Companies Using KaktusApps
Our October 2026 crawl finds KaktusApps scripts on 4,407 live domains, and nearly every one is a Shopify store. Kaktus is a developer with 67 apps on its Shopify App Store page, and our rule counts a store that loads any of them from kaktusapp.com. The pre-order app is the one most stores run. Of the 4,235 domains where our crawl logged which Kaktus script loaded, 1,977 loaded it. Below is the list of companies that use KaktusApps, with size, country, industry and stack. It includes the New York Post's online shop, Assouline, Frogg Toggs and the Chrysler Museum of Art's shop.
Counted as a suite, KaktusApps ranks 7th of the 33 tools in Cart & Checkout, with 5.74% of the category. Only part of it is a cart tool. The free-gift, free-shipping-bar, bundle and volume-discount scripts are; the wishlist app (580 domains) isn't, and taking pre-orders is an ordering feature more than a cart widget. The buyers are small shops: 74.07% of matched companies have 10 or fewer staff.

KaktusApps Usage Statistics

September to October added 61 domains, which is close to flat. Since we began tracking Kaktus on 4 August 2026, 429 domains dropped it on at least one hostname, and 68 of those still run it on another hostname.

KaktusApps Alternatives & Competitors

Expert Analysis: KaktusApps Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

I spend most of my week on how our crawler decides that a script is there, so a page like this one starts for me with the rule. A domain counts as a KaktusApps customer when a page on it loads a script from kaktusapp.com. That sounds narrow, but Kaktus has 67 apps on its Shopify App Store page, and each one ships from its own subdomain: po for pre-orders, fbt for frequently bought together, bot for free gifts, wishlist, fs for the free shipping bar. So the rule measures the suite. In our October 2026 crawl it finds 4,407 live domains, and we matched 1,362 of them to a company.
One rule, many apps
Our crawl logs the script address each page loads, which lets me split the count. Of the 4,235 domains where we logged a Kaktus script in the 45 days to mid-October, 1,977 loaded the pre-order app, 605 the frequently-bought-together app, 580 the wishlist, 455 the BOT free-gift app and 397 the free shipping bar. Bundles (158), volume discounts (109) and a long tail of smaller apps follow. A sample of 45 random domains, fetched in full, came out the same way: 44 carried a Kaktus script, 20 of them the pre-order app, and only one ran two Kaktus apps at once. Each script file is named after the store's own myshopify address, so I could also check whether one account sits on many sites. None does: the largest covers 12 domains, one store's aliases.
Sales signal: treat a Kaktus row as a store that bought one fix, most often pre-orders. Its second need is your opening.
Read the chart with care
The usage chart reads 3,439 in August, 4,346 in September and 4,407 in October. The first step is ours. The domains we crawl turn over every month, dead sites out and new ones in, and our detection signals widened in the same weeks, so the jump says little about installs. September to October added 61 domains. Since we began tracking Kaktus on 4 August 2026, 429 domains dropped it on at least one hostname, and 68 of those still run it on another hostname. Closed stores are a small share of the live count: Shopify's "Store unavailable", "Something went wrong" and sign-up pages, plus password pages, cover 34 of the 4,359 clean domains.
"Kaktus is a pre-order business that happens to sell 66 other apps. Nearly half the domains we can attribute load the pre-order script, and in a 45-store sample only one ran two Kaktus apps." - David Thomson, CTO at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: the base is steady at about 4,400 domains. Price any forecast off October, not the August starting point.
Small and young
74.07% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 19.25% have 11 to 50. Six have more than 500. The base is also young: 34.56% of companies with a known founding year date from the 2020s, against 18.49% on Code Black Belt's profile. The larger names run Kaktus on one shop. The New York Post takes pre-orders on shop.nypost.com, the Chrysler Museum of Art runs the wishlist on its museum shop, and Best Friends Animal Society uses the free-gift BOT on its store. Assouline, Frogg Toggs, The Tiffen Company and Rabbit Hole Distillery are on the list too.
Sales signal: these owners install apps themselves and pay by the month. Lead with setup time and price, and expect a one-person decision.
Where the stores are
The United States has 425 matched companies, the United Kingdom 147, Canada 100, India 95 and Australia 75. Italy (46), Germany (45) and France (45) come next. The American lead is narrower than on Code Black Belt's profile, about 2.9 US companies per British one against about 4.0. Industries are spread thin: Retail is 17.4% and Retail Apparel and Fashion 12.91%, and nothing else reaches 4.1%.
Sales signal: for a localised pitch, the Italian, German and French stores are a reachable group of about 136 matched companies, small enough to work by hand.
Who else is on these stores
The category table puts Kaktus beside Code Black Belt (16,455 domains), CartBot (8,297), AOV.ai (6,351) and iWish (1,039). Our data doesn't show stores swapping one for another. 103 domains run Code Black Belt and Kaktus today, out of 108 ever seen with both. CartBot shares 100 domains (112 ever) and AOV.ai 60 (67 ever). Those overlaps are stores stacking apps from different developers, often a Kaktus pre-order next to another vendor's cross-sell, and our switching tests reject all three pairs.
"Nine in ten stores that ever ran Kaktus beside one of these rivals still run both. Merchants add apps here; they rarely swap them." - David Thomson, CTO at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: a rival suite can sell its cross-sell into a Kaktus pre-order store without asking anyone to rip anything out.
The stack around Kaktus
On the 4,359 clean domains behind these shares, Shopify runs on 99.98%. Judge.me is on 28.36%. Klaviyo email sits on 24.8% and Mailchimp on 12.37%. Instafeed (21.11%), Hextom (8.81%), GoodApps (7.09%) and AVADA (6.56%) show how many small app vendors share these stores. Google Analytics runs on 62.63%, lower than on Code Black Belt's domains (75.98%).
Sales signal: three in four Kaktus stores don't run Klaviyo. For an email or SMS tool, that gap is the list.
Pricing that tracks store orders
Kaktus prices each app on its own. The pre-order app's App Store listing (checked 14 October 2026) is free to install but free to use only on development stores. Live stores pay by total Shopify orders: Kaktus's pricing page runs from $9.99 a month (up to 9 orders) through $14.99, $29.99, $49.99, $89.99 and $129.99 to $199.99 for 1,100+ orders, with a 7-day trial. The listing shows 396 reviews at 4.7. The BOT free-gift app is listed as free. Pricing on total store orders means a store pays more as it grows, whatever share of orders are pre-orders.
Sales signal: every step up in total orders, to $199.99 a month past 1,100 orders, moves a store up a plan, which is a good moment for a flat-priced rival to call.
Key takeaways
1. 4,407 live domains, 7th of 33 in Cart & Checkout, counted as one suite.
2. Pre-orders lead: 1,977 of the 4,235 domains we could attribute.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who uses KaktusApps?
Mostly small Shopify stores selling physical products. Our October 2026 crawl finds KaktusApps scripts on 4,407 live domains, and 74.07% of matched companies have 10 or fewer staff. Retail and apparel lead the industries. Named users include the New York Post's merchandise shop, Assouline, Frogg Toggs, the Chrysler Museum of Art's shop, Best Friends Animal Society and The Tiffen Company.
How many customers does KaktusApps have?
Our October 2026 crawl finds KaktusApps on 4,407 live domains, and we matched 1,362 of them to a company. That counts stores, not apps: a store running two Kaktus apps counts once. Since tracking began on 4 August 2026, 429 domains dropped Kaktus on at least one hostname, and 68 of those still run it on another one.
What is KaktusApps's market share?
KaktusApps holds 5.74% of Cart & Checkout and ranks 7th of the 33 tools we track there, on 4,407 domains in October 2026. Code Black Belt leads with 21.42%. The share treats Kaktus as one suite, so a store running only the wishlist counts the same as one running the pre-order app.
What are the best alternatives to KaktusApps?
It depends on which Kaktus app you're replacing. For cross-sells and bundles, Code Black Belt (16,455 domains) and AOV.ai (6,351) are the larger suites in our data. For free gifts, CartBot (8,297) does the same job as Kaktus's BOT. For wishlists, iWish shows on 1,039 domains. For pre-orders, AOV.ai also sells a pre-order app, but the dedicated pre-order apps sit outside this table.
Which countries use KaktusApps the most?
The United States, with 425 matched companies, then the United Kingdom (147), Canada (100), India (95) and Australia (75). Italy, Germany and France follow with 46, 45 and 45. That's about 2.9 American companies for each British one, a narrower gap than Code Black Belt's 4.0.
What size companies use KaktusApps?
Very small ones. 74.07% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 19.25% have 11 to 50, so 93.32% have 50 or fewer. Only six have more than 500 staff. Larger names on the list, such as the New York Post or Uratex, run Kaktus on a merchandise or online shop.
How old are companies that use KaktusApps?
Young, for this category. Among matched companies with a known founding year, 41.22% were founded in the 2010s and 34.56% in the 2020s, against 18.49% from the 2020s on Code Black Belt's profile. Only 10.2% date from the 2000s. Older names on the list include the New York Post, The Tiffen Company and the Chrysler Museum.
What is the ideal customer profile for KaktusApps?
A Shopify store with ten or fewer staff, founded in the 2010s or 2020s, selling clothing, food, beauty or gifts, most often in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada or India. It typically needs one specific feature, most often pre-orders, and rarely runs a second Kaktus app. Judge.me reviews and Klaviyo email are the most common neighbours in its stack.
Is there a pre-order app available in Shopify?
