Companies Using Sitecore Experience Edge

I run the crawler that renders pages and records where their images come from, and Sitecore Experience Edge is a small row with a big customer behind each domain. Our October 2026 crawl counts 3,738 domains loading images from edge.sitecorecloud.io, 8th of 12 in Caching with 0.13%, and 2,237 matched to a company. On 16 October 2026 I fetched 3,707 hostnames from the clean list of 3,721 domains and read the Edge tenant name in each image address where the page let me.

What the signal is

Sitecore's documentation describes Experience Edge as a GraphQL content service delivered through a CDN and hosted by Sitecore, the publishing target of XM, SitecoreAI, Content Hub and Content Hub ONE. Media URLs follow the pattern edge.sitecorecloud.io/<name>/media/.... So a domain here is a site showing images Sitecore published to Edge. It doesn't say which Sitecore product did the publishing. It does catch headless builds that our CMS rule can miss, because the images point at Edge even when nothing else on the page names Sitecore.

Sales signal: nearly every domain on this list traces back to a Sitecore customer with a headless setup. That's a qualified, expensive stack.

The fleets behind the domains

1,963 hostnames let me read the tenant, and between them they used 209 tenant names. Rotary International's tenant alone covered 297 club and district sites, and text matching finds 358 Rotary domains (9.62%) in all. Acrisure's agency sites are at least 295 (7.93%). 187 Porsche dealer domains (5.03%) forward to dealer.porsche.com, Porsche's central dealer platform. Then General Mills' brand sites (78), GROWMARK's FS cooperatives (61), QIAGEN (56), NürnbergMesse's trade-fair sites (56), Grünenthal (55), Erie Insurance agents (52) and Sodexo (48). The ten largest hold 1,246 domains, 33.49% of the clean list. Below them sit Cordish's entertainment venues, Kennards Hire's branch brands, Bell Bank and BDR Thermea, each with about 30 domains on one tenant.

Sales signal: treat each fleet as one account with one web team. A pitch to a Porsche dealer goes to Porsche.

How much of it is live

Our title census finds only 26 domains (0.70%) whose last crawled page was an error or placeholder. In a random 400 I re-requested, 8 didn't answer and 6 returned an HTTP error or placeholder; 162 sat behind Cloudflare or Vercel bot checks that blocked automated requests, which is normal for enterprise sites. The monthly count went from 2,496 in June to 3,738 in October, partly because the domains we crawl turn over every month and our detection widens. 496 domains dropped it on a hostname since 16 March 2026, and 20 still load it on another.

Sales signal: this list is clean and current; the work is collapsing fleets into accounts.

Who the buyers are

The size chart says 39.55% have 1 to 10 staff, which is the fleets talking: each Rotary club or Acrisure agency matches its own small record. The buyers are large. 235 matched companies have more than 1,000 staff, and 24.72% were founded before 1960. Insurance is 22.09%, health care 8.30%. On main domains I confirmed Sodexo, General Mills, Sutter Health, Baylor Scott & White, UCSF Health, Linklaters, A&O Shearman, DLA Piper, Kroll and Love's Travel Stops.

Sales signal: insurers and US health systems are the core. Both buy through procurement, with Sitecore partners and digital agencies in the room.

Where they are

The US has 1,281 of the 2,237 matched companies, Canada 197, the UK 144 and Australia 107. Germany, at 87, is the largest continental European country, partly NürnbergMesse and Grünenthal. Two of the fleets are almost entirely American: Acrisure's agencies and the Erie Insurance, American Family and Westfield agent networks. Michigan State University runs 47 department sites across two tenants, and Mirvac and CIMIC put Australian shopping-centre and construction brands on theirs.

Sales signal: North America is about two thirds of the matched base. Outside it, the accounts are a short list of multinationals you can name one by one.

The stack around it

Across 3,721 clean domains, Next.js shows on 80.57%. Cloudflare fronts 42.52%, and in my random 400, 153 answered with Vercel's headers and 36 with Netlify's. Sitecore's own CMS signals show on 37.84%; the rest load Edge images without the cookies or paths our Sitecore rule reads, which is what a fully headless front end looks like.

Sales signal: Next.js hosting, front-end monitoring and image tooling sell into this list. So does Sitecore implementation work, through the agencies that build these sites.

Overlap with caching tools

We don't publish switching rows for this page, and overlap with the other Caching rows is tiny: 13 domains run Experience Edge and Varnish today, 9 WP Rocket and 4 LiteSpeed Cache.

Sales signal: if you sell a CMS, these are Sitecore accounts mid-way through a headless rebuild, the moment platforms get compared.

What it costs and who owns it

Sitecore announced SitecoreAI on 4 November 2025, calling it "the evolution of XM Cloud" in its press release. Experience Edge comes as part of those products; I found no standalone price, and Sitecore's old Experience Edge product page now returns a 404.
