Companies Using Postscript
Postscript is an SMS marketing app for Shopify stores, and our October 2026 crawl finds its code on 17,227 domains, the largest count in SMS Marketing. Each install carries the store's own Postscript shop ID. When we checked a random 100 stores on 16 October 2026, 91 showed an ID, no two brands shared one, and Postscript's own API answered for all of them. Below is the list of companies that use Postscript, with size, country and industry, including New Era Cap, Steve Madden, Ruggable, Dr. Squatch and Blue Bell Creameries.
Postscript holds a 46.93% share of SMS Marketing, ahead of Attentive. Its buyers are young, small direct-to-consumer brands: 99.89% of the domains run Shopify, 82.83% of matched companies are in the United States and 70.84% have 1 to 10 staff. Some brands own many domains; one air-purifier maker accounts for 108 that all forward to its main store.

Postscript Usage Statistics
Our crawl counted Postscript on 13,779 domains in June 2026, 18,034 in July and 17,227 in October. The June-to-July step reflects changes on our side, both the domains we cover and the signals we detect Postscript with, rather than a surge in installs. Since then the count has eased by about 800. The set of domains we crawl turns over every month, dead stores out and new ones in, so read that as roughly flat. Since we began tracking on 16 March 2026, 4,899 domains stopped showing Postscript.

Which Countries Use Postscript the Most?
Which countries use Postscript the most? The United States, by a long way: 3,151 of the 3,804 companies we matched (82.83%). Canada follows with 203, then Australia (95) and the United Kingdom (78). That fits the product. Postscript's pricing page lists message rates for the US and Canada only. Beyond the top four, only Puerto Rico (14) and France (13) reach double digits.
Share of the 3,804 Postscript domains we matched to a company record — 22.1% of the 17,227 we detect. Top 15 countries shown, so these do not sum to 100%. Domains with no matching company record are not represented here and skew small and independent.
Postscript Market Share Among SMS Marketing
What is Postscript's market share? 46.93% of SMS Marketing, 1st of the 10 technologies we track there, on 17,227 domains, based on our crawl at TechnologyChecker.io. Attentive is second with 13,145 domains (35.81%), so Postscript leads by about 4,100. The next row, Zalo (3,681), is a Vietnamese messaging platform's widget rather than an SMS marketing tool, and Yotpo SMSBump's 625 are leftovers of a product Yotpo shut down at the end of 2025.
Top Competitors by Market Share
Postscript Customers by Company Size & Age
What size companies use Postscript? Very small ones, by headcount. 70.84% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 staff and 22.63% have 11 to 50, so 93.47% have fewer than 51. Headcount undersells some of them: ILIA Beauty and Chomps are well-known brands with 11 to 50 staff. Only 13 matched companies employ more than 1,000 people, Steve Madden, New Era Cap and Blue Bell Creameries among them.
Company Size Distribution
Company Age (Founded Decade)
These are young companies. 56.55% were founded in the 2010s and 24.45% in the 2020s, so 81% were founded in 2010 or later. Only 10.38% date from the 2000s and fewer than 9% from before 2000. The older names are mostly established brands adding a Shopify store, such as Blue Bell Creameries' ice-cream shipping site or Benchmade's knife shop.
What Industries Use Postscript the Most?
Retail apparel and fashion leads at 18.59%, followed by general retail (16.47%), manufacturing (6.52%), wellness and fitness (5.55%) and food and beverage (5.29%), based on our enriched company data. Add personal care (4.77%), luxury goods and jewellery (2.79%) and the second apparel row (2.83%), and the list is mostly consumer brands selling products people reorder or browse on a phone.
Fashion brands using Postscript are the biggest group, from Steve Madden and Kenneth Cole to Dolce Vita and LoveShackFancy. Beauty and personal care brands on Postscript include Kosas, ILIA Beauty, Sun Bum and Pixi Beauty. Food brands using Postscript include ButcherBox, Chomps and Super Coffee, and Blue Bell Creameries uses it on the site that ships its ice cream.
Postscript Alternatives & Competitors
The table counts domains, and only the top two are like for like. Postscript (17,227) and Attentive (13,145) both load an SMS sign-up and tracking script on the store. Emotive has 774. Below them the rows measure other things: Zalo's 3,681 is a messaging platform, and Yotpo SMSBump's 625 are tags left behind after Yotpo closed its SMS product. Running two SMS tools is uncommon: 257 Postscript domains also show Attentive today and 45 show Emotive.
| Technology | Domains | Market Share |
|---|---|---|
| 13,145 | 35.81% | |
Zalo | 3,681 | 10.03% |
| 774 | 2.11% | |
| 625 | 1.7% |
Postscript Customer Migration
Since tracking began in March 2026, 777 domains dropped Yotpo SMSBump and kept Postscript, 696 of them in the last 90 days and 130 in the last 30. None went the other way, and only 27 still show both. That timing follows Yotpo's exit: it set full deprecation of its email and SMS products for 31 December 2025 and recommended Attentive and Omnisend, not Postscript. Most of these stores probably moved earlier and are now removing the dead SMSBump tag. No single brand dominates the row; the largest has 9 domains.

How We Counted Postscript Customers
A domain counts here when a page on it loads Postscript's SDK: the script from sdk.postscript.io, or the code that script leaves in the page. Our October 2026 crawl found it on 16,804 live domains in our scan, and our for-sale and gambling title filter removed 19, leaving 16,785 (16,783 of them with stack data) for the company, country and industry breakdowns. The headline of 17,227 is our category table's count for the same rule.
Each install names the store's own Postscript account, so we checked whose account it is. On 16 October 2026 we opened a random 100 of the domains in a browser. 91 showed a Postscript shop ID, and only one ID appeared on two domains, both belonging to the same brand. We then asked Postscript's API for each ID's settings: it answered for all of them, with the store's own name, while 21 of 24 random IDs we tried returned nothing. No agency or platform runs Postscript under one account across unrelated stores.
Two things stay in the count and are worth knowing. Closed Shopify stores keep their tags until our next visit: 283 domains (1.69%) show Shopify's closed-store, error, sign-up or default page as their title, and in the browser sample 13 of 100 stores were behind a password page. And some brands own many domains: 784 domains share a store title with at least four others, led by one air-purifier maker's 108 domains, all forwarding to its main store. Of the 4,899 domains that stopped showing Postscript since March 2026, 563 still run it on another hostname, so true exits are fewer.
Expert Analysis: Postscript Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

SMS marketing pages usually come with an awkward question: whose account is the tag running under? Postscript's answer is clean. Our October 2026 crawl finds its SDK on 17,227 domains, 1st in SMS Marketing, and we matched 3,804 to a company. When I checked a random 100 of those stores in a browser on 16 October, every install carried the store's own Postscript ID. Below: who those merchants are, and where they overlap with rivals.
Every store runs its own account
Of the 100 stores, 91 showed a Postscript shop ID in the page. The IDs were all different, apart from one brand using the same ID on two of its own domains, and Postscript's API returned settings, with the right store name, for every one. Random IDs mostly return nothing (21 of 24 did), so that is a real check, not an API that answers everything. The rest of the sample: 6 stores didn't load, 1 showed Shopify's "Store unavailable" page and 2 had no ID we could see. 13 of the 100 were password-protected stores, which still count.
Sales signal: each domain here is a merchant with its own Postscript account and its own SMS budget. There is no agency fleet to filter out first.
A big, flat base
Our monthly counts read 13,779 in June, 18,034 in July and 17,227 in October. The June-to-July step is ours: the domains we cover and the signals we detect Postscript with both changed, and the set of domains we crawl turns over every month, dead stores out and new ones in. Since July the line has eased by about 800. Exits are real but smaller than the raw number: 4,899 domains stopped showing Postscript since 16 March 2026, and when I rechecked, 563 of them still ran it on another hostname.
"Postscript is the rare SMS tool where the count and the customer list line up. Each store carries its own account, so its 17,227 domains are thousands of separate merchants." - Sophie Clarke, Product Marketing Manager at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: treat Postscript as a mature, large installed base rather than a fast-growing one. The interesting movement is at the edges, among stores leaving other SMS tools.
Young brands with small teams
70.84% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 staff, and 81% were founded in 2010 or later (56.55% in the 2010s, 24.45% in the 2020s). That is the profile of a direct-to-consumer brand, and the names bear it out: Ruggable, Dr. Squatch, Ridge, The Black Tux, Kosas, ButcherBox. Postscript's own customer page shows Dr. Squatch, Ridge and Ruggable among its logos, and our crawl finds all three with live shop IDs. A handful of larger companies use it too: Steve Madden and New Era Cap on their main stores, Blue Bell Creameries on its ice-cream shipping site and EquipmentShare on its parts store. Postscript says more than 20,000 brands use it; our 17,227 domains count live stores, and some brands have several addresses, such as one air-purifier maker's 108 forwarding domains.
Sales signal: filter on revenue signals rather than headcount. A 10-person Shopify brand on Postscript can be a serious account.
An American product, by design
3,151 of the 3,804 matched companies are in the United States (82.83%), with Canada a distant second at 203. Postscript's pricing page fits that: its listed per-message rates are for the US and Canada, with international sending priced separately. Industry is consumer goods throughout. Retail apparel and fashion leads at 18.59%, general retail follows at 16.47%, then manufacturing, wellness, food and beverage, and personal care.
Sales signal: for anyone selling to SMS-led brands outside North America, this list is mostly the wrong market; inside the US it is a dense map of Shopify fashion and beauty brands.
Where switching shows up
One flow passes all our switching tests. Since March 2026, 777 domains dropped Yotpo SMSBump and kept Postscript, 696 of them in the last 90 days, with none going the other way. Yotpo explains the timing: it set full deprecation of its email and SMS products for 31 December 2025 and recommended Attentive and Omnisend as replacements. Postscript wasn't on that list, yet it is where these stores are now. Most probably moved earlier and are only now removing the dead SMSBump tag. Yotpo's reviews and loyalty products carry on, and Yotpo Reviews keeps its own page.
Attentive is the real rival. Today 257 Postscript domains also show Attentive, out of 495 that ever showed both. With about half that overlap still running both, the movement between them doesn't pass our tests as a switch in either direction.
"Yotpo told its SMS customers to go to Attentive or Omnisend. Our crawl shows 777 of them ended up on Postscript, and none went back." - Sophie Clarke, Product Marketing Manager at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: stores that still carry both Postscript and Attentive are mid-evaluation. They are the warmest list here for either vendor.
Shopify first, Klaviyo next to it
Shopify runs on 99.89% of the 16,783 domains in our stack base, so Postscript is a Shopify product in practice. Klaviyo shows on 45.32%, and Postscript integrates with it, although Postscript is now rolling out its own email product, which puts the two in more direct competition. Google Analytics is on 48.74%. The common Shopify apps beside it are Instafeed (15.02%) and Hextom (8.12%), a typical small fashion-store stack.
Sales signal: most accounts here also run a separate email tool. Anyone selling email to these stores is selling into a Klaviyo account about half the time.
What Postscript charges, and what that implies
Postscript's pricing page (read 16 October 2026) lists a Starter plan at $0 a month with a $49 monthly minimum spend, Growth at $100, Professional at $500 and custom Enterprise pricing, with SMS rates from $0.009 down to $0.007 a message plus carrier fees. A $49 floor suits the 1-to-10-person stores that dominate our list. Y Combinator lists Postscript as founded in 2018, from its Winter 2019 batch.
Sales signal: the entry price is low enough that many of these accounts are small. Size the opportunity from store traffic or product range, not from the fact that a store runs Postscript.

How can you tell if a store uses Postscript?
Look for its SDK in the page source: a script from sdk.postscript.io with a shopId parameter, or Postscript's Shopify app block, which sets a variable called ps_extension_shop_id. The number is the store's own Postscript shop ID. That is how our crawl finds the 17,227 domains on this page, and how we checked that no agency ID was shared across stores.
