Companies Using LiteSpeed Cache
Our October 2026 crawl finds 1,560,073 domains with a LiteSpeed Cache signal: an x-litespeed-cache header from the page cache built into LiteSpeed's web server, LiteSpeed's x-turbo-charged-by banner, or the WordPress plugin's own files. The server behind those headers usually belongs to a hosting company. When we re-requested a random 600 on 16 October 2026, 180 (30.00%) were on Hostinger, by network or by Hostinger's own response headers, 47 were on Namecheap's network and 133 sat behind Cloudflare with the host hidden. Below is the list of companies that use LiteSpeed Cache, with size, country, industry and stack.
Most of the count is the WordPress plugin working with a LiteSpeed host. 377 of the 600 sent the cache header, and 353 of those pages ended with the plugin's "Page cached by LiteSpeed Cache" note. Another 132 (22.00%) sent only the server banner, which names the web server and says nothing about caching. Sweco, Oceaneering, Tendam and UofL Health all served cached pages that day.
LiteSpeed Cache ranks 1st of 12 rows in Caching with 55.18%. The rows count different layers: a server cache here, WordPress plugins such as WP Rocket, and mostly CDN and hosting edges in Varnish's row. So the share compares signals, not like-for-like products.

LiteSpeed Cache Usage Statistics
LiteSpeed Cache reads 1,123,405 domains in June 2026, 1,367,281 in July, 1,438,019 in August, 1,538,024 in September and 1,560,073 in October. That climb says more about our crawl than about LiteSpeed. The set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and newly found ones added, and our detection signals widen over time, so the line isn't a same-domain series. Since we began tracking on 16 March 2026, 335,299 domains dropped it on at least one hostname; in a 16 October check, 28,587 of the domains that had dropped it still sent it from another hostname.

Which Countries Use LiteSpeed Cache the Most?
Which countries use LiteSpeed Cache the most? The United States has the most matched companies, 131,503, then the United Kingdom (74,147), India (72,008) and Brazil (63,893). India, Brazil, Turkey (23,987), Colombia (13,701) and Pakistan (10,087) together hold 183,676, more than the US. That follows the hosts more than the product: Hostinger, the largest network in our sample, has India as its largest market on its TechnologyChecker.io profile. These figures cover the 811,110 domains we matched to a company.
Share of the 811,110 LiteSpeed Cache domains we matched to a company record — 52.0% of the 1,560,073 we detect. Top 15 countries shown, so these do not sum to 100%. Domains with no matching company record are not represented here and skew small and independent.
LiteSpeed Cache Market Share Among Caching
What is LiteSpeed Cache's market share? 55.18% of Caching, 1st of the 12 technologies we track there at TechnologyChecker.io, counting domains. WP Rocket is 2nd with 718,843 domains (25.43%) and Varnish 3rd with 455,550 (16.11%). Treat the lead with some care: in a random 600 domains, 132 (22.00%) matched only on LiteSpeed's server banner, which a host sends whether or not a page is cached. Varnish's row, for its part, is mostly CDN and hosting edges.
Top Competitors by Market Share
LiteSpeed Cache Customers by Company Size & Age
What size companies use LiteSpeed Cache? Mostly very small ones. 66.28% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees (495,611) and 22.71% have 11 to 50, the profile of shared WordPress hosting. 4,993 have more than 1,000 staff. Sweco, Oceaneering and Tendam run it on their main domains; Inserm runs it on its press room, CUNY on its Academic Commons and Agnico Eagle on its Canadian Malartic mine site.
Company Size Distribution
Company Age (Founded Decade)
The largest group of matched companies was founded in the 2010s (41.35%), and the 2020s add 25.52%, so two in three were founded in 2010 or later. Only 418,624 of the 811,110 list a founding year, so the chart describes the better documented half of the base. A young, small base is what shared hosting looks like, where the LiteSpeed server comes with the plan.
What Industries Use LiteSpeed Cache the Most?
IT Services and IT Consulting leads at 4.37%, then Construction (4.05%), Advertising Services (3.85%), Business Consulting and Services (3.35%) and Retail (3.25%), based on our enriched company data. No industry passes 4.37%. Advertising Services in third place fits a list with many web and marketing agencies on it, the firms that build WordPress sites for clients.
Engineering and construction companies using LiteSpeed Cache include Sweco, ENKA and JBM Group, all on their main sites. Universities on LiteSpeed Cache form a cluster of their own: CUNY, UQAM, Universitas Diponegoro, Universitas Airlangga and PUCRS, mostly on department or research subdomains. Hospitals using LiteSpeed Cache include UofL Health and Saudi German Health's Jeddah site, based on our enriched company data.
LiteSpeed Cache Alternatives & Competitors
Most of this table is WordPress plugins, counted by what they write into a site's pages or headers: WP Rocket (718,843 domains, 25.43%), NitroPack (36,257, by its generator tag) and W3 Total Cache (22,193, by a header an admin has to switch on). Varnish (455,550) is a proxy header that Fastly's edge and One.com's hosting send for their customers. LiteSpeed Cache is a server cache with a plugin, and plugin rivals can sit on top of it: 33,618 domains run LiteSpeed Cache and WP Rocket today, and 5,900 run it with NitroPack.

Expert Analysis: LiteSpeed Cache Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

I run the crawler that stores the response headers of every domain we visit, and LiteSpeed Cache is a row I'd split before anyone prospects from it. Our October 2026 crawl counts 1,560,073 domains, 1st of 12 in Caching with 55.18%, and 811,110 matched to a company. On 16 October 2026 I re-requested a random 600 domains from the clean set, read every header and page, and resolved each address to its network.
Three signals, two products
A domain counts when it sends x-litespeed-cache, sends x-turbo-charged-by: LiteSpeed, sets the plugin's litespeed_docref variable or loads files from the plugin's folder. The first is the server's cache: LiteSpeed's developer docs say the server inserts it when it serves from cache. The second only names the server. In the sample, 377 domains (62.83%) sent the cache header, 132 (22.00%) sent only the server banner, 9 loaded the plugin's files with no LiteSpeed header and 82 showed nothing on the day. Counted by clause, 443 of the 518 that still matched did so on a header alone, and 75 (14.48%) loaded the plugin's files.
Even so, the cache header is mostly the plugin's doing: 353 of the 377 cached pages ended with its "Page cached by LiteSpeed Cache" comment, and 370 were WordPress. Per its WordPress.org page, the plugin tells the server's LSCache what to store and when to purge it, and that cache is a LiteSpeed exclusive feature.
Sales signal: filter on the cache header, not the banner. A banner-only domain runs LiteSpeed's server; it hasn't shown you a page cache.
The host writes most of the headers
Hostinger is the largest group: 180 of 600 (30.00%), on its network or sending its own platform and hcdn headers, and 157 of those returned the cache header. 133 sat behind Cloudflare, where the host is hidden. Namecheap's network held 47, and 39 of them sent only the banner. After that comes a long tail of networks: Amazon 16, OVH 14, Synergy Wholesale 9, Turkey's GNET 8, Hetzner 7, Krystal 6, A2 Hosting 5.
"Nearly a third of this list is Hostinger's servers caching WordPress for their customers, and a fifth is LiteSpeed announcing itself with no cache in sight. Very few of these site owners went looking for a caching product." - David Thomson, CTO at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: for most domains the cache came with the hosting plan. Hosting and migration offers reach these owners; a rival caching product mostly doesn't.
How much of it is live
518 of the 600 (86.33%) still matched on 16 October. 31 didn't answer and 18 sat behind bot checks. 21 showed a placeholder or error page, 7 now serve gambling pages and the other 5 showed no LiteSpeed signal. Our title census of the whole clean set finds 33,407 domains (2.20%) whose last crawled page was a coming-soon or maintenance notice, an error, a directory listing or WordPress's default "My Blog". That's under the level where we remove a fleet, so they stay in the count. The monthly line rose from 1,123,405 in June to 1,560,073 in October, partly because the domains we crawl turn over each month and our detection widens. 335,299 domains dropped the signal on a hostname since 16 March 2026.
Sales signal: expect about one domain in seven to be unreachable, dead or not matching by the time you call.
Who the site owners are
66.28% of sized companies have 1 to 10 staff, 41.35% were founded in the 2010s and the top industry, IT services, holds only 4.37%. The US leads with 131,503 matched companies, but India, Brazil, Turkey, Colombia and Pakistan add up to 183,676. The large names split two ways. Sweco, Oceaneering, Tendam and UofL Health cache their main sites; Inserm, CUNY, UQAM and Agnico Eagle run it on one subdomain, usually a WordPress site a department set up.
Sales signal: in an enterprise row, find the subdomain. The buyer is the team behind that site.
Versions and the patch gap
364 sampled sites printed a plugin version. 335 (92.03%) ran a 7.x release and 236 ran 7.9, all of them older than 7.9.2, the security release LiteSpeed put out on 20 October 2026. 21 (5.77%) ran 6.3.0.1 or older, the range NIST lists for CVE-2024-28000, an unauthenticated privilege-escalation flaw scored 9.8 and published in August 2024. One ran a 1.8 release.
Sales signal: a version this old means nobody updates the site. Maintenance and security services have a clear opening there.
Overlap with other caches
We don't publish switching rows for this page; the overlaps are coexistence. 33,618 domains run LiteSpeed Cache and WP Rocket today, 5,900 NitroPack, 1,518 SpeedyCache, 1,471 Varnish and 790 W3 Total Cache. A plugin on top of a LiteSpeed host is common, because the server cache and the plugin's optimisation features do different jobs.
"Thirty-three thousand sites run LiteSpeed Cache and WP Rocket together. That's two layers on one site, not a migration in progress." - David Thomson, CTO at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: a performance plugin can sell into this base without replacing anything. Pitch the gap the server cache leaves, not a swap.
The stack around it
Across 1,515,245 clean domains, WordPress shows on 85.42%, LiteSpeed's server on 75.31%, PHP on 56.08% and Elementor on 39.68%. Cloudflare fronts 33.83%. Hostinger appears on 32.88% and its CDN on 16.65%. Divi runs on 5.44%.
Sales signal: this is the WordPress page-builder market on budget hosting. Themes, builders, forms and agency services fit it.
What it costs
The plugin is free: version 7.9.2, 7+ million active installations on WordPress.org when I read it on 1 November 2026. The server is the paid part when there is one. LiteSpeed's pricing page lists its Web Server from $0 a month, and OpenLiteSpeed is the open-source edition. On shared hosting that cost sits with the host.
Key takeaways
1. 1,560,073 domains, 55.18% of Caching; 86.33% of a 600-domain sample still matched on 16 October 2026.
2. Hostinger hosts 30.00% of the sample, Namecheap's network 7.83%.
3. 22.00% of the sample sent only LiteSpeed's server banner, a header that names the server and nothing more.
4. 66.28% of sized companies have 1 to 10 staff.
5. 5.77% of version-printing sites run a plugin release covered by CVE-2024-28000, and every sampled version predates the 7.9.2 security release of 20 October 2026.
How to use this list
Filter to the cache header, then split by host. Hostinger and Namecheap customers bought a hosting plan, and so did many of the rest, which include other shared hosts and 133 domains whose host Cloudflare hides. The enterprise subdomains are the likeliest to be a team's own choice. Compare with WP Rocket for the plugin side, and see our guide to how we detect technologies for what a header rule can and can't tell you. The full list of 1,560,073 domains, with 811,110 matched companies, is on TechnologyChecker.io.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who uses LiteSpeed Cache?
Mostly small businesses with WordPress sites on LiteSpeed hosting. Of a random 600 domains we re-requested on 16 October 2026, 30.00% were on Hostinger and 7.83% on Namecheap's network, and 66.28% of matched companies have 1 to 10 staff. Larger organisations include Sweco, Oceaneering, Tendam and UofL Health on their main sites, and Inserm and CUNY on subdomains.
How many customers does LiteSpeed Cache have?
Our October 2026 crawl counts 1,560,073 domains with a LiteSpeed Cache signal, 811,110 of them matched to a company. They are domains, not paying customers: the plugin is free, and 132 of a random 600 matched only on LiteSpeed's server banner. WordPress.org lists the plugin at 7+ million active installations, read on 16 October 2026.
What is LiteSpeed Cache's market share?
55.18% of Caching at TechnologyChecker.io, 1st of 12 technologies, ahead of WP Rocket (25.43%) and Varnish (16.11%). The rows count different signals: a server cache header and banner here, plugin files for WP Rocket, CDN and hosting edges for Varnish. So the share compares how often each signal appears, not which product site owners chose.
What are the best alternatives to LiteSpeed Cache?
It depends on the server. On a LiteSpeed host the plugin is the natural fit, because the cache runs inside the server. On other servers, WordPress sites use plugins such as WP Rocket (718,843 domains in our crawl), NitroPack (36,257) or W3 Total Cache (22,193), or a cache in front of the server such as Varnish or a CDN.
Which countries use LiteSpeed Cache the most?

What does LiteSpeed Cache do?
It caches whole WordPress pages inside the web server. Per its WordPress.org page, the plugin tells LiteSpeed's built-in page cache (LSCache) which pages can be cached, for how long, and when to purge them. It also bundles general features, such as CSS and JavaScript minification, image optimisation and lazy loading, that work on any web server.
Is LiteSpeed Cache free?
Yes, the plugin is free on WordPress.org, version 7.9.2 (released 20 October 2026) with 7+ million active installations when we read the page on 1 November 2026. Its cache needs a LiteSpeed server: OpenLiteSpeed is open source, and LiteSpeed's pricing page lists its Web Server from $0 a month. On shared hosting, the server belongs to the hosting company.
Which is better, LiteSpeed Cache or WP Rocket?
They work at different layers, so the server decides. LiteSpeed Cache's page cache only runs on a LiteSpeed server or QUIC.cloud, while WP Rocket is a standalone WordPress plugin. Our crawl counts 1,560,073 domains for LiteSpeed Cache and 718,843 for WP Rocket, and 33,618 domains run both today, so plenty of sites use the two together.
Does LiteSpeed Cache work without a LiteSpeed server?
Only partly. WordPress.org lists its cache as a LiteSpeed exclusive feature that needs OpenLiteSpeed, a commercial LiteSpeed product, LiteSpeed-powered hosting or QUIC.cloud CDN. The general features work on Apache or NGINX. That's why the plugin's files can appear on a site whose responses carry no LiteSpeed header, as on 9 of our 600 sampled domains.
Why do so many Hostinger sites show LiteSpeed Cache?
Because Hostinger's servers run LiteSpeed. In our random 600, 180 domains (30.00%) were on Hostinger's network or sent its headers, and 157 of them returned an x-litespeed-cache header, the server's cache answering. Our stack data puts Hostinger on 32.88% of clean domains. The site owner chose Hostinger; the cache layer came with the server.
What does the x-litespeed-cache header mean?
LiteSpeed's documentation says the server inserts it when it serves from cache, with values such as hit or hit, private; miss means the page wasn't served from cache this time but caching has started. 310 of the 377 sampled pages with the header returned a plain hit. A different header, x-turbo-charged-by, only names the server.
How can you tell if a site uses LiteSpeed Cache?
Read the response headers: x-litespeed-cache with hit or miss means the server's cache answered. The plugin also ends cached pages with an HTML comment such as "Page cached by LiteSpeed Cache 7.9.2"; 364 of our 600 sampled sites printed a version that way. On some sites its files load from /wp-content/plugins/litespeed-cache/.
Are many sites running old versions of LiteSpeed Cache?
Of 364 sampled sites that printed a version on 16 October 2026, 335 (92.03%) ran a 7.x release, but none could yet run 7.9.2, which LiteSpeed released on 20 October to patch two unauthenticated cross-site scripting flaws (CVE-2026-113499 and CVE-2026-113500, which apply only with certain settings). 21 (5.77%) ran 6.3.0.1 or older, the range NIST lists for CVE-2024-28000, a privilege-escalation flaw scored 9.8. Those are the sites nobody has updated in two years.
