Companies Using FeedWind

FeedWind is the odd one out in this batch. Medium, Hashnode and Overblog host blogs; FeedWind takes a feed from somewhere else and shows it in a box on your page. Our October 2026 crawl finds it on 1,446 domains, with 603 matched to an organisation. A domain counts when a page loads a script from feed.mikle.com, either the current loader or the older embed code. I fetched every one of the 1,445 live homepages and read the widget code on each.

One company is 13% of the count

1,307 homepages, 90.45%, still carry the widget code: 950 with the current loader and 357 with the older embed code. Across them I read 802 distinct widget ids. One id dominates. Karls Technology, a computer repair company, runs 193 local landing-page domains, one per town, and every one I fetched loads the same widget. Two more networks follow: 58 2day.uk local news sites on one widget, and 19 American Nurses Association domains that forward to nursingworld.org. Those three accounts make 270 domains, 18.7% of the live set.

Sales signal: count accounts, not domains. FeedWind's list holds roughly 800 widgets, and the three biggest networks should be treated as three prospects.

Does the feed still show?

Not on most sites, the week I checked, though it has recovered since. On 15 and 16 October 2026, every widget on FeedWind's current loader came back with a 502 error, and feed.mikle.com's homepage returned the same error, while the scripts themselves still downloaded. The older embed code goes through a different address, and it still worked. I loaded a random 50 domains in a browser: 8 showed a working feed, all on the older code, 31 showed the error, and the rest had removed the widget, blocked us, failed to draw it or didn't load. An archived copy shows the site working on 11 October, and by 29 October the site and the current loader were serving widgets again.

Sales signal: a multi-day outage on the current loader left the 950 homepages that use it showing an error box where the feed should be. The feeds are back, but a competing widget vendor has a recent, concrete reason to call.

Tracking started in August

The chart starts in August 2026, when we began tracking FeedWind: 1,018 domains, then 1,399 in September and 1,446 in October. That rise is mostly our side. The domains we crawl turn over every month, dead ones out and new ones in, and the signals we detect FeedWind with widened in the first weeks. 129 domains dropped it on at least one hostname since 4 August, but 69 of those still ran it on another, so about 60 left altogether.

Sales signal: FeedWind's base is shrinking slowly, not collapsing. The leavers are few enough to read one by one, and the 63 homepages that no longer show the widget code are the first ones to check.

Who embeds feeds

Small and old. 59.96% of matched organisations with a known size have 1 to 10 employees, but 10.97% have 51 to 200, and the large names are institutions: Stony Brook University on its cybersecurity programme site, KAUST's library, New Zealand's Department of Corrections on its careers site. Professional bodies are the other big group: the Texas Nurses Association and the American Geriatrics Society both carry it, alongside public broadcasters such as WFSU and churches such as the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand. 49.28% were founded before 2000 and only 2.86% in the 2020s. Non-profits (3.67%), libraries (2.65%), religious institutions (2.45%) and higher education (2.04%) add up to 10.81%, and no label goes above 3.67%.

Sales signal: this is a public-sector and community list. Website agencies that rebuild library, church and association sites will find more fit here than SaaS sellers will.

Where they are

The United States has 278 matched organisations, the United Kingdom 66 and Japan 36. Japan's place fits the vendor: FeedWind is made by Mikle KK of Tokyo, its site has a Japanese version, and nine pages I fetched label the widget "RSS表示パーツ" in their embed code. Kakehashi, a Japanese health-tech company, runs two widgets on its homepage.

Sales signal: for anyone selling web services in Japan, FeedWind's 36 Japanese organisations are a short list of sites that still update a homepage news box.

The stack is from another era

jQuery runs on 84.08% of the 1,445 live domains, jQuery Migrate on 23.11% and jQuery UI on 15.71%. WordPress is on 19.52%, Weebly on 6.3%, and Joomla and Jimdo around 2% each. Google Analytics is on 69.0% and Siteimprove, a web accessibility and quality tool, on 1.31%. Elfsight, the widget company, shares 21 domains with FeedWind, and 20 domains run FeedWind beside Blogger.

Sales signal: jQuery-era sites with a feed box are redesign candidates. Pitch the rebuild first, the replacement widget second.

What it costs

FeedWind's plans page, as archived on 9 October 2026, lists a free plan with one widget, five posts, updates every 12 hours and FeedWind branding. Basic is $9 a year, Pro $89 and Plus $179 billed annually, and only Pro and Plus remove the branding. Trial widgets are disabled when the trial ends without a purchase. 258 of the homepages I fetched carry a link back to feed.mikle.com in the embed code.

Sales signal: FeedWind's paid plans run from $9 to $179 a year, so these are small-ticket buyers. A rival with a free tier and no branding has an easy opening.
