Companies Using Apollo.io
Apollo.io sells a B2B contact database with prospecting, email sequencing and calling tools on top. Most of that work happens inside Apollo's own app and Chrome extension, where no crawler can see it. The part that shows up on a customer's website is Apollo's website visitor tracker, a script loaded from assets.apollo.io that tells a sales team which companies are browsing. That tracker is what this page counts.
Our live crawl finds it on 28,074 domains, 20,260 of them matched to a company. Apollo says more than 600,000 companies use its product, so treat this as a floor on Apollo.io customers: roughly 3% run the tracker where we can see it. Companies that use Apollo.io on their websites include [24]7.ai, Udacity, Ciklum and Plug Power, and the full list follows below.

Apollo.io Usage Statistics
We began detecting Apollo's tracker on 4 August 2026, so the chart has two points: 19,426 domains in August and 28,074 in September. August is a partial first month, and every domain in the current base was first seen in the last two months (21,224 in August, 6,665 in September), so the rise is our detection filling in, not a jump in Apollo adoption. The set of domains we crawl also turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and newly found ones added. Read September as a baseline; the trend needs a few more months.

Which Countries Use Apollo.io the Most?
Which countries use Apollo.io the most? The United States leads with 9,315 matched companies, 4.7 times the United Kingdom's 1,976. India is third with 1,253, ahead of Canada (1,058) and Australia (570). The Indian names in the list below are mostly software and IT services exporters, such as Ramco, Nucleus Software and Celebal Technologies, the kind of firm that sells into the US and UK.
Share of the 20,260 Apollo.io domains we matched to a company record — 72.2% of the 28,074 we detect. Top 15 countries shown, so these do not sum to 100%. Domains with no matching company record are not represented here and skew small and independent.
Apollo.io Market Share Among Web Analytics
What is Apollo.io's market share? In Web Analytics, where our taxonomy files the tracker, Apollo holds 0.15% and ranks 24th, based on our live crawl at TechnologyChecker.io. That ranking says little about Apollo's business. Google Analytics measures how much traffic a site gets; Apollo's tag tells a sales team which companies that traffic came from. Its real rivals are the visitor-identification tags from ZoomInfo, Leadfeeder and 6sense, which sit in other categories.

Apollo.io Customers by Company Size & Age
What size companies use Apollo.io? Small ones, overwhelmingly. 42.59% of matched companies have 1 to 10 employees and 36.16% have 11 to 50, so 78.75% are under 51 staff, based on the 20,072 matched companies with a known headcount. Only 214 have more than 1,000 employees, and 23 have more than 10,000.

Company Age (Founded Decade)
71.19% of matched companies were founded in 2010 or later: 40.22% in the 2010s and 30.97% in the 2020s. Close to a third founded this decade is a young base, and it fits a product with a free plan and self-serve signup that a new company can adopt before it hires a sales team.
What Industries Use Apollo.io the Most?
Software Development leads at 15.46%, followed by IT Services and IT Consulting at 12.32%. Add Technology, Information and Internet (6.85%) and Information Technology & Services (2.72%) and the tech sector reaches 37.35% of matched companies. Agencies are the second cluster: Advertising Services (7.00%), Marketing Services (4.14%) and Design Services (1.63%) come to 12.77%, based on our enriched company data.
Software companies using Apollo.io, such as Ramco and Azentio, are the largest single group. IT services firms that use Apollo.io, including Ciklum, Intellias and To the New, follow close behind. Marketing agencies using Apollo.io, such as Power Digital Marketing and Intersection, form the third cluster, and staffing firms on Apollo.io add another 2.02%.
Apollo.io Alternatives & Competitors
The chart shows the Web Analytics leaders, Google Analytics first, because that is the category the tracker is filed in. They are not what Apollo competes with. The tags that do the same job are ZoomInfo's WebSights, Leadfeeder, 6sense and Demandbase. We looked for switching between Apollo and each of them and found none worth publishing: between 77% and 92% of the domains that had run both still run both, and every rival is more common on sites that kept Apollo than on sites that dropped it. These tags stack.

Expert Analysis: Apollo.io Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

A disclosure before anything else: TechnologyChecker.io sells B2B company and technology data, which puts us in Apollo.io's neighbourhood. So read this as a data profile from a neighbour, and check the numbers rather than my adjectives. Our September 2026 crawl finds Apollo's website tracker on 28,074 domains, and 20,260 of them match a company record we can describe.
What the count measures, and what it misses
Apollo's core product is a contact database with sequencing and calling on top. A salesperson using it leaves no trace on their employer's website. What we can detect is the optional website tracker, a script from assets.apollo.io that, per Apollo's help centre, sets a first-party cookie and identifies visiting companies, or companies plus U.S.-based contacts if the customer turns that on.
Apollo's homepage says more than 600,000 companies use the product. Our 20,260 matched companies are about 3% of that. I don't read that as a contradiction. Most Apollo customers buy it for outbound and never wire up the inbound side. The signal is clean where it exists: when we loaded the 50 largest detection hosts in a browser, 44 of the 49 that loaded requested the tracker.
Sales Signal: A detection marks a company that has connected its website to its outbound workflow. That is a more committed Apollo user than a lone seat holder with the Chrome extension, and a better target for anything that sits between marketing and sales.
Growth trajectory: too early to call
We began detecting the tracker on 4 August 2026. The chart reads 19,426 domains in August and 28,074 in September, but August is a partial month and every domain in the base was first seen in the last two months, 21,224 in August and 6,665 in September. On top of that, the set of domains we crawl turns over every month. Any growth rate taken from these two points would be a statement about our detection, not about Apollo.
"The honest trend line for Apollo's tracker is two dots. I'd rather publish a clean baseline in September than a growth story that is our own ramp-up in disguise." - Mehmet Suleyman, CEO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales Signal: Don't size a market off this chart yet. From November onward, a domain first seen after our August start is far more likely to be a new install, and that is the timing signal to watch.
Customer profile
This is a small-company base. 78.75% of matched companies have fewer than 51 employees, and 71.19% were founded in 2010 or later, 30.97% in the 2020s alone. Only 214 have more than 1,000 staff. That fits a product with a free plan: a founder or first sales hire can start without procurement.
The larger names are mostly services exporters: R Systems, iSoftStone, Movate, Ciklum, Centific. There are exceptions worth knowing about. Insider Inc. runs the tracker on live.businessinsider.com, Plug Power on its main site, and Hack The Box on its academy subdomain rather than its homepage.
Sales Signal: The buyer here is usually a founder or a head of sales at a sub-50-person tech or services firm, not a revenue operations team. Pitch time saved, not governance.
Industry and geographic concentration
Software Development (15.46%), IT Services and IT Consulting (12.32%), Technology, Information and Internet (6.85%) and Information Technology & Services (2.72%) together make up 37.35% of matched companies. Agencies add 12.77% across advertising, marketing and design services. Half the base sells software, services or campaigns to other businesses.
The United States leads with 9,315 matched companies, 4.7 times the UK's 1,976. India is third with 1,253, ahead of Canada and Australia, and the Indian companies in the list are mostly IT exporters selling into those two markets.
Sales Signal: India is third, ahead of Canada and Australia. A sales-tool vendor that treats it as an afterthought is ignoring 1,253 of the companies on this list.
Why there is no migration table
We checked for switching between Apollo and ZoomInfo, Leadfeeder, 6sense, Warmly, Clearbit, Koala and HubSpot. Every pair failed. Between 77% and 92% of the domains that ran both still run both, and each rival is more common on sites that kept Apollo than on sites that dropped it, the opposite of what a replacement looks like. 2,374 domains have dropped the tracker since August, but 62.4% of those were seen only once, so that figure is mostly detection flicker in a seven-week window.
"Apollo's tracker doesn't displace ZoomInfo or Leadfeeder on the sites we can see. Where two of these tags meet on one site, they usually stay together." - Mehmet Suleyman, CEO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales Signal: A site running Apollo plus another identification tag is paying twice for overlapping data. That is a consolidation conversation, whichever side you sell for.
Technology ecosystem
HubSpot is on 34.47% of Apollo domains and Salesforce on 3.44%, roughly ten to one. Paid social is common: the LinkedIn Insight Tag is on 36.32% and the Facebook Pixel on 33.58%. WordPress leads the website builders at 37.2%, with Webflow at 11.61%. Our HubSpot statistics report covers the other half of that pairing.
Sales Signal: Anything that syncs Apollo with HubSpot is selling into a third of this list. Salesforce-first products will find the tracker base thin.
G2 review signals
Apollo.io scores 4.7 out of 5 from 9,832 G2 reviews. Ease of use leads the praise with 1,587 mentions. Data quality leads the criticism once G2's two labels are combined: 889 mentions across inaccurate data and data inaccuracy, ahead of missing features at 559.
Our data lines up with the praise. A base that is 78.75% under 51 staff has no one to run a hard tool, so ease of use is what keeps it. The accuracy complaint is the price of a large self-serve database, and in a base this small there is rarely an operations person to clean records before they reach a sequence.
Sales Signal: Data verification and enrichment tools have a clear opening in this base. The complaint is public, frequent and specific.
Key takeaways
1. Coverage: 28,074 domains run Apollo's tracker; the 20,260 we match to companies are about 3% of the 600,000+ companies Apollo reports.
2. Growth phase: unknown. Detection began on 4 August 2026, and two readings are not a trend.
3. Core customer: a small software, IT services or agency business, founded after 2010, running HubSpot.
4. Competition: visitor-identification tags stack rather than replace each other.
5. Weak spot: data accuracy, with 889 G2 mentions.
Sales applications
Outreach angle: "You run Apollo's tracker next to HubSpot" is true for a third of this list and shows you checked their site.
Targeting: On TechnologyChecker.io, filter Apollo.io users by 11 to 200 employees and software or IT services. That is the segment with a sales team and the budget to add tools.
Competitive angle: Cross-filter Apollo users against ZoomInfo or Leadfeeder detections to find companies paying for overlapping visitor data.
All counts above come from TechnologyChecker.io's live crawl: 28,074 domains running Apollo.io's tracker, 20,260 matched to company records, refreshed monthly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who uses Apollo.io?
We find Apollo's website tracker on 28,074 domains, including [24]7.ai, Udacity, Ciklum, Plug Power and live.businessinsider.com. The base is mostly small tech companies: software and IT services make up 37.35% of matched companies, and 78.75% have fewer than 51 staff. Apollo users who never install the tracker are not in this count, and that is most of them.
How many customers does Apollo.io have?
Apollo says more than 600,000 companies use its product. We can only see the ones that install its website tracker: 28,074 domains in our September 2026 crawl, 20,260 of them matched to a company, or roughly 3% of Apollo's own figure. The tracker is optional, and the database, sequences and Chrome extension leave no trace on a customer's website.
What is Apollo.io's market share?
In Web Analytics, where our taxonomy files Apollo's tracker, it holds 0.15% and ranks 24th. That is not a useful comparison, because the category is led by traffic analytics tools such as Google Analytics. We do not publish a share of the sales intelligence market: the core Apollo product is invisible from a website, so any domain-based share would undercount it.
What are the best alternatives to Apollo.io?
For the database and outreach side, ZoomInfo is the usual comparison. For website visitor identification, the tags that do the same job are ZoomInfo WebSights, Leadfeeder, 6sense, Demandbase, Warmly and Clearbit. Our data shows these run alongside Apollo rather than replacing it: 6sense sits on 1.17% of Apollo domains and Warmly on 1.23%.
Which countries use Apollo.io the most?
United States leads with 9,315 matched Apollo.io domains, followed by United Kingdom (1,976), India (1,253), Canada (1,058), Australia (570). These are counts within the 20,260 domains we could match to a company record, not the full detected base.
What size companies use Apollo.io?
The most common company size is 1-10 employees, representing 42.59% of the Apollo.io domains we could match to a company record and size — a subset of 20,260 matched companies, not of all 28,074 detected domains. This is followed by 11-50 employees (36.16%) and 51-200 employees (15.22%).
How old are companies that use Apollo.io?
Among the Apollo.io domains we could match to a company with a known founding date, the largest group was founded in the 2010s (40.22%), followed by the 2020s (30.97%). That matched subset is drawn from 20,260 companies and is not representative of all 28,074 detected domains. This suggests Apollo.io is most popular among relatively young companies.
What is the ideal customer profile for Apollo.io?
The ideal Apollo.io customer is: Company Size: 1-10 employees, Location: US, UK, or India, Industry: Software, IT services, agencies, CRM: HubSpot, Founded: 2010-2019 — based on our analysis of 20,260 enriched companies at TechnologyChecker.io.
What is Apollo.io used for?
Apollo.io is used to find and contact B2B buyers. Sales teams search its database, which Apollo puts at 240M+ contacts and 30M+ companies, then send email sequences, make calls and log the results to a CRM. Its website tracker adds inbound signal by showing which companies visit your site. That tracker is the only part we can detect, on 28,074 domains.
Is Apollo.io legitimate?
Yes. Apollo.io is a San Francisco company founded in 2015 by Tim Zheng and Ray Li, and it went through Y Combinator's Winter 2016 batch. On G2 it scores 4.7 out of 5 from 9,832 reviews. The recurring complaint is data quality: G2's two data-accuracy labels add up to 889 mentions, so verify contact details before large outreach runs.
Is Apollo.io an Indian company?
No. Apollo.io is headquartered in San Francisco and was founded there in 2015. India does show up strongly among its users, though: in our tracker data it is the third largest country with 1,253 matched companies, behind the United States (9,315) and the United Kingdom (1,976), led by software and IT services firms.
What is the Apollo.io website tracker?
It is a script an Apollo customer adds to their own site, loaded from assets.apollo.io. According to Apollo's help centre it sets a first-party cookie, and the customer chooses whether to identify visiting companies only or companies plus U.S.-based contacts. The results feed Apollo's website visitor reports, which sales teams use to prioritise outreach.
How can you tell if a website uses Apollo.io?
Open the site with your browser's developer tools and filter the network tab for assets.apollo.io. A request for Apollo's tracker script means the site owner has connected the website to Apollo. It is often added through a tag manager, so it may not appear in the page source. To check many domains at once, look them up on TechnologyChecker.io.
Is Apollo.io the same as Apollo GraphQL?
No. Apollo GraphQL is an open-source data client for web applications, and we track it as a separate JavaScript library. Apollo.io is a sales platform. There is also an unrelated Apollo widget for car dealerships. This page counts only Apollo.io, detected by its tracker script on assets.apollo.io, so none of the other Apollos are in these numbers.
Why does the Apollo.io chart only start in August 2026?
Because that is when we began detecting Apollo's tracker, on 4 August 2026. August is a partial month, so the step from 19,426 to 28,074 domains in September is our detection filling in, not growth. The domains we crawl also change every month as dead sites drop out and new ones are added. Trends will be readable after a few more monthly readings.
What software do Apollo.io customers use alongside it?
HubSpot is the standout: it runs on 34.47% of Apollo.io domains, against 3.44% for Salesforce. The LinkedIn Insight Tag appears on 36.32% and the Facebook Pixel on 33.58%, so most of these companies also pay for social ads. WordPress (37.2%) and Webflow (11.61%) are the most common website platforms.
