Companies Using MonkCommerce
Our October 2026 crawl finds MonkCommerce on 1,761 live domains. What we count is one Shopify app, Monk Free Gift with Purchase: its theme embed loads Monk's storefront script from js.monkcommerce.app, and that script runs the store's free-gift, buy-X-get-Y, cart-tier and cross-sell offers. Below is the list of companies that use MonkCommerce, with size, country, industry and stack. It includes Moroccanoil's Spanish store, Redcon1, Squishable, Ten Thousand Villages and Aloette.
Our catalogue files Monk under Headless Commerce, where it ranks 4th of 15 with 9.57%, but it isn't a storefront framework. It's a cart offer app, and its buyers are small: 57.3% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 staff. When we asked Monk's own storefront API about 473 of these stores on 16 October, 309 had at least one offer live, 148 had the app installed with nothing switched on, and 16 no longer had it installed.

MonkCommerce Usage Statistics
MonkCommerce reads 1,407 domains in August 2026, 1,751 in September and 1,761 in October. The chart starts in August because that's when we began recognising Monk's script. The step into September reflects changes on our side, both the domains we cover and how fully we detect the signal, rather than a wave of installs, and the set of domains we crawl turns over every month as dead sites drop out and new ones come in. October is nearly flat. Since 4 August, 229 domains have dropped Monk on at least one hostname; 29 of them still run it on another, so 200 dropped it outright.

Which Countries Use MonkCommerce the Most?
Which countries use MonkCommerce the most? The United States, with 291 matched companies, then the United Kingdom (55), Germany (52), Australia (37) and Canada (36). Germany is the one to notice. It's almost level with the UK, with one German company for every 5.6 American ones; CartBot's profile shows one for every 7.3, and Germany doesn't make Rebuy's top six at all. France (23) and the Netherlands (20) follow. These counts come from the 666 Monk domains we matched to a company.
Share of the 666 MonkCommerce domains we matched to a company record — 37.8% of the 1,761 we detect. Top 15 countries shown, so these do not sum to 100%. Domains with no matching company record are not represented here and skew small and independent.
MonkCommerce Market Share Among Headless Commerce
What is MonkCommerce's market share? 9.57% of Headless Commerce, 4th of the 15 technologies we track there at TechnologyChecker.io. Read the rank with care. The category groups a Magento theme (Hyva Themes, 6,689 domains), two Shopify page builders (GemCommerce and Shogun Frontend) and Adobe's PWA Studio, and Monk is none of those: it's a Shopify cart offer app. Its like-for-like rivals sit in other categories, and they're bigger. CartBot's profile counts 8,297 domains and Rebuy's 15,024.
Top Competitors by Market Share
MonkCommerce Customers by Company Size & Age
What size companies use MonkCommerce? Small ones. 57.3% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 29.52% have 11 to 50, so 86.82% have 50 staff or fewer. That's between CartBot's 63.21% and Rebuy's 54.34% at the smallest band. Only four companies have more than 500 staff; two of them are Moroccanoil, on its Spanish store, and the cosmetics company Aloette.
Company Size Distribution
Company Age (Founded Decade)
The largest group of matched companies was founded in the 2010s (46.34%), then the 2020s (18.54%) and the 2000s (17.07%). That 2020s share is well under CartBot's 27.15% and close to Rebuy's 19.85%, so Monk's buyers lean a little older than CartBot's. Older names on the list include Candle-lite (founded 1840), Ten Thousand Villages (1946) and the Italian swimwear brand Sundek (1958).
What Industries Use MonkCommerce the Most?
Retail leads at 15.57%, then Retail Apparel and Fashion and Personal Care Product Manufacturing at 10.38% each, and Wellness and Fitness Services (6.06%), based on our enriched company data. Personal care is the outlier. CartBot's profile has it at 6.67%, and with Cosmetics (3.11%) added, beauty makes up 13.49% of Monk's matched companies with a known industry. That fits the product: a sample or a travel size costs a beauty brand little to give away.
Beauty brands using MonkCommerce include Moroccanoil, Christina Cosmeceuticals, Cellcosmet and Aloette. Food and drink companies on MonkCommerce include Alce Nero, Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii and Daco Bello. Supplement brands using MonkCommerce include Redcon1 and Enzymedica, which runs it on its main store and on alias domains that redirect there.
MonkCommerce Alternatives & Competitors
Hyva Themes and GemCommerce lead this table, but neither does Monk's job. Hyva Themes (6,689 domains, 36.37%) and PWA Studio (568) are Magento storefronts, and every Monk domain in our cleaned set runs on Shopify, so they don't meet. GemCommerce (5,737, 31.19%) and Shogun Frontend (2,714, 14.76%) are Shopify page builders that can sit beside Monk: 14 domains run Monk and GemCommerce today, of 17 ever seen with both. For a like-for-like comparison, look at CartBot and Rebuy.

These shares are of the 1,765 live Monk domains in our cleaned set, a slightly different base from the 1,761 headline. Instafeed runs on 20.0% and BOGOS, a rival free-gift app, on 4.42%, so a small group runs two gift tools at once. Lodash and Underscore.js both read 81.19%. Monk's own bundle carries Lodash 4.18.1, the version we found on the Monk stores we loaded, which suggests most of that share is Monk's code. Google Analytics is on 75.81%.

Expert Analysis: MonkCommerce Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

I expected MonkCommerce to be a storefront framework, because that's where our catalogue files it. It's a Shopify app. A domain counts here when its pages load Monk's script from js.monkcommerce.app, and on the stores I fetched, that script came from the theme embed of Monk Free Gift with Purchase, Monk Commerce's free-gift and upsell app. Our October 2026 crawl finds it on 1,761 live domains, 666 of them matched to a company, 4th of 15 in Headless Commerce with 9.57%.
Domains, stores and live offers
Two corrections come before any prospect count. The first is aliases. Where we could read the Shopify store id, 634 domains belonged to 474 stores, about 1.3 domains each, and 32 of 100 randomly sampled domains redirected to another domain. Mahlkönig, the coffee grinder maker, holds 38 domains alone. The second is that an install isn't an offer. Monk's storefront API returns each store's live offers, so I asked it about 473 stores on 16 October. 309 had at least one offer live, 148 had the app installed with nothing switched on, and 16 no longer had it installed. A random sample of 100 domains gave a similar split: 53 of 93 stores live, 37 idle and 3 removed. A closed store, a gambling page on a former store's domain and a blank page were 3 of the 100.
Sales signal: dedupe by store, then split the list. The idle group is the better pitch for a rival or an agency, since those merchants may be paying for an app with nothing running.
Growth: too early to read
The chart reads 1,407 in August, 1,751 in September and 1,761 in October. August is the first month we recognised Monk's script, so there's no earlier line. The step into September reflects changes on our side, both the domains we cover and how fully we detect the signal, rather than a wave of installs, and the crawled domain set turns over every month as dead sites drop out and new ones are added. Since 4 August, 229 domains have dropped Monk on at least one hostname. 29 still run it on another, so 200 dropped it outright.
"About two in three Monk stores we checked had an offer running. The rest had the app installed and nothing switched on, and that idle group is the most useful part of the list." - Emma Davies, Data Analyst at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: at 1.3 domains per store, 1,761 domains is roughly 1,300 stores. Treat it as a niche list. The chart is too short to call a trend.
Who the customers are
57.3% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 29.52% have 11 to 50. Only four have more than 500 staff. That puts Monk between CartBot (63.21% at 1 to 10) and Rebuy (54.34%). By age, 46.34% were founded in the 2010s and 18.54% in the 2020s, against 27.15% in the 2020s for CartBot. These are established small brands more than new launches: Candle-lite, Ten Thousand Villages, Sundek and Alce Nero sit beside Squishable and Redcon1. Monk's own site quotes four merchants by name, and two of them, Ollie Studio and The Hotel Sheet, are in our count with Monk's embed on the page.
Sales signal: the buyer is the founder or e-commerce lead of a brand with 50 or fewer staff. Pitch average order value.
Beauty, and a German tilt
Retail leads at 15.57%, then Retail Apparel and Fashion and Personal Care Product Manufacturing at 10.38% each. Personal care is the outlier: CartBot's profile has it at 6.67%. Samples and travel sizes cost a beauty brand little to give away, which suits a gift-with-purchase app. The country mix is odd too. The United States has 291 matched companies, the United Kingdom 55 and Germany 52, one German company for every 5.6 American ones. CartBot's ratio is one for every 7.3, and Germany doesn't make Rebuy's top six, which ends at the Netherlands with 90. Monk's listing is in English only, though the app's widget text can be translated.
Sales signal: German, French and Dutch Monk stores (52, 23 and 20 matched companies) are a short, specific list for anyone selling localisation, EU payments or German-language conversion work.
Switching: no corridor yet
We have no published switching rows for Monk. The history is short, and the overlaps we can see are two tools on one store. 14 domains run Monk and GemCommerce today, of 17 ever seen with both, because a page builder and a cart offer app do different jobs. BOGOS, a rival free-gift app, is on 4.42% of Monk domains, so some merchants run two gift tools at once. The 16 stores that removed Monk after our last crawl are the nearest thing to churn we can name.
"Monk sits in a category with Magento themes and page builders, but it doesn't compete with them. Its overlap with GemCommerce is 14 domains, and those stores use both." - Emma Davies, Data Analyst at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: for a rival gift app, the stores running BOGOS and Monk together are the consolidation pitch. For Monk itself, the idle installs (148 of the 473 stores we checked) are a reactivation list before Black Friday.
The stack around it
Shopify is on all 1,765 domains in our cleaned set, the base for the shares here. Instafeed is on 20.0%, Show Recent Orders on 6.69% and BOGOS on 4.42%. Lodash and Underscore.js both read 81.19%, which looks odd for Shopify stores until you open Monk's bundle: it carries Lodash 4.18.1, the same version the page reported on the Monk stores I loaded. Google Analytics is on 75.81% and Elevar on 2.21%. Page builders are rare, with Shogun Page Builder at 2.72% and PageFly at 2.44%.
Sales signal: these stores already add conversion apps beside Monk, Instafeed on one in five. A seller of reviews, loyalty or bundles has a warm audience here; a page-builder seller has a cold one.
Ratings and pricing
Monk's Shopify listing showed 4.9 from 600 reviews and the Built for Shopify badge when I checked on 16 October 2026, and Shopify's review summary credits fast support and complex automatic gift rules. Its pricing page charges by order volume: $49 a month up to 1,000 orders and $149 above that, every feature on both plans, a 7-day trial and a $1 first month as its Black Friday 2026 offer. Our live-offer test adds what the rating can't: two in three stores keep an offer running.
Sales signal: a $49 floor is a considered spend for a 1 to 10 person brand, and a store that passes 1,000 orders a month roughly triples its bill. That's when a competitor's call is most likely to land.
Key takeaways
1. 1,761 live domains, about 1.3 per store, 4th of 15 in a category it doesn't belong to.
2. 309 of 473 stores we checked had an offer live, and 148 had none.
3. Small, established brands: 57.3% have 1 to 10 staff and 46.34% were founded in the 2010s.
4. Beauty-heavy, with Personal Care Product Manufacturing at 10.38%, and more German companies per American one than CartBot.
5. Its real rivals are CartBot, BOGOS and Rebuy, not Hyva Themes or GemCommerce.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who uses MonkCommerce?
Mostly small Shopify brands in beauty, fashion, food and supplements. Our October 2026 crawl finds MonkCommerce on 1,761 live domains, and 57.3% of matched companies with a known size have 10 or fewer staff. Named users include Moroccanoil on its Spanish store, Redcon1, Squishable, Ten Thousand Villages and KAA Gent's club webshop. Every Monk domain in our cleaned set runs on Shopify.
How many customers does MonkCommerce have?
Our October 2026 crawl finds MonkCommerce on 1,761 live domains, 666 of them matched to a company. Domains overstate stores: where we could read the Shopify store id, 634 domains belonged to 474 stores. Not every install is in use, either. Of 473 stores Monk's API answered for on 16 October, 309 had an offer live. 229 domains have dropped it since 4 August.
What is MonkCommerce's market share?
9.57% of Headless Commerce, 4th of the 15 technologies we track there, on 1,761 domains. That rank says little about Monk's real market, because the category puts it beside a Magento theme, Shopify page builders and Adobe's PWA Studio. Monk is a Shopify cart offer app. Next to its real rivals it's smaller: CartBot's profile counts 8,297 domains and Rebuy's 15,024.
What are the best alternatives to MonkCommerce?
For free gifts with purchase, CartBot is the closest match, and BOGOS already runs beside Monk on 4.42% of its domains. For broader upsell and cart widgets, Rebuy is larger, on 15,024 domains in its October 2026 profile. The tools in Monk's own category table, such as Hyva Themes and GemCommerce, aren't alternatives. They're storefront themes and page builders.
Which countries use MonkCommerce the most?
The United States, with 291 matched companies, then the United Kingdom (55), Germany (52), Australia (37) and Canada (36). Germany stands out: Monk has one German company for every 5.6 American ones, against one for every 7.3 on CartBot's profile. France (23), the Netherlands (20) and Italy (19) follow. These counts come from the 666 Monk domains we matched to a company.
What size companies use MonkCommerce?
Mostly small ones. 57.3% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 29.52% have 11 to 50, so 86.82% have 50 or fewer. Only four have more than 500 staff, including Moroccanoil and Aloette. CartBot's profile is a little more micro, with 63.21% at 1 to 10, and Rebuy's a little less, at 54.34%.
How old are companies that use MonkCommerce?
Among matched companies with a known founding year, 46.34% were founded in the 2010s, 18.54% in the 2020s and 17.07% in the 2000s. That 2020s share is lower than CartBot's 27.15%, so Monk's buyers lean slightly older. Is MonkCommerce a headless commerce platform?
No. Our catalogue files it under Headless Commerce, but Monk Commerce makes Shopify apps, and the script we count belongs to its free-gift and upsell app. It runs inside an ordinary Shopify theme: Shopify is on 100% of the 1,765 domains in our cleaned set. The category's leaders are different products again, a Magento theme (Hyva Themes) and Shopify page builders.
Does every store with Monk's script run an offer?
No. On 16 October 2026 we asked Monk's storefront API about 473 stores from our count. 309 had at least one live offer, 148 had the app installed with nothing switched on, and 16 were no longer known to Monk, so the app came off after our last crawl. A random sample of 100 domains gave a similar split: 53 of 93 stores live, 37 idle.
Who makes MonkCommerce and where is it based?
The app is published on the Shopify App Store by Monk Commerce, which lists two other apps there, Wishlist Monk and Upro B2B Credit Limit. The listing gives the developer's address as Aranem Tech Solutions LLC-FZ in Dubai and says Monk Free Gift with Purchase launched on 5 July 2021. We checked the listing on 16 October 2026.
Can MonkCommerce and GemPages run on the same store?
