Choose Wix if…
- You sell or take bookings, which Framer's pricing page does not list and Wix covers from Core with payments, basic eCommerce and scheduling, then standard eCommerce on Business and advanced on Business Elite
- Several people edit the site: Wix lists 2 site collaborators on Light and 100 on Business Elite, while Framer caps Basic and Pro at 10 seats and charges $20 a month per additional editor
- The people running the site are not designers: Wix beats Framer on G2 ease of use (8.9 to 8.4) and meeting requirements (8.6 to 8.4), with more than 1,500 Wix responses behind each
Choose Framer if…
- You want a release process, and Framer Pro, at $30 a month on yearly billing, includes staging, branching with previews, site redirects, and roles and permissions
- The site runs in several languages, and you can add localisation to Framer Basic or Pro at $20 per locale, up to 20 locales
- You care about the vendor relationship: Framer leads Wix on G2 for product direction (8.9 to 8.2), quality of support (8.5 to 8.0) and being a good business partner (9.0 to 8.4), on 37 to 128 Framer responses each
How we collect this data
Every number names its source and the date it was read.
403 domains dropped Wix for Framer in the 90 days to October 3, 2026, according to TechnologyChecker's October 2026 crawl. That makes 553 since tracking began on March 16, 2026, 27 times what Wix's own corpus-wide loss rate predicts. We detect Wix from its renderer headers, scripts and generator tag, and Framer from its runtime and framerusercontent.com files. Only 33 domains went the other way, 24 of them in the last 90 days. That is fewer than Framer's own loss rate predicts, so we do not count it as a migration. Wix is far larger: 1,298,903 domains, 8.72% of CMS & Website Builders and #2 in its August 15, 2026 profile, against Framer's 58,661, 0.38% and #13 in its August 31 profile. Choose Wix to sell, take payments or take bookings. Choose Framer for a marketing site that needs staging and redirects, which start on Pro at $30 a month on yearly billing. Basic, at $10, is the plan Framer labels for creative personal sites. G2 reviewers also score Framer higher on product direction (8.9 to 8.2) and quality of support (8.5 to 8.0).

25,248 domains have dropped Wix since we began tracking it in March 2026. Most go to WordPress.
Framer's pricing page shows yearly-billing prices only: Basic $10 a month, Pro $30. Billing follows the cycle you pick at checkout, sales tax is added there, and Framer lists no separate introductory or renewal rate. Wix lists a free plan and four paid tiers (Light, Core, Business, Business Elite), but we show no paid Wix prices. Wix's plans page served a tax-inclusive regional variant on October 3, 2026, as on every earlier fetch, so the only Wix figure we publish is the free plan at $0. (checked Oct 3, 2026)

What else G2 puts on this comparison
| Product | Rating | Reviews | Largest segment |
|---|---|---|---|
| Webflow | 4.4 / 5 | 995 | Small-Business |
| WordPress.com | 4.4 / 5 | 2,716 | Small-Business |

2 of 3 shortlisted alternatives are where domains actually go. G2 puts Webflow, WordPress.com and Elementor beside this pair. Of those, Webflow and WordPress.com also appear among the technologies Wix leavers move to. The destinations we measure — WordPress, Squarespace, Webflow, GoDaddy Website Builder and Joomla — include Squarespace, GoDaddy Website Builder and Joomla, absent from G2's shortlist.
G2 scores features by category only when both products are rated on a shared feature set, and it publishes none for Wix and Framer. The feature table above is ours, read off each vendor's own pages.

The G2 scores and the switching data lean the same way. In the 90 days to October 3, 2026, 403 Wix domains moved to Framer. Since tracking began on March 16, 2026, 553 have moved, which is 27 times what Wix's own corpus-wide loss rate predicts. The 33 domains that went from Framer to Wix are fewer than Framer's own loss rate predicts. Framer's widest G2 lead is product direction, 8.9 to 8.2. But Framer's scores rest on 37 to 128 responses each, against 566 to 1,590 for Wix, so treat that lead as directional.

The move from Wix to Framer runs one way. 553 Wix domains have switched to Framer since tracking began on March 16, 2026, 403 of them in the last 90 days. That is 27 times what Wix's own corpus-wide loss rate predicts. Only 33 went from Framer to Wix, fewer than Framer's own loss rate predicts. Framer is not Wix's only exit, though. In the same 90 days, 471 Wix domains moved to Webflow on the same rule, and the Wix profile on this page lists WordPress as Wix's largest destination. The companies on Framer are younger and more technical than Wix's. In the Framer profile of August 31, 2026, 53.44% of Framer companies with a known founding year were founded in the 2020s. Software Development is Framer's largest industry, at 8.97% of those with a known industry. On Wix the 2020s share is 30.71% (Wix profile, August 15, 2026). These figures describe each platform's base, not the switchers.
None of that makes Framer right for every Wix site. Framer's pricing page lists no store, payments or bookings. Wix includes all three from Core, so a Wix site that sells or takes bookings has no like-for-like Framer plan to move to. Framer Basic, at $10 a month on yearly billing, is the plan Framer labels for creative personal sites. It caps a site at 30 pages and 1,000 CMS items and has no redirects. Pro, at $30, adds redirects, staging, branching with previews, and roles and permissions. If you are moving a Wix site with existing URLs to preserve, budget for Pro.
For anyone citing this page: the counts are domains, not companies. The latest crawl still records 162 domains on both Wix and Framer, yet none of a live sample of 40 showed both. 32 showed Framer only, 4 Wix only, 3 neither and 1 a challenge page, so read the 162 as crawl lag, not sites running two builders. Wix's paid prices are missing because its plans page served a regional, tax-inclusive variant. Check them on wix.com before you compare.

Where this data comes from
October 2026 crawlOur detection dataFirst-party
The switching corridor, adoption curves, market shares and customer lists come from our own monthly crawl of 29.9M live business domains, detected across the full signal stack: HTTP headers, rendered DOM, JS globals, DNS, TLS and certificate transparency.
A switch is an observed change, not a survey answer: a domain dropped Wix on every host we track and now runs Framer. Counts are domains, not accounts. Company attributes (industry, employee band, country) come from the enriched samples named in each caption (1,096,571 companies for Wix, 45,833 for Framer).
Full detection methodology →The vendors' own pages
Pricing tables and the feature matrix are read from wix.com and framer.com, entered by hand and checked cell by cell by an editor. Every table names its source URL and the date it was verified.
A verification older than 90 days withdraws the page from search until an editor re-checks it, so a stale price cannot outrank a current one.

How many sites switched from Wix to Framer?
403 domains dropped Wix and now run Framer in the 90 days to October 3, 2026. Since tracking began on March 16, 2026, the total is 553, 27 times what Wix's own corpus-wide loss rate predicts. Only 33 went the other way, 24 of them in 90 days. That is below what Framer's own loss rate predicts, so we do not count it as a migration. Counts are domains, not companies or contracts.
Which is more widely used, Wix or Framer?
Wix, by about 22 times. Wix has 1,298,903 detected domains, 8.72% of the CMS & Website Builders category and #2, in its profile of August 15, 2026. Framer has 58,661 domains, 0.38% and #13, in its profile of August 31, 2026.
Is Framer cheaper than Wix?
Framer publishes US prices: a free plan, then Basic at $10 a month and Pro at $30 on yearly billing, plus $20 a month per additional editor. Wix has a free plan and four paid tiers, Light, Core, Business and Business Elite, but its plans page serves region-specific, tax-inclusive prices. Check the USD figures on wix.com on the day you buy. We read both pages on October 3, 2026.
Can Framer run an online store like Wix?
Not from its pricing page. Framer's plans list pages, CMS collections, bandwidth, staging and add-ons such as A/B testing and localisation, but no shopping cart or payments. Wix lists payments, basic eCommerce and scheduling from Core, standard eCommerce on Business and advanced eCommerce on Business Elite.
What do you detect for each platform?
Wix from its renderer response headers, scripts served from static.parastorage.com and its generator tag. Framer sites from the Framer runtime and files served from framerusercontent.com or framer.com. The Wix count does not separate Wix Studio from the classic Wix editor, and the Framer count is the Framer site builder, not the Framer Motion animation library.
Is Framer better than Wix Studio?
Our Wix count does not separate Wix Studio from the classic Wix editor, and the G2 scores here are for G2's "Wix" listing, not Wix Studio. On those scores Framer leads on four of seven, most widely on product direction (8.9 to 8.2), and Wix leads on ease of use (8.9 to 8.4). In our crawl, 403 Wix domains moved to Framer in the 90 days to October 3, 2026.
What are the downsides of Framer?
Framer's pricing page lists no store or payments. Basic caps a site at 30 pages and 1,000 CMS items. Staging, redirects and roles and permissions start on Pro, and each additional editor costs $20 a month. On G2's Framer vs Wix comparison page, read October 3, 2026, Framer's complaint topics are Missing Features (10 mentions) and Expensive (8). Its lowest G2 scores are ease of use and meeting requirements, both 8.4.
Is there anything better than Wix?
It depends on the site, and Framer is one destination among several. In the 90 days to October 3, 2026, 403 Wix domains moved to Framer and 471 to Webflow on the same rule. The Wix profile on this page lists WordPress as Wix's largest destination. For a store or booking business, Wix includes payments, eCommerce and scheduling from Core, and Framer's pricing page lists none of them.
Why is Wix dropping?
We measure websites, not Wix's business results. Wix still runs on 1,298,903 domains, #2 in CMS & Website Builders (Wix profile, August 15, 2026). Sites do leave. In the 90 days to October 3, 2026, 403 Wix domains moved to Framer and 471 to Webflow. Both flows are well above what Wix's own corpus-wide loss rate predicts, and that rate runs from March 16, 2026, when tracking began. The Wix profile on this page lists WordPress as Wix's largest destination.
What are the top 3 website builders?
WordPress, Wix and Squarespace, ranked #1, #2 and #3 by detected domains in our CMS & Website Builders category, per their profiles of August 15, 2026. Framer is #13, with 58,661 domains and 0.38% of the category (Framer profile, August 31, 2026).
