Companies Using WebAssembly

Our October 2026 crawl finds WebAssembly on 813 domains, after a cleaning that removed 392 of the 1,205 domains that passed our title filter. When we fetched them on 16 October, 339 were gambling lobbies, 299 of them from one white-label casino platform, and 53 were dead; the method is explained at the foot of this page. What's left is mostly business software: 347 Blazor WebAssembly apps (C# and .NET in the browser), 126 Go builds, 45 FlipHTML5 flipbooks and a long tail of Emscripten tools and games. This is the list of companies that use WebAssembly, with size, country, industry and stack, including Erply, Avidyne's dealer portal and St. Tammany Parish Hospital's wayfinding app.

WebAssembly is a binary format that browsers run next to JavaScript, developed as an open standard in W3C groups; its first core specification became a W3C Recommendation on 5 December 2019, and version 3.0, completed in September 2025, is on the W3C track as a Candidate Recommendation Draft. Our rule sees two toolchains: pages that expose the wasmBinary or wasmBinaryFile variables an Emscripten-style loader creates, and pages that load Go's wasm_exec.js. Builds that load a .wasm file without either marker aren't counted, so this is a floor. WebAssembly ranks 7th of 13 in Programming Languages with 0.01%.

WebAssembly Usage Statistics

Our chart has one point: 813 domains in October 2026. It starts there because October is the first month counted after removing the casino lobbies and dead domains, so earlier monthly totals aren't comparable. They mostly tracked our own reach anyway: the set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and newly found ones added, and our detection signals widen over time. Since we began tracking it on 16 March 2026, 359 domains have dropped it on at least one hostname; only 9 of those still ran it on another hostname in mid-October.

List of Companies Using WebAssembly

Who uses WebAssembly? This list of companies that use WebAssembly names 50 of the 306 matched companies, and nearly all of them run a business tool rather than a public website: a dealer portal, a supplier catalogue, a tenant login. Of the 36 we verified in a browser, 26 were Blazor WebAssembly apps. Erply and Cyagen ship Go instead, loading a main.wasm through wasm_exec.js, and Eurovia Travaux Ferroviaires publishes its CSR report as a FlipHTML5 flipbook.

WebAssembly Customers by Company Size & Age

What size companies use WebAssembly? Mostly small ones: 49.48% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 24.74% have 11 to 50. Only 12 have more than 1,000 staff (11 at 1,001 to 5,000 and 1 at 5,001 to 10,000). The larger names each run one business tool, such as Jackson Lewis's Checkit portal or doValue's broker portal.

Company Size Distribution

Company Age (Founded Decade)

The largest group of matched companies was founded in the 2010s (34.85%), then the 2020s (25.76%) and the 2000s (13.64%). 10.61% were founded before 1960, a high share for a browser technology, and it comes from manufacturers, distributors and associations that commissioned a .NET portal, such as Weldco-Beales, Lewis Marine Supply and Herring Gas.

What Industries Use WebAssembly the Most?

Software Development leads at 10.92%, then IT Services and IT Consulting (7.39%) and Technology, Information and Internet (6.34%), so 24.65% of matched companies sell software or IT. Financial Services follows at 3.87% and Business Consulting at 3.17%. Computer Games is 2.46%, the same as Wholesale, based on our enriched company data: B2B order portals show up as often as games.

Manufacturers using WebAssembly include Weldco-Beales on its account portal, Avidyne on its dealer portal and ROXALL on its RoxVac app, all Blazor builds. Distributors on WebAssembly include Lewis Marine Supply and Katre, whose B2B ordering sites run on .NET in the browser. Healthcare organisations using WebAssembly include St. Tammany Parish Hospital, whose wayfinding app loads a compiled C++ module.

WebAssembly Alternatives & Competitors

WebAssembly doesn't compete with the server languages above it. PHP, Java, CFML and Python are read from server headers and cookies, while WebAssembly is what C#, Go, C++ and others compile to for the browser. The overlap is a stack, not a switch: 71 domains run PHP and WebAssembly today, out of 85 that ever had both. Across all 813 WebAssembly domains, the most common route in is Blazor, which runs on 45.63% of them.

WebAssembly Expert Reviews with Pros and Cons

Across three independent expert reviews published since 2024 (SitePoint, InfoWorld and LogRocket), read in October 2026, WebAssembly wins on near-native speed and code reuse, while the friction sits around it: a thin library ecosystem and performance that varies by browser. LogRocket notes that before Wasm 3.0, garbage-collected languages such as C# had to ship their own collector, a weight carried by the 347 Blazor WebAssembly apps among our 813 domains.

Summarised from independent expert reviews by SitePoint, InfoWorld and LogRocket

Pros
  • Reviewers agree on near-native speed for heavy computation, such as games, image processing and simulations running in the browser.(3 reviews)
  • It lets teams reuse code written in C, C++, Rust, Go or C# in the browser instead of rewriting it in JavaScript.(3 reviews)
  • Code runs inside a browser sandbox, which reviewers count as a security benefit for executing untrusted or low-level code.(2 reviews)
Cons
  • The library and tooling ecosystem is still small next to JavaScript's, so teams often build components themselves.(2 reviews)
  • Reviewers warn about uneven behaviour across browsers, from implementation differences to performance that varies by engine.(2 reviews)

How We Counted WebAssembly Users

A domain counts here if a page exposes the wasmBinary or wasmBinaryFile variables that an Emscripten-style loader creates, or loads Go's wasm_exec.js runtime. The rule also reads a Content-Type: application/wasm header, but only on the page itself, and an HTML page doesn't send it. Builds that load a .wasm file without either marker aren't seen, so the count is a floor on sites using WebAssembly.

Before computing anything we fetched all 1,205 domains that passed our for-sale and gambling title filter (19 of the 1,224 raw domains had already gone) and opened the ones without a visible marker in a browser. We removed 392. 299 were casino lobbies built on one white-label platform: Nuxt apps whose scripts load from down-prefixed hosts on sp-slots1.com and zuvio.mx, under titles such as "Melhores Jogos Online, Jogos e Apostas", "Best Online Games, Games & Betting" and "Mejores juegos en línea, Juegos y apuestas", many with an empty title our filter couldn't read. 40 more were other gambling sites, including Vicclub, Boyaa poker and Mark Six lottery pages. 26 no longer resolved in DNS and 27 were error or placeholder pages.

Every chart and table on this page uses the remaining 813: 347 Blazor WebAssembly apps, 143 other Emscripten or WebAssembly apps, 71 Go apps, 55 Remnawave proxy panels, 45 FlipHTML5 flipbooks, 7 Kotlin builds and 6 Microsoft Remote Desktop web clients, plus 139 that didn't answer, blocked our fetcher or showed no WebAssembly that day. We kept those 139 because a failed fetch doesn't prove a site has dropped it. The Remnawave panels are separate operators running the same open-source software, so they stay in. Our Programming Languages category table uses this cleaned count too, so it lists WebAssembly at 813, 7th of 13.

Expert Analysis: WebAssembly Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

Mehmet Suleyman
Mehmet SuleymanCEO & Co-founder, TechnologyChecker

WebAssembly is the hardest row in our Programming Languages table to read, because developers rarely write it by hand. C#, Go, C++ and a growing list of other languages compile to it so they can run in a browser. As of our October 2026 crawl we count 813 domains, and 306 of them match a company record, a 37.64% match rate. Getting there took real cleaning: the raw detection list held 392 more domains, most of them casino lobbies.

What the signal catches

A domain counts when a page exposes the wasmBinary or wasmBinaryFile variables that an Emscripten-style loader creates, or loads Go's wasm_exec.js runtime. (The rule also has a response-header clause, but it reads only the page's own headers, and an HTML page doesn't send application/wasm.) So the count sees two toolchain families and misses builds that load a .wasm file without either marker; Rust builds made with wasm-bindgen rarely show up. Treat it as a floor. Our technology detection methods post explains how these rules are matched.

I fetched all 1,205 domains that passed our title filter on 16 October and opened the ones without a visible marker in a browser. 339 were gambling lobbies, 299 of them loading their scripts from one white-label casino platform's hosts, sp-slots1.com and zuvio.mx, and 53 were dead. Those 392 are out of every number on this page. Here is what the remaining 813 are:

  • 347 Blazor WebAssembly apps (42.68%), 334 of them loading blazor.webassembly.js
  • 143 other Emscripten or WebAssembly apps: games, PDF and image tools, barcode scanners, medical image viewers
  • 71 Go apps plus 55 Remnawave proxy panels, which are Go too
  • 45 FlipHTML5 flipbooks, 7 Kotlin builds and 6 Microsoft Remote Desktop web clients
  • 139 that didn't answer (38), blocked our fetcher (17) or showed no WebAssembly that day (84)

Sales signal: the list is now mostly business software. Split it by toolchain before you prospect, because each group has a different buyer.

Growth trajectory

The chart has a single point, 813 domains in October 2026, because October is the first month counted after the cleaning. The uncleaned months before it wouldn't have told you much anyway. The set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and newly found ones added, and our detection signals widen over time, so earlier movement was mostly our reach. Since 16 March 2026, 359 domains have dropped WebAssembly on at least one hostname, and only 9 of those still ran it on another hostname in mid-October.

"Strip out the casino lobbies and WebAssembly on the open web is mostly a .NET story: companies putting a C# business portal in the browser with Blazor." - Mehmet Suleyman, CEO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io

Sales signal: size the market at 813 domains. It's small, and it's concentrated in one toolchain.

Who the customers are

49.48% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees, 24.74% have 11 to 50 and 13.75% have 51 to 200. Only 12 have more than 1,000 staff. The age data is the surprise: 10.61% were founded before 1960. Those are old manufacturers and distributors with a modern .NET portal: Weldco-Beales (founded 1945) on its account portal, Herring Gas (1946) on its customer account site, Lewis Marine Supply (1956) on its ordering site. The bigger names follow the same pattern: Jackson Lewis's Checkit portal, doValue's broker portal, Avidyne's dealer portal. Blazor's own profile helps explain why these show up: of 114 large Blazor sites it checked, 20 ran standalone WebAssembly, the build our rule sees most.

Outside the business portals, the sites we verified in a browser are the kind that turn up on lists of WebAssembly demos: an in-browser database shell, a 3D globe, a design app and a webmail client all load .wasm files.

Sales signal: the buyer is the IT team or the .NET agency that built the portal. They need component libraries, hosting, authentication and testing for a C# front end.

Industry and geography

Software Development (10.92%), IT Services and IT Consulting (7.39%) and Technology, Information and Internet (6.34%) make up 24.65% of matched companies. Financial Services is 3.87%, and Wholesale ties Computer Games at 2.46%. The United States leads with 62 of the 306 matched companies, then the United Kingdom (13) and France (10). Denmark, with 9, punches above its size: housing associations run a tenant portal called MinSide on a minside. subdomain, built with Blazor.

Sales signal: Danish and wider Nordic public-sector and housing portals are a small but tidy pocket. The same portal repeats across associations.

Switching: what the data can and can't say

There's no switching table for WebAssembly, and there shouldn't be. It doesn't replace PHP or Java; it sits beside them. 71 domains run PHP and WebAssembly today, out of 85 that ever had both, which is a PHP site with a compiled tool on one page. The Remnawave panels make the same point from another angle: 55 separate operators, 19 of them on .ru domains, running the same open-source proxy panel, published on GitHub under AGPL-3.0, whose web UI loads Go's runtime.

"A WebAssembly hit tells you the toolchain, not the vendor. Blazor, Go and Emscripten builds each point to a different buyer." - Mehmet Suleyman, CEO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io

Sales signal: split this list by toolchain before outreach. A Blazor portal, a Go app and an Emscripten game have nothing in common except the file format.

The stack around it

Percentages are of the 813 clean live domains. Blazor runs on 45.63%, with Microsoft ASP.NET on 22.88% and IIS on 22.51%: one Microsoft stack. Cloudflare is in front of 28.17%, and WordPress shows on 13.28%. Nuxt.js is down to 1.72%; before the cleaning it was the casino fleet's framework, since all 13 lobbies we checked were Nuxt apps. WebAssembly 3.0 was completed in September 2025 with garbage collection, which the standard's own announcement says languages such as Java, Kotlin and Dart now use; our crawl shows only 7 Kotlin builds so far.

Sales signal: for a .NET component or hosting vendor, the IIS and ASP.NET overlap is the qualifier. For a game or graphics tool vendor, the Emscripten group is the list.

Key takeaways

  • 813 domains after removing 339 gambling lobbies and 53 dead domains from the 1,205 we fetched.
  • Blazor WebAssembly is the largest group, 347 domains, mostly business portals.
  • Go accounts for 126, including 55 self-hosted Remnawave panels.
  • The count is a floor: builds without an Emscripten-style variable or Go's runtime aren't seen.
  • Older manufacturers and distributors are a real segment, with 10.61% founded before 1960.

Sales applications

Outreach template: "Your [portal name] at [detection URL] runs on Blazor WebAssembly. Teams with a C# front end in the browser often run into [load time / testing / component gaps]. Can I show you how others handle it?"

Targeting: filter WebAssembly domains that also run Blazor or ASP.NET and keep those with a company match.

Competitive angle: JavaScript framework consultancies can pitch rebuilds to the older standalone Blazor apps; .NET vendors can pitch upgrades to the newer Blazor Web App model.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who uses WebAssembly?

Businesses running internal tools in the browser, mostly. Our October 2026 crawl finds WebAssembly on 813 domains, and the biggest group is Blazor WebAssembly portals: 347 of them. Named users include Erply, Avidyne, doValue, Jackson Lewis and St. Tammany Parish Hospital. We removed 339 gambling lobbies and 53 dead domains before counting, so the figure is sites, not casino fronts.

How many customers does WebAssembly have?

WebAssembly is an open standard, so it has users, not customers. Our crawl counts 813 domains in October 2026 and matches 306 to a company. That's after we fetched the 1,205 domains that passed our title filter and removed 339 gambling lobbies and 53 dead domains. Since March 2026, 359 domains have dropped it on a hostname.

What is WebAssembly's market share?

0.01% of Programming Languages, 7th of the 13 rows we track, on 813 domains. The table mixes signals: PHP (5,317,281 domains), Java and Python are read from server headers and cookies, while WebAssembly is a browser compile target. Our rule also sees only some WebAssembly toolchains, so even this cleaned count is a floor.

What are the best alternatives to WebAssembly?

For most web work the alternative is plain JavaScript or TypeScript, which every browser runs without a compile step. Teams pick WebAssembly to reuse C#, Go, C++ or Rust code in the browser. On our crawl the main route in is Blazor, on 45.63% of WebAssembly domains; Blazor's own profile counts 13,563 domains, most of which don't trip this rule.

Which countries use WebAssembly the most?

The United States, with 62 of the 306 matched companies, then the United Kingdom (13), France (10), and Denmark and Germany with 9 each. Denmark's place comes partly from housing associations that run a Blazor-built tenant portal called MinSide. The counts cover matched companies only, after our gambling and dead-domain cut.

What size companies use WebAssembly?

Mostly small ones: 49.48% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 24.74% have 11 to 50, with 13.75% at 51 to 200. Only 12 have more than 1,000 staff. The larger names use it for one business tool, such as Jackson Lewis's Checkit portal or doValue's broker portal.

How old are companies that use WebAssembly?

Older than you might expect. The 2010s lead at 34.85%, then the 2020s (25.76%) and the 2000s (13.64%), and 10.61% of matched companies were founded before 1960. Long-established manufacturers and distributors such as Weldco-Beales and Lewis Marine Supply commission .NET portals, and Blazor ships those to the browser as WebAssembly.

What is the ideal customer profile for WebAssembly?

The ideal WebAssembly customer is: Company Size: 1-10 employees, then 11-50, Location: United States, then UK and France, Founded: 2010s, then 2020s, Industry: Software, IT services and B2B distribution, Typical build: A Blazor WebAssembly portal on IIS — based on our analysis of 306 enriched companies at TechnologyChecker.io.

Which websites use Wasm?

Business portals are the bulk of our count, such as Avidyne's dealer portal and doValue's broker portal, both Blazor, and Erply's Go-built sign-in app. Some browser-based map viewers, design tools, webmail clients and in-browser databases load .wasm files too.

What are some common uses for WebAssembly?

On the 813 domains we count: line-of-business portals in C# with Blazor (347), Go apps (126, 55 of them Remnawave proxy panels), digital flipbooks from FlipHTML5 (45), and Emscripten builds of games, PDF tools, barcode scanners and medical image viewers (143). WebAssembly's own site describes it as a portable compilation target for programming languages.

Is Wasm getting popular?

Slowly, and on a small base. After removing 339 casino lobbies and 53 dead domains, our crawl counts 813 sites running a detectable WebAssembly build in October 2026, and our rule sees only some toolchains. Wasm 3.0 was completed in September 2025, adding garbage collection that helps languages like Java and Kotlin.

Which languages compile to WebAssembly on the sites we track?

C# leads by a wide margin, through Blazor: 347 of the 813 domains we count. Go comes next with 126, using the wasm_exec.js runtime. C and C++ through Emscripten account for most of the remaining tools and games, and we saw 7 Kotlin builds. Rust builds made with wasm-bindgen rarely trip our rule.

Is Blazor still relevant in 2026?

On our data, yes. Blazor runs on 45.63% of WebAssembly domains and is the largest group of WebAssembly apps in our crawl, mostly business portals at manufacturers, distributors and associations. Blazor's own profile counts 13,563 domains in September 2026; of 114 large Blazor sites it checked, 35 ran Blazor Server, which sends no WebAssembly.

What is Remnawave and why does it use WebAssembly?

Remnawave is an open-source proxy management panel built on Xray-core and published on GitHub under AGPL-3.0. Its web panel loads Go's wasm_exec.js, so every self-hosted install trips our rule: we found 55 Remnawave login pages, 19 of them on .ru domains. Each is a separate operator, not one company's fleet.
