Companies Using Kameleoon
Our October 2026 crawl finds Kameleoon's testing snippet on 3,425 domains. That headline includes 264 alias domains of a single customer, Kleinanzeigen, the German classifieds site once called eBay Kleinanzeigen; we count them in the 3,425 but leave them out of the company, country, size, industry and stack breakdowns below. What remains is a European, larger-company list. France (327 matched companies) and Germany (292) both come ahead of the United States (248), and 271 of the 1,464 matched companies with a known size (18.5%) have more than 1,000 staff.
Below is the list of companies that use Kameleoon, with size, country, industry and stack. It includes Johnson & Johnson, Michelin, EDF, Accor's booking site, Lidl's country sites and Reebok. Kameleoon ranks 12th of the 33 tools we track in A/B Testing & Experimentation, with a 0.6% share. Big customers run it on whole sets of country, campaign and event domains, so read the count as domains rather than companies: of 30 random domains we opened, 13 forwarded to another domain.

Kameleoon Usage Statistics
Kameleoon reads 3,147 domains in June 2026, 3,753 in July, 3,807 in August, 3,314 in September and 3,425 in October. Don't read that line as adoption. The set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and newly found ones added, and our detection widened over the summer, so the July and August highs and the September fall are changes on our side as much as on customers'. Churn is clearer. Since we began tracking Kameleoon on 17 March 2026, 1,061 domains have dropped it from at least one hostname; 327 of them still run it on another hostname, which leaves 734 that dropped it everywhere we look.

Which Countries Use Kameleoon the Most?
Which countries use Kameleoon the most? France, with 327 matched companies, then Germany (292) and the United States (248), with the United Kingdom (100), Switzerland (74) and the Netherlands (50) behind. That order sets it apart from its rivals. VWO's and Optimizely's profiles are led by the United States by a wide margin, and even AB Tasty's has the US just ahead of France, 485 to 466. Kameleoon's about page lists offices in Paris and Offenburg as well as London, New York and Toronto. These counts cover the 1,597 Kameleoon domains we matched to a company.
Share of the 1,597 Kameleoon domains we matched to a company record — 46.6% of the 3,425 we detect. Top 15 countries shown, so these do not sum to 100%. Domains with no matching company record are not represented here and skew small and independent.
Kameleoon Market Share Among A/B Testing & Experimentation
What is Kameleoon's market share? 0.6% of A/B Testing & Experimentation, 12th of the 33 tools we track there, on 3,425 domains in our October 2026 crawl at TechnologyChecker.io. VWO (47,938 domains, 8.4%) and Optimizely (45,810, 8.03%) are each more than 13 times its size. AB Tasty, the rival whose customer base looks most like Kameleoon's, has 5,714 (1.0%). Google Optimize's 19,968 aren't like-for-like: Google switched it off on 30 September 2023, so those are tags that outlived the product.
Top Competitors by Market Share
Kameleoon Customers by Company Size & Age
What size companies use Kameleoon? Larger ones than its rivals attract. 271 of the 1,464 matched companies with a known size (18.5%) have more than 1,000 staff, against 6.12% on VWO's profile, 4.5% on Optimizely's and 15.24% on AB Tasty's. The smallest band, 1 to 10 employees, is still the largest single group at 23.91%, so this isn't an enterprise-only list. Big customers also count more than once: Hilti alone has at least 31 matched domains.
Company Size Distribution
Company Age (Founded Decade)
The largest group of matched companies was founded in the 2010s (24.07%), but the next is before 1960 (21.48%), almost three times VWO's 7.85% and well above Optimizely's 14.05% and AB Tasty's 15.62%. Only 5.4% date from the 2020s. The oldest names on the list include Johnson & Johnson (1887), Michelin (1889) and BRED Banque Populaire (1919).
What Industries Use Kameleoon the Most?
Retail leads at 13.54% (190 matched companies), then Construction (5.27%), Hospitality (5.2%) and Software Development (3.78%), based on our enriched company data. Construction's place comes mostly from one customer: 31 of its 74 matches are Hilti sites. Hospitality includes Accor brands such as Sofitel, Mövenpick and Raffles. Outside those three, no industry passes 4%.
Retailers using Kameleoon include Lidl, which serves it from its own servers under a separate site code in each country, plus OBI, Peek & Cloppenburg and Hunkemöller. Hotel groups on Kameleoon include Accor on all.accor.com, with Sofitel, Mövenpick, Fairmont and Raffles on their own sites. Healthcare organisations using Kameleoon include Johnson & Johnson and Cedars-Sinai, and the International Rescue Committee runs it on rescue.org.
Kameleoon Alternatives & Competitors
VWO and Optimizely are far bigger, but they seldom share a domain with Kameleoon. Today 62 domains run Kameleoon and VWO, 70 run it with Optimizely and 38 with AB Tasty. None of these pairs passes our switching tests, because most domains ever seen with both still run both: 62 of 102 for VWO, 70 of 87 for Optimizely, 38 of 47 for AB Tasty. Google Optimize is in the table on 19,968 domains, but Google shut it down in September 2023, so it isn't competing for anyone's budget.

Expert Analysis: Kameleoon Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

I expected Kameleoon to look like a smaller VWO. Its customer list doesn't. A domain counts here when a page loads Kameleoon's script from kameleoon.io or kameleoon.eu, sets its visitor-code cookie or creates its JavaScript object. Our October 2026 crawl finds that on 3,425 domains, 12th of 33 tools in A/B testing, and 1,597 of them match a named company. To test the rule I opened 30 random domains in a browser. Five didn't load. 23 of the 25 that did ran Kameleoon; one set its cookie without the script finishing, and one showed nothing.
Domains, codes and accounts
Every Kameleoon install carries a ten-character site code in its script address, so we can count accounts as well as domains. In the 2,430 domains where our crawl could read one, there are 1,002 codes. 649 of them appear on a single domain. At the other end, 33 codes cover 10 or more domains each, 771 domains between them. The biggest is Informa Connect's: one code on 100 event and brand domains that forward to informaconnect.com. Hilti and Michelin run sets of country sites, and Lidl goes further, serving Kameleoon from its own servers under a different code in each country. I read 22 site codes in the random sample, and every one belonged to the site's owner or to the brand it forwarded to. No agency or platform account turned up there. Kameleoon's about page says more than 1,000 brands run tests with it, which sits close to our 1,002 codes.
Sales signal: dedupe a Kameleoon list by site code or redirect target before you count accounts. 13 of my 30 random domains forwarded to another domain, so 3,425 domains are far fewer buyers.
The line since June
The chart reads 3,147 domains in June 2026, 3,753 in July, 3,807 in August, 3,314 in September and 3,425 in October. None of that is a clean adoption signal. The set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and new ones added, and our detection widened over the summer, so the July and August highs and the September fall are partly our doing. Churn is easier to read. Since we started tracking Kameleoon on 17 March 2026, 1,061 domains have dropped it from at least one hostname. 327 of those still run it on another hostname, which leaves 734 that dropped it everywhere we look.
"Kameleoon's list reads like a European enterprise roster, not a long tail of small shops. One in five matched companies was founded before 1960." - Sophie Clarke, Product Marketing Manager at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: this is a pool of a few thousand domains and about a thousand site codes, steady rather than growing. Work it as an account list, not a volume play.
Who the customers are
Of the 1,464 matched companies with a known size, 271 (18.5%) have more than 1,000 staff. VWO's profile shows 6.12% in those bands, Optimizely's 4.5% and AB Tasty's 15.24%. The smallest band, 1 to 10 employees, is still the biggest single group at 23.91%, so the list isn't enterprise-only. Age is the sharper split. 21.48% of matched companies with a known founding year date from before 1960, against 7.85% for VWO and 14.05% for Optimizely, and only 5.4% from the 2020s. The large names often run Kameleoon on one property: Turkish Airlines on its holidays site, EDF on its consumer site, MAIF on its member login, Accor on its booking hub. Johnson & Johnson, Michelin, Arkema and Orange Business run it on their main sites.
Sales signal: at a large Kameleoon account, find the team that owns the property where it runs, such as e-commerce, bookings or member services, before you go to a central digital team.
France and Germany first
France has 327 matched companies, Germany 292 and the United States 248, then the United Kingdom (100), Switzerland (74) and the Netherlands (50). VWO and Optimizely are US-led on their profiles, and even AB Tasty, which also leans French, has the US just ahead. Kameleoon's about page lists offices in Paris and Offenburg next to London, New York and Toronto. Industries follow the same customers. Retail leads at 13.54%, but Construction comes second at 5.27% largely because of one company: 31 of its 74 matches are Hilti sites. Hospitality (5.2%) carries Accor's brands, including Sofitel, Mövenpick and Raffles.
Sales signal: for a French or German pitch, this is a well-qualified list of companies that already pay for testing. For US prospecting it's thin, with 248 matched companies.
Rivals on the same sites
VWO (47,938 domains) and Optimizely (45,810) are each more than 13 times Kameleoon's size in our crawl, yet they rarely share a domain with it. 62 domains run Kameleoon and VWO today, 70 run it with Optimizely and 38 with AB Tasty. None of these pairs passes our switching tests, because most domains ever seen with both still run both: 62 of 102 for VWO, 70 of 87 for Optimizely and 38 of 47 for AB Tasty. The crawl can't tell us whether a shared domain means two teams or a trial of the other tool, so I don't read any of it as switching. Google Optimize still shows 19,968 domains in the category table, but Google switched it off on 30 September 2023, so those are tags left on pages.
"Kameleoon and its big rivals rarely meet on the same domain, and when they do, most keep both. I don't see a migration story here in either direction." - Sophie Clarke, Product Marketing Manager at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: a rip-and-replace pitch against Kameleoon has little evidence behind it. The 70 domains that run Optimizely too are the most concrete place to start a consolidation conversation.
The stack around it
These percentages are of the 3,464 live Kameleoon domains left after our exclusions. Google Tag Manager runs on 82.85% and Google Analytics on 55.92%, with Piano Analytics (6.93%) and Adobe Analytics (2.71%) as the paid alternatives. Consent tooling is heavy: OneTrust on 21.54%, Usercentrics on 16.14%, Didomi on 14.64%. Microsoft Clarity is on 25.49%, Hotjar on 6.55% and Contentsquare on 2.92%. Drupal (7.53%) and Adobe Experience Manager (6.87%) almost match WordPress (7.77%), another sign that enterprise web teams own these sites.
Sales signal: Kameleoon sites are tag-managed and consent-gated. A vendor selling into them should expect a tag manager review and a consent category before anything fires.
What it costs
Kameleoon's plans page (checked 13 October 2026) lists a 30-day PBX Starter free trial with no credit card and up to three experiments. PBX Starter starts at $495 a month for up to 10 experiments and 50,000 visitors a month on one project. Enterprise is custom-priced, with unlimited experiments and tested traffic, and add-ons for feature management, personalisation and mobile app testing.
Sales signal: the entry plan is aimed at teams that can't yet justify an enterprise contract, a different buyer from most of this list. New single-domain site codes are where that segment will show up first.
Key takeaways
1. 3,425 domains, 12th of 33 in A/B testing with a 0.6% share.
2. 1,002 site codes across the 2,430 domains where we could read one; a single code can cover 100 domains.
3. France (327) and Germany (292) both lead the United States (248).
4. 18.5% of matched companies with a known size have more than 1,000 staff, and 21.48% were founded before 1960.
5. Overlaps with VWO, Optimizely and AB Tasty are small, and most domains that have run both still do.
