Companies Using Lodash
Our October 2026 crawl finds Lodash on 2,835,192 domains. That count leaves out 1,303,176 raw matches (31.5%), almost all of them sites whose _ global belongs to Underscore.js and which load no Lodash at all; the How We Counted note at the end of this page explains the fix. Where we can read a Lodash version, a website builder usually put it there: in the 45 days to 12 October, Wix's runtime carried 4.17.23 on 1,075,962 domains and GoDaddy Website Builder shipped 4.17.15 to 511,409. Below is the list of companies that use Lodash, checked in a browser, with size, country and industry data for the 1,749,736 domains we matched to a company.
On the cleaned count Lodash ranks #9 in JavaScript Libraries with a 3.22% share. Large companies tend to load their own, newer build. Accenture, Citigroup, Bank of America and Costco serve 4.18.1, the one release line with no published GitHub advisory when we checked on 12 October 2026. Lodash is free under the MIT license, so every count here is of sites, not paying customers.

Lodash Usage Statistics
One point: 2,835,192 live domains in October 2026, counted without the Underscore.js misreads and for-sale pages described at the end of this page. We don't chart earlier months because they were counted before that cleaning, and they included the Underscore sites, which make up 31.4% of today's raw count, so the line would describe our rule rather than Lodash. The count still misses Lodash that an app bundles without a global variable, which is how most modern JavaScript projects ship it, so read it as sites that expose Lodash to the page.

List of Companies Using Lodash
Our list of companies using Lodash names 50 of the 1,749,736 matched companies. We opened every detection URL in a browser on 12 October 2026. 34 exposed a Lodash global or loaded a Lodash file. 13 blocked our browser, timed out or returned an error, and 3 loaded without Lodash on the page we reached. We removed two rows, PwC's viewpoint.pwc.com and www.rbc.com, where the page's _ was Underscore.js and no Lodash loaded, and replaced them with AstraZeneca and ManpowerGroup, both checked.
Among the brands that use Lodash, 29 of the 50 were detected on a subdomain rather than the main site: community.ibm.com, customerservice.starbucks.com, rx.costco.com, privatebank.jpmorgan.com. When you review websites using Lodash at a large company, read the version too. Of the 32 that exposed it through the global, 18 ran 4.18.1 and 12 ran 4.17.21.

Which Countries Use Lodash the Most?
Which countries use Lodash the most? The United States leads with 687,866 matched domains, 4.45 times the United Kingdom's 154,519. Germany (103,883), Canada (77,682), Brazil (72,448) and Australia (71,422) follow. The four English-speaking countries in that list hold 991,489 of the 1,749,736 matched companies (56.7%). That spread looks like a map of small-business websites rather than of developer hubs, which fits a library that mostly arrives with a site builder.
Share of the 1,749,736 Lodash domains we matched to a company record — 61.7% of the 2,835,192 we detect. Top 15 countries shown, so these do not sum to 100%. Domains with no matching company record are not represented here and skew small and independent.
Lodash Market Share Among JavaScript Libraries
What is Lodash's market share? On the cleaned count, 3.22% of JavaScript Libraries and #9 by domain count at TechnologyChecker.io. Our category table still counts the raw figure, 4,159,481 domains, which puts Lodash at #7 with 4.63%. Underscore.js still ranks above it, and for the mirror-image reason: its rule also reads the shared _ global's version, so it shows up on 98.6% of cleaned Lodash domains. The table counts domains that carry a library, and for Lodash that mostly means the builder a site runs on.
Lodash Customers by Company Size & Age
Is Lodash only used by small businesses? Mostly, and that follows from how it arrives. 75.35% of matched companies have 1-10 employees and 93.09% have 50 or fewer, based on 1,579,684 companies with a size band. Above 1,000 employees there are still 10,347 companies, and the ones we checked load their own builds: Accenture, Citigroup and Costco served 4.18.1 on 12 October, JPMorgan's private bank 4.17.21.
Company Size Distribution
Company Age (Founded Decade)
40.99% of matched companies with a known founding year date from the 2010s and 27.02% from the 2020s, so 68.01% were founded in 2010 or later. The 2000s add 14.52%. 22,128 companies (2.95%) predate 1960, and that tail includes some of the oldest names in our list: Citigroup (1812), Deutsche Bank (1870) and Bosch (1886), whose psirt.bosch.com security portal loads Lodash 4.17.15.
What Industries Use Lodash the Most?
Construction leads at 5%, followed by Business Consulting and Services (4.31%) and Retail (3.76%). The ten industries charted add up to only 30.22%, so no vertical defines this base, based on our enriched company data. That flat spread is what a general-purpose website builder produces: trades, consultancies, shops and restaurants all carry the library their builder ships, whatever they sell.
For construction companies using Lodash (70,809) and real estate firms on Lodash (43,247), treat the detection as a website-platform signal and check the builder before pitching developer tooling. IT services companies using Lodash (32,778) are more likely to have picked it themselves. Among financial services brands using Lodash, Citigroup and Bank of America serve 4.18.1 from their own code, and Deutsche Bank's corporates.db.com and JPMorgan's private-bank site run 4.17.21.
Lodash Customer Migration
Tech Stack of Lodash-Powered Websites
Percentages are of the 2,835,200 cleaned live domains. React appears on 64.89% and Bootstrap on 46.88%, and the builders sit behind much of that: Wix runs on 40.62%, GoDaddy Website Builder on 19.77%, Duda on 7.9% and Jimdo on 3.6%, with GoDaddy hosting 30.39%. WordPress is down to 6.17% once the Underscore misreads are gone.
Underscore.js would top this list at 98.6%, but that is our Underscore rule reading Lodash's own _, not a second library, so it isn't charted. Next.js shows up on only 1.84%: modern React apps bundle Lodash without a global, our rule barely sees them, and this stack is the builders' far more than the developers'.

How We Counted Lodash Sites
A domain counts as a Lodash site if a page on it passes one of three tests in our rule: the browser global _ has differenceBy, a function only Lodash has; _ carries Lodash's template-settings import; or the page loads a script whose file name starts with lodash. The rule also reads _.VERSION to record a version. That read was meant only to label a detection, but in our crawl it creates one on its own, so a page whose _ is Underscore.js was being counted as Lodash.
Before computing anything, we removed 1,303,176 of the 4,138,368 live domains that matched, 31.5% of the raw count. 1,298,905 had a latest reading in the 1.x range, which is Underscore's numbering: Underscore's current release is 1.13.8, while Lodash's own 1.x line went out of support in 2013. We opened 65 randomly drawn domains from that group in a browser, and 54 loaded. None fetched a Lodash file or exposed a Lodash function, 48 had Underscore as _, and 40 were WordPress sites, which load Underscore on the front end. A further 11,958 domains had for-sale, parking or gambling titles; 7,687 of them were also in the Underscore group, which is why the two exclusions overlap.
Every chart and table on this page uses the remaining 2,835,192: domains that matched the rule and whose latest version reading, if any, was not Underscore's. Our JavaScript Libraries category table hasn't had this correction and still lists Lodash at 4,159,481 domains, #7 with 4.63%; on the cleaned count it is #9 with 3.22%. We chart only October 2026 because earlier monthly totals were counted before the cleaning. The same version read still adds Lodash sites to Underscore.js's count, which is why Underscore appears on 98.6% of the cleaned domains; that row is left out of the stack discussion. And the gap runs the other way too: Lodash compiled into an app bundle without a global, which is how most modern projects use it, is invisible to this rule.
Which Lodash Versions Do Websites Run?
This table has its own base. It covers every domain with a Lodash detection in the 45 days to 12 October 2026, keeping the latest reading for each, before the clean-up described above: 4,034,448 domains. 1,351,884 of them reported an Underscore.js version (the group removed from the headline, counted here over a different window), 41,799 reported none and 565 reported strings that aren't versions. The table covers the 2,640,200 that reported a Lodash version. Because the window and base differ from the 2,835,192 headline, compare shares rather than totals.
Most versions are a platform's fingerprint. 97.55% of 4.17.23 domains are Wix sites, 95.10% of 4.17.15 domains run GoDaddy Website Builder and 99.64% of 4.5.1 domains are Shopify stores. Duda accounts for 51.29% of the 4.18 line, and Jimdo for 88.39% of the 3.x domains. Only 15.06% of versioned domains run 4.18, the line with no published advisory; the 4.17.21 row also holds one domain reporting 4.17.22, a version npm never published.

Advisories are from GitHub's Advisory Database for the npm lodash package, read on 12 October 2026: CVE-2026-4800, CVE-2026-2950, CVE-2025-13465, CVE-2021-23337, CVE-2020-28500, CVE-2020-8203, CVE-2019-10744, CVE-2018-16487 and CVE-2018-3721. A withdrawn advisory is not counted. Release dates are from the npm registry, and support status from lodash.com's version support page, which supports only the latest 4.x release.
Read this as a hygiene signal, not a breach list. The 2026 advisories need an application to pass attacker-controlled input as _.template import key names, or as paths to _.unset and _.omit, and a builder's front-end runtime rarely does either. The version also says nothing about which functions a page calls. What it does show is how fast a platform updates a dependency: Duda already serves 4.18.1, released on 1 April 2026, while Wix's runtime is one release behind and GoDaddy Website Builder's 4.17.15 dates from July 2019.
Expert Analysis: Lodash Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

I read Lodash detections the way a sales team should, asking what a hit says about the company behind the domain. As of our October 2026 crawl, TechnologyChecker.io finds Lodash on 2,835,192 domains, and 1,749,736 of them match a company record, a 61.71% match rate. The short version: a Lodash hit rarely means a developer chose Lodash. Usually a website builder did.
What the signal catches, and what it misses
Our rule fires on _.differenceBy, a function only Lodash has, on a Lodash-specific template setting or on a script file named lodash, and it reads _.VERSION for the version. That version read turned out to create detections on its own, so pages whose _ is Underscore.js were landing in the Lodash count. We removed 1,298,905 such domains after none of the 54 we opened in a browser loaded Lodash, which took the raw 4,138,368 down to 2,835,192 together with 11,958 for-sale and gambling pages. The rule misses in the other direction as well: Lodash compiled into an app bundle, with no global, is invisible to it (our post on technology detection methods explains how signals like these are matched). The note at the end of this page has the full counts.
Most Lodash arrives with a website builder
The version string is a builder's fingerprint. In the 45 days to 12 October, 1,075,962 Wix sites reported 4.17.23 and 511,409 GoDaddy Website Builder sites reported 4.17.15. Duda accounted for 203,948 domains on 4.18, Shopify stores for 145,642 on 4.5.1, a build from February 2016, and Jimdo for 64,810 on Lodash 3.x. Together that is 2,001,771 of the 2,640,200 domains reporting a Lodash version (75.82%), each one a platform running its own signature version.
"Three in four Lodash detections tell you which platform built the site and nothing about the team that runs it. The version string is the part worth reading." - Mehmet Suleyman, CEO and Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales Signal: Use Lodash as a platform proxy, not an engineering signal. Filter out Wix, GoDaddy Website Builder, Duda, Shopify and Jimdo first. What remains is the much smaller group that ships Lodash in its own code, and that is where developer-tool and security conversations make sense.
Growth trajectory
We publish one clean point, October 2026. Earlier monthly totals were counted before we removed the Underscore misreads, which make up 31.4% of today's raw count, so a chart would track our rule rather than Lodash. From here the cleaned count builds a series, and even then counts are not a like-for-like series over time: the set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and newly found ones added, and our detection signals widen over time.
Our records show 476,191 domains dropping the Lodash signal on at least one hostname since we began tracking it on 16 March 2026. That figure is on the uncleaned basis, Underscore misreads included, so it is an upper bound and not a lifetime total; when I re-checked on 12 October, about 15% of the droppers (72,077 of 475,975) still carried the signal on another hostname.
Sales Signal: Size territories on the October count and don't trigger "just adopted Lodash" outreach from a first detection. A newly detected Lodash domain is most likely a new Wix or GoDaddy site.
The companies behind the domains
The matched base is small and young. 75.35% of companies with a size band have 1-10 employees, and 68.01% of those with a founding year date from 2010 or later. Construction (5%), Business Consulting (4.31%) and Retail (3.76%) lead an industry list whose top ten add up to only 30.22%. That is the customer profile of a consumer website builder.
The 10,347 companies above 1,000 employees behave differently. I opened all 50 detection URLs in our list on 12 October: 34 showed a Lodash global or file, and 29 of the 50 sit on a subdomain, such as community.ibm.com, rx.costco.com or privatebank.jpmorgan.com. Of the 32 that exposed a version through the global, 18 ran 4.18.1 and 12 ran 4.17.21. Lodash publishes no customer list, so none of this is vendor-confirmed.
Sales Signal: At an enterprise, go to the team that owns the detected surface. A support portal or customer-service site with its own Lodash build belongs to a product team, which is a better audience for dependency or front-end tooling than central IT.
Why this profile has no migration or competitor table
Utility libraries don't occupy an exclusive slot, so one doesn't replace another the way a CMS does. jQuery shows it: of the 2,514,651 domains we've seen running both, 2,148,185 still run both. Underscore.js, Lodash's ancestor, can't be compared fairly either, because our Underscore rule reads Lodash's _ and shows up on 98.6% of cleaned Lodash domains. The realistic alternatives are code changes invisible from outside: native JavaScript methods, or es-toolkit, which advertises a compatibility layer for replacing Lodash. A library usually leaves a site with a rebuild.
"Nobody migrates off Lodash in a way a crawler can see. Sites drop it when they're rebuilt, or when their builder updates its runtime." - Mehmet Suleyman, CEO and Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales Signal: Skip "teams leaving Lodash" campaigns. If you sell a replacement library or a modernisation service, the version is the better trigger: a company serving 4.17.21 or older from its own code is running a Lodash release from February 2021 or earlier.
Reading the stack
React appears on 64.89% of Lodash domains and Bootstrap on 46.88%. Wix (40.62%) and GoDaddy Website Builder (19.77%) are behind much of that, together 60.39% of the base, and GoDaddy hosting covers 30.39%. Duda adds 7.9% and Jimdo 3.6%, while WordPress is down to 6.17% after the clean-up. Next.js shows up on just 1.84%, because modern React apps bundle Lodash without a global and barely register here.
Sales Signal: For web agencies, the Wix and GoDaddy overlap is the real list: small businesses on builder templates. For developer-tool vendors, filter to domains running Lodash with Next.js or Nuxt.js. That group is small, but it wrote its own front end.
Version hygiene is the useful angle
GitHub's advisory database lists two advisories, published on 1 April 2026, that cover every 4.x release up to 4.17.23 and are fixed in 4.18.0; older builds carry more. Only 15.06% of the 2,640,200 domains reporting a Lodash version run 4.18. Wix's 4.17.23 is one release behind, and GoDaddy Website Builder's 4.17.15 dates from July 2019. On a builder's front end the vulnerable functions rarely see user input, so this is a hygiene signal about the platform, not proof a site can be attacked. The OpenJS Foundation's January 2026 post describes the new security triage group and technical steering committee behind the recent releases.
Sales Signal: Security and dependency-scanning vendors should target companies that serve Lodash from their own code on 4.17.21 or older. 13 of the 32 checked companies in our list did on 12 October, and the version is visible to anyone who opens the page, which makes it a checkable opener.
How to use this list
Start from domains that report a Lodash version, drop the builder platforms, then filter to 51-1,000 employees, where companies are big enough to run their own front end. Read the detection URL last: a support or login subdomain usually means a product team's own app.
A workable opener: "Your [surface] serves Lodash [version], which GitHub's advisory database lists as affected by [advisory]. Here is how [product] keeps front-end dependencies current."

Frequently Asked Questions
Who uses Lodash?
Mostly small businesses whose website builder ships it. Of domains where we can read a Lodash version, Wix's runtime accounts for 1,075,962 on 4.17.23 and GoDaddy Website Builder for 511,409 on 4.17.15. Large companies load their own builds: Accenture, Citigroup and Costco serve 4.18.1, Starbucks and JPMorgan's private bank 4.17.21. In all, we count 2,835,192 domains.
How many customers does Lodash have?
Lodash is free, so it has users rather than customers. Our October 2026 crawl finds it on 2,835,192 domains, 1,749,736 matched to a company, after removing 1,303,176 raw matches: 1,298,905 Underscore.js sites our rule misread as Lodash, plus for-sale and gambling pages. Lodash bundled into apps without a global variable isn't counted, so real use is wider.
What is Lodash's market share?
3.22% of JavaScript Libraries on our cleaned count, #9 by domains. Our category table still shows the raw figure, 4,159,481 domains at #7 with 4.63%, because it includes Underscore.js sites the Lodash rule misreads. Underscore ranks above Lodash for the mirror-image reason: its rule reads Lodash's _ too, so it appears on 98.6% of cleaned Lodash domains.
Which countries use Lodash the most?
The United States leads with 687,866 matched domains, followed by the United Kingdom (154,519), Germany (103,883), Canada (77,682), Brazil (72,448) and Australia (71,422). These counts cover the 1,749,736 domains we matched to a company. The US alone has 4.45 times the UK's count, a pattern that follows small-business websites more than developer hubs.
What size companies use Lodash?
Small ones, overwhelmingly. 75.35% of matched companies with a size band have 1 to 10 employees and 17.74% have 11 to 50, so 93.09% have 50 or fewer, the typical website-builder customer. 10,347 companies have more than 1,000 staff. 29 of the 50 companies in our list were detected on a subdomain, such as a support, pharmacy or login site.
How old are companies that use Lodash?
Most are young. 40.99% of matched companies with a known founding year date from the 2010s and 27.02% from the 2020s, together 68.01%, and the 2000s add 14.52%. 22,128 companies, 2.95%, were founded before 1960. That older tail includes Citigroup, Deutsche Bank and Bosch, all of which we saw loading Lodash on a company site in October 2026.
What is the ideal customer profile for Lodash?
The ideal Lodash customer is: Company Size: 1-10 employees (75.35%), Location: US, UK, Germany or Canada, Founded: 2010 or later (68.01%), Industry: Construction, consulting and retail, Website Platform: Wix or GoDaddy Website Builder — based on our analysis of 1,749,736 enriched companies at TechnologyChecker.io.
What are the best alternatives to Lodash?
For new code, the main alternative is the language itself, since modern JavaScript covers many Lodash helpers natively. Libraries include es-toolkit, which offers a Lodash compatibility layer, Ramda for functional style, and Underscore.js, Lodash's ancestor. We don't publish a switching table: utility libraries stack, with jQuery and Lodash together on 2,148,185 domains, and sites mostly drop them in rebuilds.
Do people still use Lodash?
Yes, at large scale, though often without choosing it. npm lists 4.18.1 as current, released on 1 April 2026, and the OpenJS Foundation described a new technical steering committee and security triage group for Lodash in January 2026. On websites it mostly arrives inside builders: Duda serves the 4.18 line to 203,948 domains and Wix ships 4.17.23.
Is Lodash still needed?
For new projects, often not. Modern JavaScript has many helpers that once needed Lodash, such as Array.prototype.flat, Object.entries and structuredClone, and es-toolkit covers much of the rest. Existing sites are another matter: 1,936,961 of the 2,640,200 domains reporting a Lodash version get it from Wix, GoDaddy Website Builder, Duda or Shopify, according to our 45-day readings.
What is Lodash used for?
Lodash supplies utility functions for arrays, objects, strings and functions: deep cloning, merging, grouping, debouncing and safe access to nested properties are typical jobs. On the websites we crawl, most copies serve a website builder's runtime rather than hand-written code. At large companies it usually sits inside a bundled app, such as a support portal, a pharmacy site or a login page.
Is Lodash 4.17.23 vulnerable?
Yes, according to GitHub's advisory database. Two advisories published on 1 April 2026 cover versions up to 4.17.23: CVE-2026-4800, code injection through _.template import key names (high), and CVE-2026-2950, prototype pollution in _.unset and _.omit (medium). Version 4.18.0 fixes both. We read 4.17.23 on 1,102,972 domains, 1,075,962 of them Wix sites.
What is the difference between Lodash and lodash-es?
They are the same library packaged two ways. The lodash package on npm ships Lodash as CommonJS modules, while lodash-es is Lodash exported as ES modules, so bundlers can drop the functions an app never imports. Both are at 4.18.1 on npm. Our detection reads the browser global, so it can't see lodash-es code that a bundler has compiled into an app.
Is Lodash free and available on npm?
Yes on both counts. lodash.com says Lodash is released under the MIT license, the LICENSE file names the OpenJS Foundation and other contributors as copyright holders, and the package is on npm as lodash, with lodash-es for ES modules. There is no paid tier. lodash.com's version-support page points teams stuck on unsupported versions to HeroDevs' Never-Ending Support.
What does _ mean in JavaScript, Lodash or Underscore?
By convention _ is the global name both Lodash and Underscore.js use, so on a given page it can belong to either. That tripped our Lodash rule: 1,298,905 live domains whose _ reported an Underscore version were counted as Lodash until we removed them. We opened 54 of those pages in a browser and none loaded Lodash; 48 had Underscore as _.
How does TechnologyChecker.io detect Lodash?
Our rule looks for the Lodash-only function _.differenceBy, a Lodash-specific template setting, or a script file named lodash, and reads the version from _.VERSION. Because that version read also triggered detections on Underscore.js pages, we drop domains whose version is Underscore's. Lodash compiled into an app bundle with no global is missed, so real use is wider than 2,835,192.
