Companies Using Hashnode
Our October 2026 crawl finds Hashnode on 1,167 domains, every one checked, and nearly all of them are developer blogs Hashnode hosts on the writer's own domain. Free blogs on hashnode.dev addresses don't show up as separate domains, so this is the custom-domain side of Hashnode. Below is the list of companies that use Hashnode, mostly small software firms and student tech clubs, among them Klivvr, Hack2skill, KonfHub and Fractional AI, with size, country, industry and stack.
Two notes on the count. We removed 134 domains that our detection had flagged: 72 dead or parked, 61 other sites, many of them matched only because their page code shares a CSS class name with Hashnode's blog template, and Hashnode's own domain. And 132 of the blogs that remain are empty, still showing Hashnode's "I haven't started writing yet" placeholder; we kept those. Hashnode ranks 9th of 31 in Blogging & Syndication, a table RSS feeds fill, so compare counts, not shares.

Hashnode Usage Statistics
The chart shows a single point, 1,167 domains in October 2026, because October is the month we cleaned. Earlier monthly totals still held the 134 dead, mismatched and vendor-owned domains described on this page, so we don't chart them beside the cleaned figure. Since we began tracking Hashnode on 16 March 2026, 120 domains have dropped it on at least one hostname, and when we checked, only 8 of them still ran it on another hostname.

Which Countries Use Hashnode the Most?
Which countries use Hashnode the most? India, with 46 matched companies, ahead of the United States (41), then the United Kingdom (14), Brazil (13) and Canada (11). Nigeria and Kenya (6 each) both make the top ten. These counts cover only the 272 Hashnode domains we matched to a company, based on our enriched company data; most Hashnode blogs belong to individual developers, not companies.
Share of the 272 Hashnode domains we matched to a company record — 23.3% of the 1,167 we detect. Top 15 countries shown, so these do not sum to 100%. Domains with no matching company record are not represented here and skew small and independent.
Hashnode Market Share Among Blogging & Syndication
What is Hashnode's market share? Too small to mean much. Hashnode ranks 9th of 31 technologies in Blogging & Syndication with 0.01%, but RSS feeds account for 9,647,402 of the category's 9,746,782 domains, so every share in the chart is close to zero. Compare counts instead: Blogger has 63,680 domains, Substack 9,748, beehiiv 3,369, Medium 1,590 and Hashnode 1,167, based on our live crawl at TechnologyChecker.io. FeedWind, ranked 8th, is an RSS widget rather than a blog host.
Top Competitors by Market Share
Hashnode Customers by Company Size & Age
What size companies use Hashnode? Tiny ones. 81.78% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 13.38% have 11 to 50, so 95.16% have 50 staff or fewer. Only 1 is listed with more than 1,000, an Indonesian vocational school whose website runs on Hashnode. The bigger names our detection first flagged turned out to be sites with no Hashnode on them, and we removed them.
Company Size Distribution
Company Age (Founded Decade)
63.84% of matched companies were founded in the 2020s and 30.51% in the 2010s, so 94.35% of those with a known founding year started in 2010 or later. Only 4.52% date from the 2000s. That's a younger base than Medium's, where the 2020s account for 41.45% per its profile, and it fits a company list made up of startups and student tech clubs.
What Industries Use Hashnode the Most?
IT Services and IT Consulting leads at 19.32%, then Software Development (18.94%) and Technology, Information and Internet (17.42%). Those three make 55.68% of matched companies, more than half. Financial Services, Education, Data Infrastructure and Analytics and the older Information Technology & Services label follow at 2.27% each, based on our enriched company data at TechnologyChecker.io.
Software companies using Hashnode include Fractional AI, which runs its engineering blog on it, Codechem and ByteScrum. Student tech clubs on Hashnode include ACM-VIT and COPS IIT BHU, and Open Source Community Africa runs its blog there too. Fintech companies using Hashnode include Klivvr, which publishes at blog.klivvr.com.
Hashnode Alternatives & Competitors
The table's rows are blog hosts, but the counts aren't like for like. Blogger's 63,680 includes free blogspot.com addresses and Substack's 9,748 includes substack.com publications, while Hashnode's 1,167 is custom domains only. Few sites run two of them: 4 Hashnode domains also run Substack today, 2 run beehiiv and 2 run Ghost. Medium is the only pair with enough history to test, and of the 5 domains ever seen with both, 3 still run both, so it fails our switching tests and this page has no migration table.

Tech Stack of Hashnode-Powered Websites
Hashnode's template sets most of the stack. Across the 1,167 domains in our cleaned set, Cloudflare's CDN runs on 99.23% and Google Analytics on 98.2%, close to every blog, so read them as the platform's choices, not the writer's. Below those two the shares drop: Cloudflare Browser Insights on 11.23%, Plausible on 6.08%, Vercel Analytics on 2.49% and Umami on 1.46%, and tools that vary blog by blog are the owners' settings, not the template's. WordPress shows up on only 1.11%.

How We Counted Hashnode Blogs
A domain counts here when a page carries a CSS class from Hashnode's blog template, loads a script from hashnode.com or sits on a hashnode.dev address. Free blogs on hashnode.dev addresses collapse into Hashnode's own domain, so the count is custom domains. The class test is the loose one: the same class name is generated by the Emotion styling library on sites that have nothing to do with Hashnode.
In October 2026 our detection flagged 1,302 live domains. After removing one for-sale or gambling title, we checked every remaining domain by DNS and by loading the page, and removed 134: 72 dead (55 didn't answer, 12 were parked or for sale, 5 returned 404), 61 live sites with no Hashnode, 27 of them carrying the shared class, and Hashnode's own hashnode.dev.
Every chart and table on this page uses the remaining 1,167. They include 132 live Hashnode blogs with no posts, which we kept because the blog exists and the owner set up the domain. 1,059 of the blogs we classified resolve to 76.76.21.21. Our category table uses this cleaned figure too, and Hashnode ranks 9th there. The chart starts in October 2026, the month we cleaned.
Expert Analysis: Hashnode Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

I pulled Hashnode out of our October 2026 crawl expecting a small, clean developer platform. The platform part is right; the count needed work. Our detection first flagged 1,302 live domains. A domain counts when a page has a CSS class the rule ties to Hashnode's blog template, loads a script from hashnode.com or sits on a hashnode.dev address. Free hashnode.dev blogs collapse into one domain, so this is the custom-domain side of the platform. I checked every domain, by DNS and by loading the page, and 1,167 remain, 9th of 31 in Blogging & Syndication, with 272 matched to a company.
What we took out
72 domains were dead: 55 didn't answer, 12 were parked or for sale and 5 returned 404. 61 were live sites with no Hashnode on them, and 27 of those carried the CSS class the rule looks for, a class name the Emotion styling library generates on unrelated sites. They were the trap: an entertainment payroll company, a Spanish fashion house, a German fuel distributor and a Canadian credit-score site all sat at the top of the original company list. The last removal was Hashnode's own hashnode.dev.
Sales signal: if you hold an older Hashnode list, the biggest companies on it are the ones most likely to be wrong. Check those first.
What's left, and what's empty
Of the live blogs we classified, 1,059 resolve to 76.76.21.21, the address most Hashnode custom domains resolve to. 132 are empty: Hashnode's "I haven't started writing yet" placeholder is still the only thing on the page. 58 carry the placeholder title "Untitled Publication", and 39 of those have posts. I found no headless sites calling Hashnode's API from their own pages. Among the 1,148 blogs whose post count I could read, the median is 6 posts and 108 have 50 or more.
"One Hashnode blog in nine on a custom domain has no posts at all. Someone bought the domain, connected it and stopped there." - Emma Davies, Data Analyst at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: this is a stable pool of about 1,000 active developer blogs. 120 domains have dropped Hashnode on at least one hostname since 16 March 2026, and only 8 of them still ran it on another. The chart starts in October because that's the month we cleaned.
Who blogs here
Individual developers first. 639 of the 1,166 live blogs sit on a bare domain, which often means a personal site such as a name.dev address, and only 272 domains match a company at all. Among those companies, 81.78% have 1 to 10 employees and 63.84% were founded in the 2020s. The named ones are engineering and product blogs: Fractional AI at engineering.fractional.ai, Klivvr, Hack2skill, KonfHub and Cryptape. Student clubs show up too, ACM-VIT and COPS IIT BHU among them, along with Open Source Community Africa.
Sales signal: a Hashnode company blog usually belongs to the founding engineers. Developer tools, API products and hiring platforms should pitch the CTO or a lead developer, not a marketing team that may not exist yet.
India ahead of the United States
India has 46 matched companies and the United States 41, then the United Kingdom 14, Brazil 13 and Canada 11. Nigeria and Kenya (6 each) make the top ten. IT Services (19.32%), Software Development (18.94%) and Technology, Information and Internet (17.42%) make 55.68% of the base, a narrower, more technical mix than Medium's 43.61% for the same three labels.
Sales signal: for developer-community, devrel and technical hiring offers aimed at India, Nigeria and Kenya, Hashnode domains are a tight list. The companies are small, but almost all of them are technical.
Moves between platforms
Few domains run Hashnode beside another blog host: today 4 also run Substack, 2 run beehiiv and 2 run Ghost. Only Medium has enough shared history to test, and of the 5 domains ever seen with both, 3 still run both, so it fails our switching tests. The departures I could trace went somewhere else: four blog subdomains now redirect to a /blog path on the company's main domain, and we removed them from the count.
"In our data, Hashnode blogs don't leave for Medium or Substack. The ones I could trace moved home, onto the company's main site." - Emma Davies, Data Analyst at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: the competitor for a Hashnode blog is the company's own website stack. Headless CMS and docs-site vendors are better placed than other blog hosts.
The template sets the stack
Cloudflare's CDN runs on 99.23% of the 1,167 domains and Google Analytics on 98.2%, and on our raw count Next.js and Tailwind CSS each run on about 96%. That's Hashnode's blog template, not the writers. Their own choices show lower down: Plausible on 6.08%, Vercel Analytics on 2.49% and Umami on 1.46%, and Mailgun (2.91%) for email.
Sales signal: privacy-first analytics is the clearest owner-chosen signal here. A Hashnode blog with Plausible or Umami suggests a developer who picks tools deliberately, which suits open-source and developer-first products.
What it costs
Hashnode's Pro page, checked on 15 October 2026, prices Pro at $5 a month or $50 a year per publication. It lists the custom domain, GraphQL API access, headless mode, removal of Hashnode branding and up to 10 publications. Starting a blog stays free.
Sales signal: custom domains became a Pro feature in June 2026, but older ones were grandfathered, and the company blogs we checked still show Hashnode's branding. Don't read this list as paying customers; a blog without the "Powered by Hashnode" footer is the one more likely to pay.
Key takeaways
1. 1,167 domains after removing 72 dead and 61 non-Hashnode sites, the second group led by a shared CSS class.
2. 132 live blogs are still empty, and the median blog has 6 posts.
3. A tiny, young, technical base: 81.78% have ten staff or fewer and 63.84% were founded in the 2020s.
4. India (46) leads the United States (41).
5. No switching corridor to any rival blog host.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who uses Hashnode?
Mostly individual developers, plus small software firms and student tech clubs. Our October 2026 crawl finds Hashnode on 1,167 custom domains, each checked, after removing dead and mismatched ones. 81.78% of matched companies have 1 to 10 employees. Named users include Fractional AI, Klivvr, Hack2skill, KonfHub and Open Source Community Africa.
How many customers does Hashnode have?
Our crawl counts 1,167 domains in October 2026, and 272 of them match a company. That's custom domains only: free hashnode.dev blogs aren't counted separately. We removed 134 domains that were dead or not Hashnode, and kept 132 blogs that are live but have no posts yet. 120 domains have dropped Hashnode since 16 March 2026.
What is Hashnode's market share?
We don't quote one. Hashnode ranks 9th of 31 technologies in Blogging & Syndication with 0.01%, but RSS feeds make up 9,647,402 of the category's 9,746,782 domains, so every share is close to zero. Counts compare better: Blogger has 63,680 domains, Substack 9,748, beehiiv 3,369, Medium 1,590 and Hashnode 1,167, based on our October 2026 crawl.
What are the best alternatives to Hashnode?
For developer blogs, Medium is the closest match in our data, with 1,590 domains and a similar tech-heavy base. Substack (9,748) and beehiiv (3,369) suit newsletters, Blogger (63,680) is the largest free host, and Ghost runs on 10,995 domains per its profile. Overlap is small: 4 Hashnode domains run Substack today, and 2 each run beehiiv and Ghost.
Which countries use Hashnode the most?
India, with 46 matched companies, ahead of the United States (41), then the United Kingdom (14), Brazil (13) and Canada (11). Nigeria and Kenya have 6 each, and the United Arab Emirates and Indonesia 5 each. These counts cover the 272 domains we matched to a company in October 2026; most Hashnode blogs belong to individual developers, so they don't appear here.
What size companies use Hashnode?
Very small ones. 81.78% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 13.38% have 11 to 50, so 95.16% have 50 staff or fewer. Only one is listed with more than 1,000 staff, an Indonesian vocational school. The larger companies our detection first flagged had no Hashnode on their sites, and we removed them.
How old are companies that use Hashnode?
Mostly very young. Among matched companies with a known founding year, 63.84% were founded in the 2020s and 30.51% in the 2010s, so 94.35% started in 2010 or later. Only 4.52% date from the 2000s. That's younger than Medium's base, where the 2020s account for 41.45%, according to its profile.
What is the ideal customer profile for Hashnode?
The ideal Hashnode customer is: Company Size: 1-10 employees (81.78%), Location: India and the United States, then UK, Industry: IT services, software and internet, Founded: 2020s (63.84%), Setup: Developer blog on its own domain — based on our analysis of 272 enriched companies at TechnologyChecker.io.
Is Hashnode free?
Starting a blog is free, according to Hashnode's homepage. Hashnode Pro costs $5 a month or $50 a year per publication on its Pro page, checked 15 October 2026, and adds a custom domain, GraphQL API access, headless mode and removal of Hashnode branding. Every domain in our count is a custom domain. New custom domains have needed Pro since June 2026, but domains connected before then were grandfathered free, so a custom domain here doesn't mean a paying customer.
What is Hashnode used for?
Developer and engineering blogs. Hashnode now pitches itself as a blog that gets cited by AI search engines, but its users are still mostly developers: 55.68% of matched companies are in IT services, software or internet. The typical live blog is small, with a median of 6 posts among the 1,148 we could count, though 108 have 50 or more.
Is Hashnode Indian?
It started there. YourStory described Hashnode in December 2020 as a Bengaluru and Delaware-based startup founded by Syed Fazle Rahman and Sandeep Panda. India is also Hashnode's largest market by matched companies in our October 2026 crawl, with 46 against 41 in the United States, though both counts are small.
