Companies Using Zoho Mail

One question drove my analysis of Zoho Mail for TechnologyChecker.io: of all the domains that carry a Zoho record in DNS, how many receive their mail at Zoho? On 29 September 2026 we queried the MX record for each of the 497,039 live domains our crawl ties to Zoho. 362,108 deliver to a Zoho mail server first, and 192,320 of those match a company record (53.1%). Everything below runs on the 362,108.

A Zoho record isn't a Zoho inbox

Zoho's help pages tell Zoho CRM, Recruit and Backstage users to add a Zoho entry to their SPF record so those apps can send email in the business's name. That entry stays whether or not anyone reads mail in Zoho, so a raw count of domains with Zoho in DNS mixes inboxes with senders.

The MX record separates them. 110,913 domains carry a Zoho TXT or SPF entry while their mail goes elsewhere, 40,738 of them to Google and 39,706 to Microsoft. Another 6,412 keep Zoho only as a backup. The chart shows a single point for the same reason: our earlier monthly totals counted the sending record, not the inbox. And the 11.32% of today's domains first seen in August or September came from our crawl turning over and our detection widening.

Sales Signal: Use the MX-verified list for anything that plugs into Zoho Mail. Keep the 110,913 SPF-only domains on their own list. They have a Zoho sending or verification record and another mail host, so a Zoho Workplace pitch fits them better than a Zoho Mail add-on.

Customer profile

This is a small-business mail host. Of 182,692 matched companies with a known size, 68.35% have 1 to 10 employees and 22.41% have 11 to 50, so nine in ten have 50 staff or fewer. That sits between Google Workspace (70.51% at 1 to 10 on its profile) and Microsoft 365 (58.97%), and a long way from Fastmail's 87.42%.

828 matched companies employ more than 1,000 people, and at that size the Zoho domain is often a side domain. colgatepalmolive.com delivers to Zoho while Colgate-Palmolive's colpal.com goes to Google. toyotabharat.com is on Zoho, toyota-kirloskar.co.in on Proofpoint and Microsoft. Zoho's own customer page points at a base we can't fully see: it says NIC, the Indian government's technology arm, chose Zoho Workplace for more than 11 lakh (1.1 million) officials. Those mailboxes mostly sit outside our count, because gov.in and nic.in deliver to NIC's own mgovcloud.in servers rather than to a zoho.* name. FYERS, another company on that page, does show up: fyers.in delivers to zoho.in.

Sales Signal: Sell to the owner. A 1 to 10 person firm that put Zoho Mail on its own domain made that call itself, and with Mail Lite at $1 per user per month, cost was probably part of it. Pitch things that are cheap and quick to switch on.

Industry and geographic concentration

The largest industry, IT Services and IT Consulting, is only 8.04%. The country table is where Zoho looks different. The United States has 36,895 matched companies and India 34,572. On our Google Workspace profile the same two countries read 1,061,896 and 149,447, about seven to one. Brazil (15,406) is third here, and Nigeria (4,695), the UAE (4,538), Egypt (2,244) and Kenya (1,737) all make the top 15. The mail servers tell the same story: 75.9% of these domains deliver to zoho.com, 10.5% to zoho.eu and 10.4% to zoho.in, Zoho's Indian data centre. Zoho is a Chennai company, and it shows.

Sales Signal: Treat India and the US as two segments of about equal size, with Nigeria, the UAE and Kenya as a third. A product priced and billed in rupees reaches a part of this base that dollar-only tools miss.

Where new Zoho Mail domains come from

Two corridors pass our switching tests. Since we began tracking in March 2026, 336 domains moved their mail from Yandex Mail to Zoho (259 of them in the last 90 days), and only 6 went the other way. Of the 402 domains that ever showed both, about 57 would have dropped Yandex anyway at the rate Yandex loses domains across our crawl. 59 of the 336 are Turkish .tr domains. From Titan Email the count is 199, against 63 going back, where the base rate predicts about 13. None of these movers has a Yandex or Titan server left in its MX record, and the moves are spread from June to September rather than bunched on one day.

The big suites are a different story. 1,595 domains moved from Google Workspace to Zoho and 1,101 went back; 965 came from Microsoft 365 and 1,393 went the other way. Traffic runs both ways, so neither is a switch we can publish. If you're weighing Zoho against Google, expect domains to cross in both directions.

Sales Signal: The freshest movers are the best leads: 89 domains left Yandex for Zoho and 69 left Titan in the last 30 days. A business that just moved its mail is setting things up again and may want signatures, archiving or migration help.

Technology ecosystem

Google Analytics runs on 43.18% of these domains and WordPress on 25.82%, with Elementor on 11.85%. GoDaddy hosts 17.37% of the websites and Hostinger 7.57%. Zoho SalesIQ, Zoho's own chat widget, shows up on 1.71%, behind WhatsApp chat buttons (6.58%). For sending, Mailgun (1.43%) and Amazon SES (1.36%) appear on these domains, the services developers wire into an app for receipts and password resets. Sales Signal: Don't assume a Zoho Mail domain runs the rest of Zoho's suite. This is a WordPress-on-shared-hosting base, so sell as a WordPress plugin or through the hosting panel.

G2 review signals

Zoho Mail rates 4.4 out of 5 from 727 G2 reviews (29 September 2026). Three of the five praise themes describe the interface: ease of use (49 mentions), user interface (25) and intuitive design (20). The complaints are about speed, slow performance (19) and slow loading (14), and then limited free-plan storage (12).

The storage complaint fits the base. Zoho's pricing page gives the free plan 5 GB per user, and 68.35% of the companies here have ten or fewer staff, the size a free five-user plan is built for. G2 doesn't say which reviewers are on it, so read it as a pattern match and no more.

Sales Signal: Storage and speed are the gaps Zoho Mail's own users name. Archiving, backup and extra-storage products have a stated need to sell into.
