Companies Using BambooHR

I'm David Thomson, CTO at TechnologyChecker.io, and I run the detection rules behind this page. This profile is built on an audited subset of what our detection matched. Our September 26, 2026 check counts 1,775 websites that link to or embed their own BambooHR account, about 1,262 accounts in all, and 1,409 of those websites match a company record (79.4%). A looser test matched 5,961 the same day; most of the gap was one ClickFunnels footer link and two shared security headers, as the method section above shows.

What we can see, and what we can't

BambooHR is internal software. Employee records, time off, payroll and performance reviews all sit behind a login, out of a crawler's reach. Hiring is the exception. Every BambooHR account comes with an applicant tracking system and a hosted careers page at name.bamboohr.com, and employers link to it from their own sites. That link is the whole signal. The large majority of the 1,775 point to a careers or jobs page, and a minority link to the staff login page instead.

The count is a floor, and a low one. BambooHR says it has more than 30,000 customers, and our 1,262 accounts are about 4% of that. The rest hire through another channel, don't link their careers page from the page we crawl, or keep BambooHR for HR while hiring through another tool.

Sales Signal: A BambooHR careers link marks a company with a live job board, usually run by a small HR team that picked simplicity over configuration. For recruiting and onboarding vendors, that's a sharper trigger than the HR system alone.

Customer profile

These are small and mid-sized employers. Of 1,384 matched companies with a size on record, 39.45% have 11 to 50 employees and 30.2% have 51 to 200, so 69.65% fall between 11 and 200. Another 20.59% have 10 or fewer, and only 18 companies have more than 1,000 staff. BambooHR describes its sweet spot as roughly 50 to 500 employees. In our data the 51 to 500 bands hold 36.99%, while 60.04% of companies have 50 or fewer.

They aren't young, either. The 2010s are the largest founding decade at 36.55%, but 52.71% were founded before 2010 and just 10.74% in the 2020s. Big employers such as Aboitiz Equity Ventures (10,001+ employees) and Orkin (5,001 to 10,000) are the exceptions.

Sales Signal: The typical account is an established company of 11 to 200 people that probably has no dedicated HR operations team. Sell it time back, not configurability.

Industry and geographic concentration

No industry reaches 10%. Construction leads at 8.08%, then IT Services and IT Consulting (5.7%), Software Development (5.31%), Hospitals and Health Care (4.08%) and Financial Services (3.7%). Construction at the top of an HR list looks odd until you remember what we measure. Contractors such as Ace Electric and Tri-City Electrical Contractors tend to hire field staff continually, and each opening goes up on a public careers page.

Geography is North American. The United States has 919 of the 1,409 matched companies and Canada 142, 1,061 between them. The UK follows with 80, then New Zealand (19) and Australia (17). BambooHR's payroll and benefits add-ons cover US employees only, so Canadian companies buy it as an HR and hiring system and pay their people through something else.

Sales Signal: Canada is the underworked segment. Its 142 BambooHR companies need a separate payroll, which leaves room for Canadian payroll and benefits providers that integrate with BambooHR.

Why there is no migration table

The flows we found from BambooHR to other hiring tools were too small to publish, and on this subset churn can't be measured cleanly anyway. A company that leaves BambooHR takes its careers link down, and with it the evidence that it was ever a customer. That's why the page shows no leaver figure. It isn't a claim that nobody left.

There's a second trap. A company can keep BambooHR for HR and move hiring to a specialist tracker such as Lever, Recruitee or Greenhouse. Its careers link then points somewhere else, and it drops out of this count while still paying BambooHR.

Sales Signal: For applicant tracking vendors, BambooHR's built-in hiring module is the thing to displace. Aim at BambooHR companies whose hiring has outgrown the bundled module; many of them may keep BambooHR for everything else.

Technology ecosystem

Measured on the same 1,775 websites, WordPress runs on 42.87%, with Elementor on 12.17% and Wix on 9.41%. Email splits between Microsoft 365 (38.7%) and Google Workspace (31.38%), the same order we find across the wider web in our Google vs Microsoft market share analysis. GoDaddy hosts 28.17% of the sites. HubSpot appears on 18.54% and Pardot on 2.87%, with Facebook Pixel on 20.56% and the LinkedIn Insight Tag on 13.86%.

Sales Signal: WordPress on shared hosting, with HubSpot on fewer than one site in five, is a small-business web stack. A product sold into this base should install as a WordPress plugin or a copy-paste snippet.

G2 review signals

BambooHR rates 4.4 out of 5 from 6,779 G2 reviews (September 26, 2026). All five of its top praise themes are about ease: ease of use leads with 1,527 mentions, then a simple interface (680) and intuitive design (500). The complaints are about depth: limited features (320), limited customization (316), missing features (238) and integration issues (188).

That split fits the base we measure. 60.04% of matched companies have 50 or fewer staff, the size where ease counts for more than configuration. The depth complaints are what you'd expect from the minority that has outgrown the defaults, though G2 doesn't tell us which reviewers wrote them.

Sales Signal: Pitch depth where BambooHR's own users say it's missing: reporting, custom workflows and integrations. Pitching ease against BambooHR means pitching into its strongest point.

Competitive angle: keep companies whose careers pages run on Workday or ADP Workforce Now on a separate list. They bought a larger suite, and a pitch sized for BambooHR companies won't fit them.
