what a cdnjs hit actually means.

What a detection means

Our rule counts a domain when a page loads a script from cdnjs or carries a link element pointing at it, which covers stylesheets and fonts. Of 150 live domains drawn at random, 135 loaded a file from cdnjs when I checked. Nine no longer served a page, four blocked automated visits or timed out, and two showed nothing. Not one was there only because of a preconnect hint, which the link check would also match. Two big names were, though. Accenture's and Nike's home pages only open an early connection to cdnjs, so I took both out of our company list.

Sales signal: a cdnjs detection is almost always a real file on a real page. What you need to find out is which file, and who put it there.

Growth trajectory

The count went from 1,788,083 in June to 2,276,149 in October, and 321,856 of that came in one step, to 2,109,939 in July. I don't read that as a rush to cdnjs. Most of it is our side: the set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and newly found ones added, and our detection signals widen over time. Since we began tracking it in March 2026, 356,496 domains have dropped cdnjs, and in a 1% sample about one in nine still load it on another hostname. There's no contract to cancel, so I'd bet most of those exits are redesigns and closed sites rather than verdicts on cdnjs.

Sales signal: use a cdnjs hit to describe how a site was built. It won't tell you when anyone is ready to buy.

Who loads it

58.17% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees, and 82.93% have 50 or fewer. 55.74% were founded in 2010 or later. Big employers are in here too, 21,259 companies above 1,000 staff, but they tend to load cdnjs on one property. In our top 50, 15 were detected on a jobs or careers site, and five of those (Disney, Spectrum, Walgreens, AstraZeneca and Cargill) run on Radancy's TalentBrew careers platform. Others load it on the main site. Kaiser Permanente pulls the Lottie animation player from cdnjs on kp.org, and Teleperformance loads jQuery and Font Awesome on www.tp.com. IQVIA and Safran load it on their group sites.

Sales signal: a hit on a jobs subdomain tells you about the company's careers-site vendor; a hit on the main domain tells you about its web team. Check which one you've got before you pitch.

Templates put it on many domains at once

The biggest single owner in our data is the business-networking group BNI Global, with 139 cdnjs domains. Its regional chapter sites run on a BNI Connect template that loads the cookieconsent library from cdnjs; I confirmed that on four of them. Coldwell Banker's 38 are agents' sites, and the ones I checked run on MoxiWorks, which loads headroom.js from cdnjs. Neither comes close to explaining a count of 2,276,149, and I found no single platform, theme or plugin that does.

Sales signal: franchise networks are where one platform decision covers dozens of cdnjs domains. Agencies should pitch the platform owner, not each chapter.

Where and in which sectors

The United States has 348,498 matched companies. The United Kingdom (102,061) and India (101,072) are almost level behind it, then Brazil (64,174) and France (47,701). Industry is flat. Real Estate leads at 4.37%, Retail is at 4.25% and IT Services and IT Consulting at 3.92%, and the ten largest add up to 30.02%. I'd expect that from a free file host that comes bundled with themes.

Sales signal: India sits level with the UK on matched companies. If you sell hosting or front-end tooling and only work the English-speaking markets, that's the gap.

Side by side with jsDelivr

No CDN pair passed our switching tests. Public CDNs don't exclude each other, so sites add and drop them without replacing one with another. Today 706,721 domains load both cdnjs and jsDelivr, 430,134 cdnjs and Google Hosted Libraries, 366,089 cdnjs and the jQuery CDN, and 247,924 cdnjs and Unpkg. Which of the two big library CDNs comes first depends on cleaning. The jsDelivr page removes 290,286 for-sale and gambling pages and lists 2,012,188 domains. The same filter removes only 40,548 of 2,300,102 raw cdnjs domains, 1.8%, under the 10% at which we re-base a headline, so this page keeps the uncleaned 2,276,149. It's also why jsDelivr's page shows cdnjs at 2,261,527: that page compares both CDNs after the same filter.

Sales signal: every extra CDN means another DNS lookup and another connection before a page renders. For web-performance agencies, sites pulling from both make a ready-made audit list.

What else these sites load

Across the 2,259,545 domains in our clean live set, jQuery runs on 85.44% and jQuery Migrate on 31.37%. Bootstrap is on 41.29%, core-js on 45.1%, Swiper on 20.73% and Slick on 15.09%. WordPress is on 33.47% and Elementor on 8.05%. In a sample of 5,000 domains where our crawler kept one cdnjs script address, jQuery itself was the file on 1,000, ahead of Popper.js (341) and GSAP (325). Tailwind CSS, on 13.67%, shows that newer builds use cdnjs as well. GoDaddy hosting appears on 15.88%.

Sales signal: jQuery on 85% of domains is what a site built from a theme some years ago looks like. That's a rebuild prospect for agencies and a poor fit for anyone selling headless-CMS or React tooling.

What it costs

Nothing. cdnjs's About page says it's free because sponsors cover infrastructure, tooling and monitoring, with Cloudflare providing the global CDN and project maintenance; Algolia, DigitalOcean, Statuspage, Sentry and UptimeRobot are also listed. Ryan Kirkman and Thomas Davis founded it in 2011, and Matt Cowley and Cloudflare engineering maintain it. It says it serves more than 250 billion requests a month from over 330 edge locations. The code is on GitHub under the MIT licence.

Sales signal: nobody budgets for cdnjs, so there's nothing to displace. The money is in the work around it: the hosting under the site, or the rebuild that retires the old front end.
