Companies Using Zone.js
Our October 2026 crawl finds Zone.js on 157,139 domains, and 83,190 of them match a company record. Zone.js is the change-detection helper Angular loaded by default until version 21, so the list of companies that use Zone.js below is mostly a list of sites running an Angular app: 85% of the clean live set also run Angular. It's a free library, so we count websites. Confirmed examples include Deloitte (my.deloitte.com), Freelancer and TD.
The usage chart has a cliff. We counted 962,258 domains in July and 155,170 in September, because Squarespace sites, which carried Zone.js in the platform's own page code, stopped loading it in August 2026. Zone.js ranks #9 of 69 in JavaScript Frameworks with a 2.2% share, though it's a dependency rather than a framework anyone picks.

Zone.js Usage Statistics
Our live crawl counted 962,258 Zone.js domains in July 2026, then 326,044 in August and 155,170 in September. That fall is one platform. Squarespace sites stopped loading Zone.js in August, and 849,531 of the 889,320 domains that have dropped it since we began tracking it on 16 March 2026 run on Squarespace. Five we opened in October had no Zone.js. October's 157,139 is the base after that change. Smaller moves in any month also reflect our side: the set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and newly found ones added, and our detection signals widen over time.
One leftover remains. 12,540 Squarespace domains are still counted live because the hostname that carried Zone.js hasn't been re-crawled since July, and the ones we sampled no longer load it. Treat about 144,600 (157,139 less 12,540) as the firmer October figure.
List of Companies Using Zone.js
Our list of companies using Zone.js covers 83,190 organisations matched from 157,139 domains. Most brands that use Zone.js in the named list run it on a portal, store or sign-in subdomain, the places large companies build Angular apps: my.deloitte.com, signin.adp.com, parts.cummins.com, trials.lilly.com.
We opened the detection URL for every row in the top 50 and removed two. Bayer's shareholder portal redirects to Computershare, which runs it, and the Lufthansa Group row had been matched to a small subsidiary's company record. Many websites using Zone.js in the list sit behind bot protection or a sign-in page, so we name only the ones we confirmed.

Which Countries Use Zone.js the Most?
Which countries use Zone.js the most? The United States leads with 18,962 matched companies, and Germany is close behind at 6,520, about one for every 2.9 in the US. For comparison, PrimeVue's ratio is 5,367 to 338. Brazil (4,920), India (4,883) and the United Kingdom (4,278) follow, and Colombia (1,846) sits level with the Netherlands (1,850), based on our enriched company data.
Share of the 83,190 Zone.js domains we matched to a company record — 52.9% of the 157,139 we detect. Top 15 countries shown, so these do not sum to 100%. Domains with no matching company record are not represented here and skew small and independent.
Zone.js Market Share Among JavaScript Frameworks
What is Zone.js's market share? Zone.js holds 2.2% of the JavaScript Frameworks category and ranks #9 of 69 in our data at TechnologyChecker.io. Read that as Angular's footprint rather than a choice between frameworks. Zone.js is loaded by an app or a platform, not picked over a rival, and 85.33% of its clean live domains also run Angular. That's also why this page has no competitor table.
Zone.js Customers by Company Size & Age
Is Zone.js used by large companies? Yes, though small firms are the core. 50.89% of matched companies have 1-10 employees, based on 77,550 companies with a size band, but 3,936 have more than 1,000. The large accounts usually run it on a portal, store or sign-in flow rather than the homepage: ADP on signin.adp.com, TD on ix0.apps.td.com and Deloitte on my.deloitte.com.
Company Size Distribution
Company Age (Founded Decade)
36.55% of matched companies with a founding year date from the 2010s and 22.59% from the 2020s. Older firms are well represented too: 8.49% predate 1960, and among them BASF (1865) and Eli Lilly (1876) both run Angular apps that load Zone.js, on products.basf.com and trials.lilly.com.
What Industries Use Zone.js the Most?
Software Development (6.88%) and IT Services and IT Consulting (6.03%) lead, then Financial Services at 4.63%. Add Banking (2.25%) and finance reaches 6.88%, level with software. The top ten industries cover only 36.66% of matched companies, so Zone.js, like Angular, turns up across almost every kind of business, based on our enriched company data.
Financial services companies using Zone.js show it on customer and partner portals: TD's ix0.apps.td.com, Caixa's judicial deposit service and FIS's Code Connect API marketplace all run Angular apps that load it. Real estate companies on Zone.js (3.68%) and hospitality businesses using Zone.js (2.92%) come next. In those industries, check whether the detection sits on the main site or a booking or listing subdomain before you pitch.

Microsoft ASP.NET runs on 10.55% and Express on 8.82%, the usual back ends for Angular in .NET and Node shops, and Ionic (3.71%) marks apps built with Ionic's mobile toolkit. core-js (52.45%) and jQuery (45.82%) are the most common libraries alongside it. Squarespace still shows on 8.75%, most of it the stale leftover described above. Amazon Web Services hosts 13.21% and Firebase 5.77%.

Expert Analysis: Zone.js Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

I worked on crawling at Bing before founding TechnologyChecker, and Zone.js is a signal that rewards reading the mechanism before the number. As of our October 2026 crawl, TechnologyChecker.io finds Zone.js on 157,139 domains, and 83,190 of them match a company record, a 52.9% match rate. Three months earlier the same rule counted 962,258, and most of the difference is one website builder changing its code.
What the signal catches
Our rule checks for the global Zone.root object, which Zone.js creates when it loads, and it doesn't care what loaded it. Zone.js is the change-detection helper Angular shipped by default until version 21, when zoneless became the default for new projects. So the count is mostly Angular apps: 130,110 of 152,475 clean live domains (85.33%) also run Angular. Another 4,369 show AngularJS, which doesn't use Zone.js itself, so those domains run a newer Angular app beside an old one or a hybrid of the two. The rest are sites where we didn't catch Angular itself, including the Squarespace leftovers described below.
Sales Signal: Read a Zone.js detection as "this domain runs a conventional, zone-based Angular app". That's narrower and more useful than "uses Angular", because it also tells you the team hasn't finished moving to zoneless change detection.
Growth trajectory: one platform left
Our current crawl window reads 929,185 Zone.js domains in June 2026, 962,258 in July, 326,044 in August, 155,170 in September and 157,139 in October. The fall is Squarespace. Its sites carried Zone.js in the platform's own page code until August, and of the 889,320 domains that have dropped Zone.js since we began tracking it on 16 March 2026, 849,531 run on Squarespace. I opened five of them in October, on both 7.0 and 7.1 templates, and none loaded Zone.js.
Outside that event, the usual caution applies. Counts are not a like-for-like series over time: the set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and newly found ones added, and our detection signals widen over time. One leftover needs flagging. 12,540 Squarespace domains are still counted live because the hostname that carried Zone.js hasn't been re-crawled since July, and the ones I sampled don't load it any more. Treat about 144,600 (157,139 less 12,540) as the firmer October figure.
"Zone.js lost 84% of its footprint in two months, and almost none of it was Angular teams leaving. When a library rides inside a platform, the platform's release notes move the count more than any developer decision." - Mehmet Suleyman, CEO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales Signal: Ignore the chart's cliff when you size an Angular market. Previously-used lists for Zone.js are almost entirely Squarespace sites, so they're no use as "former Angular users". Work from the October base and the Angular overlap instead.
Which Angular versions sit behind it
Angular writes its version into the page, so we can read it beside Zone.js. In the 30 days to 13 October 2026 our crawl read both on 119,658 domains. 68.13% of them (81,521) ran Angular 19 or older, outside Angular's support window: angular.dev lists only versions 20, 21 and 22 as supported, and long-term support for 20 ends on 28 November 2026. Angular 17 and 18 alone cover 20,501 domains. Upgrading hasn't removed Zone.js either. On Angular 21 and 22, 27,259 domains still load it and 8,114 don't, so 77.1% have kept it.
Sales Signal: This is the opening for Angular consultancies and modernisation vendors. Two-thirds of zone-based Angular sites run an unsupported version, and the ones on current versions still have the zoneless move ahead of them. Pair a Zone.js list with the version on each page and you have an upgrade pipeline.
The companies behind the domains
The matched base is small at the core and heavy at the top. 50.89% of companies with a size band have 1-10 employees, but 3,936 have more than 1,000, including 833 above 10,000. In our named list, large companies run Zone.js on portals, stores and sign-in flows: Deloitte on my.deloitte.com (Angular 21), ADP on signin.adp.com (Angular 10), TD on ix0.apps.td.com (Angular 16), Eli Lilly's trial finder (Angular 17), Boston Scientific's online store (Angular 21) and Cummins' parts catalogue (Angular 17). Freelancer is the rarer case of a main site, running Angular 20 on freelancer.com. By founding year, 36.55% date from the 2010s and 22.59% from the 2020s, while 8.49% predate 1960, BASF (1865) among them.
Sales Signal: At an enterprise, go to the team that owns the detected surface. A sign-in page on Angular 10 and a store on Angular 21 call for different pitches: the first is an upgrade project, the second a zoneless and performance conversation.
Industry and geography
The United States leads with 18,962 matched companies, and Germany is close for a front-end library at 6,520, about one for every 2.9 in the US; on PrimeVue's profile the ratio is 5,367 to 338. Brazil (4,920), India (4,883) and the United Kingdom (4,278) follow, and Colombia (1,846) sits level with the Netherlands (1,850). Software Development (6.88%) and IT Services (6.03%) lead the industry chart, and finance matches software once you add Financial Services (4.63%) and Banking (2.25%). The top ten industries cover just 36.66%, so this is a horizontal base.
Sales Signal: Germany is the second-largest Zone.js market in our data, which makes it a priority for agencies and staffing firms selling Angular skills in Europe. Banks and financial services firms are the natural vertical for modernisation offers.
Why there's no migration table
Teams don't choose Zone.js over a rival library; it arrives with Angular. A switching table would mislead. The overlaps say the same thing: of the domains that ever ran both, 136,956 run Angular and Zone.js together today, while Vue.js (5,341), React (4,768) and Svelte (1,495) overlap, most likely because one domain hosts several apps. The real move away from Zone.js happens inside Angular, when a team turns on zoneless change detection, and our rule sees that only as Zone.js disappearing from a site that keeps Angular. Component kits ride along too: PrimeTek's PrimeNG shares CSS class names with its Vue library, and the PrimeVue profile removed 6,845 such domains that had no Vue.js, many of them Angular apps.
"The migration worth selling into is zone-based Angular to zoneless Angular, and on the newest versions three in four sites haven't made it yet." - Mehmet Suleyman, CEO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales Signal: Pitch the zoneless migration, not a framework switch. Angular's own guide lists performance, Core Web Vitals and debugging as the gains, which gives a consultancy a business case it can quote.
The stack around it
Across 152,480 clean live domains, Microsoft ASP.NET runs on 10.55% and Express on 8.82%, the usual Angular back ends in .NET and Node shops. Ionic (3.71%) marks apps built with Ionic's mobile toolkit. core-js (52.45%) and jQuery (45.82%) are the most common libraries alongside it. Hosting leans to Amazon Web Services (13.21%), Firebase (5.77%) and Azure (5.24%), with Vercel at 1.85%. Squarespace still shows on 8.75%, most of it the stale leftover described above.
Sales Signal: The ASP.NET slice is the enterprise .NET buyer, with an Angular front end on a Microsoft back end. Firebase on 5.77% marks a smaller Google-stack group, a natural fit for vendors selling into Angular and Firebase teams.
How to use this list
Filter Zone.js plus Angular to drop the Squarespace leftovers, then read the Angular version on each detection URL; it sits in the page's ng-version attribute. Older versions point to upgrade work, Angular 21 or 22 with Zone.js still loaded to a zoneless migration. Add a size band of 51-1,000 employees (20.35% of matched companies) to reach mid-sized teams. A sign-in or portal subdomain points to an internal product team, a main-site hit to the web team.
A workable opener: "I noticed [surface] runs Angular [version] with Zone.js. Angular 21 made zoneless the default, and versions before 20 are out of support. Here's how [product] helps with the upgrade."

Frequently Asked Questions
Who uses Zone.js?
Mostly teams running Angular apps. 85.33% of clean live Zone.js domains also run Angular, and the users we confirmed in a browser include Deloitte, ADP, TD, Eli Lilly, Boston Scientific, Cummins and Freelancer. Half of matched companies (50.89%) have 1-10 employees, but 3,936 have more than 1,000. Until August 2026, Squarespace sites loaded it too.
How many customers does Zone.js have?
Zone.js is a free library, so we count websites. Our October 2026 crawl finds it on 157,139 domains, 83,190 of which match a company record. That's down from 962,258 in July, because Squarespace sites stopped loading it in August. 12,540 Squarespace domains are still counted but haven't been re-checked since July, so the real figure is a little lower.
What is Zone.js's market share?
Zone.js has 2.2% of the JavaScript Frameworks category in our data and ranks 9th of 69. The figure measures Angular's footprint more than a market: Zone.js is a dependency Angular loaded by default until version 21, and 85.33% of its clean live domains also run Angular. There's no competitor table on this page because teams don't choose Zone.js over a rival library.
Which countries use Zone.js the most?
United States leads with 18,962 matched Zone.js domains, followed by Germany (6,520), Brazil (4,920), India (4,883), United Kingdom (4,278). These are counts within the 83,190 domains we could match to a company record, not the full detected base.
What size companies use Zone.js?
Small companies make up the core, with a real enterprise tail. Of 77,550 matched companies with a size band, 50.89% have 1-10 employees and 74.58% have 50 or fewer. 3,936 have more than 1,000 employees, and they usually run Zone.js on portals rather than homepages, as ADP does on signin.adp.com and Deloitte on my.deloitte.com.
How old are companies that use Zone.js?
Among the Zone.js domains we could match to a company with a known founding date, the largest group was founded in the 2010s (36.55%), followed by the 2020s (22.59%). That matched subset is drawn from 83,190 companies and is not representative of all 157,139 detected domains. This suggests Zone.js is most popular among relatively young companies.
What is the ideal customer profile for Zone.js?
The ideal Zone.js customer is: Company Size: 1-10 employees (50.89%), Location: United States, then Germany, Brazil and India, Founded: 2010s (36.55%), Industry: Software, IT services and finance, Front-end Stack: Angular app (85.33% of domains) — based on our analysis of 83,190 enriched companies at TechnologyChecker.io.
What are the best alternatives to Zone.js?
Inside Angular, the alternative is zoneless change detection driven by signals, which is the default for new projects from Angular 21. Angular's guide says to remove zone.js from the polyfills and uninstall the package. Few sites have finished that move: on Angular 21 and 22, 77.1% of the domains we read in the 30 days to 13 October 2026 still load Zone.js.
What are zones in Angular and how are they used?
A zone is an execution context that Zone.js keeps across asynchronous work such as timers, promises and DOM events. Angular used it to learn when something might have changed and then run change detection. Angular's own guide names the cost: Zone.js can't tell whether state really changed, so it triggers checks more often than needed and adds payload and startup time.
How to remove zone.js from Angular project?
Angular's zoneless guide gives the steps. On Angular 21 and later zoneless is already the default, so check that provideZoneChangeDetection isn't overriding it; on version 20, add provideZonelessChangeDetection() at bootstrap. Then remove zone.js and zone.js/testing from the polyfills in angular.json, or the imports in polyfills.ts, and run npm uninstall zone.js. Components must notify Angular through signals, AsyncPipe or markForCheck.
Is anyone still using Angular?
Yes, at scale. Our October 2026 crawl finds 157,139 domains loading Zone.js, and 130,110 of the clean live ones also run Angular. That only counts apps still on Zone.js. Named users we confirmed include Deloitte, TD, ADP, Eli Lilly, Cummins and BASF. Most run older versions: of 119,658 domains where we read an Angular version, 68.13% were on Angular 19 or earlier.
Which companies are using Angular?
Among sites where we confirmed Angular and Zone.js in a browser in October 2026: Deloitte (my.deloitte.com, Angular 21), Freelancer (Angular 20), BASF's product finder, Boston Scientific's online store, Eli Lilly's trial finder, Cummins' parts site, TD, ADP's sign-in page, Xerox's App Gallery and France Travail. Large companies mostly use Angular for portals and internal tools rather than marketing homepages.
Does Angular 21 still use Zone.js?
Not for new projects: angular.dev says zoneless is the default from Angular 21. Upgraded apps mostly keep it, though. Across the domains where our crawl read Angular 21 or 22 in the 30 days to 13 October 2026, 27,259 still loaded Zone.js and 8,114 didn't, so 77.1% of the newest Angular sites haven't dropped it yet.
Does Squarespace use Zone.js?
Not any more. Squarespace sites carried Zone.js until August 2026, which is why our count fell from 962,258 domains in July to 155,170 in September. 849,531 of the domains that have dropped Zone.js since March run on Squarespace. Five Squarespace sites we opened in October 2026, on both 7.0 and 7.1 templates, had no Zone.js loaded at all.
Is Zone.js deprecated?
Not formally, but it's winding down. The Zone.js README in the Angular repository says it no longer accepts new features or low-priority bug fixes, while critical fixes tied to Angular's own use still land. It remains a supported part of Angular, and version 0.16.3 shipped on npm in September 2026. The Angular team discourages using it outside Angular apps.
How does TechnologyChecker.io detect Zone.js?
Our crawler loads each page in a browser and checks for the global Zone.root object, which Zone.js creates when it starts. That catches any page running Zone.js, whatever loaded it: an Angular app, an Angular widget embedded in another site or, until August 2026, Squarespace's page code. We read the Angular version separately, from the ng-version attribute Angular writes.
Which Angular versions still use Zone.js?
All of them can, and most sites that load it run older ones. Across 119,658 domains where our crawl read both Zone.js and an Angular version in the 30 days to 13 October 2026, 68.13% ran Angular 19 or older, outside Angular's support window. Versions 20 to 22, the ones still supported, account for 31.87%. Angular 17 and 18 alone cover 20,501 domains.
Is Zone.js free to use?
Yes. Zone.js is published on npm under the MIT licence and lives in the angular/angular repository on GitHub, so there's no price and no licence key. The cost is technical: Angular's zoneless guide lists payload size, startup time and harder debugging as reasons to remove it, which is why new Angular 21 projects leave it out.
