Companies Using Smarter Click (intent.ly)
Smarter Click is the on-site conversion tag now sold as intent.ly: the company launched the intent.ly name for its US and APAC business in October 2020, and the tag's code now reads "Copyright intent.ly Global Ltd". It watches shoppers on an online store and shows overlays, in-page messages or basket reminders to the ones about to leave. Our October 2026 crawl finds a live tag on 1,331 domains, 685 of them matched to a company. Below is the list of companies that use Smarter Click, with size, country, industry and stack; it includes Wickes, Lloyds Pharmacy, Address Hotels, Farm Rio and DAMAC Hotels & Resorts.
The 1,331 leaves out 727 domains whose tag the vendor's own loader reports as switched off or unknown, about a third of everything carrying the script. Most users are small online stores: 50.34% of the domains run Shopify and 70.16% of matched companies have 50 or fewer staff, with the United States (217) and the United Kingdom (206) close together. 44.18% also run Awin, whose tag can switch intent.ly on. Smarter Click ranks 9th in Retargeting & Remarketing with a 1.26% share.

Smarter Click (intent.ly) Usage Statistics
Our chart has one point: 1,331 domains in October 2026, the first month counted without switched-off tags. Earlier totals included them, and they wouldn't make a clean trend anyway: the domains we crawl turn over every month, dead sites out and newly found ones in, and our detection widens over time. Exits we can count. 758 domains dropped the tag on at least one hostname since 16 March 2026, and 132 of those still run it on another hostname.

How We Counted Smarter Click Customers
A domain counts here if a page on it loads a script from smct.co or smct.io, or defines one of the tag's variables ($smcInstall, $smcT5, $smctData). Counted that way, our October 2026 crawl finds 2,061 live domains. We set aside 3 whose page title marks them as for sale or gambling. Every install calls the vendor's loader with the site's own token, so we read that token wherever our crawl or a browser visit showed it, 1,739 domains in all, and asked the loader about each one.
We removed 727 domains whose tag runs nothing. The loader answered "Tag is OFF" for 567, "TAG NOT FOUND" for 148 (10 of them had pasted the snippet with the token "undefined", and a few left a template placeholder in place of their token) and returned an empty reply for 12. No platform or agency account sits on more than 1% of the domains; the biggest shared tokens are one brand's own country or typo domains.
Every chart and table on this page uses the remaining 1,331. Of those, 1,012 got a working tag from the loader; on the other 319 a bot wall or consent banner hid the token from us, so we kept them. Because the chart starts with this cleaned count, it has a single October point; our category table shows the same cleaned 1,331. The 1,012 working tags belong to 663 accounts.
Expert Analysis: Smarter Click (intent.ly) Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

Smarter Click is a name in transition. The tag's own code now says "Copyright intent.ly Global Ltd", intent.ly calls itself a "performance-based shopper journey optimisation platform" on its about page, and smarterclick.com belongs to a Dubai company that white-labels intent.ly's technology. Under any name, the script does one job: it watches shoppers on an online store and shows overlays, in-page messages or basket-reminder emails to the ones about to leave. Our October 2026 crawl finds a live tag on 1,331 domains, and we matched 685 of them to a company. Getting there took a cut I didn't expect.
Two in five readable tags were switched off
Every install calls a loader with the site's own token, and the loader answers in one of four ways: a working tag, "Tag is OFF", "TAG NOT FOUND" or an empty reply. I read the token on 1,739 of the 2,058 domains left after our title filter and asked the loader about each one. 1,012 got a working tag. 567 got "Tag is OFF", 148 got "TAG NOT FOUND" (10 of them had pasted the snippet with the token "undefined") and 12 got nothing. That is 727 domains whose tag runs nothing, 41.8% of the ones I could read, and they are out of every number on this page. The other 319 kept their place because a bot wall or consent banner hid the token from us, not because it failed.
Sales signal: a Smarter Click list built from the script alone is about a third dead. Check that the tag still answers before you treat a store as an intent.ly client.
One reading, and the exits we can count
The chart shows one point, October 2026, because that's the first month counted without the dead tags. Earlier totals wouldn't make a clean trend anyway: the domains we crawl turn over every month, dead sites out and newly found ones in, and our detection widens as we go. Exits tell a clearer story. 758 domains dropped the tag on at least one hostname since we began tracking it on 16 March 2026, and 132 of those still run it elsewhere, which leaves 626 that removed it from every hostname we crawl.
"Smarter Click is a tag that stores leave in place long after the campaigns stop. Ask the loader, not the page source, before you count a customer." - Elif Arslan, CMO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: switched-off tags and the 626 full removals are both prospects for rival conversion tools. Those stores tried on-site re-engagement and switched this one off.
Small online stores, with some big names
The base is small business. Of 630 matched companies with a known size, 39.37% have 1 to 10 staff and 30.79% have 11 to 50, so 70.16% have 50 or fewer, and 6.66% have more than 1,000. Most are young: 41.96% were founded in the 2010s and 13.05% in the 2020s. The bigger names I checked in a browser, each with a live tag, include Wickes, Lloyds Pharmacy, Asda's mobile business, Address Hotels, DAMAC Hotels & Resorts, Frontier and H&T Pawnbrokers. Domains still overstate buyers: the 1,012 live tags belong to 663 accounts, and one sports-nutrition brand's account alone covers 16 country domains.
Sales signal: the typical account is a Shopify brand with a small team that buys conversion help on performance terms, so pitch on outcomes per order rather than seats or licences.
The UK, the US and a Brazilian pocket
The United States (217 matched companies) and the United Kingdom (206) are close, then Brazil (34), Italy (30) and Spain (19). Brazil is the surprise: Britânia, Philco, Lindt Brasil and Diesel's Brazilian store all load a live tag. Retail leads the industries at 17.25%, with fashion at 10.22% once you add the two apparel rows (7.37% and 2.85%), then Wellness and Fitness Services at 5.03%.
Sales signal: UK and US fashion and wellness stores are the core; Brazil is a smaller second market, led by home-appliance and fashion brands.
Bought through affiliate networks
We have no switching data for Smarter Click, and its category table compares it with ad-retargeting services such as RTB House (49,530 domains), which isn't how it is bought. The overlap that matters is with affiliate networks. 588 of the 1,331 domains also run Awin, 44.18%, and Awin's own write-up says intent.ly's technology sits in the Awin MasterTag, switched on with one click. Impact (82), Rakuten (66) and CJ (37) follow. Small retargeting tags share fewer sites: 44 run RTB House and 28 run Retargeted as well.
"Close to half of these stores also run Awin, whose MasterTag can switch intent.ly on with one click. The decision often sits with whoever runs the affiliate programme." - Elif Arslan, CMO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: talk to the affiliate manager, not the CRO team. On these sites a conversion tool arrives as a partner in the network, paid on performance.
The stack around it
Shares here are of the 1,331 domains on this page. Shopify runs on 50.34%, Magento on 5.71% and WooCommerce on 4.88%. Google Analytics covers 93.46%. The paid-media tags are DoubleClick Floodlight (33.43%), Microsoft Advertising (32.01%) and Pinterest Ads (22.61%). Consent is split three ways between Cookie Control (8.34%), Cookiebot (8.11%) and OneTrust (6.69%).
Sales signal: Pinterest on more than one site in five marks these out as visual, consumer brands. Creative and social-commerce tools fit this list.
What the vendor says, and what we see
intent.ly says it has helped "thousands of global brands" and partners with more than 150 affiliate networks and agencies. Our count is 1,331 live domains and 663 live accounts, and it would have been 2,058 if we had trusted the script. The vendor publishes no price list; its model is performance-based, so cost depends on the deal.
Sales signal: because the vendor is paid on results, its clients compare tools on revenue share. Bring numbers per order.
Key takeaways
