Companies Using CartBot

Our October 2026 crawl finds CartBot on 8,297 domains, and Shopify runs on every clean domain among them. CartBot, listed on the Shopify App Store as CartBot: Gift with Purchase, drops a product into the shopper's cart when a rule is met: a free sample with a certain product, a gift once the cart passes a set value, or the second item of a buy-one-get-one offer. Below is the list of companies that use CartBot, with size, country, industry and stack. It includes Supergoop!, OLLY, Fauchon, HOYTS's gift shop and the Milwaukee Bucks' Pro Shop.

That's a narrower job than the cart drawers and upsell suites it sits beside in Cart & Checkout, where it ranks 2nd of 33 with 10.8%. The buyers are small and lean towards beauty and wellness: 63.21% of the matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 staff, and makers and sellers of personal care products are 10.21% of matched companies with a known industry. CartBot is made by Bundler.app in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Its free plan covers basic gift rules, and Premium costs $9.99 a month.

CartBot Usage Statistics

CartBot reads 6,394 domains in June 2026, 7,996 in July, 8,212 in August, 8,112 in September and 8,297 in October. Most of the June to July step is our doing. The set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with closed stores dropping out and newly found ones added, and our detection widens over time, so we don't read the line as adoption. Exits are easier to count: since we began tracking CartBot on 16 March 2026, 1,562 domains have dropped it on at least one hostname, and 160 of those still run it on another.

CartBot Market Share Among Cart & Checkout

What is CartBot's market share? 10.8% of Cart & Checkout, 2nd of the 33 technologies we track there, based on our crawl at TechnologyChecker.io. The leader, Code Black Belt, has 16,455 domains, 1.98 times CartBot's, but that count adds up several apps from one developer. GoKwik (6,926) and AOV.ai (6,351) come next. Of these, only AOV.ai's free-gift module does the same job as CartBot; the rest of their counts are bundles, upsells, cart drawers and checkouts. Read the share as reach among Shopify cart tools, not as a gift-app ranking.

Only 14 have more than 1,000 staff. Nine of them are in our list, and eight run CartBot on a side or country store rather than the main site: Three on its UK accessories store, HOYTS on its cinema gift shop, L'Occitane on its Chilean store. Universal Store, the Australian fashion chain, is the exception.

Company Size Distribution

Company Age (Founded Decade)

The largest group of matched companies was founded in the 2010s (43.62%), and another 27.15% in the 2020s, so 70.77% of those with a known founding year started in 2010 or later. There's an old tail too: 69 companies, 3.67%, were founded before 1960. Shepherd Neame, the Kent brewer, gives 1698 as its founding year, and Fauchon, the Paris fine-food house, 1886.

CartBot Alternatives & Competitors

The table isn't like for like. Code Black Belt (16,455 domains) and KaktusApps (4,407) are developers whose counts cover several apps each, AOV.ai (6,351) is an upsell suite with its own free-gift module, and CartPops (1,045) is a cart drawer. Stores rarely pair them with CartBot: 199 CartBot domains run Code Black Belt today, 115 run AOV.ai and 100 run KaktusApps. Most domains ever seen with either pair still run both, so none of these passes our switching tests.

Expert Analysis: CartBot Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

David Thomson
David ThomsonCTO, TechnologyChecker

I run the crawler behind these numbers, and CartBot is one of the easier Shopify apps to count. When a store installs it, Shopify adds a small loader from cdn-app.cart-bot.net to every page, and the loader sets a flag called CartBotScriptAppended before it fetches the store's settings. We count a domain when we see either one. Our October 2026 crawl finds 8,297 domains, 3,102 of them matched to a company, 2nd of 33 in Cart & Checkout. I also loaded every company page on this list in mid-October: all 50 carried CartBot's loader, 49 on a plain fetch and one, Legal Sea Foods, behind a bot wall in a full browser.

What the count can't see

The loader tells us the app is installed. It doesn't tell us whether a gift rule is switched on, because the bots are fetched from CartBot's server after the page loads and only act when something goes into the cart. So 8,297 is a count of stores with CartBot installed. Domains also overstate stores a little. CartBot's script carries the store's Shopify address, and some stores run it on several domains. The biggest group is Tru Niagen with 25 country and brand domains; no store is close to 1% of the count. Closed and broken stores, the "Store unavailable" and "Something went wrong" pages, are under 1% of the clean set.

Sales signal: dedupe by store before you size a CartBot list. Brands with many country domains, such as Tru Niagen, KOLONNE NULL or Koola Herbals, are one buyer each.

The chart is mostly coverage

The chart reads 6,394 in June, 7,996 in July, 8,212 in August, 8,112 in September and 8,297 in October. Most of the June to July step is ours: the set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with closed stores dropping out and newly found ones added, and our detection widens over time. Both effects run through the later months as well, so I don't read any of it as growth. Exits are clearer. Since we began tracking CartBot on 16 March 2026, 1,562 domains have dropped it on at least one hostname. When I checked those a few days after the data date, 160 still ran CartBot on another hostname, about one in ten, so most left it everywhere.

"CartBot does one small job, putting a gift in the cart, and it's 2nd in a category full of bigger suites. Its customers are the brands that hand out samples: beauty, supplements, coffee, fine food." - David Thomson, CTO at TechnologyChecker.io

Sales signal: treat CartBot as a steady base of about 8,000 store domains with normal Shopify churn. The chart doesn't support a growth story.

Who installs it

63.21% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 26.23% have 11 to 50. Only 14 have more than 1,000, and eight of the nine in our list run CartBot on a side or country shop. Three uses it on accessories.three.co.uk, HOYTS on its cinema gift shop and Mandai Wildlife Group on its merchandise store. Smaller organisations do the same: Monin on its trade store for professionals and the Reserve Bank of Fiji on the shop where it sells commemorative coins and notes. Age tells the same story. 70.77% of companies with a known founding year started in 2010 or later.

Sales signal: at a large company the CartBot account belongs to whoever runs the online shop, often merchandise or retail, not central marketing. Start there.

Beauty, food and fan shops

Retail (14.22%) and Retail Apparel and Fashion (8.73%) lead. The next rows are where CartBot differs. Personal Care Product Manufacturing is 6.67%, Food and Beverage Services 5.53% and Wellness and Fitness Services 4.9%. Supergoop!, OLLY, Olive Tree People, Fauchon and Shepherd Neame are all brands where a free sample or a small extra is a normal offer. The United States has 1,105 matched companies, the United Kingdom 312, Australia 211, Canada 205, Germany 151 and France 140. Germany, France, the Netherlands, Spain and Italy together have 485, more than the United Kingdom.

Sales signal: a CartBot store already runs promotion mechanics. For a sampling, packaging or gifting supplier, the beauty and food rows are a pre-qualified list.

Overlap, not switching

We publish no switching table for CartBot, because nothing passed our tests. 199 CartBot domains run Code Black Belt today, out of 237 ever seen with both, and 115 run AOV.ai, out of 139. KaktusApps has 100 out of 112. With more than 80% of each pair still running both, stores are stacking these apps, not replacing one with another. The numbers are small, too, under 2.5% of CartBot's clean domains for any one rival.

"Most stores that ever ran CartBot with Code Black Belt or AOV.ai still run both. These apps get added on top of each other." - David Thomson, CTO at TechnologyChecker.io

Sales signal: don't pitch a rival as a CartBot replacement. A store with CartBot has shown it will add one more cart app if it does a different job.

The stack around it

Across the 8,097 clean live CartBot domains, Klaviyo runs on 49.24%, against 19.66% on Product Customizer's domains. Judge.me is on 36.45%. Show Recent Orders (20.71%) and Instafeed (20.6%) are the other common apps. Seal Subscriptions is on 9.03%, and CartBot's listing names it as compatible, so a gift on a first subscription order looks like a common use. Pandectes, a consent app, is on 5.78%.

Sales signal: these are stores with a working email programme. Klaviyo partners and agencies selling promotion strategy will find more fit here than on Product Customizer's stores, where Klaviyo is on 19.66%.

Price and reviews

CartBot's App Store listing (checked 14 October 2026) shows a free plan with product and cart-value rules and the reverse bot, and a Premium plan at $9.99 a month that adds quantity conditions, scheduling and unlimited bots. It's rated 4.9 from 508 reviews and carries the Built for Shopify badge. We can't tell free installs from paid ones. With a free plan this capable, I'd assume most of these stores pay nothing.

Sales signal: the upsell path for CartBot is scheduling, for Black Friday and launches. Stores running timed promotions are the likeliest Premium buyers.

How to use this list

Filter CartBot stores by industry and country, then dedupe by store. A first line that works: "You already give gifts with purchase through CartBot; here's how to make the gift pay back." If you sell a cart or upsell app, target the clean CartBot domains that don't already run AOV.ai or Code Black Belt.
