Companies Using Cloudbeds

I'm David Thomson, CTO at TechnologyChecker.io, and most of my time on this profile went into deciding what a Cloudbeds detection should mean. Our September 2026 crawl finds Cloudbeds on 4,258 websites, and 3,001 of them match a company record. Cloudbeds says on its homepage that more than 20,000 properties in over 150 countries use it. The gap is expected: we see hotels that send website visitors to Cloudbeds' booking engine, not the ones that use Cloudbeds only at the front desk. What the count is

Two things worried me. A rule that counts links to cloudbeds.com could count anyone who mentions Cloudbeds, the way a footer badge gets counted as a donation button. And a link rule attracts junk. The first worry mostly went away once we read the links. In a random sample of 150 sites, 132 were real websites: 80 linked to the property's own reservation page, a URL carrying a property code, and 44 loaded Cloudbeds' widget or script. Only two were clearly not customers, a hospitality news site and a marketing agency. For a hotel, the link is the product.

The second worry was real. 730 matched sites, 14.6% of the uncleaned total, belonged to an advertising network: the same ad-tech tags, the same bot wall, and filler pages about bank transfers. Some sit on old inn and hotel domains. We took them out of every number on this page, and the note at the bottom shows how.

Growth trajectory

There isn't a trajectory to draw yet. The chart shows one point, September's 4,258, because our earlier monthly totals include the network and can't be cleaned month by month. Since we began tracking Cloudbeds in March 2026, 331 domains outside the network dropped it. Hotels close, change hands and rebuild their websites, so I read that as turnover, not a churn rate.

Sales Signal: Treat 4,258 as the baseline for hotels that sell rooms through Cloudbeds' engine on their own site, and wait for a few clean months before calling any change growth.

Customer profile

This is an independent-hotel product. Of matched companies with a size on record, 63.93% have 1 to 10 employees and 93.85% have 50 or fewer. Only two have more than 1,000 staff. These are small, independently run properties, not chains. Founding years lean recent: 40.96% started in the 2010s and 24.24% in the 2020s.

The best-known names show the range. Selectum Hotels runs resorts in Turkey. Safestay runs hostels and books them from its own safestay.cloudbeds.com site. SoJo Spa Club in New Jersey books its boutique Hotel SoJo through Cloudbeds, and London's Oriental Club runs it inside its members' area.

Sales Signal: The buyer is an owner or general manager doing the job of a whole revenue team. Tools that save front-desk time or win direct bookings without extra staff fit. Anything that needs an analyst to run doesn't.

Industry and geographic concentration

Lodging makes 80.99% of matched companies: Hospitality 75.56%, Hotels and Motels 4.75%, and Bed-and-Breakfasts, Hostels, Homestays 0.68%. The United States leads with 994 matched companies, but Mexico (216), Brazil (170), Colombia (55), Argentina (48) and Chile (47) add 536, and Spain (154) and Portugal (85) add 239 more. Canada (195), the UK (143) and Australia (132) come next.

Sales Signal: Spanish and Portuguese outreach reaches a big slice of this base. Latin America and Iberia together come to 775 matched companies, not far short of the US's 994.

Why there is no migration table

Hotels rarely run two booking engines at once, so a switch should be easy to see. We don't see many. Since March 2026 the largest pair involving Cloudbeds is Asksuite, a hotel chatbot, with 4 domains one way and 6 the other. SiteMinder, Triptease and Guesty are smaller still. Nothing comes near the 50-domain floor we set before publishing a flow.

Sales Signal: Without a churn wave to ride, a rival system has to win hotels at renewal, at a change of owner or at opening. Those are the moments to watch.

Technology ecosystem

Across the 4,258 sites, WordPress runs on 42.06%, Elementor on 19.21%, Duda on 15.62% and Wix on 10.62%. Google Analytics is on 68.62%, but the Facebook Pixel reaches only 26.42% and Google Ads conversion tracking 9.21%. GoDaddy hosts 25.13%. Email splits between Google Workspace (28.04%) and Microsoft 365 (15.45%). We removed three libraries from the table, Snowplow, Video.js and MobX, because Cloudbeds' booking engine loads them on the hotel's page.

Sales Signal: Most of these hotels measure traffic, but fewer than one in ten tracks Google Ads conversions. That's an opening for agencies that run paid search for direct bookings.

Review signals

Cloudbeds rates 4.2 out of 5 from 41 G2 reviews (September 27, 2026): 68% five stars, 24% four stars and 7% one star. That's a small sample for a vendor claiming 20,000 properties, and much of the public argument happens elsewhere, in r/askhotels threads weighing it against Mews and OPERA. Our crawl can't measure satisfaction. It can see that hotels aren't leaving in numbers.

Sales Signal: If you sell against Cloudbeds, bring a written price, because its plans are quote-only. If you sell to Cloudbeds hotels, connect to its marketplace instead of asking them to switch.
