Companies Using Mindbody
Mindbody says more than 40,000 businesses run on it. Most of what they use it for, the front desk, payments, staff schedules and the Mindbody app, sits behind a login. What shows on a studio's own website is the booking layer: class schedules and buy buttons from Mindbody's widgets, and its Messenger booking assistant. Our September 2026 crawl finds those on 2,809 websites, so read this page as a floor on Mindbody customers, about 7% of the vendor's figure.
The businesses that use Mindbody on their sites are studios: yoga, pilates, barre, boxing and dance. Rumble Boxing, Jetts Fitness in New Zealand and American Ballet Theatre all load its widgets. 71.86% of matched companies are fitness and wellness businesses, and 30.61% employ 11 to 50 people. Below is the full list of studios that use Mindbody, with size, country and website stack, and how they compare with Acuity Scheduling users.

Mindbody Usage Statistics
Mindbody reads 2,010 domains in June 2026, 2,138 in July, 2,534 in August and 2,809 in September. The August and September steps reflect changes on our side, both the domains we cover and the signals we detect Mindbody with, rather than a wave of studios signing up: 768 of today's 2,819 live domains (27.2%) were first detected in those two months. The set of domains we crawl also turns over each month, with dead sites dropping out and new ones added. Quote the September level. 293 domains have dropped Mindbody since we began tracking it in March 2026.

Which Countries Use Mindbody the Most?
Which countries use Mindbody the most? The United States, with 1,535 matched companies, then Australia (188), Canada (179) and the United Kingdom (129). With New Zealand's 16, those five English-speaking countries hold 2,047 of the 2,268 matched companies. Australia ahead of the UK sets Mindbody apart from Acuity Scheduling, whose list runs US, UK, Australia, Canada. France (29) and the United Arab Emirates (21) lead the rest, based on our enriched company data.
Share of the 2,268 Mindbody domains we matched to a company record — 80.7% of the 2,809 we detect. Top 15 countries shown, so these do not sum to 100%. Domains with no matching company record are not represented here and skew small and independent.
Mindbody Market Share Among Appointment Scheduling
What is Mindbody's market share? It holds 1% of Appointment Scheduling and ranks #11 of the 132 technologies we track there, based on our crawl at TechnologyChecker.io. The ten above it mostly do other jobs: Calendly (179,831 domains) books meetings, FareHarbor and GetYourGuide sell tours, and Zocdoc books doctors. The nearest rows are Acuity Scheduling (3,983), a general appointment tool, and Housecall Pro (2,867), which serves home-service trades. Among booking tools built for studios and salons, Mindbody's 2,809 leads Boulevard (2,105), Momence (870) and Glofox (419).

Mindbody Customers by Company Size & Age
What size businesses use Mindbody? Small, but rarely solo. 65.9% of matched companies with a known size employ 1 to 10 people and 30.61% employ 11 to 50 in our company data. That second band is a studio with a roster of instructors, and it is more than two and a half times the 11.62% on Acuity Scheduling. Only 77 companies employ more than 50 people, among them Jetts in New Zealand and American Ballet Theatre.
Company Size Distribution
Company Age (Founded Decade)
The largest group, 53.85%, was founded in the 2010s, followed by the 2000s at 23.59%. Only 16.72% date from the 2020s, against 28.45% for Acuity Scheduling users, which fits businesses that need premises and teachers before they can open. The oldest names on our list are dance companies: American Ballet Theatre (1940 in our company data) and Richmond Ballet (1957).
What Industries Use Mindbody the Most?
Wellness and Fitness Services leads at 57.21%, and Health, Wellness & Fitness, LinkedIn's older label for the same trade, adds 14.65%, so 71.86% of matched companies are fitness and wellness businesses. Spectator Sports (5.03%) is a label some studios pick, as Pole & Dance in Paris does, followed by Individual and Family Services (3.19%) and Medical Practices (3.13%). Acuity Scheduling, by contrast, has no industry above 9%, based on our enriched company data at TechnologyChecker.io.
Yoga and pilates studios that use Mindbody fill much of the named list: Hot 8 Yoga in Santa Monica, Power Yoga Canada, Yoga Pod, Mighty Pilates in San Francisco and Heartcore in London. Dance companies on Mindbody include American Ballet Theatre and Richmond Ballet, both loading its widget script on their main sites. Spas and salons using Mindbody appear too, such as Heavenly Touch Day Spa and The Blowout Bar, and so do therapy practices like The Self Space in London.
Mindbody Alternatives & Competitors
Calendly tops our Appointment Scheduling table on 179,831 domains, but it books meetings between professionals, and only 3 of the domains that dropped Mindbody now run it. The studio and salon tools we track are smaller: Boulevard (2,105), Momence (870), Glofox (419) and Zen Planner (260). General booking tools are the other option, and the companies that use Acuity Scheduling are smaller still, 86.01% with ten or fewer staff. Switching is too thin to rank: of 262 domains where Mindbody is gone from every host since March 2026, the most common booking tool they now run is Momence, on 5.

Tech Stack of Mindbody-Powered Websites
Across the 2,819 domains where Mindbody is live, WordPress runs on 49.7% and Squarespace on 27.53%, about half the 55.82% on Acuity Scheduling sites. GoDaddy hosts 35.05%. Studios advertise: the Facebook Pixel is on 39.27%, Google Ads conversion tracking on 9.15% and Google call conversion tracking on 3.23%. We leave out Mixpanel (67.12%), Pendo (13.59%) and Bowtie (25.58%): Mindbody's widgets and its Messenger assistant load them, so they describe Mindbody, not the studio.

Expert Analysis: Mindbody Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

I analysed Mindbody against our September 2026 crawl. We find its booking widgets on 2,809 websites, and 2,268 of them match a company record. Mindbody says more than 40,000 businesses run on it, on its homepage, so we see about 7% of its customers: the ones that put Mindbody's booking on their own website. Our note on technology detection methods explains how a widget becomes a detection.
What the crawl sees, and what it misses
We detect Mindbody from its widgets: the healcode.js loader served from widgets.mindbodyonline.com or widgets.healcode.com, Mindbody's branded web components, and its Messenger booking assistant. Healcode was a widget company Mindbody bought in 2016, and the name survives in the code. In a browser check of 24 random detected sites, all 24 loaded a Mindbody widget.
Two groups stay out of view. Studios that take bookings only in the Mindbody app or through ClassPass, or that link to a Mindbody booking page without embedding anything, leave no widget on their site. And a widget can outlive the account: one of the 24 sites in our browser check told visitors it had moved to Momence while its page still loaded Mindbody's script.
Sales signal: this list is the part of Mindbody's base that sells classes on its own website. If you sell web design, SEO or ads to studios, these are the ones already treating their site as a booking channel.
The rise in the chart is our crawl
The chart reads 2,010 in June, 2,138 in July, 2,534 in August and 2,809 in September. 768 of today's live domains, 27.2%, were first detected in August or September. Those steps reflect changes on our side, both the domains we cover and the signals we detect Mindbody with, and the set of domains we crawl turns over every month as dead sites drop out and new ones are added.
"More than a quarter of the Mindbody sites on this page were first detected in August or September. Some of those studios are new to Mindbody and some are only new to us, and the crawl can't tell them apart. I'd use the September count and leave the curve alone." - Emma Davies, Data Analyst at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: treat a newly detected studio as an established Mindbody customer. Its class packs, memberships and client history are probably already in the system, and that raises the cost of moving.
Studios with a teaching roster
Of 2,205 matched companies with a known size, 65.9% employ 1 to 10 people and 30.61% employ 11 to 50. On Acuity Scheduling the same bands are 86.01% and 11.62%. The gap is the business model. A studio running a timetable needs instructors and front-desk staff; an Acuity user is more often a practitioner selling their own hour.
The base is older, too. 53.85% of those with a founding year started in the 2010s and 23.59% in the 2000s; only 16.72% are from the 2020s, against 28.45% on Acuity. The oldest names on our list are dance companies, American Ballet Theatre (1940 in our company data) and Richmond Ballet (1957), both loading Mindbody's widget script on their main sites.
Sales signal: the buyer is a studio owner or manager with staff, not a solo practitioner. Filter to 11 to 50 employees for the 675 companies with a team to schedule and pay.
One vertical, one franchise
Wellness and Fitness Services is 57.21% of matched companies and Health, Wellness & Fitness another 14.65%: two LinkedIn labels for the same trade, 71.86% together. The domain names say the same. Of 2,819 live domains, more than 500 contain "yoga", more than 200 each contain "fitness" and "pilates", and 121 contain "spa".
The one multi-site brand of note is We Rock the Spectrum, a franchise of sensory gyms for children, on 31 domains, 1.1% of the base. Every franchisee runs its own Mindbody site, so each is a real customer location, but count the brand once. No other brand reaches more than a handful of domains.
Geography is English-speaking, with one twist. The United States has 1,535 matched companies, then Australia (188), Canada (179) and the United Kingdom (129). Acuity Scheduling's order is US, UK, Australia, Canada.
Sales signal: vertical tools can sell to this list with little filtering. Australia is the second market, ahead of Canada and the UK, and worth its own pitch.
Rivals, and where leavers go
Mindbody ranks #11 of 132 in Appointment Scheduling with 1%. The table is a mix: Calendly leads with 179,831 domains but books meetings, and the rest of the top ten includes tour, doctor and Shopify booking apps. The tools studios compare Mindbody with are smaller in our crawl: Boulevard (2,105), Momence (870), Glofox (419), Zen Planner (260) and Walla (126). vcita reaches small businesses another way: its profile shows 87.4% of its sites also running Duda, which points to sales through Duda's agency channel.
Switching is too thin to publish as a table. Mindbody is gone from every host on 262 domains since March 2026. The most common booking tool among them is Momence, on 5, then Walla (4), Calendly (3) and Boulevard (3). None runs Acuity Scheduling. Most leavers show no booking tool we detect at all, which can mean app-only booking, a closed studio or a tool we don't yet track.
"Of 262 sites that dropped Mindbody since March, no single rival has taken more than five. Studios leave one at a time, for different tools, and many stop embedding booking at all." - Emma Davies, Data Analyst at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: there is no single competitor to position against. Momence turns up most often among leavers, so studio tools can use it as the comparison, but the churn is spread thin.
The website around the widget
WordPress runs on 49.7% of live Mindbody domains and Squarespace on 27.53%, with Elementor on 15.86%. That is a different builder mix from Acuity Scheduling, where Squarespace, Acuity's owner, is on 55.82%. GoDaddy hosts 35.05% and WP Engine 5.57%.
Studios spend on ads: the Facebook Pixel is on 39.27%, Google Ads conversion tracking on 9.15% and Google call conversion tracking on 3.23%, which fits businesses that still take bookings by phone. We keep Mixpanel (67.12%), Pendo (13.59%) and Bowtie (25.58%) out of the stack table. Mindbody's widgets load Mixpanel and Pendo, and Bowtie, a company Mindbody bought in 2019, loads with the Messenger assistant, so those numbers describe Mindbody itself.
Sales signal: half these studios run WordPress, so plugins and developers that work with Mindbody's widgets on WordPress reach the largest group. Four in ten already pay for Meta ads.
What G2 reviewers say
Mindbody rates 3.8 out of 5 across 590 G2 reviews. Ease of use leads the praise with 53 mentions and responsive support follows with 36. The complaints are about fit: updates that disrupt established workflows (25), missing features (23) and cost, including transaction fees (19). Mindbody's pricing page starts at $79 a month per location and charges 20%, capped at $30, on a new client's first purchase through its app. In a base where 65.9% employ ten people or fewer, those fees add up.
Sales signal: rivals pitch against cost and update fatigue. The 1,453 matched companies with ten or fewer staff are the likeliest to listen.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who uses Mindbody?
Fitness and wellness studios, mostly: yoga, pilates, barre, boxing, dance and spas. Our September 2026 crawl finds Mindbody's booking widgets on 2,809 websites, 2,268 matched to a company, and 71.86% of those are fitness and wellness businesses. Named users include American Ballet Theatre, Rumble Boxing, Jetts Fitness in New Zealand and UFIT in Singapore. 65.9% employ 1 to 10 people and 30.61% employ 11 to 50.
How many customers does Mindbody have?
Mindbody says more than 40,000 businesses run on it, and its parent Playlist gave the same figure when its EGYM merger closed in March 2026. Our crawl finds Mindbody's widgets on 2,809 websites, about 7% of that, because we only see studios that embed booking on their own site. Studios that book only through the app or a link are invisible to us.
What is Mindbody's market share?
Mindbody holds 1% of the Appointment Scheduling category and ranks #11 of the 132 technologies we track there. That table mixes very different tools: Calendly leads with 63.87% on 179,831 domains, but it books meetings, not classes. Among booking tools built for studios and salons, Mindbody's 2,809 sites lead Boulevard (2,105), Momence (870) and Glofox (419).
What are the best alternatives to Mindbody?
Studios usually compare studio software first. In our crawl that means Boulevard (2,105 domains, aimed at salons and spas), Momence (870), Glofox (419) and Zen Planner (260); WellnessLiving and Vagaro are common picks we don't yet detect. Acuity Scheduling (3,983) suits practitioners booking appointments rather than classes. Among 262 domains that dropped Mindbody since March 2026, the most common replacement was Momence, on 5.
Which countries use Mindbody the most?
United States leads with 1,535 matched Mindbody domains, followed by Australia (188), Canada (179), United Kingdom (129), France (29). These are counts within the 2,268 domains we could match to a company record, not the full detected base.

How much does Mindbody cost?
Mindbody's pricing page (September 2026) lists plans starting at $79 a month per location, across three tiers: Starter, Accelerate and Ultimate. It prices per location rather than per user, so adding staff doesn't raise the bill, and prices above the starting point come after a sales call. A client the Mindbody app brings in costs 20% of their first purchase, capped at $30.
Is Mindbody the same as ClassPass?
No, but they share an owner. Mindbody is software a studio runs its business on; ClassPass is a consumer membership that sells credits for classes at many studios. Mindbody bought ClassPass in October 2021, and both now sit under Playlist. Our crawl counts only studios that embed Mindbody's own booking widgets, so a studio listed on ClassPass alone doesn't appear here.
Are Booker and Mindbody the same?
They are sister products. Mindbody bought Booker, software for salons and spas, for $150 million in 2018, and both are now Playlist brands, with Mindbody aimed at fitness and wellness and Booker at spas and salons. This page counts Mindbody only, so a spa running Booker isn't here, though spas that embed Mindbody's widgets, such as Heavenly Touch Day Spa, are.
Does Mindbody get you clients?
It can. Mindbody says more than 3 million people use its consumer app to search for and book classes, and listing a business there is free. You pay only when the app brings in a client who is new to you: 20% of their first purchase, capped at $30. Our crawl measures the other channel, the studio's own website, where 2,809 sites embed Mindbody's booking widgets.
Is Mindbody better than Acuity Scheduling?
They fit different businesses. Mindbody's matched users are 71.86% fitness and wellness, and 30.61% employ 11 to 50 people, the shape of a studio with instructors and a timetable. Acuity Scheduling's spread across wellness, medical practices and coaching, with no industry above 9%, and 86.01% have ten or fewer staff. None of the 262 domains that dropped Mindbody since March 2026 now runs Acuity.
How can you tell if a website uses Mindbody?
Look for Mindbody's widget script, healcode.js, loaded from widgets.mindbodyonline.com or widgets.healcode.com, a healcode-widget element in the page, or requests to brandedweb-assets or messenger.mindbodyonline.com. That is what TechnologyChecker.io detects. Healcode was a widget company Mindbody bought in 2016, which is why the name lives on in the code. A plain link to a Mindbody booking page isn't counted.
