Companies Using PostHog

I pulled PostHog out of our October 2026 crawl to answer the two questions people search for most: who runs it, and whether it belongs on an enterprise shortlist. A domain counts here when one of its pages loads PostHog's script from a posthog.com host, exposes the posthog browser object, or sends events to a posthog.com endpoint. That gives 139,813 domains, #1 of the 16 tools we track in Product Analytics with 46.98%, and 75,665 of them matched to a company record (54.1%). Self-hosted installs on a custom domain and fully proxied setups can hide from that test, so read the count as a floor.

Four months on the chart, two causes

The chart reads 80,985 domains in June 2026, 106,563 in July, 119,697 in August, 136,298 in September and 139,813 in October. That's a 72.6% rise in four months, and I wouldn't sell it as adoption. Two things move the line besides installs. The set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and newly found ones coming in, and our detection signals for PostHog have widened. The September to October step added just 3,515 domains (2.6%). Drops are real too: since we began tracking PostHog on 16 March 2026, 34,342 domains have removed it.

Sales signal: a PostHog list is big and still shifting. Re-pull it before each campaign instead of working from last quarter's export, since 34,342 domains have dropped PostHog since March.

Who runs it

The base is small and young. Of the 70,726 matched companies with a known size, 61.99% have 1 to 10 employees and 25.24% have 11 to 50. Of those with a known founding year, 43.23% were founded in the 2020s and 33.93% in the 2010s. Software Development is the top industry at 12.14%, then Technology, Information and Internet at 8.85%. PostHog describes its buyer the same way. Its customers page asks "Who brings PostHog in?" and answers "An engineer, usually." Supabase is one of the companies quoted there (checked 11 October 2026).

Sales signal: pitch this list the way you'd pitch developers. Docs, a free tier and self-serve signup will land better than a discovery call with a five-person team.

The Fortune 500 question

Searchers ask whether there are alternatives to PostHog for a Fortune 500 company. We don't hold a Fortune 500 list, so I used LinkedIn's largest band, 10,001+ employees, as the proxy and compared October 2026 counts for the analytics tools large buyers tend to shortlist.

So yes, there are alternatives, and on this measure Pendo and Mixpanel already reach more very large employers than PostHog does, from much smaller bases. The second finding matters more. When I opened the largest organisations on our PostHog list, many weren't running PostHog themselves. Their vendor was. Eight university course catalogs among the 90 largest candidates, including catalog.arizona.edu and catalog.fiu.edu, are hosted by Coursedog, whose catalog pages load PostHog. Saab's and AtkinsRéalis's brand portals run on the same portal software. Donor portals for TED and the American Heart Association load it, and so do the careers sites of Cardinal Health and TriHealth, which run on the same careers-site platform. Across the whole crawl only 75 live PostHog subdomains carry a catalog, bulletin or calendar name, so these fleets barely move the count but crowd the top of the list.

PostHog does sell upmarket. Its pricing page lists an Enterprise package at $2,000 a month with role-based access control and dedicated support, and a Scale package at $750 a month that adds SAML (checked 11 October 2026).

Sales signal: before you call a 10,001+ employer on a PostHog list, open the detection URL. If it's a catalog, portal or careers page, you're talking to the vendor's customer, not PostHog's.

Germany is the outlier

The United States accounts for 32,173 matched companies, 42.5% of 75,665. Germany is second with 4,460 (5.9%), ahead of the United Kingdom's 4,361. That's unusual in this category: per their October profiles, Germany is 1.3% of Amplitude's matched companies, 1.8% of Mixpanel's and 0.6% of Pendo's. PostHog runs an EU cloud on servers in Frankfurt (PostHog's GDPR docs, checked 11 October 2026), which is a plausible reason, though not one we measured.

Sales signal: for DACH campaigns in analytics or developer tooling, PostHog gives you 4,460 German companies, about ten times the 417 on Amplitude's profile.

Overlap, not migration

We don't publish a switching table for PostHog this month, because none of its corridors passed our still-both test. Domains that ran PostHog and a rival at some point mostly still run both: 1,783 of 2,797 for Amplitude, 1,077 of 1,502 for Mixpanel, 252 of 403 for Pendo and 387 of 602 for FullStory. The one-way counts lean towards PostHog but stay small. Since March 2026, 579 domains dropped Amplitude while running PostHog and 199 dropped PostHog while running Amplitude; for Mixpanel the pair is 192 and 113. With Microsoft Clarity it is 2,735 and 2,375, close to even, on 16,136 domains that run both.

Sales signal: the 1,783 domains running PostHog and Amplitude together have two tools doing overlapping jobs. That's where a vendor on either side can make the case for consolidating.

The stack around PostHog

Percentages here are of the 140,812 live PostHog domains we read stacks for. Google Tag Manager is on 62.73% and Google Analytics on 56.83%, so most PostHog sites keep Google's tools and add PostHog beside them. Cloudflare Browser Insights (16.11%) and Microsoft Clarity (11.45%) follow. Vercel Analytics (8.11%) and OpenAI (4.7%) point to developer-built and AI-product sites. Intercom (4.42%) is the most common support tool, and Segment sits on just 2.11%.

Sales signal: CDP and data-pipeline vendors have open ground. Fewer than 3 in 100 PostHog domains show Segment.

What G2 reviewers say

G2's review summaries rate PostHog highest for ease of use (229 mentions) and easy setup (185). The top complaint is a steep learning curve (115), with initial setup complexity and confusing dashboards at 64 each. Easy to install and slow to master is a common pairing for tools adopted bottom-up, and 61.99% of PostHog's matched companies have ten or fewer staff.

Sales signal: analytics implementation and coaching services have a documented opening, since the learning-curve complaint tops the list of cons.

Targeting strategy: filter PostHog companies with 11 to 200 employees in Software Development or Technology, Information and Internet, then run Germany and the United Kingdom as a second pass.

Competitive angle: start with the 1,783 domains running PostHog and Amplitude together and the 1,077 running PostHog and Mixpanel. Those teams already run two analytics tools for overlapping jobs.
