Companies Using FareHarbor

FareHarbor is the booking system behind thousands of boat tours, kayak rentals, fishing charters, food tours and attractions. Operators embed its calendar and checkout on their own websites, and our September 2026 crawl finds that embed on 11,943 websites. FareHarbor says more than 23,000 businesses use it, so this list of companies using FareHarbor covers roughly half of that figure.

Companies that use FareHarbor range from resorts such as Westgate Resorts, Terranea and the Arizona Biltmore to one-boat charter captains, and the small end dominates: 95.69% of matched companies have 50 or fewer staff. One website is close to one operator here. In a sample of 397 sites we could read, only one was a reseller listing other operators' tours. FareHarbor holds 4.24% of Appointment Scheduling, #3 behind Calendly and Bookly, and it's well ahead of the tour booking systems we track, at about 5.5 times Peek.

FareHarbor Usage Statistics

Our crawl counted 10,796 FareHarbor domains in June 2026, 11,629 in July, 11,684 in August and 11,943 in September. Don't read the June to July step as a surge in bookings software sales. The set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and newly found ones added, and our detection signals widen over time. July to September moved by 314 domains, and only 6.11% of today's live FareHarbor sites were first seen in August or September, so the count is steady. Quote September's 11,943.

List of Companies Using FareHarbor

Our list of companies using FareHarbor opens with the best-known companies we could match, which is why resorts and attractions sit at the top. Nearly all of these websites using FareHarbor run it on the main site, where the Book Now button opens FareHarbor's checkout. We checked the brands that use FareHarbor named here against their live pages, and FareHarbor's own domains are left out.

Expert Analysis: FareHarbor Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

Emma Davies
Emma DaviesData Analyst, TechnologyChecker

I'm Emma Davies, a data analyst at TechnologyChecker.io, and I built this profile from our September 2026 crawl. We detect FareHarbor's booking embed on 11,943 websites, and 8,587 of them match a company record. FareHarbor says more than 23,000 businesses use it, on its About page. The crawl sees operators that sell through their own site; operators taking bookings only by phone or through resellers don't show up. Our write-up on technology detection methods explains how a script on a page becomes a detection.

What the count is

I wanted to know two things before trusting 11,943: are these pages running FareHarbor at all, and is one domain one customer? We loaded 600 random FareHarbor domains. 547 pages loaded, and 541 carried FareHarbor's booking code. Of those, 397 exposed the operator's account name in a booking link, and they resolved to 421 accounts. Only one of the 397, a Maui activities site listing 11 operators, looked like a reseller. So the domain count is close to an operator count.

Some operators do spread across domains. Tybee Surf Lessons runs 50 keyword domains, Terranea Resort 21 and Ole Smoky Distillery 18. They're real operators, not spam, and together they're a rounding error in 11,943.

Growth trajectory

The chart reads 10,796 in June 2026, 11,629 in July, 11,684 in August and 11,943 in September. The June to July step is our side: the set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and new ones added, and our detection signals widen. Only 6.11% of today's live domains were first seen in August or September, so the base is settled. The sidebar's 1,038 dropped domains since March 2026 include seasonal operators whose booking pages go offline between seasons, so it isn't a churn rate.

"Tour operators are seasonal, and their websites are too. A kayak shop that pulls its booking page in November isn't a lost FareHarbor customer, and I'd rather leave the drop count unexplained than call it churn." - Emma Davies, Data Analyst at TechnologyChecker.io

Sales Signal: Treat the base as stable and time outreach to the off-season, when operators rebuild websites and review tools before the next summer.

Customer profile

This is a micro-business product. Of matched companies with a size on record, 69.46% have 1 to 10 employees and 95.69% have 50 or fewer. Only 15 have more than 1,000 staff. On age, 45.31% were founded in the 2010s and 13.44% in the 2020s.

The named list tells a different story because it opens with the best-known names. Westgate Resorts, Pebble Beach Resorts, Terranea, the Arizona Biltmore and Grand Wailea all embed FareHarbor, and the reason is the same each time: resorts sell guest activities, and FareHarbor handles the tickets. The Salvation Army appears because its Strawberry Field visitor site in Liverpool sells entry through FareHarbor.

Sales Signal: The core buyer is an owner-operator with a handful of seasonal staff. They care about filled seats and simple payouts, not software. The resort segment is small in count but buys at a different scale.

Industry and geographic concentration

Travel Arrangements leads at 22.57%, and with Hospitality (9.44%), Leisure, Travel & Tourism (6.34%) and Recreational Facilities (5.44%) the travel cluster makes 43.79%. Page titles in our sample are more specific: at least 169 of 541 FareHarbor pages sell time on the water, from fishing charters to paddleboard rentals. The United States leads with 5,105 matched companies, then Australia (577), the UK (525), Spain (344), Canada (310) and Portugal (274).

Sales Signal: Coastal tourism is the target: US beach towns, Australia and New Zealand, and the Iberian coast. Spain and Portugal together (618) outnumber the UK, so Spanish and Portuguese materials would reach a real audience.

Why there is no migration table

Switching between booking systems is rare in our data. Since March 2026, 24 sites that dropped FareHarbor now run Peek and 11 FareHarbor sites dropped Peek, and 84% of the sites that ever ran both still run both, which looks like operators using two systems rather than replacing one. Xola, GetYourGuide and Bókun each account for four or fewer. Nothing reached the 50-domain floor we set before publishing a flow.

"The obvious story is FareHarbor against Peek. The data says something plainer: 265 FareHarbor sites run Peek as well, and hardly anyone leaves either one." - Emma Davies, Data Analyst at TechnologyChecker.io

Sales Signal: A rival booking system won't win on a churn wave. The opening is operators already running two systems, who pay two sets of fees.

Technology ecosystem

Across 12,011 domains, WordPress runs on 63.18% and Elementor on 16.08%, with Wix at 8.29% and Squarespace at 7.12%. Google Tag Manager is on 72.73%, the Facebook Pixel on 28.9% and Google Ads conversion tracking on 8.19%. Peek (2.21%) is the most common second booking system. Google Workspace (24.82%) leads Microsoft 365 (16.83%) for email.

Sales Signal: WordPress agencies and paid-social specialists who know tourism have an obvious market here: 63.18% of these sites are on WordPress, and fewer than one in three runs the Facebook Pixel.

Review signals

FareHarbor rates 3.8 out of 5 from 39 G2 reviews, too few for G2 to publish a summary. 83% of ratings are four or five stars and 10% are one star. Most public argument about FareHarbor concerns its fees: rival vendors publish comparison pages on its booking fee, and FareHarbor doesn't list its rates. Our crawl can't see pricing, but it can see loyalty, and the low switching above says the fee debate isn't moving many operators.

Sales Signal: If you sell against FareHarbor, lead with a fee comparison on the operator's own numbers. If you sell to FareHarbor operators, you don't need them to switch anything.

Key takeaways

1. 11,943 websites run FareHarbor, about half of the 23,000+ businesses it claims.
2. A domain is close to an operator: 397 sampled sites mapped to 421 accounts, with one reseller.
3. The buyer is tiny: 95.69% have 50 or fewer staff.
4. It's well ahead of tour-booking rivals at about 5.5 times Peek, while its #3 category rank sits behind meeting schedulers.
5. Switching is rare, and drops include seasonal pages.

Sales applications

Outreach template: "I saw [operator] takes bookings through FareHarbor on [site]. Operators your size usually want [more direct bookings / fewer no-shows] before next season. Worth 15 minutes?" Targeting strategy: on TechnologyChecker.io, filter FareHarbor to Travel Arrangements or Recreational Facilities in the US or Australia, then add WordPress to find sites you can work on. Competitive angle: the 265 sites running both FareHarbor and Peek are the ones already comparing systems.

Every figure above comes from our own crawl and enrichment: 11,943 FareHarbor websites and 8,587 matched companies. Filter the list by country, industry and company size on TechnologyChecker.io.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who uses FareHarbor?

Tour, activity and rental operators, most of them very small. Our crawl finds FareHarbor on 11,943 websites: boat and fishing charters, kayak and paddleboard rentals, surf schools, ATV and jeep tours, food and ghost tours, museums and resorts. Named customers include Westgate Resorts, Pebble Beach Resorts, the Arizona Biltmore, Catalina Island Company and RealNZ. 95.69% of matched companies have 50 or fewer staff.

How many customers does FareHarbor have?

FareHarbor says more than 23,000 businesses use it. Our September 2026 crawl finds its booking embed on 11,943 websites, about half that figure, partly because operators who sell only through resellers or by phone leave no trace on a website of their own. Domains are close to operators here. The 1,038 domains that dropped FareHarbor since March 2026 include seasonal operators taking booking pages down, so they aren't all churn.

What is FareHarbor's market share?

On TechnologyChecker.io, FareHarbor holds 4.24% of Appointment Scheduling and ranks #3 of 132, behind Calendly and Bookly. Those two book meetings and appointments, not tours. Against the tour and activity booking systems we track, FareHarbor is well ahead at 11,943 domains, about 5.5 times Peek (2,163), with Bookeo (1,242), Bókun (794) and Rezdy (437) further back.

What are the best alternatives to FareHarbor?

Other tour and activity booking systems: Peek Pro, Bókun, Rezdy, Xola, Checkfront, Bookeo and Regiondo. What fees does FareHarbor charge?

FareHarbor charges no monthly or setup fee. Its terms describe a booking fee that the customer pays at checkout, or a commission the operator pays instead, plus payment processing and a fee on reseller bookings. FareHarbor doesn't publish the rates. Bókun, a rival, puts them at up to 6% on direct bookings, 2% on reseller bookings and 1.9% plus 30 cents per ticket for processing.

Why do I have a charge from FareHarbor?

Probably because you booked a tour, rental or ticket on an operator's website. FareHarbor runs the checkout for thousands of operators, so the charge can carry its name. The total often includes FareHarbor's booking fee, which its customer terms (effective September 1, 2025) call non-refundable, though it may refund at its discretion. Ask the operator about refunding the activity itself.

Who owns FareHarbor?

Booking Holdings, the owner of Booking.com, Priceline and Kayak. It announced the agreement to acquire FareHarbor on April 19, 2018, and said FareHarbor would run as an independent business within the group. FareHarbor was founded in Hawaii in 2013. A day later, on April 20, 2018, Tripadvisor announced it had bought Bókun, one of FareHarbor's main rivals.

Is FareHarbor legit?

Yes. FareHarbor has been part of Booking Holdings since 2018 and says more than 23,000 businesses use it. Our crawl confirms the install base independently: in a random sample of 600 live FareHarbor domains, 547 pages loaded and 541 of them carried FareHarbor's booking code. On G2 it rates 3.8 out of 5 from 39 reviews, a small sample.

What kind of businesses use FareHarbor?

Mostly businesses on the water. We loaded 600 random FareHarbor domains and read the page titles of the 541 that carry it. At least 103 are boat tours, fishing or sailing charters and cruises, and 66 more rent kayaks, paddleboards or jet skis, or teach surfing and diving: 169 in all. Walking, food and ghost tours (28) and ATV, jeep and zipline outfits (25) follow.

How does FareHarbor compare with Peek?

FareHarbor is much bigger in our crawl: 11,943 domains against 2,163 for Peek. The two often sit side by side: 265 FareHarbor sites (2.21%) also load Peek. We don't see a clear switching trend. Since March 2026, 24 sites that dropped FareHarbor now run Peek and 11 FareHarbor sites dropped Peek, and 84% of sites that ever ran both still do.

How does FareHarbor compare with Rezdy and Bókun?

Both are smaller in our crawl: Bókun on 794 domains and Rezdy on 437, against FareHarbor's 11,943. Overlap is tiny, with 28 FareHarbor sites also loading Rezdy and 13 loading Bókun, and too few sites switch between them to measure. Bókun is owned by Tripadvisor, and FareHarbor by Booking Holdings, so each links to a different marketplace.

How can you tell if a website uses FareHarbor?

Look for a script from fareharbor.com/embeds/api/v1/ or an iframe pointing at fareharbor.com. Book Now buttons usually link to fareharbor.com/embeds/book/ followed by the operator's short name, and open FareHarbor's checkout in an overlay on the operator's own page. TechnologyChecker.io detects the script and the iframe.

Is one FareHarbor website one operator?

Almost always. In our sample, 397 sites exposed an operator account name, and they resolved to 421 accounts, because some pages sell several operators' trips. Only one of the 397 was a reseller listing many operators. Some operators run keyword domains, though: Tybee Surf Lessons alone has 50, and Terranea Resort 21.

Why did the FareHarbor count rise in July 2026?

Mostly because our coverage grew. The chart goes from 10,796 domains in June to 11,629 in July, then 11,684 in August and 11,943 in September. The set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and new ones added, and our detection signals widen. Read September as the baseline rather than the June to July step as growth.
