Companies Using Progress Sitefinity
Progress Sitefinity is a CMS that Progress describes as hybrid-headless. Our November 2026 crawl finds it on 4,171 domains, by its Sitefinity generator tag or by sfDataIntell, the browser object of Sitefinity Insight, Progress's analytics and personalisation service. Below is the list of companies that use Progress Sitefinity, with size, country, industry and stack.
The sites are real, but many domains point at the same one. In a random 40 we checked on 6 November 2026, 30 ran Sitefinity, and 17 of those 30 were domains that redirect to another site, such as a regional or old brand domain. Some companies own whole fleets of them: before cleaning, 202 domains carried Magna International's homepage title, 181 Wärtsilä's and 82 Merrithew's. We folded 716 such redirect domains into the main site they point to (see How We Counted, below), so those fleets no longer inflate the count. NYC Public Schools, the World Health Organization, Cintas, Wesfarmers and P.F. Chang's run their main sites on Sitefinity.
Sitefinity holds 0.03% of the domains in CMS & Website Builders.

Progress Sitefinity Usage Statistics
The chart has one point, 4,171 domains in November 2026, because the cleaned count starts with this crawl; folding redirect domains and removing duplicate www. entries wasn't applied to earlier months, so we don't chart them. Even then it wouldn't be a same-domain series: the set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and newly found ones added, and our detection widens over time. Since tracking began on 16 March 2026, 370 domains dropped Sitefinity on every hostname we see. Read that as turnover, not as lost customers.

Which countries use Progress Sitefinity the most? The United States, with 1,416 of the 2,491 domains we matched to a company, then Australia (198), Canada (170) and the United Kingdom (163). Add New Zealand (38) and Ireland (19), and the six English-speaking countries hold 2,004, or 80.45% of matched domains. Singapore (48) is the largest Asian country on the list.
Share of the 2,491 Progress Sitefinity domains we matched to a company record — 59.7% of the 4,171 we detect. Top 15 countries shown, so these do not sum to 100%. Domains with no matching company record are not represented here and skew small and independent.

Tech Stack of Progress Sitefinity-Powered Websites
Based on the 4,171 domains, Sitefinity sites run Google Tag Manager (87.51%) and jQuery (88.4%), and ASP.NET shows on 74.75%. Part of the gap is sites that serve Sitefinity through a separate front end, as Wärtsilä does with a Next.js site. Google Analytics is on 81.95% and Bootstrap on 56.87%, and Kendo UI appears on 9.88%. These shares use the cleaned count, so one company's redirect domains no longer repeat its stack.

How We Counted Progress Sitefinity Sites
A domain counts here when its page carries Sitefinity's generator tag or creates sfDataIntell, the browser object of Sitefinity Insight. Insight catches sites that hide the generator tag, including headless ones such as Wärtsilä's Next.js front end.
Our raw November count was 4,944 domains. Our standard title filter removed 4 for-sale or gambling pages. We then removed 716 extra domains that redirect to the same company's main site, keeping the main domain: country domains and old brand names, such as the ones that carried Magna International's, Wärtsilä's and Merrithew's homepages. We also removed 57 www. entries that duplicated a site already counted under its bare domain. 4 domains were in both groups, so these steps removed 769 in all.
That leaves 4,171, which every chart and table on this page uses. In a random 40 we checked on 6 November 2026, before these removals, 30 ran Sitefinity, 2 no longer did, 6 blocked us and 2 didn't answer.
Expert Analysis: Progress Sitefinity Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

Sitefinity's count needed one adjustment before it meant much. Before cleaning, our November 2026 crawl found it on 4,944 domains, by its generator tag or by the browser object of Sitefinity Insight. On 6 November 2026 I re-requested a random 40. 30 ran Sitefinity, 2 had moved off it, 6 blocked us and 2 no longer answer. The Sitefinity hits were real sites. The domains often weren't separate ones.
One site, many domains
17 of the 30 hits redirected to another site. Some are ordinary: an old brand domain, a country domain, a library subdomain that now points at the university homepage. Others were fleets: 202 domains carried Magna International's homepage title, 181 Wärtsilä's and 82 Merrithew's. We folded 716 such redirect domains into the main site they point to and removed 57 duplicate www. entries, which leaves 4,171 domains.
"Magna has one website and two hundred domains. Count the websites before you count the customers." - Mehmet Suleyman, CEO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: this page's list already folds those fleets. If you work from raw Sitefinity data anywhere else, group domains by the site they land on first, or Magna and Wärtsilä will fill your target list.
Who runs it
We matched 2,491 domains to a company. Banking (142), Financial Services (139) and Insurance (101) make 40.21% of the industry chart, and health care adds 20.32%. 1,416 of the matched domains are in the United States. Most companies are small: 55.61% of those with a known size have 50 or fewer staff. The large end includes NYC Public Schools, the World Health Organization, Cintas and Wesfarmers.
Versions and movement
Of the 28 sampled domains that print a version in their generator tag, 18 were on a 15.x release and 8 on 13.3 or older, the oldest a 3.7 build. Progress's newest release note when I checked was 15.4.8641, dated 4 November 2026. Since tracking began on 16 March 2026, 57 domains moved from Sitefinity to WordPress and 22 the other way.
Sales signal: a generator tag several major versions behind marks a site due for an upgrade or a rebuild. Sitefinity partners and rival CMS vendors can both filter on it.

What is Sitefinity used for?
Building and running websites. Progress describes Sitefinity as a hybrid-headless CMS and composable DXP for marketing and development teams. On our data it mostly runs the main websites of banks, insurers, health systems and associations, and some sites also load Sitefinity Insight, Progress's analytics and personalisation service.
Is Sitefinity a CRM?
No. Progress positions Sitefinity as a CMS, which its product page calls hybrid-headless, and as a composable DXP. The customer-data part is Sitefinity Insight, which Progress documents as tracking visitors, building audience profiles and feeding personalisation back into the CMS. We detect Insight through its sfDataIntell browser object, for example on Wärtsilä's site.
How much does Sitefinity cost?
Progress doesn't publish a price. Its How to Buy page lists two editions, Sitefinity DX and Sitefinity DX + Enterprise, and asks buyers to request a personalised quote from Progress's sales team or certified partners. We checked the page on 6 November 2026.

The newest release note on Progress's site when we checked on 6 November 2026 was Sitefinity CMS 15.4.8641, a product update dated 4 November 2026. In a random sample from our list, 18 of 28 domains that print a version in their generator tag ran a 15.x release, and 8 were on 13.3 or older.
Why do so many Sitefinity domains show the same site?
Because some customers point dozens of domains at one Sitefinity site. Before cleaning, 202 domains carried Magna International's homepage title, 181 Wärtsilä's and 82 Merrithew's, and in a random 40, 17 of the 30 Sitefinity hits were redirects. This page folds 716 such redirect domains into the main site they point to, so they don't inflate the 4,171.
