Storyblok Usage Statistics

Storyblok reads 7,845 live domains in June 2026, 9,292 in July, 9,536 in August, 10,277 in September and 10,631 in October. Part of that rise is our side: the set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and newly found ones added, and our detection signals widen over time. The June to July step (1,447 domains) is the one to discount most; the monthly gains since were 244, 741 and 354. Since we began tracking it in mid-March 2026, 688 domains have dropped Storyblok, and 94 of those still run it on another hostname.

List of Companies Using Storyblok

Who uses Storyblok? This list of companies that use Storyblok names 50 of the 6,783 matched companies, ranked by LinkedIn following. When we reopened them in October 2026, 42 showed Storyblok's asset CDN, its editor script or a security policy that lets Storyblok's editor preview the site; the other 8 sat behind bot checks or didn't load. Big companies often run Storyblok on one site, such as careers.telekom.com or event.metso.com, so the Storyblok customer there is usually one team.

Storyblok Market Share Among CMS & Website Builders

What is Storyblok's market share? 0.06% of CMS & Website Builders, #58 by domain count, based on our live crawl at TechnologyChecker.io. The category holds 16,669,699 domains and WordPress dominates it, so the share says little about Storyblok's standing among headless CMSs. Among those it is second in our table. Sanity has 35,994 domains, about 3.4 times Storyblok's 10,631, while Prismic (8,856), DatoCMS (4,537), Contentful (4,329) and Strapi (3,306) are smaller.

Mostly small and mid-sized ones. 38.73% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees, 28.65% have 11 to 50 and 17.89% have 51 to 200. 330 have more than 1,000 staff, about 5.2% of the 6,373 with a known size, against 1.86% on Sanity's profile. Big companies often run Storyblok on one site: Deutsche Telekom on careers.telekom.com, Kuehne + Nagel on its privacy pages, Metso on an events site.

Company Size Distribution

Company Age (Founded Decade)

The largest group of matched companies was founded in the 2010s (34.8%), and 18.38% date from the 2020s, so 53.18% were founded in 2010 or later. The 2000s add 18.03%. The older tail is real too: 8.2% were founded before 1960, including Kuehne + Nagel (1890), Roche (1896) and Greggs (1939).

What Industries Use Storyblok the Most?

Software Development leads at 5.89%, then Retail (4.94%), IT Services and IT Consulting (4.84%) and Technology, Information and Internet (3.65%), based on our enriched company data. No industry reaches 6%, and the top ten add up to 35.48%. Storyblok Alternatives & Competitors

The table puts Storyblok among the other headless CMSs. Sanity is the only bigger one, at 35,994 domains (0.22%). Prismic (8,856), DatoCMS (4,537), Contentful (4,329) and Strapi (3,306) follow. The last three fall outside the category's top 100, so we computed their shares from our October count over the same 16,669,699-domain total. Treat Contentful's and Strapi's numbers as floors. We count Storyblok, Sanity, Prismic and DatoCMS from images served by their own CDNs, but Contentful only when a browser calls its API, and Strapi only from its header or scripts.

Storyblok Customer Migration

These counts are domains, over the last 30 and 90 days and since we began tracking in March 2026. A CMS change means rebuilding the site, so each row is a replatform. WordPress feeds Storyblok far more than it takes back: 320 domains left WordPress for Storyblok and 70 went the other way, about 4.6 to one, with 119 of the 320 in the last 30 days. They arrived on 86 separate days, not in one bulk move, and 38 still run WordPress on another hostname. Webflow (56 in, 13 out) and Prismic (21 in, 3 out) lean the same way. Sanity doesn't: 15 domains left Storyblok for Sanity and 6 came the other way.

Expert Analysis: Storyblok Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

Mehmet Suleyman
Mehmet SuleymanCEO & Co-founder, TechnologyChecker

I've spent most of my career on crawling infrastructure, and a headless CMS is one of the harder things to count, because the CMS never renders the page itself. Storyblok leaves three traces we can read. Its images load from a.storyblok.com, its visual editor needs the site's security policy to allow app.storyblok.com, and its editor bridge script sometimes ships to the live site. A domain counts if any of them shows. That gives 10,631 live domains in our October 2026 crawl, 6,783 of them matched to a company.

The image clause is the loose one, because anyone can paste a Storyblok-hosted image into their own page. So I opened 30 random live Storyblok domains in a browser. 27 showed Storyblok. In every one, the images came from the site's own Storyblok space and ran across the page, or Storyblok's editor script or policy was present. I found no hotlinked images. The other three didn't load or showed nothing that day. A wider check agrees: of the 5,593 Storyblok domains where we recorded a social preview image, 2,799 serve it from Storyblok's CDN. What does inflate the count is redirects. 9 of the 30 forwarded to another domain, arcllc.com to FGS Global's site for one, so read 10,631 as domains, not companies.

Growth after one step

The chart reads 7,845 in June, 9,292 in July, 9,536 in August, 10,277 in September and 10,631 in October. Some of that rise is ours: the set of domains we crawl turns over each month, with dead sites leaving and newly found ones arriving, and our detection widens over time. The June to July step of 1,447 is the one to discount most. Exits are small. Since mid-March, 688 domains have dropped Storyblok, and 94 of them still run it on another hostname, which leaves 594 that left it entirely.

"Storyblok added 2,786 domains on our chart between June and October and lost about 594 outright since March. Even after discounting our own coverage gains, that's a CMS still winning sites." - Mehmet Suleyman, CEO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io

Sales signal: treat Storyblok as a growing pool of about 10,600 domains, with new adopters arriving every month from WordPress (see below). That makes it a good list for monthly refreshes.

Who the customers are

38.73% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 28.65% have 11 to 50. They're young: 34.8% were founded in the 2010s and 18.38% in the 2020s. The enterprise tail is bigger than those shares suggest. 330 companies have more than 1,000 staff, about 5.2% of those with a known size, against 1.86% on Sanity's profile, and the names are mostly European groups: Roche, Deutsche Telekom, Kuehne + Nagel, Greggs, Stadler Rail, BESIX, Engel & Völkers. Many run Storyblok on one site. Deutsche Telekom uses it for careers.telekom.com, Kuehne + Nagel for its privacy pages, Metso for an events site.

Two names appear on both sides. Our crawl finds Storyblok on deliveroo.co.uk, and Storyblok's August 2023 announcement names Deliveroo as a customer. The same release names BlackLine, whose site loads images from two Storyblok spaces.

Sales signal: at a large account the Storyblok buyer is usually the owner of one property, such as recruiting, investor relations or events. Find that team before you pitch the group.

Germany first, and a Porsche fleet

Germany has 1,133 matched companies, the United States 972, the Netherlands 792 and the United Kingdom 684. Add Austria (299) and Switzerland (259) and the German-speaking countries reach 1,691, more than the US and UK together. Sweden, Denmark and Norway add 553. Sanity's, Contentful's and Strapi's profiles all put the US first.

Industries are spread thin. Software Development leads at 5.89% and nothing reaches 6%. The one outlier is a fleet: Motor Vehicle Manufacturing holds 2.79% (172 companies), and 83 of those matches are domains with Porsche in the name. Porsche dealer sites such as asheville.porsche.com load their images from Storyblok, and 312 live Storyblok domains carry the Porsche name.

Sales signal: a German- or Dutch-speaking sales team will find this list unusually well matched. Treat the Porsche dealer domains as one account, Porsche's, not 312 prospects.

Where sites come from

These counts are domains, since we began tracking in March 2026. The flow from WordPress is the story: 320 domains left WordPress for Storyblok and 70 went back, about 4.6 to one. The 320 arrived on 86 different days, never more than 10 in one day, so these are separate rebuilds, and 119 came in the last 30 days. 38 of them still run WordPress on another hostname. Webflow leans the same way (56 in, 13 out), and so does Prismic (21 in, 3 out). Of the rivals with more than five moves either way, Sanity is the only one that takes more sites than it gives: 15 went to Sanity and 6 came from it.

"WordPress sites are moving to Storyblok at more than four to one, a few at a time rather than in bulk. Sanity is the one rival that wins more of these sites than it loses." - Mehmet Suleyman, CEO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io

Sales signal: new Storyblok sites are mostly former WordPress sites rebuilt on a JavaScript front end. The agencies doing those rebuilds are the channel, and the 119 recent arrivals are the freshest list.

The stack around it

Percentages here are of the 10,677 live domains in our clean set. Next.js runs on 48.21% and Nuxt.js on 22.36%. Vercel hosts 33.51%, Amazon Web Services 16.28% and Netlify 13.79%. Tailwind CSS is on 63.15% and Radix UI on 18.19%. Google Analytics is on 56.22%, with Adobe Analytics (3.93%), Plausible (2.51%) and Matomo (2.29%) further down.

Sales signal: a Storyblok site is a Next.js or Nuxt build, often on Vercel. Front-end performance, hosting and edge tooling sell here. WordPress plugins don't.

What it costs

Storyblok's pricing page (checked 10 October 2026) lists a free Starter plan with one seat, 100GB of traffic and 100,000 API requests a month. Growth costs $99 a month, or $90.75 billed annually, with 5 seats and 1 million API requests. Growth Plus is $349, or $319.91, with 15 seats and 4 million. Premium and Elite are quoted. Growth charges extra for more traffic, API calls and locales, so growth in any of them shows up on the bill.

Sales signal: the jump from $99 to $349 is where mid-sized teams stall. Growth customers adding editors or languages are the upgrade conversations.

How to use this list

Filter by country and company size, then collapse redirects and fleets. Dealer networks and a brand's country domains, such as the 46 domains named roche or the 46 named universal-robots, are single accounts. What are the best alternatives to Storyblok?

Sanity is where Storyblok sites go: since March 2026, 15 domains left Storyblok for it and 6 came the other way. Contentful is the rival Storyblok's own comparison pages target. Teams that want a visual site builder instead pick Webflow, though more sites moved from Webflow to Storyblok (56) than back (13).

What does Storyblok do?

Storyblok is a headless CMS with a visual editor, in its own words. Content lives in Storyblok and reaches the site through its API, which is how its plans are metered, and the editor shows a live preview of the real page. In our crawl the front end is usually Next.js (48.21% of Storyblok domains) or Nuxt.js (22.36%), often hosted on Vercel (33.51%).

Is Storyblok free?

Yes, for small projects. The Starter plan is free with one user seat (a second costs $15 a month), 100GB of traffic and 100,000 API requests a month, and you can't buy extra traffic on it. Paid plans start with Growth at $99 a month, and new projects get a 45-day trial of Growth Plus. Checked on Storyblok's pricing page, 10 October 2026.

How much does Storyblok cost?

Storyblok's pricing page lists Starter free, Growth at $99 a month ($90.75 billed annually) with 5 seats, 400GB of traffic and 1 million API requests, and Growth Plus at $349 a month ($319.91 annually) with 15 seats, 1TB and 4 million requests. Who owns Storyblok?

Storyblok GmbH, a private company registered in Linz, Austria. Dominik Angerer, its CEO, and Alexander Feiglstorfer, its CTO, started it in 2017 after working at a digital agency. It is venture-backed: its about page shows Brighton Park Capital among its investors, and its COO's bio says she invested in its Series A for Mubadala Capital. So yes, it's a real, registered company.

Where is Storyblok based?

Storyblok GmbH is registered at Peter-Behrens-Platz 2 in Linz, Austria, according to its legal notice. The company works fully remote: its August 2023 announcement counted 230+ employees across 45+ countries and a US entity from January 2024. In our data Austria is Storyblok's sixth-largest market, with 299 matched companies, behind Germany, the US, the Netherlands, the UK and Sweden.

What are the key differences between Storyblok and Contentful?

Storyblok sells a visual editor with live preview on a headless CMS, and its comparison pages target Contentful, which answers with a page of its own. Our crawl finds Storyblok on 10,631 domains and Contentful on 4,329, but part of that gap is ours: we count Contentful only when a browser calls its API. Since March, 2 domains moved from Contentful to Storyblok, none back.

Storyblok vs Sanity: which way are sites moving?

Toward Sanity, in small numbers. Since we began tracking in March 2026, 15 domains dropped Storyblok and now run Sanity, against 6 that went from Sanity to Storyblok, and 13 of the 15 moved in the last 90 days. Sanity is also the larger base in our crawl, 35,994 domains to Storyblok's 10,631. We count both from their image CDNs, so that comparison is fair.
