Companies Using Mouseflow

I pulled Mouseflow out of our September 2026 crawl expecting a smaller Hotjar. It isn't one. A domain counts here when its pages load Mouseflow's script from cdn.mouseflow.com or create the command queue that script uses. The test is clean. On 32 random live domains, 31 of the 31 pages that loaded ran Mouseflow, and the 32nd was a bot wall. That gives 22,522 live domains, 13,225 of them matched to a company, 7th of 34 in Heatmaps & Session Recording.

Domains, projects and accounts

Mouseflow puts a project id in its script address, so we can count accounts as well as domains. In the 6,655 domains where we could read it, we found 5,535 projects, about 1.2 domains each, and 4,969 of those projects sit on a single domain. The biggest covers 38 domains, a home-care group. No agency or platform is spraying one project across thousands of sites; the largest platform group, ERGO's insurance agents on about 100 subdomains of ergo.de, is ERGO's own choice. Aliases distort more. In a sample of 200 domains, 18% redirected to another Mouseflow domain.

Sales signal: dedupe a Mouseflow list by root domain and redirect target before you count accounts. After that, most rows are one company with one site.

Flat since July

The chart reads 18,781 in June, 21,776 in July, 21,978 in August and 22,522 in September. The June step is our crawl covering more of the web, and the domain set turns over every month as dead sites drop out and new ones come in; the way we detect Mouseflow hasn't changed. Only 11.02% of live domains were first seen in August or September. 4,893 domains dropped Mouseflow since we started tracking it in March 2026, and we can't yet say what share are site closures.

Sales signal: treat Mouseflow as a stable pool of about 22,000 domains. Nothing here supports pitching it internally as a fast-growing segment.

Who the customers are

47.66% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 28.91% have 11 to 50, close to Hotjar and Clarity. Age is where Mouseflow differs. Only 14.36% were founded in the 2020s, against 17.16% for Hotjar and 20.9% for Clarity. There are 364 companies above 1,000 staff, and the named ones are often a single team's site: Motorola Solutions' shop, Booking.com's business-travel pages, Encompass Health's careers site, REWE's sustainability pages. Michelin, Amdocs and Esri run it on their main sites.

Sales signal: at large accounts the buyer is often the owner of one web property, such as recruiting, e-commerce or self-service support. Start with that team.

A German tilt

The United States has 4,841 matched companies and the United Kingdom 1,400. Germany is third with 771, about one for every six American companies. Hotjar's profile shows one German company for roughly every 14 American ones and Clarity's one for every 15. The Netherlands adds 630, Switzerland 241 and Denmark, where Mouseflow is based, 234. Consent managers fit the same picture. OneTrust runs on 5.69% of Mouseflow domains and Cookiebot on 4.57%, against 1.02% and 1.38% on Lucky Orange's. SPX FLOW's site tags its Mouseflow snippet with Cookiebot's analytics-consent attribute, so it only runs after a visitor opts in.

Sales signal: for a consent, privacy or EU-hosting pitch, Mouseflow sites in Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland are a better-qualified list than Clarity's, because the owner already picked a European vendor.

The Clarity question

5,143 Mouseflow domains (22.66%) also load Microsoft Clarity, and 2,476 (10.91%) load Hotjar. If the free tool were pulling sites away, the ones that dropped Mouseflow would carry Clarity more often. They carry it less. Since March, 656 domains that dropped Mouseflow now run Clarity, about 15% of the sites that left it entirely, below the 22.66% of current Mouseflow domains that run it. Hotjar runs slightly the other way: 116 domains dropped Mouseflow and run Hotjar, while 154 dropped Hotjar and kept Mouseflow. About 77% of domains ever seen with either pair still run both.

Sales signal: selling against Mouseflow on price alone is weak, since its customers already chose to pay beside a free tool. Sell a missing capability instead. For Mouseflow's own team, the 862,512 Clarity domains are the obvious prospect list.

The stack around it

Google Analytics runs on 88.17% of Mouseflow domains. WordPress is on 37.90% and Elementor on 11.49%. HubSpot (12.46%), Pardot (2.01%) and Marketo (1.92%) point to lead-generation sites, and Shopify is on only 10.26%, against 64.89% on Lucky Orange's domains. VWO (2.43%) and Convert (1.49%) show a small group running A/B tests next to the recordings.

Sales signal: the typical Mouseflow site is a WordPress marketing site feeding a CRM. HubSpot partners and B2B CRO agencies will find more fit here than Shopify app sellers will.

What it costs

Mouseflow's pricing page (29 September 2026) lists a Free plan of 500 sessions a month. Essential costs $25, Advanced $109 and Premium $319 a month billed annually, for 5,000, 25,000 and 100,000 sessions; month to month, they're $39, $149 and $399. Every plan has unlimited users. Mouseflow says it records every session without sampling, and recording stops when a month's allowance runs out.

Sales signal: session caps make traffic spikes a renewal conversation. Sites that outgrow Essential are the natural upgrade, or churn, candidates.
