Companies Using DropInBlog
Our October 2026 crawl finds DropInBlog on 570 live domains, and most of them are online stores, not blogs. DropInBlog embeds a blog into a site that already exists, and 234 of the 570 run on BigCommerce, 216 on Shopify. Below is the list of companies that use DropInBlog, with size, country, industry and stack. It includes Paizo's online store, the audio software maker iZotope, Strider Bikes and Manhattanville University.
The 570 leaves out 67 domains that load DropInBlog but get no blog from it. We asked DropInBlog's own embed service about every account we could read, and 38 of the 198 we could test by ID returned its "trial has expired or is inactive" notice or no longer exist. Our category table uses the same cleaned count, where DropInBlog ranks 11th of 31 technologies in Blogging & Syndication, with 0.01% of the category.

DropInBlog Usage Statistics
DropInBlog reads 570 domains in October 2026, the only point on the chart. Our earlier monthly totals include the 67 domains removed from this page, so the line starts where the cleaned count does. Read any older raw figure with care: the set of domains we crawl turns over every month, dead sites out and new ones in, and our detection widened in August. Since we began tracking DropInBlog in March 2026, 125 domains have dropped it; 12 of those still run it on another hostname.

Which Countries Use DropInBlog the Most?
Which countries use DropInBlog the most? The United States, with 208 of the 310 matched companies, then the United Kingdom (27), Australia (15) and Canada (14). Add New Zealand's 2 and English-speaking countries hold 266. Nothing else reaches four: Germany, Norway and India have 3 each, so it's a North American and British base.
Share of the 310 DropInBlog domains we matched to a company record — 54.4% of the 570 we detect. Top 15 countries shown, so these do not sum to 100%. Domains with no matching company record are not represented here and skew small and independent.
DropInBlog Market Share Among Blogging & Syndication
What is DropInBlog's market share? 0.01% of Blogging & Syndication, 11th of the 31 technologies we track there, based on our live crawl at TechnologyChecker.io. The share is tiny because the category counts RSS feeds and free hosted blogs, and DropInBlog is neither. It's a paid add-on that puts a blog inside an existing site, and on those terms its 570 domains are mostly ecommerce stores: BigCommerce runs on 234 of them and Shopify on 216.
Top Competitors by Market Share
DropInBlog Customers by Company Size & Age
What size companies use DropInBlog? Small ones, but not micro. 53.77% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 29.11% have 11 to 50, while 12.33% have 51 to 200. Only 6 have more than 500 staff, among them VINCI Building and Taylor Woodrow, two construction brands in the UK.
Company Size Distribution
Company Age (Founded Decade)
DropInBlog's customers are older than most blog users. The 2010s lead with 29.73%, then the 2000s (23.24%), but 34.6% were founded before 2000, and 7.03% before 1960. Only 12.43% date from the 2020s. Manhattanville University (1841), Ace Industries (1932) and Blackburn Manufacturing (1953) show the type: an established business adding content to a site it already runs.
What Industries Use DropInBlog the Most?
Retail leads at 16.17%, about four times the next industries, Advertising Services, Software Development and Wholesale (4.14% each), based on our enriched company data. Wellness and Fitness Services follows at 3.38%. The Advertising Services row is mostly promotional-products firms, several of them brands of one company, HPG Brands. Manufacturers also show up across several rows (motor vehicles, general manufacturing), selling direct from their own stores.
Retailers using DropInBlog include Mountain Rose Herbs, Tool Kit Depot in Australia and Country Baskets in the UK. Manufacturers on DropInBlog range from KRISS USA and Strider Bikes to Ace Industries and Blackburn Manufacturing. Publishers and software companies using DropInBlog include Paizo, on its online store, and iZotope, on its audio-plugin store.
DropInBlog Alternatives & Competitors
The competitor table holds the category's hosted blog platforms: Blogger (63,680 domains), Substack (9,748), Beehiiv (3,369) and Medium (2,163), based on our market share data at TechnologyChecker.io. None is like for like. They host a blog on their own servers and addresses, while DropInBlog puts one inside a store or website the customer already runs. Its real rivals are the store's built-in blog and other embedded blog apps. Blogger and Substack are hosted platforms, and our data shows no switching between them and DropInBlog.

How We Counted DropInBlog Customers
A domain counts as DropInBlog here if its homepage loads a script or stylesheet from dropinblog.com, which is what DropInBlog's embed code and its Shopify app do. Our October 2026 crawl found 637 live domains; none carried a for-sale or gambling title.
We then asked DropInBlog's own service about each account. Its embed code carries an account ID, or the store name for Shopify, and the service answers every page view with posts or a notice. Of the 198 accounts we could test by ID, 22 returned DropInBlog's "trial has expired or is inactive" notice and 16 no longer exist. Before computing anything we removed 67 domains: the 44 on those dead accounts, 4 Shopify stores that showed the same notice, and 19 dental-practice sites on one website template that loads DropInBlog's stylesheet but no account, so no DropInBlog blog runs there.
Every chart and table on this page uses the remaining 570. Our category table uses this cleaned count too, where DropInBlog ranks 11th of 31. The 125 domains that dropped DropInBlog since 17 March 2026 is a raw figure, and because our earlier monthly totals include the removed domains, the usage chart starts in October 2026.
Some uncertainty is left. 23 Shopify stores returned an error we couldn't interpret, and about 150 domains didn't load for our checker or showed no account we could test, so they stay in. A few sites are listed twice, once with www. and once without. And the rule misses DropInBlog blogs that load only on a /blog page or come through DropInBlog's API, so the 570 is not a census of DropInBlog's customers.
Expert Analysis: DropInBlog Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

DropInBlog is a small page in our data, and that makes it easy to check properly. Our October 2026 crawl finds it on 570 live domains with a working account, 11th of 31 technologies in Blogging & Syndication. A domain counts if its homepage loads a script or stylesheet from dropinblog.com. That's what DropInBlog's embed code does, so the rule is clean, but it sees only what's on the page we crawl. A blog that loads only on its own /blog page, or one rendered through DropInBlog's API, isn't counted. None of the six brands on DropInBlog's homepage is in our count, which tells you this is a floor.
Stores, not blogs
DropInBlog doesn't host a site; it adds a blog to one. So the platform underneath matters more than the category. BigCommerce runs on 234 of the 570 domains and Shopify on 216, while WordPress has 23 and Squarespace 6. Shogun, a storefront page builder, is on 70. Most DropInBlog sites are online stores adding articles to sell more.
Sales Signal: pitch DropInBlog's users as merchants. The person who chose it is an ecommerce marketer with a content budget, not an editor.
Domains are not accounts
DropInBlog puts an account ID in its embed code, or the store's domain for its Shopify app, so we can count accounts as well as domains. In the 395 domains where we could read it we found 270 accounts. The biggest are brand fleets, not agencies. Multipure runs one account across 32 of its product domains. HPG Brands uses two accounts across 16 domains of its promotional-products business. A floor-tape store and a scarf maker each show up on 7 or 8 alias domains. We found no agency running one account across unrelated clients.
Sales Signal: collapse a DropInBlog list by account before you count prospects. Multipure and HPG Brands are two buyers, not 48 domains.
Does the blog still load?
Not everywhere, which is why this page counts 570 and not 637. The embed asks DropInBlog's service for posts every time a page loads, and I asked the same service about every account I could read. Of the 198 accounts I could test by ID, 22 returned DropInBlog's own notice that "the trial has expired or is inactive" and 16 no longer exist, 19.2% between them. Their 44 domains still load the script, so a raw crawl counts them; this page doesn't. Neither does it count 4 Shopify stores showing the same notice, or 19 dental-practice sites built on one website template that loads DropInBlog's stylesheet and no account at all.
"About one in five DropInBlog accounts we tested had stopped serving posts while the site kept loading the script. On this page the domain count only includes the ones that still work." - Emma Davies, Data Analyst at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales Signal: a lapsed DropInBlog account on a live store is a lead for a rival blog app or an agency. Check it before you call.
Growth and churn
The cleaned count starts in October 2026, so the chart has one point. 125 domains dropped DropInBlog since we began tracking it in March 2026, and 12 of those still run it on another hostname. Our domain set turns over every month and our detection widened in August, so older raw totals aren't a growth curve.
Sales Signal: treat DropInBlog as a stable pool of a few hundred stores. Its growth story isn't in our data.
Who runs it
Small businesses, but older ones. 53.77% of matched companies have 1 to 10 staff and 12.33% have 51 to 200; only 6 have more than 500. 34.6% were founded before 2000, against 12.43% in the 2020s. Retail leads the industries at 16.17%, and manufacturers selling direct (KRISS USA, Strider Bikes, Ace Industries) recur. The large names are single brands: VINCI Building and Taylor Woodrow in the UK each run their own account.
Sales Signal: the buyer is the owner or marketing lead of an established store, usually with fewer than 50 staff. Sell outcomes in search traffic, not writing tools.
Where they are
The United States has 208 of the 310 matched companies, the UK 27, Australia 15 and Canada 14. No other country reaches four. It's an English-speaking base led by the US.
Sales Signal: run DropInBlog campaigns in US business hours and US English. Continental Europe barely registers.
Rivals
Our category table sets DropInBlog against hosted platforms: Blogger (63,680 domains), Substack (9,748), Beehiiv (3,369) and Medium (2,163). That isn't the real contest. A store owner chooses between the platform's built-in blog and an embedded app, and our data has no switching rows for DropInBlog at all.
"DropInBlog's rival is the blog a store already has. The category table puts it next to Blogger, but our data shows no stores switching between them." - Emma Davies, Data Analyst at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales Signal: competitive selling here means displacing a native Shopify or BigCommerce blog, or another embedded app. Lead with what the native blog lacks.
The stack around it
Google Analytics is on 86.32% of the 570 clean live domains and Cloudflare on 89.3%. The ad tags are a merchant's: DoubleClick Floodlight on 25.44%, Microsoft Advertising on 15.79% and Pinterest Ads on 14.74%. These sites buy traffic as well as earning it.
Sales Signal: paid-media and attribution vendors will find active ad buyers here. Floodlight is on 25.44% of DropInBlog domains against 2.35% of Blogger's.
What it costs
DropInBlog's pricing page (28 October 2026) lists Solo at $99 a month or $79 billed yearly, Team at $199 or $159, Business at $499 or $399, and Business Plus at $999 a month billed yearly, $11,988 a year. DropInBlog's Shopify listing starts at the same $99 and carries a 4.4 rating from 199 reviews. Its company page says it was established in 2013, launched in 2015 and is self-funded.
Sales Signal: at $948 a year for the cheapest plan billed yearly, DropInBlog is a line item a store owner reviews. Renewal is the moment to pitch.
Key takeaways
1. 570 domains with a working account, mostly BigCommerce and Shopify stores.

3. 38 of 198 accounts tested by ID (19.2%) had stopped serving posts; their domains are not counted here.
4. An older, US-centred retail base.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who uses DropInBlog?
Mostly small and mid-sized online stores that want a blog inside their site. Our October 2026 crawl finds DropInBlog on 570 live domains with a working account; BigCommerce runs on 234 of them and Shopify on 216. Named users include Paizo, iZotope, Strider Bikes, KRISS USA, Mountain Rose Herbs and Manhattanville University. Retail is the top industry at 16.17%.
How many customers does DropInBlog have?
Fewer than its domain count suggests. Our cleaned count is 570 domains, and where we could read the account, 395 of them belonged to 270 accounts, because brands such as Multipure run one blog across many domains. DropInBlog's homepage claims 10,000+ blogs over ten years. Since March 2026, 125 domains dropped it, 12 of which still run it on another hostname.
What is DropInBlog's market share?
0.01% of Blogging & Syndication, 11th of the 31 technologies we track there. The category is built around RSS feeds and hosted blogs such as Blogger (63,680 domains) and Substack (9,748), so the share says little about DropInBlog, which adds a blog to a site that already exists. On those terms, its 570 domains sit mostly on BigCommerce and Shopify stores.
What are the best alternatives to DropInBlog?
The free option is the store's own blog: DropInBlog's Shopify listing says it replaces Shopify's built-in blog. Other embedded blog apps include Quickblog, which publishes its own DropInBlog comparison, and Bloggle on Shopify's app store. For a standalone blog rather than a store's content section, hosted platforms such as Blogger, Substack or Beehiiv are the comparison our category table makes.
Which countries use DropInBlog the most?
The United States, by a wide margin: 208 of the 310 companies we matched. The United Kingdom has 27, Australia 15 and Canada 14, and with New Zealand's 2 that makes 266 in English-speaking countries. No other country has more than 3. These counts cover the DropInBlog domains we could match to a company, not all 570.
What size companies use DropInBlog?
Small, but bigger than a typical blog user. 53.77% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees, 29.11% have 11 to 50 and 12.33% have 51 to 200. Only 6 have more than 500 staff, among them VINCI Building and Taylor Woodrow in the UK. On Blogger's profile, by contrast, 77.65% of matched companies are in the smallest band.
How old are companies that use DropInBlog?
Older than most blog users. The 2010s lead at 29.73% and the 2000s follow at 23.24%, but 34.6% of matched companies were founded before 2000 and only 12.43% in the 2020s. Manhattanville University (1841), Ace Industries (1932) and Blackburn Manufacturing (1953) are among the oldest. These are established businesses adding content to a site they already run.
What is the ideal customer profile for DropInBlog?
The ideal DropInBlog customer is: Company Size: 1-10 employees, then 11-50, Location: United States, then UK, Australia, Canada, Founded: 2010-2019, a third before 2000, Industry: Retail and direct-selling manufacturers, Site platform: BigCommerce or Shopify store — based on our analysis of 310 enriched companies at TechnologyChecker.io.

When a trial or plan lapses, the embedded blog shows readers a notice that the trial has expired or is inactive. We found that notice on 22 of the 198 accounts we tested by ID.
What is the best blog app for Shopify?
We don't rank them, but we can show who uses DropInBlog. Shopify runs on 216 of the 570 DropInBlog domains on our cleaned count, and BigCommerce on 234. DropInBlog's Shopify App Store listing starts at $99 a month and was rated 4.4 from 199 reviews when we checked in October 2026. Bloggle is another blog app on Shopify's store.
Does Shopify have a blog option?
Yes. Shopify stores come with a built-in blog, and DropInBlog's Shopify listing pitches the app as its replacement, adding schema, product embeds and flexible URLs. In our crawl, Shopify runs on 216 of the 570 DropInBlog domains we chart, so over a third of DropInBlog sites chose the app over, or beside, Shopify's own blog.
Who owns DropInBlog?
Its founders. DropInBlog's company page says it was established in 2013 and launched in 2015, and describes it as bootstrapped, self-funded and privately owned. It names Jesse Schoberg as CEO and co-founder, Jason Mayfield as CTO and co-founder and Laura Lee as COO and co-founder. Our crawl puts DropInBlog on 570 domains in October 2026.
Why does a DropInBlog blog say the trial has expired?
Because the account behind it lapsed. DropInBlog's embed asks DropInBlog's service for posts, and an inactive account gets a notice that the trial has expired or is inactive instead. We asked that service about every account we could read: of 198 accounts tested by ID, 22 returned the notice and 16 no longer exist. We took their 44 domains out of this page's count.
Does DropInBlog work with BigCommerce?
Yes. DropInBlog's homepage offers a separate blog for every BigCommerce storefront, and its pricing page mentions multi-store discounts for BigCommerce channels. BigCommerce is the largest platform under DropInBlog in our crawl: it runs on 234 of the 570 domains we chart, ahead of Shopify's 216. HPG Brands' promotional-products sites are among them.
