Companies Using Vercel

We detect Vercel on 389,653 active domains, which makes it the second-largest platform in the PaaS category on a 16.64% share, behind only AWS. Vercel is infrastructure rather than an app with a login screen, so it is worth knowing what puts a domain on this list: a Vercel response header such as x-vercel-id, nameservers delegated to Vercel DNS, or a script served from a vercel.app deployment.

Vercel was founded in 2015 as ZEIT by Guillermo Rauch, took its current name in April 2020, and raised $300 million at a $9.3 billion valuation in September 2025 in a Series F co-led by Accel and GIC. It also maintains Next.js, downloaded more than 500 million times in a twelve-month window, which is more than the framework managed in total between 2016 and 2024. Keep that ownership in mind when you reach the stack table, because it is the reason that table looks the way it does.

We checked a random sample of 100 of these domains by hand. 85% carried a first-party Vercel signal, 84% through response headers and 10% through Vercel DNS. The remaining 15 were blocked by a CDN, unreachable, or had already moved to another host, so they are inconclusive rather than wrong. That puts Vercel between Azure at 91.9% and AWS at 67.7% on the same test.

The third-party risk here is small and we measured it rather than assuming. A script loaded from somebody else's vercel.app deployment would attribute their account to your domain, but the largest shared vercel.app host we see appears on just 766 domains, under 0.2% of the total. On the AWS page the equivalent vector accounts for roughly a third of the count, which is why these two numbers should not be read the same way.

Vercel Usage Statistics

Our series for Vercel runs from 283,959 active domains in June 2026 to 389,653 in August 2026, and that rise is our coverage expanding rather than Vercel growing by 37% in a quarter. Active and total domains climb together across all three months, which is the signature of a crawler widening its reach, not of adoption. Read the August figure as the current count and ignore the slope.

There is no long-run history behind this profile. Vercel is detected under an identifier that carries no usable archive, so we publish only the months we have actually observed rather than splicing a series we cannot stand behind.

List of Companies Using Vercel

TechnologyChecker.io draws the list below only from domains where we re-confirmed a live Vercel response header at the exact hostname where we detected it. We tested the 70 largest by headcount and 62 confirmed. The eight that did not are not evidence against Vercel: most sit behind Cloudflare, which replaces the origin's headers, so they are unreadable rather than negative.

There are 389,653 companies and websites using Vercel, sign up to download the entire Vercel dataset.

Here are some of the most recognisable companies using Vercel and brands using Vercel in 2026, each re-confirmed by a live Vercel header on their own hostname:

  • Northrop Grumman – Vercel headers on the aerospace and defence group's own domain
  • Philips – Vercel serving the hearing solutions property
  • Sodexo – Vercel headers on the food services group's apex domain
  • ASML – Vercel on the semiconductor equipment maker's web estate
  • AECOM – Vercel headers on the infrastructure consultancy's domain
  • WTW – Vercel serving the risk and broking group

The pattern in the enterprise rows is consistent: these are marketing, careers and campaign properties rather than core transactional systems. A Vercel detection on a large company is a signal about who builds its public web presence, which is usually a different budget and a different buyer from its cloud contract.

Which Countries Use Vercel the Most?

The United States accounts for 29.53% of enriched Vercel domains, a notably lower concentration than AWS at 41.76%. The striking row is second place: India at 9.45%, roughly double its share of the AWS list. Brazil at 6.16% also over-indexes. Vercel's distribution looks like where new web development happens rather than where enterprise IT budgets sit.

Vercel Market Share Among PaaS

Vercel holds 16.64% of the PaaS category at 389,653 domains, second of 41 behind AWS on 39.98% and ahead of WordPress.com, Azure and Firebase. The gap to AWS is 2.4 to 1 on raw domains, but the two counts are not built the same way: 85% of Vercel detections are first-party against 67.7% for AWS, so on confirmed signals the real gap is narrower than the headline suggests.

TechnologyChecker.io ranks the category on live detections rather than on vendor revenue, so this table answers where software is deployed, not who books the biggest cloud contracts. Against Netlify, the closest comparison in both product and detection method, Vercel is ahead 2.5 to 1 (389,653 against 154,481).

Vercel Customers by Company Size & Age

89.73% of enriched Vercel domains belong to companies under 50 staff, and only 0.89% to companies above 1,000. Set that against the same cut on Azure, which is 7.49% above 1,000, and on AWS at 2.56%. All three are detected through response headers and DNS in the same category in the same month, so the comparison is like for like, and Vercel is decisively the small-team platform of the three.

Company Size Distribution

Company Age (Founded Decade)

What Industries Use Vercel the Most?

Software Development leads at 10.15%, followed by Technology and Internet at 7.61% and IT Services at 7.27%. Together with Advertising and Marketing Services, roughly a third of the list is people who build websites for a living. That is a real ICP, and it is the opposite of the flat distribution on the AWS profile where nothing reaches double figures.

Software Development24,374 (10.15%)

IT Services and IT Consulting17,456 (7.27%)
Business Consulting and Services7,976 (3.32%)
Advertising Services7,750 (3.23%)
Financial Services7,285 (3.04%)

The agency presence is worth reading carefully for prospecting. Advertising Services (3.23%), Marketing Services (2.21%) and Design Services (1.45%) together are 6.89% of the list, and those companies typically deploy client work rather than their own product. One agency account can sit behind many domains in this data, so treat agency rows as a channel rather than as single-site accounts.

Vercel Alternatives & Competitors

Vercel's competitive set splits in two. AWS, Azure and Firebase are general-purpose clouds that happen to serve web applications; Netlify is the direct competitor, same product shape and same detection surface. Vercel leads Netlify 2.5 to 1 and, in our churn data, takes more than three domains from Netlify for every one it loses.

Vercel Customer Migration

Vercel is net positive on every corridor we measured, which is unusual. It gained 2,100 domains from AWS against 634 lost, 1,019 from Netlify against 315, 882 from Firebase against 232 and 656 from Supabase against 92. Two cautions. Our churn window is short, roughly since May 2026, so these are observed movements and not a lifetime ledger. And a domain can run more than one platform, so some of these pairs are a stack changing shape rather than a contract being cancelled.

Tech Stack of Vercel-Powered Websites

72.95% of Vercel domains run Tailwind CSS and 67.77% run Next.js. Those are the two highest co-occurrence figures we have recorded on any infrastructure profile, and they say something specific: Vercel is not a neutral host that anything can sit on, it is the default deployment target for one particular stack.

The clearest evidence is Bootstrap at 4.15%. Bootstrap appears on 5.7 million domains across our corpus and is the most widely deployed CSS framework on the web, yet it barely registers here. Add Radix UI at 27.82% and shadcn/ui at 21.2% and the picture is a modern React toolchain rather than a general-purpose hosting base. For anyone selling developer tooling, that makes a Vercel detection one of the most predictive stack signals on this site.

Expert Analysis: Vercel Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

David Thomson
David ThomsonCTO, TechnologyChecker

Vercel is the second-largest platform in the TechnologyChecker.io PaaS category and the first one where the detection method is genuinely uncomplicated. That is worth saying plainly, because the two profiles either side of it are not. This page publishes 389,653 domains, and I want to explain what that number contains before anyone builds a prospecting list on it.

What actually triggers a Vercel detection

Three signals, and they are not equal. The first is a response header on the page itself: x-vercel-id, x-vercel-cache or the legacy x-now-trace. The second is DNS, where the domain's start-of-authority record points at vercel-dns.com. The third is a script loaded from a vercel.app hostname.

Only the third one can lie, because a vercel.app URL might belong to a vendor whose widget you embed rather than to you. We spent real effort on the AWS profile establishing that its equivalent clause accounts for about a third of its count, so the same question had to be asked here. The answer is that it barely matters: the busiest shared vercel.app host in our data appears on 766 domains, and the next eleven together add roughly 1,900 more. Against 389,653 that is noise.

The sample, and what the failures mean

We drew 100 active Vercel domains at random and checked each one by hand, resolving the start-of-authority record and reading the live response headers. Eighty-five carried a first-party signal. Headers did almost all of the work at 84%, with Vercel DNS at 10% and an overlap of 9%.

The fifteen that did not confirm are the interesting part. Five returned a 403 of about 4.5KB from Cloudflare, which is a bot block and tells us nothing either way. Two were unreachable. The remaining eight were serving from somewhere else entirely, including Wix, Framer and IIS, which means they had moved on since we last saw them. None of them looked like a third party's vercel.app widget sitting on an unrelated site.

A CDN in front of an origin replaces the headers we read. That makes a Cloudflare-fronted Vercel site invisible to us, so every number on this page is a floor, and the enterprise end of the list is where the undercount will be worst.

Why the company list is shorter than it could be

We tested the seventy largest enriched domains and confirmed sixty-two. The eight we dropped include some names that would have looked good on this page, and the reason we dropped them is the paragraph above: they sit behind Cloudflare. I would rather publish a list where every row was re-checked at the exact hostname than a longer one padded with entries I cannot verify today.

Vercel is a small-company platform, and the comparison is fair

89.73% of enriched Vercel domains are companies under 50 people, and 0.89% are above 1,000. The equivalent figure is 7.49% on Azure and 2.56% on AWS. That comparison holds up because all three are detected through response headers and DNS records, in the same category, in the same month, so we are not comparing a header rule against a JavaScript pixel and calling the difference a market insight.

Company age says the same thing from another angle. 47.04% of Vercel companies were founded in the 2020s and 81.85% since 2010. On AWS the 2020s figure is 23.27% and on Azure it is 11.48%, where 44.44% predate 2000. These three platforms are selling to three different generations of company.

The company behind the number

Vercel raised $300 million at a $9.3 billion valuation in September 2025, a Series F co-led by Accel and GIC, having started out as ZEIT in 2015 under Guillermo Rauch. It also owns Next.js, which was downloaded more than 500 million times in the trailing twelve months, beating the framework's entire 2016 to 2024 total. Its AI SDK went from 446,012 weekly downloads to roughly 3.2 million over a single year.

That is not trivia on a detection page, it is the explanation for the stack table below. A hosting company does not usually get to ship the framework its customers build in. Vercel does, and the consequence is measurable here as 67.77% Next.js and 72.95% Tailwind against 4.15% Bootstrap. A valuation is a claim about the future. The co-occurrence is a measurement of the present, and of the two it is the one I would build a prospecting list on.

The stack signal is the most useful thing on this page

Tailwind CSS appears on 72.95% of Vercel domains and Next.js on 67.77%. I have not seen co-occurrence that high on any other infrastructure profile at TechnologyChecker.io. The control that makes it meaningful is Bootstrap, which sits on 5.7 million domains across our corpus and reaches only 4.15% here. A platform that were merely popular would inherit the web's baseline distribution of CSS frameworks. Vercel does not, which tells you its adoption is driven by a specific toolchain rather than by general hosting demand.

Churn, and the one thing it does not prove

Vercel is net positive against every competitor we tested, which is rare enough that I checked it twice. It gained 2,100 domains from AWS while losing 634, and beat Netlify, Firebase and Supabase on the same basis. The caveat is that our churn window opened in May 2026, so this is a snapshot of recent movement rather than a full history, and a domain running both Vercel and AWS can appear in these corridors without anybody having cancelled anything.

Read 389,653 as a floor on domains that Vercel serves directly and that are not hidden behind a CDN. It is not a count of Vercel accounts, and one agency account can sit behind a great many of these domains.

What this page is a floor on, and what it is not

Two limits are worth stating together, because they pull the number in the same direction. A CDN in front of an origin hides the headers we read, and we only crawl hostnames we know about, so a Vercel deployment on an uncrawled subdomain is simply absent. Both of those cause undercounting, and neither has a correction factor I would trust enough to apply.

The opposite error, counting somebody who is not a customer, is the one we can bound. It would require a third party's vercel.app script on an unrelated site, and we measured that population directly at well under 1%. So 389,653 is a conservative figure. When this page and a vendor's own announcement disagree, the gap is far more likely to be sites we cannot see than sites we counted wrongly.

One last framing point for anyone using this commercially. A domain is not an account. Agencies deploy client work under their own Vercel team, and agencies are 6.89% of the enriched list, so the count of paying Vercel customers behind these 389,653 domains is smaller than the domain count implies. We publish domains because that is what we observe.

Sales Signals

  • Next.js plus Tailwind on a domain we do not yet see on Vercel is the highest-intent migration target in this dataset, because the stack is already built for it.
  • Supabase or Firebase alongside Vercel (1.92% and 2.3%) marks a team running a serverless backend with no traditional cloud contract, which is a different buyer from an AWS account.
  • Vercel Analytics at 19.01% separates paid-tier behaviour from hobby deployments better than domain count does.
  • An agency in the list (Advertising, Marketing and Design Services are 6.89% together) is a channel, not one account. Sell once, land many domains.
  • India at 9.45% is double its share of the AWS list, so territory planning built on AWS data will under-resource it.
  • An enterprise row is almost always a marketing or careers property. Pitch the web team, not central IT.

Everything above comes from the TechnologyChecker.io August 2026 crawl, and the hand-checks were run against live sites the same week. Where a number rests on a sample rather than the full corpus, the sample size is stated next to it.

The majority of Vercel customers were founded in the 2020s (47.04%), followed by the 2010s (34.81%), based on our analysis of 256,810 enriched companies. This suggests Vercel is most popular among relatively young companies.

What is the ideal customer profile for Vercel?

The ideal Vercel customer is: Company Size: Under 50 employees, Location: US, India, UK or Brazil, Founded: 2015 or later, Industry: Software, agencies, IT consulting, Framework: Next.js with Tailwind CSS — based on our analysis of 256,810 enriched companies at TechnologyChecker.io.

What is Vercel?

Vercel is a frontend cloud: you connect a Git repository, and Vercel builds the site and serves it from its own edge network, with a preview deployment for every branch. It is also the company that maintains Next.js. Founded in 2015 as ZEIT, it took the Vercel name in April 2020.

Who owns Vercel and how big is the company?

Vercel is a private company founded by Guillermo Rauch, who still leads it. Its September 2025 Series F raised $300 million at a $9.3 billion valuation, co-led by Accel and GIC. Those are funding figures rather than anything we measure. What we measure is deployment footprint: 389,653 domains, second in the PaaS category behind AWS.

What does it mean when a website is detected as using Vercel?

It means one of three signals matched on that domain: a Vercel response header such as x-vercel-id, a start-of-authority record pointing at vercel-dns.com, or a script served from a vercel.app deployment. The first two belong to the domain owner. In a hand-checked sample of 100 domains, 85% carried one of those first-party signals.

How many websites use Vercel?

We detect Vercel on 389,653 active domains as of August 2026, which places it second of 41 technologies in the PaaS category on a 16.64% share. Treat that as a floor rather than a total, because a CDN sitting in front of a Vercel origin replaces the response headers we rely on and hides the site from us.

Is Vercel bigger than Netlify?

Yes, by roughly two and a half to one in our data: 389,653 domains against 154,481. The comparison is unusually reliable because both platforms are detected the same way, through response headers and DNS records, so the gap reflects deployment counts rather than a difference in how well we can see each one.

What percentage of Vercel sites run Next.js?

We see Next.js on 67.77% of Vercel domains, and Tailwind CSS on an even higher 72.95%. Those are the two strongest co-occurrence figures on any infrastructure profile we publish. Vercel maintains Next.js, so the overlap is expected, but the scale of it shows how tightly platform adoption tracks that one framework.

Can I get a list of companies using Vercel?

Yes. This page shows 50 named companies, every one re-checked against a live Vercel header at the exact hostname where we detected it. The full TechnologyChecker.io dataset covers 389,653 domains, of which 256,810 are matched to a company record, and it can be filtered by size, country, industry and co-installed technology.

Do large enterprises use Vercel?

Some do, but they are a small minority. Only 0.89% of enriched Vercel domains belong to companies above 1,000 staff, against 7.49% on Azure and 2.56% on AWS. Where a large enterprise does appear, it is almost always a marketing, campaign or careers property rather than a core transactional system.

What is the most common technology stack on Vercel?

Next.js with Tailwind CSS, very often with Radix UI at 27.82% and shadcn/ui at 21.2% layered on top. Google Analytics appears on 38.83% and Vercel's own analytics product on 19.01%. The telling absence is Bootstrap at 4.15%, despite it running on 5.7 million domains across our wider corpus.

How does Vercel compare to AWS in this data?

AWS is 2.4 times larger at 936,363 domains, but the counts are not built identically. About a third of AWS detections come from a clause that can fire on a third party's file, against under 0.2% for Vercel. On confirmed first-party signals alone the real gap between the two platforms is meaningfully narrower.

Are companies moving to Vercel or away from it?

Toward it, on every corridor we measured. Vercel gained 2,100 domains from AWS against 634 lost, 1,019 from Netlify against 315, and 882 from Firebase against 232. Our churn window opened in May 2026, so these are observed movements over a few months rather than a complete migration history.

Why might a company using Vercel not appear in this list?

The most common reason is a CDN in front of the origin. Cloudflare and similar services replace the response headers we read, so a Vercel-hosted site behind one is invisible to us unless it also uses Vercel DNS. Sites detected on a subdomain we have not crawled are the other main gap.

Does a vercel.app URL on a site count as that site using Vercel?

Only weakly, and we checked how much it matters. A script loaded from someone else's vercel.app deployment would wrongly credit their account to your domain. The largest shared vercel.app host in our data reaches 766 domains, under 0.2% of the total, so this clause has almost no effect on the published figure.

How often is this Vercel data updated?

TechnologyChecker.io re-crawls its domain corpus monthly, and this profile reflects the August 2026 sweep. The hand-verified company list and the 100-domain detection sample were both run in the same week the page was published, so those confirmations describe live sites rather than cached results. Distribution figures are recomputed from the enriched set on every refresh.

Is Vercel only useful for Next.js sites?

No, though the data shows a strong lean toward it. Beyond the 67.77% of Vercel domains running Next.js, we also detect Vue.js on 2.77%, Nuxt.js on 1.84%, Svelte on 1.47% and SvelteKit on 1.09%. Those are small shares individually, but together they confirm the platform serves frameworks other than its own in real deployments.
