Companies Using Ionic
Our November 2026 crawl finds 7,593 domains running Ionic, the open-source UI toolkit for building cross-platform mobile apps with web code in Angular, React or Vue. A domain counts when the page sets Ionic's browser global, window.Ionic, with its config or version. That global proves Ionic's code ran, not that the site chose Ionic, so we cut hard: 88% of the raw 63,310 domains are gone, most of them HighLevel sites whose chat widget carries a copy of Ionic (see How We Counted, below). Below is the list of companies that use Ionic after those cuts, with size, country, industry and stack.
What's left is mostly logged-in apps. In a random 40 domains from the cleaned list, checked on 6 November 2026, 25 ran their own Ionic app: customer portals, ordering and booking apps, a tenant portal, a sensor dashboard, usually on an app. or portal. subdomain. 6 got Ionic through a platform: Clupik's sports-club sites (3), a Shazamme recruitment site, a LiveMenu restaurant menu and a pharmacy chat widget from mea. 5 were gambling pages and 4 didn't answer. Navy Federal's Digital Investor site, Bank Central Asia's expo site, H&R Block's MyBlock and Grupo Madero's ordering app all ran Ionic that day.
Ionic ranks 16th of 89 rows in Web Frameworks with 0.37%, just behind Remix (8,934 domains) and ahead of Adobe ColdFusion (6,193). Ionic builds an app's interface rather than serving pages, so it sits beside server frameworks such as Microsoft ASP.NET (44.11%) and Ruby on Rails (11.77%) without doing their job.

Ionic Usage Statistics
The chart has one point, 7,593 domains in November 2026, because the cleaned count starts with this crawl. The HighLevel and casino cuts weren't applied to earlier months, and the raw months were about eight times larger, so we don't chart them. Even cleaned, it wouldn't be a same-domain series: the set of domains we crawl turns over every month and our signals widen. Since tracking began on 16 March 2026, 17,836 domains dropped the Ionic global from every hostname. That figure is counted before the cuts, so it includes those fleets and isn't comparable with the 7,593.

Which Countries Use Ionic the Most?
Which countries use Ionic the most? The United States, with 739 of the 3,990 companies we matched, then Germany (463), Spain (279), Brazil (250), France (230) and India (221). Platforms help explain two of those, based on our sample: Spain's entries include sports clubs on Clupik, a club-management platform whose club sites run on Ionic, and Germany's include pharmacies on mea, whose chat widget bundles it.
Share of the 3,990 Ionic domains we matched to a company record — 52.5% of the 7,593 we detect. Top 15 countries shown, so these do not sum to 100%. Domains with no matching company record are not represented here and skew small and independent.
Ionic Market Share Among Web Frameworks
What is Ionic's market share? 0.37% of Web Frameworks, 16th of 89 rows, on the cleaned 7,593 domains at TechnologyChecker.io. Remix is 15th with 8,934 and Adobe ColdFusion 17th with 6,193. On the raw count Ionic would have ranked 7th, but most of that was HighLevel's chat widget. Microsoft ASP.NET (44.11%) and Ruby on Rails (11.77%) lead the table; they render pages on the server, while Ionic builds an app's interface, so the rows measure different layers.
Top Competitors by Market Share
Ionic Customers by Company Size & Age
What size companies use Ionic? Mostly small. 57.14% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 22.91% have 11 to 50, based on our enriched company data. 145 have more than 1,000 staff, and they use Ionic for one app or portal each: Navy Federal for its Digital Investor site, Bank Central Asia for an expo site, Sammaan Capital for its login portal and H&R Block for MyBlock.
Company Size Distribution
Company Age (Founded Decade)
38.53% of matched companies with a founding year started in the 2010s and 30.0% in the 2020s. The older end is larger than you might expect for an app toolkit: 20.89% predate 2000 and 7.01% predate 1960. That group includes banks and older firms that built customer apps with Ionic, such as Navy Federal, founded in 1933, and Bureau Veritas, founded in 1828.
What Industries Use Ionic the Most?
Software Development leads at 18.98%, then Technology, Information and Internet (13.18%), IT Services and IT Consulting (11.32%) and Financial Services (10.01%), based on our enriched company data. Real Estate (9.94%), Restaurants (9.52%) and Retail (8.28%) follow. Pharmaceutical Manufacturing (7.32%) and Spectator Sports (5.73%) are unusual rows for an app toolkit; in our sample, mea's pharmacy sites and Clupik's sports clubs are the likely source.
Restaurants using Ionic usually run an ordering app: Grupo Madero's PWA and Coco Bambu's app both render Ionic components, and 20 clean domains share one Portuguese-language delivery platform's page title. Banks and insurers on Ionic use it for customer portals, as Navy Federal, Standard Bank and Sammaan Capital do. Pharmacies using Ionic are often German mea pharmacies, where it arrives inside mea's chat widget rather than the pharmacy's own code.
Ionic Alternatives & Competitors
Ionic's neighbours in this table are mostly server frameworks: Microsoft ASP.NET (44.11%), Ruby on Rails (11.77%), Nuxt.js (10.24%) and Express (8.44%). None of them does Ionic's job. Ionic builds the app's interface and usually sits on top of Angular, which shows on 70.95% of Ionic domains. Its real alternatives, other ways to build cross-platform mobile apps, sit outside this table, so the share compares layers rather than rivals.

How We Counted Ionic Sites
A domain counts here when the page sets Ionic.config or Ionic.version. Ionic's core code creates that window.Ionic global when it starts, so the rule fires wherever the code runs, including inside other vendors' widgets. Our raw November count was 63,310 domains. We removed 55,717 of them, 88.0%, and 7,593 remain. Every chart and table on this page uses that number.
42,319 were HighLevel sites where Ionic only arrives inside a vendor's widget. HighLevel's LeadConnector chat widget bundles Ionic's core: we read the widget's code and found Ionic's start-up routine in it. On those pages window.Ionic exists and Ionic's platform classes land on the page, but no Ionic component appears outside the widget. In a 40-domain sample before the cut, 27 were HighLevel sites of this kind: estate agents, clinics, gyms and contractors that never chose Ionic. Their industry mix, led by construction and fitness, described HighLevel's customers, not Ionic's.
12,958 were casino-app clones: copies of one gambling app on throwaway domains, with no page title, Telegram's web-app script, an Alibaba captcha and asset hosts with scrambled names. They're real Ionic builds, but not businesses. The title filter removed 397 more for-sale and gambling pages, and we merged 49 www. addresses that duplicated a site's bare domain and 27 extra domains that redirect to a company's main site. Some domains carried two reasons.
What remains is mostly companies' own apps. In a fresh 40-domain check after the cuts, 25 ran their own Ionic app, among them MOCREO's sensor portal and a tenant portal for DBS Immobilienverwaltung, and 6 got Ionic through a platform. One of those 6 is the same shape as HighLevel on a small scale: German pharmacies on the mea platform get Ionic inside mea's chat widget. We left those in and say so here. A gambling residue remains too. 60 clean domains (0.79%) share six slot or casino titles, such as PhlBoss and QQ1221, and 5 of the 40 in that fresh check were gambling pages: two more casino-app clones, two redirecting QQ-brand domains and a betting exchange.
Expert Analysis: Ionic Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

I run the crawler that executes each page and records the globals it leaves, and Ionic is the clearest case this year of a true signal with the wrong meaning. The rule reads window.Ionic, which Ionic's core code creates whenever it starts. Our raw November 2026 crawl had 63,310 domains with it. After the cuts, 7,593 remain, 16th of 89 rows in Web Frameworks with 0.37%, and 3,990 match a company.
Where the other 88% went
42,319 were HighLevel sites. HighLevel's LeadConnector chat widget ships a copy of Ionic's core, so every page with the widget sets the global, though no Ionic component appears on the page itself. In a sample of 40 before the cut, 27 were exactly that: estate agents, clinics and gyms that never chose Ionic. Another 12,958 were clones of one casino app on throwaway domains. Both are real Ionic code. Neither is a company building with Ionic.
"The global was true on 63,310 domains. The choice was true on about one in eight." - David Thomson, CTO at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: on any widget-heavy signal, ask who shipped the code. A HighLevel customer is a prospect for HighLevel's rivals, not for Ionic tooling.
What's left
In a fresh 40-domain check, 25 ran their own Ionic app and 6 got it through a platform: Clupik's sports-club sites, a Shazamme recruitment site, a LiveMenu menu and mea's pharmacy chat widget. Most of the own apps sit on app. or portal. hosts: a tenant portal, a sensor dashboard, a tips app, an ERP. Angular shows on 70.95% of domains. Five of the 40 were still gambling pages, so a small residue remains.
Sales signal: an Ionic domain is usually a logged-in product, not a marketing site. Sell to the team that ships the app: testing, sign-in, push notifications and app-store tooling.
The large accounts
145 matched companies have more than 1,000 staff. Navy Federal, Bank Central Asia, Bureau Veritas, H&R Block, Standard Bank and Sammaan Capital all ran Ionic on 6 November 2026, each on one app or portal. Restaurants are 9.52% of the industry chart, mostly ordering apps such as Grupo Madero's and Coco Bambu's.
Sales signal: at a bank or restaurant chain, the Ionic subdomain names the product team. Start there, not with central IT.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who uses Ionic?
On our data, companies that ship a logged-in app on the web: customer portals, ordering and booking apps, dashboards. On 6 November 2026, Navy Federal, Bank Central Asia, Bureau Veritas, H&R Block, Grupo Madero and Coco Bambu all ran Ionic apps. We don't count the 42,319 HighLevel sites whose chat widget only carries a copy of Ionic's code.
How many customers does Ionic have?
We count 7,593 domains running Ionic in our November 2026 crawl, from a raw 63,310. We removed 88%: 42,319 HighLevel sites where Ionic only arrives inside a chat widget, 12,958 casino-app clones and several hundred for-sale, duplicate and alias domains. They're domains, not customers: Ionic is free, MIT-licensed software. 3,990 match a company.
What is Ionic's market share?
Ionic holds 0.37% of Web Frameworks at TechnologyChecker.io, 16th of 89 rows, on 7,593 domains. Remix is 15th with 8,934 and Adobe ColdFusion 17th with 6,193. Microsoft ASP.NET (44.11%) and Ruby on Rails (11.77%) lead. Those render pages on the server; Ionic builds an app's interface, so the rows measure different layers.
What are the best alternatives to Ionic?
Our Web Frameworks table is led by Microsoft ASP.NET (906,811 domains), Ruby on Rails (241,931), Nuxt.js (210,562) and Express (173,534), but none of them does Ionic's job. Ionic is a UI toolkit that sits on Angular, React or Vue, so its real alternatives are other ways to build cross-platform mobile apps, which sit outside this table.
Which countries use Ionic the most?
The United States, with 739 of the 3,990 companies we matched, then Germany (463), Spain (279), Brazil (250), France (230) and India (221). Platforms shape two of those: in our sample, Spanish entries include sports clubs on Clupik, whose sites run on Ionic, and German entries include pharmacies on mea, whose chat widget bundles it.
What size companies use Ionic?
Mostly small ones. 57.14% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 22.91% have 11 to 50. 145 have more than 1,000 staff, and they use Ionic for one app or portal each, as Navy Federal, H&R Block and Standard Bank do on the sites we checked.
How old are companies that use Ionic?
Mixed. 38.53% of matched companies with a founding year started in the 2010s and 30.0% in the 2020s, but 20.89% predate 2000 and 7.01% predate 1960. The older group includes banks and older firms that built customer apps with Ionic, such as Navy Federal and Bureau Veritas.
What is the ideal customer profile for Ionic?
On our data: a software, internet or IT services company with 1 to 10 staff, founded in the 2010s, in the US, Germany, Spain or Brazil, shipping an Ionic Angular app (Angular shows on 70.95% of domains) on an app or portal subdomain. A second profile is a bank, insurer or restaurant chain with one customer-facing Ionic app.
What is the Ionic Framework used for?
Building mobile and web apps from one codebase with web technology. Ionic's site calls it an open-source mobile UI toolkit for cross-platform apps in React, Vue or Angular. On our data it mostly runs logged-in apps: customer portals, ordering and booking apps and dashboards, usually on an app or portal subdomain rather than a marketing homepage.
Is the Ionic Framework still used?
Yes. Our November 2026 crawl finds 7,593 domains running an Ionic app, including Navy Federal, H&R Block and Bank Central Asia, and Ionic's documentation now includes an upgrade guide to version 9. The docs also describe Ionic as an OutSystems company. We don't chart a trend, because the cleaned count starts with this crawl.
Does Ionic work with Angular, React or Vue?
Yes, all three, per Ionic's site, or with no framework at all. Angular dominates on our data: it shows on 70.95% of Ionic domains, with Zone.js on 70.63%. Vue appears on 14.87% and React on 6.08%. A couple of sites in our checks still ran Ionic 3, which reports a version number to our rule; newer releases don't.
Why do so many HighLevel sites show up as using Ionic?
Because HighLevel's LeadConnector chat widget bundles Ionic's core code, which creates window.Ionic on every page that loads the widget, even though no Ionic component appears on the page. We read the widget's code to confirm it. Those sites didn't choose Ionic, so we removed all 42,319 of them from this count.
How can you tell if a site uses Ionic?
Open the browser console and check for window.Ionic, then look for Ionic components such as ion-app or other ion- elements on the page. If the global is there but no ion- element is, Ionic probably came inside a widget, such as HighLevel's or mea's chat. Ionic.version returns a value on old Ionic 3 apps, not on newer ones.
Is Ionic free?
Yes. Ionic Framework is open source under the MIT licence, per its GitHub repository, and installs from npm. Our count covers the open-source framework running in a page: 7,593 domains in November 2026. It can't tell whether a team also pays for anything around it.
