Companies Using Emotive

Our October 2026 crawl finds Emotive on 685 domains, and nearly all of them are Shopify stores: Shopify runs on 95.33% of them and Klaviyo on 63.94%. Emotive sells conversational SMS, two-way text campaigns that come with strategists and copywriters, and its script on a store runs the sign-up forms and tracking. Below is the list of companies that use Emotive, with size, country and industry. It includes Stash Tea, PB2 Foods, Boy Smells, OwlCrate, Nature Republic USA and Landry's, on its merchandise shop.

The 685 leaves out 54 domains that carry Emotive's tag without a working install: Emotive's own sites, scripts with no brand ID, closed stores, dead domains and sites that have since taken it off. On that count Emotive is 4th of the 10 tools we track in SMS Marketing, with a 1.87% share, behind Postscript, Attentive and Zalo and narrowly ahead of CarcodeSMS. Privy has owned it since July 2025. Its customers are small and North American: 92.13% of matched companies have 50 or fewer staff, and 376 of the 395 we could place are in the United States or Canada.

Emotive Usage Statistics

Emotive's chart starts in October 2026 with 685 domains, the first month counted after removing the 54 dead and inert installs described below. Monthly counts aren't a like-for-like series anyway: the set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and new ones added, and the signals we detect Emotive with widen over time. Since we began tracking it on 16 March 2026, 242 domains have dropped Emotive on at least one hostname. 31 of those still run it on another, so 211 left it entirely.

What is Emotive's market share? 1.87% of SMS Marketing, 4th of the 10 tools we track there, based on our October 2026 crawl at TechnologyChecker.io. Two vendors hold most of the category: Postscript has 46.93% (17,227 domains) and Attentive 35.81% (13,145), with Zalo third. Emotive's 685 working installs keep it 4th, narrowly ahead of CarcodeSMS, a texting widget for car dealers with a different buyer, and ahead of Yotpo SMSBump (625), whose code is still on stores that Yotpo stopped serving at the end of 2025.

Emotive Customers by Company Size & Age

What size companies use Emotive? Small ones. 60.15% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 31.98% have 11 to 50, so 92.13% have 50 or fewer. That's less micro than Postscript's profile, where 70.84% sit in the smallest band, and smaller than Attentive's (39.69%). Only two companies here have more than 500 staff: Nature Republic USA, and Landry's, the Houston restaurant and hospitality group, which runs Emotive on its merchandise shop, shop.landrysinc.com.

Company Size Distribution

Company Age (Founded Decade)

The largest group of matched companies was founded in the 2010s (62.24%), then the 2000s (13.28%). Just 9.13% date from the 2020s, against 24.45% on Postscript's profile, so Emotive's stores are mostly brands with about a decade of trading behind them rather than this decade's launches. 15.35% were founded before 2000, including Earthbar (1971) and Stash Tea (1972).

What Industries Use Emotive the Most?

Retail leads at 16.72%, then Retail Apparel and Fashion (12.61%), Manufacturing (8.21%) and Wellness and Fitness Services (5.57%), based on our enriched company data. Read the labels as product types. LinkedIn files food and drink under three names, and together they cover 33 of the 341 companies with an industry, or 9.68%; personal care manufacturing adds 4.69%. No software or business-services label reaches the top ten. These are consumer brands selling their own products.

Emotive Alternatives & Competitors

Postscript and Attentive lead SMS Marketing, and on Emotive's stores they're more often a second SMS tool than a replacement. 48 Emotive domains also run Postscript today, out of 68 ever seen with both, and 42 run Attentive, out of 61. About seven in ten of those domains still run both, and Attentive's page shows moves both ways: 11 domains from Emotive to Attentive and 11 the other way. CarcodeSMS, just behind Emotive in the table, is a dealer texting widget with a different buyer, and Yotpo SMSBump's 625 are stores still carrying code from a product Yotpo shut at the end of December 2025.

Emotive's own switching data shows one flow: 20 domains dropped Yotpo SMSBump and kept Emotive in the last 90 days, 5 of them in the last 30. Read it as cleanup, not a win. Yotpo said in August 2025 it would close its SMS product at the end of December 2025, and on every one of these domains Emotive was installed before the SMSBump code came off. Several are sister domains, including three from one brand.

How We Counted Emotive Customers

A domain counts here if a page on it loads Emotive's script from emotivecdn.io or defines emotivePopupInitializing, a variable name our rule also looks for. The script is Emotive's pop-up and sign-up code, popup.js, and its address carries the store's Emotive brand ID. On Shopify it usually arrives as an app script tag in the store's own HTML, which Shopify removes when the app is uninstalled.

Before computing anything, we fetched every live hostname of the 739 domains with the tag in our index, on 16 October 2026, and removed 54 that carry it without a working install:

  • 3 are Emotive's own: emotive.io and two entries for its app at emotiveapp.co
  • 9 load the script with a blank brand ID, so it starts and does nothing
  • 20 are closed Shopify stores: 16 password pages and 4 "Store unavailable" pages
  • 12 are dead, parked or for sale, and one now redirects to a casino
  • 10 are live sites that no longer load Emotive

Every chart and table on this page uses the remaining 685. 681 of them loaded Emotive with a brand ID on a working store, under 490 different IDs; the other four are three bot walls and an alias of a store we already count. Counted raw, before this correction, our market-share data puts Emotive at 774 domains and 2.11%. We couldn't ask Emotive which accounts are still paying: its pop-up endpoint returns the same empty list for any brand ID without a live sign-up form, including one we made up.

Expert Analysis: Emotive Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

Sophie Clarke
Sophie ClarkeProduct Marketing Manager, TechnologyChecker

I expected Emotive to look like a smaller Postscript, and in our October 2026 crawl the stores do: Shopify, small, mostly American. What's different is how many of its domains still have a working install. A domain counts here when its pages load Emotive's script from emotivecdn.io or define emotivePopupInitializing, a variable name our rule also looks for. 739 domains carry that tag. I fetched every one, and 685 have a working install; 404 of those are matched to a company, and Emotive is 4th of 10 in SMS Marketing with 1.87%.

One brand ID per merchant

Emotive's script address carries the store's brand ID, and on Shopify the store's shop name too, so we can count accounts as well as domains. On 16 October 2026, 681 of the 685 loaded Emotive with a brand ID on a working store, under 490 different IDs, about 1.4 domains per account. 127 IDs sit on two or more domains, nearly always one store's spelling variants and country sites; the largest covers 13. No ID is shared by unrelated stores, so no agency or platform is running Emotive under its own account. 639 of the 681 load it through a Shopify script tag, and Shopify removes an app's script tags automatically when the app is uninstalled, so those stores still have Emotive installed.

Sales signal: dedupe an Emotive list by brand ID or root store before you count accounts. About 490 merchants sit behind the 685 domains.

What we took out

The 54 domains removed from the count all carry Emotive's tag, but none has a working install. Nine load the script with a blank brand ID, so it starts and does nothing, and four of those are one hair-care brand's domains. Twenty are closed Shopify stores, among them six domains of one vape retailer behind a single password page. Twelve are dead, parked or for sale. Ten are live sites that have taken Emotive off since our previous visit, and three are Emotive's own. I also queried Emotive's pop-up endpoint directly. It returns the same empty list for any brand ID without a live sign-up form, including one I made up, so it can't tell you whether an account is still paying. Only 22 of the 482 IDs we checked returned a live form.

Sales signal: the closed stores and blank installs aren't prospects for anyone. The ten sites that removed Emotive recently are, because they chose to stop.

A short chart

The usage chart starts in October 2026, the first month on the corrected count, at 685 domains. Month-to-month counts wouldn't be like for like in any case: the domains we crawl turn over every month as dead sites drop out and new ones are found, and the signals we detect Emotive with widen over time. Since tracking began on 16 March 2026, 242 domains dropped Emotive on at least one hostname; 31 still run it on another, leaving 211 that left it entirely. Some drops are misses rather than exits. One of Emotive's own case-study brands shows as a drop in our records, yet its homepage loaded Emotive when I checked.

"Emotive's tag sits on 739 domains, but the working installs come down to about 490 merchants. That's the number a sales team should plan around." - Sophie Clarke, Product Marketing Manager at TechnologyChecker.io

Sales signal: treat Emotive as a small, settled pool. Nothing here supports pitching it internally as a fast-growing segment.

Who the customers are

60.15% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 31.98% have 11 to 50. Postscript's profile is more micro, with 70.84% in the smallest band. They're older, though. Only 9.13% were founded in the 2020s, against 24.45% of Postscript's, and 62.24% date from the 2010s. Two companies have more than 500 staff: Nature Republic USA, the US store of the Korean skincare brand, and Landry's, which runs it on its merchandise shop, shop.landrysinc.com. Emotive's case-study page names 19 brands. Four of them load Emotive today, two have dropped it, and four don't load it at all.

Sales signal: these are small brands with about a decade of trading, buying a managed service with strategists and copywriters. Pitch done-for-you help, not another dashboard.

North America and consumer brands

The United States has 335 of the 395 companies we could place and Canada 41, so 95.19% are in one or the other. Canada's 10.38% is nearly twice its share on Postscript's profile (5.63%), and the Canadian names include OwlCrate, Judith & Charles and Cowbell Brewing. The industry labels describe consumer goods throughout: Retail 16.72%, Retail Apparel and Fashion 12.61%, Manufacturing 8.21% and Wellness and Fitness Services 5.57%. LinkedIn's three food and drink labels add up to 33 companies, 9.68% of the 341 with an industry.

Sales signal: for a Canadian agency or app developer, Emotive's list is denser in Canadian direct-to-consumer brands than Postscript's.

Switching and overlap

The clearest switching flow on Emotive's own count: 20 domains dropped Yotpo SMSBump and kept Emotive in the last 90 days. Emotive didn't win those stores from Yotpo. Yotpo closed its SMS product at the end of December 2025, and on every one of those domains Emotive was installed before the SMSBump code came off, so the stores were deleting dead code. Several are sister domains, including three from one brand. The bigger rivals overlap instead. 48 Emotive domains run Postscript today, out of 68 ever seen with both, and 42 run Attentive, out of 61.

"About seven in ten stores that have run Emotive beside Postscript or Attentive still run both. For most of them, dropping one is a conversation nobody has had yet." - Sophie Clarke, Product Marketing Manager at TechnologyChecker.io

Sales signal: a store running two SMS tools is a consolidation conversation. For Postscript and Attentive sellers, those 48 and 42 domains are the warmest part of this list.

The stack around it

Across the 685 domains, Shopify runs on 95.33% and Google Analytics on 86.86%. Email is where Emotive stores differ. Klaviyo is on 63.94%, against 45.32% on Postscript's domains, and MailChimp is on 20%. Privy, which bought Emotive in July 2025, is on 14.6%, against 5.23% on Postscript's. Instafeed (19.71%), Blotout EdgeTag (15.04%) and Hextom (12.12%) fill out the app list. Our Shopify analytics report shows how far ahead of other Shopify apps Klaviyo is.

Sales signal: most Emotive stores send email from Klaviyo and texts from Emotive. Klaviyo's own SMS is the obvious consolidation pitch. Privy, Emotive's owner, sells email and SMS as one bundle, but its own Shopify app was off the App Store when we checked on 30 October 2026.

Price and reviews

Emotive's pricing page (checked 16 October 2026) lists Starter at $100 a month plus $0.015 per SMS, Pro at $200 plus $0.01, Advanced at $300 plus $0.008 with a $400 minimum spend, and custom Enterprise pricing for lists above 10,000. Its 5x ROI guarantee needs a site with at least 10,000 monthly unique visits. The Shopify app has a 4.0 rating from 94 reviews, with 79% at five stars and 15% at one. The one-star reviews are mostly about billing and contracts: carrier fees, minimum spend and 12-month terms that renew automatically.

Sales signal: contract end dates matter here. A merchant on an annual term is a better prospect near renewal than mid-contract.

Key takeaways

What does Emotive do?

Emotive sells SMS marketing to online stores, built around two-way conversations: texts customers can reply to, plus automated flows, sign-up forms and attribution. Paid plans add people, such as a dedicated copywriter on Pro. How much does Emotive SMS cost?

Emotive's pricing page lists four SMS plans: Starter at $100 a month plus 1.5 cents per SMS, Pro at $200 plus 1 cent, Advanced at $300 plus 0.8 cents with a $400 minimum spend, and custom Enterprise pricing for lists above 10,000. Starter is a monthly contract with no minimum spend. The Shopify app is free to install. Checked 16 October 2026.

Its Shopify app has a 4.0 rating from 94 reviews, with 79% at five stars and 15% at one. The one-star reviews are mostly about billing and contracts, such as carrier fees, minimum spend and renewals.

Who owns Emotive?

Privy does. Privy announced on 8 July 2025 that it had acquired Emotive, saying the combined business would serve more than 10,000 ecommerce merchants with email and SMS. Privy itself belonged to Attentive until it was divested in 2023. Emotive's Shopify app now lists its developer as Bloom Digital By Privy, and 14.6% of Emotive domains also run Privy.

Postscript, by a wide margin: 17,227 domains in our October 2026 crawl against Emotive's 685. Are Yotpo SMSBump stores switching to Emotive?

Not in a meaningful number. 20 domains dropped SMSBump and kept Emotive in the last 90 days, but Emotive was installed on all of them before the SMSBump code came off.
