Companies Using Validity
Validity sells email deliverability software, and most of the records we detect belong to its Sender Certification program. To prove a sender owns the domains it mails from, Validity has it publish a TXT record, usually Validity-Domain-Verification followed by a code, and its requirements say the record must stay in DNS for as long as the sender is a member. Our October 2026 crawl finds 1,195 domains carrying it. Below is the list of companies that use Validity, with size, country and industry, including Ulta Beauty, the BBC, Arm, Freshfields and Florida Power & Light.
Read the count as a ceiling on certified senders: the record shows a domain was verified for a Validity account, and nothing removes it automatically when membership ends. 1,162 of the 1,195 still carried it on 15 October 2026. We left out 327 domains whose code belongs to another company's account, most of them a publishing platform's. Validity is 11th of 12 in Email Security with 0.16%, but that table ranks inbound mail filters, and this is an outbound sender program.

Validity Usage Statistics
One reading: 1,195 domains in October 2026. The chart starts there because our earlier monthly totals still included the 327 domains we removed, whose Validity code belongs to another company's account (see How We Counted below). A longer series would also mix two effects: the set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites out and new ones in, and our detection widens over time. Since tracking began on 17 March 2026, 22 domains dropped the record; 3 of them still carry it on another hostname.

Which Countries Use Validity the Most?
Which countries use Validity the most? The United States, with 295 of the 735 companies we matched, then the United Kingdom (124), Australia (63) and Spain (45). Spain's figure is mostly one operator: 26 of its 45 belong to one family of Spanish online schools. Without them Spain would rank behind Brazil (31), Germany (25) and France (22). Australia's 63 include Chemist Warehouse and Origin Energy.
Share of the 735 Validity domains we matched to a company record — 61.5% of the 1,195 we detect. Top 15 countries shown, so these do not sum to 100%. Domains with no matching company record are not represented here and skew small and independent.
Validity Market Share Among Email Security
What is Validity's market share? 0.16% of Email Security, 11th of the 12 technologies we track there, on 1,195 domains, based on our crawl at TechnologyChecker.io. The ranking isn't like for like. Every other row in that table is read from MX records and counts inbound filters, such as Mimecast (72,817 domains) and Proofpoint (56,902). Validity's record is about outbound mail: it marks a sender that verified its domains for Validity's certification allowlist.
Top Competitors by Market Share
Validity Customers by Company Size & Age
What size companies use Validity? Every size. 21.91% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 staff, 22.62% have 11 to 50 and 20.48% have 51 to 200, but 107 companies (15.22%) employ more than 1,000 people, among them Ascension, Ulta Beauty, the BBC and American Family Insurance. Certification audits a sender's own IP addresses, and Validity requires that the business is the only one sending over them for at least 60 days, so companies with their own sending set-up are the natural buyers.
Company Size Distribution
Company Age (Founded Decade)
60.34% of matched companies were founded between 2000 and 2019, the 2010s (32.99%) ahead of the 2000s (27.35%). The old end is long, though: 8.14% predate 1960, including Freshfields (1743), Unum (1848), FamilySearch (1894), the BBC (1922) and Florida Power & Light (1925). Only 7.1% were founded in the 2020s, which fits a program built for senders with years of mailing behind them.
What Industries Use Validity the Most?
Retail leads at 11.98%, then financial services (5.24%), software development (4.64%) and e-learning providers (3.74%), based on our enriched company data. The e-learning row leans on one group: 13 of its 25 companies are the Spanish online schools. Consumer services (2.69%), hospitality (2.54%) and retail apparel (2.4%) add to the weight of consumer brands, the businesses that mail customers in volume.
Retailers using Validity include Ulta Beauty, Next, Floor & Decor, Alo Yoga and La Vie en Rose, all heavy senders of promotional email. Insurance and financial services companies on Validity include Empower, Unum and American Family Insurance, and health care organisations using Validity include Ascension, Corewell Health and the blood-donation nonprofit Vitalant.
Validity Alternatives & Competitors
None of these rows is a like-for-like rival. Mimecast (72,817 domains), Proofpoint (56,902), Sophos (49,072) and Cisco Email Security (11,215) are inbound gateways read from MX records: they filter mail coming in, and Validity certifies mail going out. The two often sit side by side. 98 Validity domains have Proofpoint as their inbound gateway today. Validity's real competitors are other deliverability tools, which this category doesn't track.

How We Counted Validity Customers
A domain counts here when its DNS holds a TXT record starting with "validity-". On the domains in this count, 975 carry the usual form, Validity-Domain-Verification followed by a code; smaller groups use Validity-Domain-Authentication (64) or validity-domain-monitoring (59). Validity's Sender Certification requirements (April 2024) explain it: to verify domain ownership a sender may have to add "a TXT record containing a unique character code provided by Validity", and the record must remain "for the duration of your membership in the Certification program". We count domains verified for a Validity account; the main form is the certification record, so read the total as a ceiling on current certified senders.
The code identifies the account. Domains that share one belong to the same Validity customer: every Ancestry site and every Entain site carries its company's single code. That let us find accounts sitting on unrelated companies. Our October 2026 crawl found the record on 1,543 live domains; our for-sale and gambling-title filter removed 21, and we then removed 327 whose code belongs to an account spread across companies with no common owner. 207 carry the code of Mirabel Technologies, a platform that runs email for local publishers and magazines; 102 of the 208 domains with that code authorise Mirabel's or Magazine Manager's mail servers in SPF (theacorn.com, santansun.com and pdxparent.com, for example). Another 77 share one code across more than 15 unrelated groups, among them Key Media, Cambridge Healthtech Institute, Despegar, Ticketek, Wowcher and bet365. 20 are independent optometry practices carrying a code that also sits on EssilorLuxottica brands, and two mixed codes cover 14 and 9 more (Jet2, Decathlon US and BullionVault on one; Accessorize, Chico's and GFL Environmental on the other). We kept 5 domains that also carry a code of their own.
Every chart and table on this page uses the remaining 1,195; our earlier monthly totals included the removed domains, so the usage chart starts in October. The record is current: on 15 October 2026, 1,162 of the 1,195 still carried it, and in a random sample of 50 drawn before the cut, 48 did. Large one-operator families stay in, because each is a real Validity customer, but they make the domain count run ahead of the company count: 44 are Spanish online schools, 30 belong to Entain, 13 to Ancestry and 6 to Validity itself, and eight more families have 9 to 21 domains each. One more code covers 52 survey-panel and adult-dating sites; we haven't confirmed a common owner, so that code may be a mixed account like the ones we removed.
Expert Analysis: Validity Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

Most DNS verification records tell you a company tried something once. Validity's is stricter. It belongs to Sender Certification, Validity's email allowlist, and the program's requirements say the TXT record must stay "for the duration of your membership in the Certification program". Our October 2026 crawl finds 1,195 domains carrying it, 735 of them matched to a company. I read the list from the sales side, and the first question turned out to be whose account each record belongs to.
What the record proves
Certification is an audit of a sender's mail program. Validity checks that the business alone sends over its dedicated IPs, that SPF, DKIM and DMARC are in place, and that it handles consent and bounces, then puts the IPs on an allowlist it shares with mailbox providers. The TXT record is the domain-ownership step: a code from Validity, published on every domain the sender mails from. So a domain on this list is one that a certified, or once-certified, sender declared as its own.
Sales signal: these companies have already passed a deliverability audit. They have email teams, they care about inbox placement, and they buy tools to protect it.
One account, many domains
The code is per account, and that changes the count. All of Ancestry's sites share one code, as do Entain's. The 1,162 domains still carrying the record use 568 codes, and 383 codes appear on a single domain. The biggest families are Spanish online schools (44), Entain's betting brands (30), a home-services franchisor (21) and an events company (20). One code also sits on 52 survey-panel and adult-dating sites with no common owner we have confirmed, so it may be a mixed account like the ones we removed. The same mechanism let us remove 327 domains where one account sits on unrelated companies: 207 local publishers carry the code of Mirabel Technologies, a publishing platform, rather than their own.
Sales signal: count accounts, not domains. One Validity code is one buying decision, even when it covers 30 brand sites.
A single reading, and a current one
The usage chart has one point because our earlier monthly totals still included the 327 removed domains. Over a longer run the domains we crawl turn over every month, dead sites out and new ones in, and our detection widens, so I wouldn't read movement from a short series anyway. What I can say is that the record is current: on 15 October 2026, 1,162 of the 1,195 (97.24%) still carried it. Only 22 domains dropped it since we began tracking on 17 March 2026, and 3 of those still have it on another hostname.
"A Validity record is one of the few DNS entries that names an account. Read the code, not the domain, and 1,162 live domains become 568 senders." - Sophie Clarke, Product Marketing Manager at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: treat the list as active members plus a thin layer of lapsed ones. Very few domains remove the record each month.
Big senders, every size
Company size spreads wide, with a heavy top end. 107 matched companies (15.22%) employ more than 1,000 people, against 21.91% with 1 to 10 staff. The large names are consumer brands and institutions that mail millions of customers: Ulta Beauty, Next, Floor & Decor, Ascension, Corewell Health, American Family Insurance, Unum, Empower, the BBC and Freshfields. Age skews established: 60.34% were founded between 2000 and 2019, and 8.14% before 1960. The small companies are often single brands inside larger groups, which is how the per-account codes read.
Sales signal: email, CRM and data vendors should treat this as a list of mature email programs with budget.
Where they are
The United States has 295 matched companies, the United Kingdom 124 and Australia 63. Spain is fourth with 45, but 26 of those are the Spanish online schools, so Spain is one customer more than a market. Retail leads the industries at 11.98%, then financial services (5.24%) and software development (4.64%). English-speaking countries hold 510 of the 735 matched companies.
Sales signal: US and UK consumer retail is the core. Outside it, check for one operator behind a country's numbers before you build a territory plan.
Proofpoint at the front door
The switching table on this page is empty, and it should be: a certification record and an inbound filter don't replace each other. What we do see is overlap. 98 Validity domains run Proofpoint as their inbound gateway today, out of 102 that have ever shown both. These are large senders protecting their own inboxes with an enterprise gateway while certifying their outbound mail.
"On these domains Proofpoint filters what the company receives and Validity certifies what it sends. Big email programs pay for both." - Sophie Clarke, Product Marketing Manager at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: a Validity domain with an enterprise inbound gateway is a security-mature email buyer. That pairing is a better qualifier than industry.
What they send with
The sending stack is visible in DNS. Amazon SES is on 14.98% of the 1,195 domains and SendGrid on 11.72%, with Klaviyo at 6.53% and Mailchimp at 6.36%. Mailboxes split between Microsoft 365 (26.11%) and Google Workspace (23.43%). On the web, Google Analytics runs on 73.72%, and Adobe Analytics (6.03%) and Adobe Experience Manager (4.27%) mark the enterprise end. Our guide to DMARC adoption covers the authentication side these senders have to pass.
Sales signal: a company on SES or SendGrid that also pays for certification runs its own sending infrastructure. Pitch to the email operations team.
What Validity says, and what we see
Validity's Sender Certification page calls it "the exclusive email allowlist" and cites relationships with 75+ global mailbox and security providers. The product now sits inside Validity Engage, alongside inbox placement testing, email creation and testing and contact data quality, and the old Everest address leads to Engage's deliverability page. Validity publishes no prices. Its requirements tie the number of IPs an account can certify to its contracted annual sending volume, which fits the large senders we see.
Sales signal: Validity sells to email programs big enough to negotiate a volume contract. Its customers are good prospects for anything that improves or measures email at scale.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who uses Validity?
Brands that send a lot of email and want to reach the inbox. Our crawl finds a Validity domain record, mostly the Sender Certification verification record, on 1,195 domains, including Ulta Beauty, the BBC, Arm, Freshfields, Ascension and Florida Power & Light. Retail is the largest industry at 11.98% of matched companies, and 107 of them employ more than 1,000 people. The record marks verified senders, a ceiling on current members.
How many customers does Validity have?
Our October 2026 crawl finds a Validity domain record on 1,195 domains, and we matched 735 of them to a company. The 1,162 domains that still carried it on 15 October use 568 different Validity codes, and a code belongs to one account, so the number of certified senders is closer to 568 than 1,195. It is also a ceiling: the record stays in DNS after a membership ends, though 1,162 domains still had it in October.
What is Validity's market share?
We count 0.16% of Email Security, 11th of the 12 technologies we track there, on 1,195 domains. That ranking isn't like for like. The other rows, such as Mimecast (72,817 domains) and Proofpoint (56,902), are inbound filters read from MX records. Validity's record marks an outbound sender verified for its certification allowlist, so it doesn't compete with them for the same slot.
What are the best alternatives to Validity?
For certification itself there is no close equivalent in our data. For deliverability monitoring, many senders start with the mailbox providers' free dashboards, such as Google Postmaster Tools, which Validity's own community explains how to connect. Inbound gateways such as Mimecast and Proofpoint solve a different problem: 98 Validity domains already use Proofpoint for incoming mail.
Which countries use Validity the most?
The United States leads with 295 of the 735 companies we matched, followed by the United Kingdom (124), Australia (63), Spain (45) and Brazil (31). Spain's number is mostly one operator: 26 of the 45 belong to one family of Spanish online schools. Germany (25) and France (22) follow, and English-speaking countries hold 510 of the matched companies.
What size companies use Validity?
Every size. 21.91% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 staff, 22.62% have 11 to 50 and 20.48% have 51 to 200. At the top, 107 companies (15.22%) employ more than 1,000 people, including Ascension, Ulta Beauty and the BBC. Certification audits a sender's own IP addresses, so the buyer is usually a company with its own sending set-up.
How old are companies that use Validity?
Among the Validity domains we could match to a company with a known founding date, the largest group was founded in the 2010s (32.99%), followed by the 2000s (27.35%). That matched subset is drawn from 735 companies and is not representative of all 1,195 detected domains. This suggests Validity is most popular among relatively young companies.
What is the ideal customer profile for Validity?
The ideal Validity customer is: Company Size: Any size; 15.22% have 1,000+ staff, Location: US, then UK, Australia and Spain, Founded: 2000-2019 (60.34%), Industry: Retail, financial services, software, Signal: High-volume sender with its own sending IPs — based on our analysis of 735 enriched companies at TechnologyChecker.io.
What kind of company is Validity?
An email software company. Its main product, Validity Engage, covers inbox placement and deliverability, email creation and testing, live email monitoring, competitor intelligence, contact data quality and Sender Certification, according to validity.com. It also sells DemandTools, which cleans Salesforce data. Return Path's certification program is now part of Validity's Sender Certification.
What is Validity Sender Certification?
An email allowlist. Validity says certified senders get preferential treatment from mailbox providers, exclusive data feeds and 24/7 monitoring, backed by relationships with 75+ mailbox and security providers. To join, a sender passes an audit of its IPs, authentication, consent and list hygiene. Our crawl finds the program's domain record on 1,195 domains.
How much does Validity cost?
Validity doesn't publish prices. Its Pricing & Packaging page offers "enterprise pricing, built to fit" with no figures, and sells Sender Certification as an upgrade on top of Validity Engage (checked October 2026). The Certification requirements show how a contract is sized: the number of IP addresses an account can certify depends on its contracted annual sending volume. Expect a quote based on volume.
How do I certify my email?
With Validity, you subscribe to Sender Certification, answer its questionnaire and pass the audit in its requirements: dedicated IPs used only by you for at least 60 days, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, consent and list hygiene. You may also add a TXT record with a Validity code to prove you own your sending domains. Eligible programs can get up to 60 days of preliminary status.
What does Validity Everest do?
Everest was Validity's deliverability platform, and validity.com/everest now leads to the Inbox Placement and Deliverability page of Validity Engage. That page lists real-time placement testing across mailbox providers, Sender Score reputation monitoring, authentication and blocklist monitoring, and a pre-send deliverability check. Our crawl doesn't see Everest itself, only the certification record on 1,195 domains.
What is the Validity-Domain-Verification TXT record?
It proves a sender owns a domain for Validity's Sender Certification program. Validity gives each account a code; the sender publishes it as a TXT record, and Validity's requirements say it must stay for the length of the membership. Domains sharing a code belong to one account: all of Entain's betting sites carry the same one. We found it on 1,195 domains.
Is Validity the same as Return Path?
Return Path is part of Validity now. validity.com, returnpath.com, returnpath.net and briteverify.com all carry the same Validity code in DNS, which means one account, and Validity's certification guide still says certified senders receive mailbox-provider data from Return Path. The program many senders knew as Return Path Certification is Validity's Sender Certification.
