Companies Using Overblog

Overblog was the easiest page in this batch to check and the hardest to sell from. Our October 2026 crawl finds it on 808 domains, 10th of 31 in Blogging & Syndication, with 194 matched to an organisation. A domain counts when a page loads assets from Overblog's servers at over-blog.com or over-blog-kiwi.com. I resolved every one of the 807 live domains and loaded a random 50.

Still Overblog, almost all of it

800 of the 807 live domains resolve to addresses registered to Overblog itself, and all 50 sampled domains loaded an Overblog page, most with dozens of Overblog assets. These aren't leftover image links on a site that moved; they're Overblog blogs. 652 sit on the owner's own domain, 148 on a free over-blog.com address and 7 on other shared addresses such as over-blog.org.

The seven domains off Overblog's network aren't all gone: two no longer resolve, but at least two others still reach an Overblog page through Cloudflare. Three blogs show nothing but Overblog's "Connexion" login page, which is how a private blog looks from outside. And shared addresses such as over-blog.org and over-blog.fr each appear in our data as a single domain holding many blogs, so the free side of the platform is undercounted here.

Sales signal: unlike most hosted-platform lists, this one barely needs cleaning. The catch is the opposite one: a base this stable rarely changes vendor.

A base that barely moves

The chart reads 675 in June 2026, 720 in July and August, 805 in September and 808 in October. The September step is our side: the domains we crawl turn over every month, dead ones out and new ones in, and the signals we detect Overblog with widened. Only 29 domains dropped it on at least one hostname since 16 March 2026, and 7 of those still ran it on another.

Sales signal: a static, loyal base is good for retention and bad for anyone hoping to catch a migration. Timing won't come from churn data here; it'll come from the owner's own plans.

Who blogs on Overblog

Very small organisations. 84.68% of matched organisations with a known size have 1 to 10 employees, and only 2 have more than 200. The founding years that are known lean to the 2010s (45.95%) and 2000s (32.43%), though only 37 organisations list one. The names are local: Fondation Culture & Diversité, the citizen reserve of the Paris military governor, the Ensemble Vocal Monteclair, the Yachting Club du Pays de Fontainebleau, the stonemasons Taille de Pierre 62 and Les paniers de Sophie, which sells weekly boxes of local produce. Organisations LinkedIn files under health care appear too: the Résidence du Ploreau, whose blog keeps residents' families informed, and the Hospitalité de Touraine.

Sales signal: for most of these organisations the Overblog blog is the website. A web agency or a site builder selling to French associations, artisans and clubs will find buyers here who may never have had another website.

France, and French-speaking Africa

France has 143 matched organisations, Belgium 5, Germany and the United States 3 each, and Cameroon, Spain, Switzerland and Canada 2. The tail includes the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Côte d'Ivoire and Mali. Retail (9.32%) leads the industries, then Civic and Social Organizations (8.07%), and the civic, arts and family-services labels together make 16.77%.

Sales signal: treat this as a French-language list. Outreach in English will waste most of it, and the associative sector, with its volunteers and small budgets, needs a different offer from a shop's.

Nowhere to switch to

I looked for overlap with the blog hosts in the category, and with Ghost. Not one live Overblog domain also runs Blogger, Substack, Medium, beehiiv, Hashnode, Tumblr, Ghost or DropInBlog. The 29 departures are too few to test, so there's no migration table, and I can't name a common next home.

Sales signal: the pitch against Overblog isn't another blog host; it's a proper website with the blog inside it. Agencies offering a WordPress or site-builder rebuild in French have the clearest angle.

The template is the stack

comScore runs on 97.77% of the 807 live domains, jQuery and core-js on 99.38% and FancyBox on 95.29%. They ship with every Overblog page, and the consent wall on Overblog's own pages names Webedia and its advertising partners, so the measurement belongs to the platform. Google Analytics, on 18.84%, is the one tag owners add themselves.

Sales signal: the 18.84% with their own Google Analytics are the owners who track their audience. They're the better prospects for anything sold on traffic or conversion.

What it costs

Overblog's premium page, checked on 15 October 2026, lists a free Basic plan; Comfort at €3.99 a month billed annually (€4.99 monthly), which removes advertising; Individual at €4.99 (€5.99 monthly), which adds a custom domain; and Business at €19.99 (€23.99 monthly). The custom domain is an annual offer only. Webedia bought Overblog in 2014, according to Wikipedia, and the site's footer still credits it.

Sales signal: today's price list puts a custom-domain blog at €60 to €240 a year. A rebuild has to come in close to that, or bundle hosting the owner would otherwise pay Overblog for.
