Companies Using React Router

React Router runs on 392,715 domains, making it the fourth largest technology in JavaScript Frameworks and the most widely deployed routing library on the web. It is not a framework in the sense that Angular or Vue are; it is the piece almost every non-trivial React application uses to decide which screen to show.

Because React Router writes its version into the page, we can read the release on 99.99% of detections. Version 6 holds 57.34% of version-graded domains, version 7 holds 40.12%, and version 8 has reached 2.53%. Version 7 is the release that absorbed Remix, so that 40.12% is the clearest available measure of how far a major consolidation in the React ecosystem has actually travelled.

React Router also turns out to be the best instrument we have for measuring something else: how much of React the web's React detection is missing. A site cannot run React Router without running React, yet we find a React signal on only 11.99% of React Router domains.

React Router Usage Statistics

Our current crawl window runs from 260,612 domains in June 2026 to 392,715 in August 2026. That climb is a coverage story, not an adoption story. The set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and newly discovered ones added, and our detection signals widen over time. No routing library adds half its footprint in eight weeks.

Treat the latest point as a floor: at least 392,715 live domains were serving React Router when we last visited them.

There are 392,715 companies and websites using React Router, sign up to download the entire React Router dataset.

Like most client-side libraries, React Router shows up on the interactive edges of a large business rather than its homepage: card.apple.com, appointments.wellsfargo.com, accountmanager.ford.com, ebanking-de.ubs.com and bob.ibm.com. We confirmed three of these directly in a browser and read version 7.18.3 on Sanofi, and version 6 on both Uber and Apple Card.

Which Countries Use React Router the Most?

The United States takes 28.71% of matched React Router companies and India 11.68%, the highest Indian share of the three technologies we profiled alongside it. Brazil (7.19%) and the United Kingdom (6.63%) follow. The spread tracks where contemporary React work is being done rather than where the largest companies are.

React Router Market Share Among JavaScript Frameworks

React Router holds 5.7% of JavaScript Frameworks at rank 4, behind React, Vue.js and AMP. Its position in this table is slightly misleading, because React Router does not compete with the entries above it. It runs on top of the first one.

The comparison that matters is against React's own count, and it does not hold together: React Router requires React, so React's true footprint cannot be smaller than React Router's plus every React site that routes some other way.

React Router Customers by Company Size & Age

React Router's base is small-company weighted even by the standards of developer tooling. 64.52% employ 1-10 people and only 5.15% employ more than 200, against 13.97% for Angular in the same crawl.

The large companies that do appear are unmissable, though: IBM, Apple, Ford, Wells Fargo, Uber, UBS and Roche all serve React Router from production subdomains.

What Industries Use React Router the Most?

Software Development (7.75%), IT Services and IT Consulting (7.43%) and Technology, Information and Internet (6.08%) take the top three places and together account for 21.26% of matched companies. That is a heavier technology concentration than we see on Angular, where the same three reach 17.83%.

Software Development16,577 (17.67%)
IT Services and IT Consulting15,908 (16.95%)
Technology, Information and Internet13,008 (13.86%)
Financial Services8,321 (8.87%)
Business Consulting and Services8,085 (8.62%)
Advertising Services6,202 (6.61%)

The absence of a strong regulated-industry tail is the difference. Financial Services reaches 3.89% here against 4.67% on Angular, and Banking does not make the top ten at all. React Router is being adopted by companies that build software as their product, rather than by institutions that maintain software as an obligation.

React Router Alternatives & Competitors

This table is a category ranking, and for React Router it is close to meaningless as a shortlist. React is a dependency, not an alternative. Vue.js and AngularJS belong to different ecosystems entirely, and Mustache is a templating library.

React Router's real alternatives are the routers built into full-stack React frameworks, which we detect as those frameworks rather than as separate routing products, so no honest head-to-head number exists in this category.

React Router Customer Migration

Tech Stack of React Router-Powered Websites

React Router sits inside the most coherent stack we measure. Tailwind CSS appears on 69.23% of its domains, Lucide on 49.99%, Radix UI on 43.92% and shadcn/ui on 39.76%. Those four are not independent choices: shadcn/ui is built on Radix primitives, styled with Tailwind, and ships Lucide icons by default. Finding them together is confirmation that a large share of React Router's base was scaffolded from the same modern template.

React itself appears on just 11.99%, which is a fact about our React detection rather than about React Router's dependencies.

Expert Analysis: React Router Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

David Thomson
David ThomsonCTO, TechnologyChecker

React Router is a routing library, which sounds like the least interesting thing in a modern JavaScript stack. It turns out to be the most useful measuring instrument we have, for a reason that has nothing to do with routing: a site cannot run React Router without running React. That single dependency makes React Router a ground truth against which every other React signal can be checked.

The headline first. TechnologyChecker.io detects React Router on 392,715 domains, fourth in JavaScript Frameworks at 5.7% of the category. Its version is written into the page, so we read a release number on 99.99% of detections, which is the highest version-capture rate of anything we publish. Version 6 holds 57.34%, version 7 holds 40.12%, and version 8 has reached 2.53%.

That version 7 figure is worth pausing on, because version 7 is where Remix was folded into React Router. The merge was announced as the consolidation of two overlapping projects, and 40.12% of the installed base has arrived at it. As adoption curves for a major version go, that is fast.

What has not happened is the part everyone assumed would follow. We looked at every domain where we detect Remix and asked which React Router version sits alongside it. 86.3% carry React Router version 6, which is the router bundled inside Remix 2. Three carry version 7. Not three percent; three domains. Deployed Remix is still Remix 2, and the migration path into React Router 7 that the merge was supposed to open has essentially no traffic on it yet.

Remix is not a separate routing population. On the evidence of live domains it is React Router version 6 wearing a different name, and the consolidation exists in the repository rather than on the web.

Now the finding that made this profile worth writing. React Router requires React. So on any domain where we detect React Router, React is present by definition. We detect a React signal on 11.99% of them.

The scale of the gap is easier to see historically. Across 344,714 domains that have at some point shown both React and React Router, only 54,542 still show both today. 258,748 have lost the React signal while keeping React Router. Those sites did not remove React; removing React would have taken React Router with it. Our React detection simply stopped seeing them.

We checked this the only way that settles it, by loading pages in a real browser rather than reading markup. On Sanofi, Uber and Apple Card, React Router was present every time, reporting versions 7.18.3, 6 and 6 respectively. On all three, no React global was exposed at all. Three out of three agreed with the corpus.

The mechanism is not mysterious. React's detection leans on markers that modern React no longer leaves behind, most notably a root-container property that disappeared when React 18 changed how applications mount. A site upgrading React does not become less React; it becomes less visible. Corpus-wide, React has lost its signal on 1.31 million domains, a 30.65% drop rate, against 10.57% for React Router and 6.52% for Angular. The largest technology in the category is also the one decaying fastest, and one of those two facts is about the web while the other is about our rule.

React Router puts a floor under React that React's own detection cannot reach: at least 392,715 live domains are running React right now, and only 12% of them say so.

This has a practical consequence for anyone using technographic data on the React ecosystem, ours included. Do not size the React market from a React signal. Size it from the things React cannot run without, or from the things that cannot run without React. React Router is the best of those instruments because its own detection is nearly perfect: a version string on 99.99% of hits leaves very little room for a false positive.

The rest of the profile is a portrait of contemporary React work, and it is strikingly uniform. Tailwind CSS appears on 69.23% of React Router domains, Lucide on 49.99%, Radix UI on 43.92% and shadcn/ui on 39.76%. Those are not four independent decisions. shadcn/ui is built on Radix primitives, styled with Tailwind, and ships Lucide icons as its default set, so a team that runs one typically runs all four. Roughly two in five React Router applications were scaffolded from the same template.

The companies behind them are young and small. 64.52% employ ten people or fewer and only 5.15% employ more than 200, against 13.97% for Angular. 41.42% were founded in the 2020s and just 1.88% before 1960, where Angular's pre-1960 share is 8.72%. Set the two profiles side by side and you get the clearest picture of the split in front-end work that we can produce from crawl data: Angular maintained by old institutions on old versions, React Router adopted by new companies on new ones.

Geographically the United States takes 28.71% and India 11.68%, the strongest Indian share in this batch, with Brazil at 7.19% and the United Kingdom at 6.63%. Germany, which supplies 10.50% of Angular's base, reaches only 3.98% here. Software Development, IT Services and Technology together account for 21.26% of matched companies, against 17.83% on Angular, and Banking does not reach React Router's top ten at all.

The large enterprises that do appear are worth naming because they contradict the small-company averages: IBM, Apple, Ford, Wells Fargo, Uber, UBS, Roche, Medtronic, Morgan Stanley and DHL all serve React Router from production subdomains. As with Angular, the detections land on the transactional edges of the business, on appointments.wellsfargo.com, accountmanager.ford.com and ebanking-de.ubs.com, rather than on the corporate homepage.

We publish no switching figures on this page. React Router's category neighbours are either its own dependency or members of other ecosystems, and every candidate corridor failed once it was measured against how often the other technology's signal disappears everywhere else. A migration claim has to beat that base rate to mean anything, and none of these did.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who uses React Router?

We detect React Router on 392,715 domains, including IBM, DHL Express, Wells Fargo & Co.. A detection means the technology is present on that domain, which for large organisations is often a single storefront or subdomain rather than a company-wide deployment. Among domains we matched to a company with a resolved industry, the most common is Software Development (17.67%).

How many customers does React Router have?

We detect 392,715 domains running React Router across our monthly crawl of live business domains. Company data could be matched for 232,272 of them (59.1%), and every company-size, industry and country breakdown on this page describes that matched subset rather than the full detected base. A further 53,421 domains carried a React Router detection previously and no longer do.

What is React Router's market share?

React Router holds 5.7% of the JavaScript Frameworks category, ranking #4. This is a share of the domains we detect running a platform in this category — not a share of all websites, and not a share of spending — so it is not directly comparable to figures published on other denominators.

What are the best alternatives to React Router?

The realistic alternatives are the routers built into full-stack React frameworks, along with newer standalone routers. We detect those framework routers as part of the framework rather than as separate products, so our category table cannot give you a fair head-to-head. React appearing above React Router in that table is a dependency, not a competitor.

Which countries use React Router the most?

The United States accounts for 28.71% of matched companies and India for 11.68%, the strongest Indian representation among the technologies in this batch. Brazil follows at 7.19% and the United Kingdom at 6.63%. Germany, which is prominent in Angular's base at 10.50%, reaches only 3.98% here.

What size companies use React Router?

64.52% of matched companies employ 1-10 people and only 5.15% employ more than 200, which is the smallest large-company share of the technologies we profiled this week. Angular reaches 13.97% on the same measure. The exceptions are conspicuous, with IBM, Apple, Ford, Wells Fargo and UBS all running it in production.

How old are companies that use React Router?

41.42% of matched companies were founded in the 2020s and 36.95% in the 2010s, so 78.37% were founded from 2010 onwards. Only 1.88% predate 1960, against 8.72% of Angular companies measured in the same crawl. React Router adoption is concentrated almost entirely in companies born alongside modern JavaScript tooling rather than in long-established institutions.

What is the ideal customer profile for React Router?

A software, IT services or internet company founded since 2010, usually under fifty people, based in the United States, India, Brazil or the United Kingdom, building a client-rendered React application. Its stack almost certainly includes Tailwind CSS, and quite likely Radix UI and shadcn/ui alongside it.

How many websites use React Router?

TechnologyChecker.io detects React Router on 392,715 domains in the current crawl, ranking it fourth in JavaScript Frameworks with 5.7% of the category. Of those, 232,272 match a company record we can profile. The count reflects domains where we saw React Router on our most recent visit, so treat it as a floor rather than a complete census of the web.

Which version of React Router do most sites run?

Version 6 leads with 57.34% of version-graded domains, version 7 follows at 40.12%, and version 8 has reached 2.53%. React Router writes its version into the page, so we read a release number on 99.99% of detections, which makes this one of the most reliably graded version distributions we publish anywhere.

Has the Remix merge into React Router 7 actually happened?

Not on deployed sites yet. Of domains where we detect Remix, 86.3% also carry a React Router version 6 signal, which is the router bundled inside Remix version 2. Only three carry React Router version 7. Remix in production is overwhelmingly still Remix 2, whatever the project roadmap says.

Why does React appear on only 12% of React Router sites?

Because our React detection is missing them, not because they lack React. React Router cannot run without React. Across 344,714 domains that once showed both, 258,748 have since lost the React signal while keeping React Router. We checked three well-known React Router sites in a browser and none exposed a React global.

Is React Router a framework or a library?

Both, depending on version. Through version 6 it was a routing library you added to a React application. Version 7 introduced a framework mode with server rendering and data loading, absorbing what Remix used to provide. Our category places it under JavaScript Frameworks, though most of its installed base still uses it as a library.

What technologies are used alongside React Router?

Tailwind CSS appears on 69.23% of React Router domains, Lucide on 49.99%, Radix UI on 43.92% and shadcn/ui on 39.76%. These travel together by design, since shadcn/ui is built on Radix, styled with Tailwind and ships Lucide icons. Cloudflare sits in front of 55.54% of the base.

How many domains have dropped React Router?

53,421 domains have dropped React Router since we began tracking it in March 2026, a 10.57% loss rate against its live base. Some of that is genuine churn and some is a client-side signal not being present when we happened to look. This is observed movement since we started watching, not a lifetime total.
