Our October 2026 crawl found EventOn's stylesheet on 12,401 domains, 1st of the 57 technologies in our Event & Ticket Booking table with a 45.91% share. This is the list of companies that use EventOn, the WordPress events-calendar plugin by Ashan Perera: churches, charities, sports clubs, schools and universities posting their event calendars, among them Concentrix, the University of St Andrews, Academy of Art University and Frost & Sullivan's careers site.

Most of these sites run the paid build. Of the 10,777 homepages we fetched that load the stylesheet, 8,450 load it from the paid plugin's folder and 1,731 from EventON Lite, the free WordPress.org version; 3,160 also load at least one paid add-on. WordPress runs on 99.71% of the domains. Europe outnumbers the US among matched companies, though the US is the largest single country.

EventOn Usage Statistics

How many websites use EventOn? 12,401 domains in October 2026, the chart's last point, against 10,775 in June. Most of that rise came between June and July and reflects our side, not a buying wave: the set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and new ones added, and our detection widens over time. Exits we can count: 1,606 domains dropped EventOn since tracking began in March 2026, and 196 of those still run it on another hostname. When we fetched every homepage in October, 407 of 12,379 (3.29%) were dead, parked or showing an error page.

List of Companies Using EventOn

Who uses EventOn? This list of companies that use EventOn names 50 of the 8,933 EventOn domains we matched to a company. We fetched every row in October 2026 and each still loads EventOn; we dropped 34 earlier candidates, 22 whose pages didn't load it, blocked us or no longer answered, and 12 whose company record named a faculty, a subsidiary or another organisation instead of the site's owner. Many large organisations run EventOn on one subdomain, such as events.st-andrews.ac.uk or news.csudh.edu, so the buyer is usually one department.

EventOn Market Share Among Event & Ticket Booking

What is EventOn's market share? 45.91% of Event & Ticket Booking, 1st of 57 technologies by domain count at TechnologyChecker.io, with 12,401 domains. That's 3.9 times the next row, EventsCalendar.co (3,155), but the two rarely meet: EventsCalendar.co is a widget sold mostly to Shopify stores, while EventOn is a WordPress plugin. Tickera (1,249) is the other WordPress product in the top five, and it sells tickets rather than listing events.

Company Age (Founded Decade)

The largest group was founded in the 2010s (33.93%), with the 2000s at 18.52% and the 1990s at 11.69%. Expert Analysis: EventOn Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

Sophie Clarke
Sophie ClarkeProduct Marketing Manager, TechnologyChecker

EventOn tops our Event & Ticket Booking table by a wide margin, so the useful question for a seller is what kind of lead an EventOn site is. As of our October 2026 crawl, EventOn's stylesheet loads on 12,401 domains, and we matched 8,933 to a company. I fetched the homepages of all 12,379 domains in our cleaned list to split paid from free, count add-ons and find dead sites, then checked the 50 companies below one by one.

1. Growth trajectory

The chart runs from 10,775 domains in June to 12,401 in October, with most of the rise between June and July. That step is ours: the domains we crawl turn over every month, with dead sites leaving and new ones arriving, and our detection widens over time. From July it rises only slowly, from 11,982 to 12,401. Exits are steady, 1,606 domains since March 2026, of which 196 still run EventOn on another hostname. My fetch found 407 of 12,379 homepages (3.29%) dead or broken: 82 domains no longer resolve, 202 didn't answer on two tries, and 123 show error, parked, coming-soon or suspended pages.

"EventOn's line is flat, and a seller can live with that: four in five of these sites run the paid build, and 3,160 also load a paid add-on." - Sophie Clarke, Product Marketing Manager at TechnologyChecker.io

Sales Signal: A mature, flat base. Sell to it on what it already does, publishing events, not on expansion.

2. Paid, free and add-ons

Of the 10,777 homepages that load EventOn's stylesheet, 8,450 load it from the paid plugin's folder and 1,731 (16.06%) from EventON Lite, the free WordPress.org build; the rest hide the path behind a caching plugin or use a renamed folder. 3,160 load at least one paid add-on. The most common are Full Cal (1,293), Event Lists (1,117), Tickets (494) and RSVP (440). Add-ons only show when they load files on the homepage, so those are floors.

Sales Signal: The 3,160 add-on sites are the most invested: they run at least one paid add-on. Tickets and RSVP users take registrations, which makes them the best fit for payments, CRM and email tools.

3. Customer profile

62.79% of matched companies have 1 to 10 employees and 22.19% have 11 to 50. The age profile has a long tail: 10.63% were founded before 1960. The verified names show where large organisations use it: the University of St Andrews on its events site, CSU Dominguez Hills on its news site, Frost & Sullivan on its careers pages, Altec on a customer portal. Concentrix and Celerion run it on their main domains. The vendor publishes no customer list I could fetch, so each name is confirmed by its own page. One-operator fleets are small: Altec's 11 used-equipment and dealer domains are among the largest, and no other owner has more than 11, so no single owner moves the count.

Sales Signal: At a big organisation, the EventOn owner is the events, alumni or communications team, not IT. Find the subdomain first.

4. Industry and geography

No industry reaches 8%. Non-profits lead at 7.01%, then civic and social groups (4.24%), spectator sports (4.04%) and religious institutions (3.39%). The country table is the surprise: the US has 2,639 matched companies, but the European countries listed add up to 3,682, led by Germany (909), the UK (623), Spain (553) and France (531).

Sales Signal: Churches, clubs and associations in Germany, Spain and France are a large, under-served list. Localise the pitch; many of these calendars aren't in English.

5. Switching and overlaps

We publish no switching table for EventOn. The only flow worth checking was with Etix, and it's too small: 8 domains run both today. The 1,606 exits look like sites being rebuilt or closing rather than moving to a rival calendar. EventOn's closest rival, The Events Calendar, isn't in our category table, so a switch to it wouldn't show as a flow.

"A WordPress calendar changes when the website is rebuilt. Watch the agencies doing the rebuilds, not the calendar." - Sophie Clarke, Product Marketing Manager at TechnologyChecker.io

Sales Signal: For a rival plugin, the moment is a site redesign. For a WordPress agency, EventOn sites on old page builders are rebuild candidates.

6. Technology ecosystem

WordPress is on 99.71% of 12,381 of our 12,401 EventOn domains, with Elementor on 29.08% and Divi on 13.9%. WooCommerce runs on 22.91%, more than the Tickets add-on alone explains, so many EventOn sites also sell something. Two libraries come with the plugin: Handlebars (85.66%) and Moment.js (73.95%) load with EventOn's calendar, which inflates both libraries' counts across the web. Email tools are thin: Mailchimp 6.04%, Brevo 2.04%.

Sales Signal: Email and CRM are the gap. These organisations run events every week and few show an email platform on the page.

7. Pricing and plan signals

The 30 latest WordPress.org reviews we read praise quick support and a feature-rich, attractive calendar; the most common complaint is that updates break things. For pricing, I read the vendor's own terms. myeventon.com sells the full plugin for $60 per site, paid once, with add-ons billed separately as subscriptions. EventON Lite lists 6,000+ active installations, and the vendor claims more than 63,000 CodeCanyon downloads since 2011. Our 8,450 paid-folder homepages are the live share of those we can see.

Sales Signal: A $60 one-time buyer is price-sensitive. Pitch add-on value or time saved, not a big platform.

Key takeaways

  1. 12,401 domains, 1st of 57 in Event & Ticket Booking with a 45.91% share.
  2. About four in five homepages run the paid plugin; 3,160 also load paid add-ons.
  3. The base is small and European-heavy: 62.79% have 1 to 10 staff; Europe outnumbers the US.
  4. Non-profits, clubs, churches and universities dominate; no industry reaches 8%.
  5. The closest rival, The Events Calendar, isn't in this table, so switching doesn't show up.

Sales applications

Outreach template: "Your WordPress site runs EventOn with [add-on]. Most organisations taking RSVPs that way lose the follow-up. Here's how [product] turns sign-ups into attendees and members."

Targeting strategy: On TechnologyChecker.io, filter EventOn sites to Non-profit, Religious Institutions and Civic and Social Organizations, then to Germany, Spain or France for less-contacted lists.

Competitive angle: For ticket sales, compare against Tickera on WordPress and Eventbrite off it.

There is a free version, EventON Lite, on WordPress.org with 6,000+ active installations. The full plugin costs $60 for one site, paid once, and add-ons such as Tickets and RSVP are sold separately as subscriptions, per myeventon.com in October 2026. Of the EventOn homepages we fetched, 16.06% ran Lite and most of the rest ran the paid plugin.

How much does EventOn cost?

EventOn's full version is $60 for a single site, a one-time licence with lifetime updates and a year of support, according to myeventon.com in October 2026. Multi-site licences and add-ons cost extra, and add-ons are billed as subscriptions. Paid add-ons are common: 3,160 of the 10,777 EventOn homepages we fetched loaded at least one.

Is there a free event calendar plugin for WordPress?

Yes, several, including EventON Lite, the free build of EventOn, which WordPress.org lists at 6,000+ active installations. In our October 2026 fetch, 1,731 of 10,777 homepages carrying EventOn's stylesheet loaded it from Lite's folder. The free build covers the basic calendar; tickets, RSVP and other views need the paid plugin and add-ons.

What is the best event calendar plugin for WordPress?

We can't rate quality, only reach. EventOn is the largest calendar plugin in our Event & Ticket Booking table, on 12,401 domains, and The Events Calendar isn't tracked there, so we can't compare the two. Within EventOn's base, the most-loaded paid add-ons are the full-calendar view, event lists, tickets and RSVP.

Does EventOn work with WooCommerce?

Yes. EventOn's paid Tickets add-on sells event tickets through WooCommerce, and WooCommerce runs on 22.91% of our cleaned EventOn domains. The Tickets add-on itself loaded on 494 of the 10,777 EventOn homepages we fetched in October 2026, and RSVP on 440, so most EventOn sites list events without selling tickets.

Which EventOn add-ons are most popular?

By homepages loading them in our October 2026 fetch: Full Cal (1,293), Event Lists (1,117), Tickets (494), RSVP (440), Event Slider (295), Weekly View (260) and Daily View (252), out of 10,777 EventOn homepages. Add-ons only show where they load assets on the homepage, so these counts are a floor, not a total.

Is EventOn still being updated?

It is, going by the vendor's own release dates. When we checked in October 2026, myeventon.com listed version 5.1.1 of the full plugin, last updated 7 October 2026, and gave its original release date as 21 December 2011. EventON Lite on WordPress.org was at version 2.5.11 on 1 November 2026. A one-time licence includes lifetime plugin updates, per the vendor. In October 2026 a SQL injection flaw was disclosed in the paid Subscriber add-on, version 1.4.5 and earlier (CVE-2026-93300); sites using that add-on should check for a fix.
