Companies Using Flagsmith
Flagsmith is an open-source feature flag service: code that decides which users see a feature, run from Flagsmith's cloud or from a company's own servers. Our October 2026 crawl finds its JavaScript SDK on 673 domains, 2nd of the 4 tools in Feature Flags. Below is the list of companies that use Flagsmith, including Jersey Mike's, Cytiva, OakNorth Bank, Techstars and CoreWeave.
That count is after a correction. We first found the SDK on 800 domains, but on 74 of them it arrives inside Super Payments' checkout script, and on 45 more inside apps built on Noloco or archives hosted on Quartex. Those flags belong to the platform, not the site, so we removed them along with 8 gambling, dead or parked pages. One customer still owns a fleet: UnitedHealthcare runs Flagsmith on 39 domains of health plan and Medicare sites.
Where we watched the SDK call home, 47 of 69 pages used Flagsmith's cloud API and 22 used an address the company hosts itself.

Flagsmith Usage Statistics
Flagsmith reads 673 domains in October 2026, and the chart starts there because the cleaned count can only be measured on the current crawl. Earlier monthly totals included the Super Payments shops and Noloco apps we removed. Since we began tracking Flagsmith on 16 March 2026, 147 domains have dropped it; 21 of those still run it on another hostname.

Which Countries Use Flagsmith the Most?
Which countries use Flagsmith the most? The United States, with 138 matched companies, then the United Kingdom (41), Canada (28), Australia (23) and France (18). Continental Europe is strong for a US-centred category: France, the Netherlands (15), Germany (14) and Switzerland (8) add 55 between them, with OakNorth Bank, MeDirect and the Swiss National Science Foundation among the users.
Share of the 406 Flagsmith domains we matched to a company record — 60.3% of the 673 we detect. Top 15 countries shown, so these do not sum to 100%. Domains with no matching company record are not represented here and skew small and independent.
Flagsmith Market Share Among Feature Flags
What is Flagsmith's market share? 1.46% of our Feature Flags category, 2nd of the 4 tools we track, on 673 domains in October 2026, based on our live crawl at TechnologyChecker.io. Its only like-for-like rival in the table is LaunchDarkly, at 44,398 domains, about 66 times larger. Beamer (604) and LaunchNotes (37) rank beside it but announce releases rather than control them, so Flagsmith's 2nd place says little.
Top Competitors by Market Share
Flagsmith Customers by Company Size & Age
What size companies use Flagsmith? 36.09% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees, 31.58% have 11 to 50 and 21.05% have 51 to 200. At the large end, 17 companies have more than 1,000 staff, among them Cytiva, Sunrun and Cloudstaff.
Company Size Distribution
Company Age (Founded Decade)
The biggest group of matched companies was founded in the 2010s (47.56%), and 31.92% in the 2020s, a young base for an infrastructure tool. The 2000s account for 8.79%. The 12 founded before 1960 include Jersey Mike's (1956), the Swiss National Science Foundation (1952) and Feyenoord (1908).
What Industries Use Flagsmith the Most?
Software Development leads at 17.78%, then Financial Services (13.66%) and Technology, Information and Internet (8.76%), based on our enriched company data. Financial services stands out for a developer tool, and Insurance adds 2.84%. A plausible reason is control: banks want to switch a feature off fast, and Flagsmith can run on servers they own.
Banks and fintechs using Flagsmith include OakNorth Bank, Xapo Bank, MeDirect, Xepelin and Endowus, most of them on a customer app or onboarding page. Healthcare companies on Flagsmith include CareSource, on its member portal, and the Italian therapy service Serenis. Sports organisations using Flagsmith include Feyenoord and Venues NSW, which runs Accor Stadium's site on the same Flagsmith environment.
Flagsmith Alternatives & Competitors
LaunchDarkly is the only true feature-flag rival in this table, at 44,398 domains. The two rarely meet: 10 domains have ever run both since we started tracking, and only 1 runs both today, far too few to call switching. Beamer (604) and LaunchNotes (37) share the category but announce releases. GrowthBook and PostHog, which both publish Flagsmith-alternatives pages, are profiled in other categories.

These percentages are of the 673 Flagsmith domains in our October 2026 crawl. Next.js runs on 40.27%, Express on 7.43% and Nuxt.js on 5.79%, so this is mostly a JavaScript-app crowd. Google Analytics is on 66.27%, and Adobe Experience Manager (6.54%) and Adobe Analytics (5.65%) mark the enterprise end. Cloudflare (50.22%) and Amazon CloudFront (32.99%) serve most of them.

How We Counted Flagsmith Customers
A domain counts here if a page on it creates Flagsmith's JavaScript object or loads a script from cdn.flagsmith.com. The object test matters because many companies bundle the SDK into their own app code and point it at their own server, so there's no Flagsmith address in the page at all.
Our crawl found Flagsmith live on 800 domains. We removed 5 parked, gambling or error pages by title, then 122 more:
- 74 Super Payments shops. Super is a UK payment provider. Its checkout script loads a dependency file that contains the Flagsmith SDK, so the flags on these shops are Super's, not the shop's. 54 of the 57 we could match to a company are British.
- 32 apps built on Noloco. In a browser check, 4 of 6 Noloco apps created Flagsmith's object and called edge.api.flagsmith.com, so the account is Noloco's.
- 13 digital archives hosted on Quartex. The one archive that loaded showed no Flagsmith and two timed out, so none of the 13 can be shown to be the site owner's own install.
- 3 more: two casino and sportsbook sites and one site returning a server error.
Every chart and table on this page uses the remaining 673. The 1.46% share is 673 domains against the same Feature Flags total we publish, so the shares in the competitor table don't add up to 100%. Our Feature Flags category table uses this cleaned count too, so it lists Flagsmith at 673 domains, 2nd of 4. Fleets owned by one customer stay in: UnitedHealthcare's 39 plan sites, 15 Under Armour store domains, Onninen's 7 country sites and one machinery dealer's 6.
Expert Analysis: Flagsmith Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

Flagsmith sells feature flags with an open-source core you can run on your own servers. Our October 2026 crawl finds its SDK on 673 domains, 2nd in our Feature Flags category. Before writing about who uses it, I loaded pages in a browser to see where the SDK calls home, read the environment keys it sends, and traced which script puts it on each page. Most of the list held up. Two platforms didn't, and we took them out.
Whose flags are they?
On 74 of the 800 raw domains, Flagsmith arrived inside Super Payments' checkout script. Super is a UK payment provider, and the dependency file its script loads contains the Flagsmith SDK, so the flags belong to Super. 54 of the 57 shops we could match to a company were British. Another 32 domains were apps built on Noloco, whose own Flagsmith account runs inside them, and 13 were archives hosted on Quartex. We removed them, 122 domains in all with three gambling or dead sites. What's left looks owner-held. Across the pages where we captured an environment key, we saw 47 different keys, and the only keys shared between domains stayed inside one company: UnitedHealthcare's plan sites, Cytiva's brands, Mekari and its Talenta product, LawnStarter and its sister brand.
Sales signal: for a payments company, the 74 removed shops are a ready list of Super Payments merchants. For anyone selling to Flagsmith users, this page's 673 is the list to use.
Cloud or self-hosted
Of 69 pages where we watched the SDK make its first call, 47 called Flagsmith's cloud API and 22 called an address the company runs itself. Mekari uses api-flagsmith.mekari.com, Freedom Mobile uses features.freedommobile.ca. UnitedHealthcare routes its calls through its own Medicare domain. That's about a third self-hosted or proxied, which matches how Flagsmith sells itself: its open-source page says the core is released under the BSD-3-Clause licence and will stay open.
"A third of the Flagsmith installs we watched call an address the company runs, not Flagsmith's own API. If you only count Flagsmith's API traffic, you miss them." - Elif Arslan, CMO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: a company running its own flag server has a platform team and a data-residency reason for it. Pitch infrastructure, compliance and observability tools there, not convenience.
A steady base
The chart starts at October 2026, because the cleaned count can only be measured on the current crawl. Since 16 March 2026, 147 domains have dropped Flagsmith, and 21 of them still run it on another hostname. Four customers own fleets: UnitedHealthcare's 39 plan sites, 15 Under Armour store domains, Onninen's 7 country sites and one machinery dealer's 6 are 67 domains but only four companies.
Sales signal: 673 domains, with those fleets counted once each, is the pool to size a campaign on.
Who the customers are
36.09% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees, and 31.92% of those with a founding year started in the 2020s, a young base. Yet the named accounts are large. Jersey Mike's runs it on its main site, Cytiva across several of its brands, Sunrun on its customer portal and CoreWeave in its cloud console. UnitedHealthcare is the biggest single footprint, with 39 domains of Medicare, Medicaid and dual-eligible plan sites.
Sales signal: one UnitedHealthcare domain isn't 39 prospects. Count accounts by company before you count by domain, or your enterprise numbers will be inflated.
Finance and Europe
Software Development leads the industry chart at 17.78%, and Financial Services is second at 13.66%: OakNorth Bank, Xapo Bank, MeDirect, Xepelin and Endowus all run it on customer apps. The United States has 138 matched companies and the United Kingdom 41. France, the Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland add 55 between them.
Sales signal: regulated fintechs that self-host feature flags are a strong fit for compliance, audit and release-governance tools.
LaunchDarkly is a different market
Our switching table for Flagsmith is empty. LaunchDarkly, the only like-for-like rival in the category, is on 44,398 domains, about 66 times more. Since March, 10 domains have run both at some point and 1 does today. The direction is 7 domains from Flagsmith to LaunchDarkly against 2 the other way, but at that size it's noise. The rest of the category, Beamer (604) and LaunchNotes, announces releases rather than controlling them.
"Flagsmith and LaunchDarkly hardly ever share a site. Teams pick one model, open-source and self-hosted or fully managed, and stay with it." - Elif Arslan, CMO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: LaunchDarkly's sellers should look at Flagsmith's cloud users, not its self-hosters. A self-hosted team chose not to pay for managed flags.
The stack around it
Next.js runs on 40.27% of the 673 domains, Express on 7.43% and Nuxt.js on 5.79%. Google Analytics is on 66.27%. Adobe Experience Manager (6.54%) and Adobe Analytics (5.65%) mark the enterprise sites, and Webflow (10.7%) the marketing ones.
Sales signal: pair Flagsmith with Next.js in your filters to find product engineering teams with modern release practices.
What it costs
Flagsmith's pricing page (16 October 2026) lists a Free plan with 50,000 requests a month, Start-Up at $45 a month ($40 billed yearly) for a million requests, and Scale-Up at $300 ($250 yearly) for five million. Enterprise adds private cloud and supported self-hosting. Extra requests start at $50 per million.
Sales signal: request-based pricing means traffic growth turns into a bill. Fast-growing consumer apps on the cloud plans are the accounts most likely to look at self-hosting or a rival.
Key takeaways
1. 673 domains in October 2026, after removing 122 that carry Super Payments', Noloco's or Quartex's code.
2. About a third of the installs we watched call a self-hosted or proxied server.
3. A young, small-company base with real enterprise users: Cytiva, Sunrun and Jersey Mike's.
4. Financial services is the second industry at 13.66%.
5. Almost no overlap with LaunchDarkly, which is 66 times larger.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who uses Flagsmith?
Mostly small software and fintech companies, plus a set of large enterprises. Our October 2026 crawl finds the Flagsmith SDK on 673 domains, including Jersey Mike's, Cytiva, Sunrun, OakNorth Bank, Techstars and CoreWeave. UnitedHealthcare alone runs it on 39 domains. Software Development is the top industry at 17.78%, with Financial Services second at 13.66%.
How many customers does Flagsmith have?
We count 673 domains in October 2026, and 406 of them match a company in our records. That's after removing 122 domains where Flagsmith arrives inside another company's code, mostly Super Payments' checkout and Noloco's app builder. It's still a floor: the SDK often runs only after sign-in, and server-side use leaves nothing for a crawler to see.
What is Flagsmith's market share?
1.46% of our Feature Flags category, 2nd of the 4 tools we track, on 673 domains. Only LaunchDarkly, at 44,398 domains, does the same job, and it's about 66 times larger. Beamer and LaunchNotes rank in the same category but are release-announcement tools, so Flagsmith's 2nd place flatters it among genuine feature-flag tools.
What are the best alternatives to Flagsmith?
LaunchDarkly is the commercial leader, on 44,398 domains in our October 2026 table, and the only like-for-like rival there. Only 1 domain runs both tools today. GrowthBook, PostHog and Statsig all publish Flagsmith-alternatives pages, and Unleash is the other open-source name that keeps coming up. Pick by hosting needs: Flagsmith's core is open source and can be self-hosted.
Which countries use Flagsmith the most?
The United States, with 138 matched companies, then the United Kingdom (41), Canada (28), Australia (23) and France (18). The Netherlands (15), Germany (14) and Switzerland (8) follow, so continental Europe is a real market for Flagsmith. These counts exclude the British shops that only get Flagsmith through Super Payments' checkout script.
What size companies use Flagsmith?
Mostly small ones. 36.09% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees, 31.58% have 11 to 50 and 21.05% have 51 to 200. Seventeen companies have more than 1,000 staff, including Cytiva, Sunrun and Cloudstaff. That mix fits an open-source tool with a free plan and paid enterprise options, based on our October 2026 data.
How old are companies that use Flagsmith?
Young, for an infrastructure tool. Among matched companies with a known founding year, 47.56% were founded in the 2010s and 31.92% in the 2020s, with only 8.79% from the 2000s. The 12 founded before 1960 include Jersey Mike's (1956), the Swiss National Science Foundation (1952) and the football club Feyenoord (1908).
What is the ideal customer profile for Flagsmith?
The ideal Flagsmith customer is: Company Size: 1-10 employees, then 11-50, Location: US, then UK, Canada, Australia, Founded: 2010-2019, with 31.92% in the 2020s, Industry: Software and financial services, Where it runs: Logged-in web apps built on Next.js — based on our analysis of 406 enriched companies at TechnologyChecker.io.
What does Flagsmith do?
Flagsmith lets developers wrap a feature in a flag and turn it on or off, or change its settings, without a new deployment. Its pricing page lists segments, remote configuration, scheduled flags and A/B tests. It runs as a cloud service or on a company's own servers. Our crawl sees the JavaScript SDK on 673 domains in October 2026.
How much does Flagsmith cost per month?
Flagsmith's pricing page lists a Free plan with 50,000 API requests a month and one team member. Start-Up costs $45 a month, or $40 billed yearly, for a million requests and three members. Scale-Up is $300, or $250 yearly, for five million requests and five members. Enterprise is quoted. Extra requests start at $50 per million. Checked 16 October 2026.
Can I self-host Flagsmith?
Yes. Flagsmith's core is open source under the BSD-3-Clause licence, and its site sells supported self-hosted and private-cloud deployments on the Enterprise plan. Our crawl shows companies running it on their own infrastructure or behind their own proxy: of 69 pages where we watched the SDK call home, 22 used an address the company runs, such as api-flagsmith.mekari.com or features.freedommobile.ca.
Is Flagsmith open source?
Yes. Flagsmith's open-source page says the platform is released under the BSD-3-Clause licence, with no restrictions on commercial use, and that flags, segments, user targeting and remote configuration will stay open. Its GitHub repository dates from June 2018. Paid plans add hosting, team members, single sign-on and governance features on top of that core.
What are some popular platforms for feature flags?
By our crawl, LaunchDarkly is far ahead, on 44,398 domains in October 2026, with Flagsmith next among flag tools on 673. Those are client-side counts: tools used only on servers or in mobile apps leave little for a website crawler to find. Open-source options like Flagsmith also run on private servers, which hides some installs from any outside count.
Flagsmith vs LaunchDarkly: which is used more?
LaunchDarkly, by a wide margin. Our October 2026 table shows it on 44,398 domains against Flagsmith's 673, about 66 times more. The two rarely overlap: since March 2026 only 10 domains have run both at some point, and 1 runs both today. Flagsmith's case rests on its open-source core and self-hosting, which LaunchDarkly doesn't offer.
Why does Flagsmith show up on online shops?
Mostly because of Super Payments, a UK payment provider. Its checkout script loads a dependency file that contains the Flagsmith SDK, so the shop shows Flagsmith even though only Super uses the flags. Our crawl found 74 such shops, 54 of them British. They aren't Flagsmith customers in any sales sense, so we removed them from the count on this page.
