The most European framework we measure

Web frameworks in our corpus follow a familiar geography: the United States takes somewhere between a third and a half of matched companies, with the UK and Germany trailing. SvelteKit breaks that pattern more sharply than anything else we track.

The United States accounts for 17.46% of matched companies. The United Kingdom takes 15.64%, Germany 13.21% and the Netherlands 12.28%. Those three European countries together are more than double the American share, and the Dutch figure in particular is many times what the country's economic weight would suggest. Svelte's community has always had a strong European centre of gravity, and this is the first time we can put a number on how far that carried into commercial deployment.

The United States is 17.46% of SvelteKit's base. The UK, Germany and the Netherlands together are more than double that. No other framework we track is this European.

Applications, not marketing sites

Google Tag Manager appears on 18.85% of SvelteKit domains and Google Analytics on 17.70%. Both sit far below what our corpus normally shows, and the gap is diagnostic rather than incidental.

Compare Gatsby, where Google Tag Manager reaches 67.04% and Facebook Pixel 15.62%. That is a framework being used to build marketing sites, instrumented for paid acquisition and rebuilt on a marketing cycle. SvelteKit's numbers describe something else: product surfaces, internal tools and applications, where nobody is measuring campaign attribution because nobody is running campaigns against them. The named list supports it, with entries like a Keller Williams internal property and a France Travail service site rather than brand campaigns.

For anyone selling into this list, that changes the pitch. These are engineering-led adoptions, and the buyer is a development team rather than a marketing function.

Net positive against every tracked rival

SvelteKit gains more than it loses across the board on our observation window: 50 domains arriving from Express against 21 leaving, 40 from Nuxt.js against 22, 37 from Microsoft ASP.NET against 9, and 14 from Ruby on Rails against 15. Only Rails is roughly even.

The counts are small and the window is short, so the honest reading is direction rather than magnitude. But the direction is uniform, and it contrasts sharply with the framework we profiled alongside it. Gatsby loses 656 domains to Next.js and 472 to Astro against 38 and 3 arriving. SvelteKit is at the opposite end of the same lifecycle.

Watch the advertising line

Advertising Services accounts for 3.41% of matched companies, sitting just below the three technology categories. That entry is worth more attention than its size implies.

A framework adopted only by its enthusiasts stays a developer curiosity. It becomes commercially durable when agencies start using it for client delivery, because that decouples adoption from individual preference and attaches it to a business model. Gatsby made exactly that transition and it is visible in its data today, with construction and financial services clients sitting alongside the technology firms. SvelteKit's advertising share suggests the same crossing is underway, and it is the single number on this page most worth tracking over the next year.

SvelteKit shows 18.85% Google Tag Manager against Gatsby's 67.04%. One framework builds applications; the other built marketing sites. That difference predicts how each base behaves.

Reading eighth place

SvelteKit ranks 8th of 34 with 2.43% share, behind Microsoft ASP.NET at 46.19%. Category share here counts distinct domains where a framework is detected, and ASP.NET has been accumulating them since the early 2000s.

That makes the ranking a measure of installed base, not of what teams are choosing now. SvelteKit's first stable release arrived in late 2022, and 70.72% of its matched companies were founded since 2010. Comparing a three-year-old framework's domain count against a twenty-year-old one describes history rather than momentum, and the switching data on this page is the better guide to the latter.
