Our October 2026 crawl finds GrowthBook's JavaScript SDK on 3,706 live domains. That count leaves out 1,722 online stores built on ShopDeck, an Indian store builder that runs its own checkout and pricing tests on its merchants' storefronts under a single GrowthBook client key: one GrowthBook customer, not 1,722. Below is the list of companies that use GrowthBook, with size, country, industry and stack. It includes TED, EDF Energy, Zara Home, Dropbox's learning site and The New Yorker.

GrowthBook is an open-source platform for feature flags and A/B tests. On the cleaned count it ranks 11th of the 33 tools we track in A/B Testing & Experimentation, with 0.65% of the category; with the ShopDeck stores included it was 9th on 5,448 domains. One limit applies to every number here: we only see GrowthBook when it runs in a visitor's browser, so teams using its SDKs on servers or in mobile apps don't show up.

GrowthBook Usage Statistics

Our chart has one point so far: 3,706 domains in October 2026, the first month we count GrowthBook with the ShopDeck stores removed, so there's no trend to read yet. Since tracking began in March 2026, 1,542 domains dropped GrowthBook on at least one hostname. Of the drops we examined in October, 117 still ran it on another hostname, 182 now serve gambling pages on expired domains and 122 were ShopDeck stores, so far fewer than 1,542 are customers that left.

List of Companies Using GrowthBook

Who uses GrowthBook? This list of companies using GrowthBook names 50 of the 1,696 matched companies, and we confirmed GrowthBook on 46 of their pages in October 2026 (the other four sit behind bot walls or showed no marker). We removed six rows where GrowthBook ran under another company's account or couldn't be tied to the named company: two travel sites run by booking platforms, two sports sites where it came inside a video-preview script, CBS News, where we found no GrowthBook at all, and a Benetton row matched to its Indian subsidiary. At large companies the user is often one team, such as Dropbox on learn.dropbox.com or Smartfit on its customer portal.

GrowthBook Market Share Among A/B Testing & Experimentation

What is GrowthBook's market share? 0.65% of A/B Testing & Experimentation, 11th of the 33 tools we track there, on 3,706 domains after removing ShopDeck's 1,722 stores, counted at TechnologyChecker.io. VWO (8.4%, 47,938 domains) and Optimizely (8.03%, 45,810) each have 12 to 13 times as many. Part of that gap is invisible to any crawl: GrowthBook is often used in back-end code and apps, where only the company itself can see it.

GrowthBook Customers by Company Size & Age

What size companies use GrowthBook? Mostly small ones. 37.55% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 27.52% have 11 to 50, so 65.07% have 50 staff or fewer. 87 companies have more than 1,000 staff, including EDF Energy, Bright Horizons, Jumeirah and Würth, and several of them use GrowthBook on a single site.

Company Size Distribution

Company Age (Founded Decade)

The largest group of matched companies was founded in the 2010s (39.5%), then the 2020s (19.48%) and the 2000s (16.1%). That's a young base, but not only start-ups: 6.14% were founded before 1960, among them Würth (1945), The New Yorker (1925) and Breitling (1884).

What Industries Use GrowthBook the Most?

Software Development leads at 8.69%, then Technology, Information and Internet and Retail (5.07% each), Wellness and Fitness Services (3.81%) and Broadcast Media (3.5%), based on our enriched company data. Travel brands using GrowthBook include Jumeirah, Silversea, GNV and eSky, whose GrowthBook key also runs thomascook.com.

GrowthBook Alternatives & Competitors

The rows are like for like in one sense: VWO, Optimizely, Kameleoon and Intelligems are all counted from scripts running in the browser. They differ in what they sell. Intelligems runs on Shopify stores, while GrowthBook also sells feature flags, unlimited on every plan of its pricing page. 133 GrowthBook domains run VWO today, 41 run Optimizely and 39 run Intelligems, out of 440, 165 and 54 ever seen with both. We don't publish switching rows: the apparent move to VWO was mostly Indonesian gambling clones on expired domains, and the Optimizely rows were one owner's estate.

How We Counted GrowthBook Sites

A domain counts here when a page on it links to cdn.growthbook.io or creates the objects GrowthBook's JavaScript SDK leaves in the browser (_growthbook, growthbook, or a growthBookApiHost setting). The generic growthbook name could in principle be something else, so we opened 40 random domains from the raw list in October 2026. 31 loaded, and all 31 were running GrowthBook's SDK; the other nine were bot walls, timeouts or dead hosts. 13 of the 31 were ShopDeck stores.

Our crawl found the SDK on 5,443 domains. We removed 1,722 ShopDeck storefronts, identified by ShopDeck's asset servers in our script logs or its "Buy … products online at best prices" title template, and 17 domains with for-sale or gambling titles (two domains fell in both groups), leaving 3,706. In 11 ShopDeck stores we inspected, every one loaded GrowthBook with the same client key through the same CloudFront proxy, and the flags we could read were ShopDeck's own: a checkout revamp, autofill changes, and pricing and ratings experiments. That is the store builder testing its product on its merchants' traffic, one GrowthBook customer rather than 1,722. With the stores included, GrowthBook counted 5,448 domains in our category data and ranked 9th; on 3,706 it is 11th with 0.65%. Every chart and table on this page uses the 3,706.

Smaller groups inside the 3,706 work the same way, and we've left them in. 87 news and sports sites, including CBS Sports and FOX Sports, get GrowthBook inside a video-preview script served from minute-ly.com, and about 40 sites on Simpleview's tourism CMS do too, 27 of which we saw calling GrowthBook through Simpleview's API host. 38 domains, Unibet's among them, load it from growthbook-api.kindredext.net, and 51 carry the same three dating-site titles. Without the video-script sites the count would be 3,619. The 50 named companies leave out six rows that ran GrowthBook under another company's account or couldn't be tied to the named company.

Expert Analysis: GrowthBook Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

Mehmet Suleyman
Mehmet SuleymanCEO & Co-founder, TechnologyChecker

I've spent a lot of time on how experimentation tools show up in a crawl, and GrowthBook needed more taking apart than most. Our October 2026 crawl found its SDK on 5,443 raw domains. The detection itself is sound: on 40 random domains, every one of the 31 pages that loaded was running GrowthBook. The question was whose GrowthBook, because 13 of those 31 were ShopDeck stores. With them removed, GrowthBook is on 3,706 domains, 11th of 33 in A/B Testing & Experimentation, with 1,696 matched to a company.

Why ShopDeck is out

ShopDeck builds online stores for Indian direct-to-consumer brands; its site says more than 5,000 brands use it. Every ShopDeck store I inspected loaded GrowthBook with the same client key, through the same CloudFront proxy, and the feature list read like ShopDeck's product roadmap: a checkout revamp, autofill changes, pricing and ratings experiments. Those merchants never chose GrowthBook. ShopDeck did, once. So we removed 1,722 ShopDeck storefronts, which moved GrowthBook from 5,448 domains and 9th place to 3,706 and 11th.

Sales signal: experimentation buyers are the 3,706. If you sell to ShopDeck merchants, the stores are a list of their own, but they aren't GrowthBook buyers.

Where the count stands

The chart has a single October point, the first month on the cleaned count, so there's no trend to read. Churn needs the same care. 1,542 domains dropped GrowthBook on at least one hostname since we began tracking it in March 2026. Of the drops we examined in October, 117 still ran it on another hostname, 182 now host gambling pages (expired domains with new owners) and 122 were ShopDeck stores.

"GrowthBook's browser footprint is about 3,700 sites. ShopDeck's 1,722 stores looked like customers, and they were one customer." - Mehmet Suleyman, CEO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io

Sales signal: treat GrowthBook's visible base as a few thousand domains. Its server-side use, which we can't count, is where most of its growth would show, so don't judge the company by this number.

Who the customers are

37.55% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 27.52% have 11 to 50. 19.48% were founded in the 2020s. Above them is a real enterprise tail of 87 companies with more than 1,000 staff, and the named ones are worth reading: EDF Energy, Bright Horizons, Jumeirah, Würth's e-shop, Zara Home and Lefties (both on Inditex's shared setup), and The New Yorker, SELF and Bon Appétit. Several call their own GrowthBook API hosts, TED among them, which usually means self-hosting or GrowthBook's proxy.

Sales signal: the enterprise rows are likely engineering-led buyers who picked an open-source tool they could host. Pitch data-warehouse integrations and developer tooling, not a visual editor.

Industry and geography

The United States has 717 matched companies and the United Kingdom 153. The ten European countries in our top 15 add up to 445, and Brazil and India have 44 each. Industries are spread thin. Software Development leads at 8.69%, Technology, Information and Internet and Retail have 5.07% each, and the top ten cover 38.84%. Wellness and Fitness (3.81%) stands out, partly because Smartfit runs it on 12 domains, and travel is a cluster of its own: Jumeirah, Silversea, GNV and eSky, whose key also runs thomascook.com.

Sales signal: for Europe, filter to the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Germany; for Latin America, Brazil. Software and internet companies are the biggest single group to work.

Switching

This page has no switching table, and that's deliberate. Our records showed 155 domains leaving GrowthBook for VWO. When I checked them, 116 were Indonesian gambling pages on expired domains, often copying another site's code with VWO's tag inside, and 8 had no site. About 24 belonged to working businesses. The two Optimizely rows were mostly Salesforce: 29 of the 39 gains and 16 of the 18 losses were Salesforce-owned domains, many of them redirects. The cleanest flow was 24 domains gained from VWO, about 18 businesses, Blue Bottle Coffee, PizzaExpress and Miller's Ale House among them.

"Strip out the expired domains and the redirects, and GrowthBook and VWO trade about two dozen working sites each way. That's a stand-off, not a rout." - Mehmet Suleyman, CEO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io

Sales signal: 133 domains run GrowthBook and VWO side by side today. Those are teams with two testing bills, the best-qualified consolidation prospects on the page.

The stack around it

Across the 3,706 domains, Google Analytics runs on 74.42%. Next.js leads the frameworks at 29.92%, with Vue.js on 13.28% and React on 10.55%, and Amazon Web Services hosts 23.34%. Product analytics is thin: PostHog on 5.91%, Amplitude 3.97%, Mixpanel 3.59%. GrowthBook reads results from a company's own data warehouse, so a missing analytics tag doesn't mean missing analysis.

Sales signal: Next.js teams on AWS or Vercel are the core profile. Warehouse, event pipeline and CDP vendors have a natural opening here.

Price and licence

GrowthBook's pricing page, checked on 13 October 2026, lists a free Starter plan for up to 3 users, Pro at $40 per seat per month for up to 30 users, and custom Enterprise pricing. Its GitHub repository is under the MIT licence outside three enterprise directories. That pricing fits a list that leans small, though we can't see which plan any domain is on.

Sales signal: per-seat pricing caps at 30 users on Pro, so growing teams hit an Enterprise conversation early. That's the moment a rival can get in.

Key takeaways

1. 3,706 domains, 11th of 33, after removing 1,722 ShopDeck stores on one account.

2. Without the 87 video-script sites, about 3,619 remain.

3. A real enterprise tail of 87 large companies, some calling their own GrowthBook hosts.

4. The apparent switch to VWO was mostly gambling pages; real flows are about two dozen each way.

How to use this list

Start by excluding the 87 video-script sites. For outreach, lead with the setup you can see: "You run GrowthBook alongside VWO; we help teams consolidate." For targeting, filter to companies above 200 staff in the United States, United Kingdom and Netherlands. Our guide to how technology detection works explains why server-side tools are hard to see. Frequently Asked Questions

Who uses GrowthBook?

Our October 2026 crawl finds GrowthBook on 3,706 domains, after removing 1,722 ShopDeck stores that run under ShopDeck's own account. Named users include TED, EDF Energy, Zara Home, The New Yorker, Dropbox's learning site, Jumeirah and ClickUp. Software Development is the top industry at 8.69%, and 37.55% of matched companies have 1 to 10 employees.

How many customers does GrowthBook have?

We count domains, not contracts: 3,706 load GrowthBook's SDK in our October 2026 crawl, and 1,696 match a company. That excludes 1,722 ShopDeck stores, which are one GrowthBook customer. Teams using GrowthBook only on servers or in apps are invisible to us. Since March 2026, 1,542 domains dropped it on some hostname, many of them expired domains.

What is GrowthBook's market share?

0.65% of A/B Testing & Experimentation, 11th of the 33 tools we track there, on 3,706 domains. VWO has 8.4% and Optimizely 8.03%. With the ShopDeck stores included, GrowthBook would count 5,448 domains and rank 9th. Much GrowthBook use is server-side feature flagging, which a crawl can't see, so the share undercounts it.

What are the best alternatives to GrowthBook?

For browser A/B tests, VWO (47,938 domains) and Optimizely (45,810) are the big paid options; Kameleoon (3,425) is smaller. For Shopify price tests, Intelligems. For feature flags, GrowthBook compares itself with LaunchDarkly, and Statsig and PostHog publish their own GrowthBook comparisons. 133 GrowthBook domains already run VWO beside it, so the tools often coexist.

Which countries use GrowthBook the most?

The United States, with 717 matched companies, then the United Kingdom (153), the Netherlands (59), Germany (58), and Brazil and India with 44 each. The ten European countries in our top 15 add up to 445, so Europe is the clear second market. These counts cover the 1,696 GrowthBook domains we matched to a company.

What size companies use GrowthBook?

Mostly small ones. 37.55% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 27.52% have 11 to 50, so 65.07% have 50 staff or fewer. 87 companies have more than 1,000 staff, including EDF Energy, Bright Horizons, Jumeirah and Würth, and several of them run GrowthBook on one site rather than everywhere.

How old are companies that use GrowthBook?

Among matched companies with a known founding year, 39.5% were founded in the 2010s, 19.48% in the 2020s and 16.1% in the 2000s. 6.14% were founded before 1960, including Würth, The New Yorker and Breitling, so established firms use it as well as start-ups. GrowthBook itself was founded in 2020, per Y Combinator, so most of its users are older than it is.

What is the ideal customer profile for GrowthBook?

The ideal GrowthBook customer is: Company Size: 1-10 employees, then 11-50, Location: United States, then UK, Netherlands, Germany, Industry: Software, internet, retail and fitness, Founded: 2010-2019 (39.5%), Site stack: Next.js front end on AWS with Google Analytics — based on our analysis of 1,696 enriched companies at TechnologyChecker.io.

Is GrowthBook free to use?

Yes, in two ways. Its code is open source on GitHub under the MIT licence, apart from enterprise folders under a separate licence, so you can self-host it. And GrowthBook Cloud's Starter plan is free for up to 3 users and 1 project, with unlimited flags, experiments and traffic, per its pricing page on 13 October 2026.

How much does GrowthBook cost per month?

GrowthBook's pricing page lists Starter free for up to 3 users, Pro at $40 per seat per month for up to 30 users and 3 projects, and Enterprise at a custom price with SSO, approval workflows and uptime SLAs. A ten-person team on Pro would pay $400 a month. Prices checked 13 October 2026; traffic and experiments are unlimited on every plan.

Is GrowthBook open source?

Mostly. Its GitHub repository is under the MIT (Expat) licence, except three enterprise directories covered by the GrowthBook Enterprise License. Self-hosting shows in our crawl: TED serves it from api-growthbook.ted.com, and other sites call their own GrowthBook API hosts instead of GrowthBook's CDN. Y Combinator's profile describes it as an open source platform.

Who is the CEO of GrowthBook?

Graham McNicoll, who co-founded GrowthBook with CTO Jeremy Dorn. Both previously worked at Education.com, according to Y Combinator's company profile, which lists GrowthBook as founded in 2020, part of the Winter 2022 batch and based in San Francisco with a team of 46. Our crawl finds its SDK on 3,706 domains.

GrowthBook vs Optimizely: are sites switching?

Not in a way our data can confirm. Our records showed 39 domains gaining GrowthBook from Optimizely and 18 going the other way, but 29 and 16 of them were Salesforce-owned domains, one company's estate, so we don't publish those rows. Optimizely has 45,810 domains to GrowthBook's 3,706, and 41 GrowthBook domains run both today.

Why does this page leave out ShopDeck stores?

Because ShopDeck, the Indian store builder, runs GrowthBook on its merchants' storefronts under its own account. All 11 ShopDeck stores we inspected in October 2026 loaded it with the same client key, and the flags we could read covered ShopDeck's checkout and pricing experiments. We removed 1,722 such domains, 31.6% of the 5,443 raw count.
