Companies Using Sucuri

Our live crawl finds 94,055 websites using Sucuri, the website firewall owned by GoDaddy, and matches 70,274 of them to a company record. The companies using Sucuri are mostly small: 58.08% employ ten people or fewer, and 73.18% of Sucuri domains keep their DNS or email at GoDaddy. This list of companies using Sucuri breaks that base down by size, country, industry and tech stack.

Sucuri ranks first in WAF & DDoS Protection with a 39.32% share, narrowly ahead of DDoS-Guard. The top companies using Sucuri include Berkshire Hathaway, Sasol and Indian Oil on their main domains, while other brands that use Sucuri, such as Deloitte and Red Hat, run it on a single subdomain. Sucuri Usage Statistics

Our live crawl detected Sucuri on 94,055 active domains in September 2026, up from 77,614 in June. Most of that rise came in one step between June and July, and it reflects changes on our side, both the set of domains we crawl and the signals we detect Sucuri with, more than a burst of new customers. The months since are the steadier read: 91,538 in July to 94,055 in September, a gain of 2,517 domains.

Treat the line as a trend rather than a same-domain comparison, because the domains we crawl turn over every month as dead sites drop out and newly discovered ones are added. We re-checked a random sample of 50 current Sucuri domains on September 15, 2026, and 45 still returned Sucuri's firewall header.

List of Companies Using Sucuri

Our list of companies using Sucuri on TechnologyChecker.io is sorted by company size, so the largest brands that use Sucuri come first: Deloitte, Indian Oil, Red Hat, RSM and Sasol among them. Check the detection column before you read anything into a logo. Many websites using Sucuri at large companies are career pages, campaign sites and blogs, such as job.deloitte.com, coolstuff.redhat.com and technologyblog.rsmus.com, rather than the corporate perimeter. Others, including berkshirehathaway.com, sasol.com and www.iocl.com, do put the main domain behind Sucuri.

Which Countries Use Sucuri the Most?

Which countries use Sucuri the most? The United States dominates, with 49,311 of the 70,274 companies we matched (70.17%). Canada (3,919) and the United Kingdom (3,173) follow, and the US, Canada, the UK, Australia and Ireland together account for 83.21% of the matched base, which fits a product distributed through a US registrar. The surprise is the United Arab Emirates in sixth place with 790, ahead of Italy, Mexico and Germany, based on our enriched company data.

Sucuri Market Share Among WAF & DDoS Protection

What is Sucuri's market share? Sucuri holds a 39.32% share of the WAF & DDoS Protection market, ranking #1 of 18 tracked technologies and just 1.56 points ahead of DDoS-Guard (37.76%), based on our monthly crawl of roughly 29.9 million live domains at TechnologyChecker.io. Read that lead with one caveat. Cloudflare's firewall isn't in this category, because we classify Cloudflare under CDN, so first place here doesn't mean Sucuri outranks Cloudflare. The lead is built on volume: small-business WordPress sites, many of them on GoDaddy, with 58.08% of matched companies employing ten people or fewer.

Sucuri Customers by Company Size & Age

Is Sucuri only for small businesses? Mostly, yes. 58.08% of Sucuri customers have 1-10 employees and another 26.33% have 11-50, so 84.41% of the 67,901 companies with a size on record employ 50 people or fewer, from our analysis of 70,274 enriched companies. Larger buyers exist but are rare. Just 1,052 companies (1.55%) employ more than 1,000 people, and that group includes Berkshire Hathaway, Sasol and Indian Oil, which each route their main corporate domain through Sucuri.

Company Size Distribution

Company Age (Founded Decade)

Sucuri's customers are established small firms rather than startups. The 2010s are the largest founding decade at 34.79%, followed by the 2000s at 23.38%, while only 7.98% were founded in the 2020s. Another 21.18% predate 1990. Put that next to the size data and you get local businesses that have been trading for a decade or more, the kind of customer a registrar can offer a security add-on to, based on our enriched company data.

What Industries Use Sucuri the Most?

Construction is the largest industry at 5.48%, followed by Medical Practices (3.61%) and IT Services and IT Consulting (3.2%). No single industry reaches 6%, so Sucuri is horizontal. The mix still tilts toward local services: construction and real estate together reach 8.5%, and medical practices plus hospitals and health care add 6.3%, based on our enriched company data at TechnologyChecker.io.

Construction3,228 (5.48%)
Medical Practices2,129 (3.61%)
IT Services and IT Consulting1,889 (3.2%)
Real Estate1,782 (3.02%)
Hospitals and Health Care1,583 (2.69%)
Financial Services1,561 (2.65%)

Construction companies using Sucuri form its largest vertical at 5.48%, and named examples such as MEB and AFCONS Infrastructure run it on their main domains. Healthcare organisations using Sucuri run from medical practices (3.61%) to hospital systems such as Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and Hamilton Health Sciences, while the Nemours detection sits on its blog subdomain. Real estate companies on Sucuri account for 3.02%, including Lodha Group on www.lodhagroup.com, based on our enriched company data.

Sucuri Alternatives & Competitors

Sucuri and DDoS-Guard hold 77.08% of the WAF & DDoS Protection category between them, based on our market share data across roughly 29.9 million crawled domains. DDoS-Guard (37.76%) sits just 3,738 domains behind Sucuri. Imperva (12.05%) and Akamai Web Application Protector (4.63%) are much smaller by domain count, with SiteLock (2.22%) and Variti (1.5%) behind them. The rival missing from this table is Cloudflare, which we classify under CDN rather than in this category.

Tech Stack of Sucuri-Powered Websites

Sucuri's stack is mostly a GoDaddy stack. 73.18% of Sucuri domains keep their DNS or email at GoDaddy, about five times GoDaddy's share of all the domains we crawl, and 18.25% are built on GoDaddy Website Builder. WordPress runs on 76.19%, and Cloudflare shows up on 27.06% through stacked setups or other hostnames.

The web server figures look tiny for a mechanical reason, not a preference. Sucuri's proxy replaces the origin's Server header with its own, so LiteSpeed (1.91%), Apache (1.55%) and Nginx (1.1%) are mostly hidden from view, based on our live crawl at TechnologyChecker.io.

Expert Analysis: Sucuri Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

Mehmet Suleyman
Mehmet SuleymanCEO & Co-founder, TechnologyChecker

I'm Mehmet Suleyman, CEO and co-founder of TechnologyChecker.io. Before starting the company I worked at Microsoft, first on the Bing search team and then on its AI team, which is where I got hands-on with web crawling infrastructure. This analysis covers 94,055 active Sucuri domains from our September 2026 crawl, 70,274 of which we matched to a company record, a 74.7% match rate. Sucuri is one of the easier technologies to measure honestly. Its firewall is a reverse proxy, so every site behind it answers with Sucuri's own response headers, and nothing depends on a script running in a browser. On September 15, 2026 we re-checked a random sample of 50 current Sucuri domains, and 45 still returned Sucuri's firewall header. The count on this page is sites routed through that firewall, not site-seal badges or scanner accounts.

Growth trajectory

Our records show Sucuri on 77,614 domains in June 2026, 91,538 in July, 92,446 in August and 94,055 in September. Don't read the June-to-July jump as a sales surge. That step reflects changes on our side, both the domains we cover and the signals we detect Sucuri with. The two months after it are the better growth read, and they add 2,517 domains, about 2.7%. Even that isn't a same-domain comparison, because the set of domains we crawl turns over every month as dead sites drop out and new ones are added.

Scale is the clearer story. Sucuri ranks first of 18 technologies in the WAF & DDoS Protection category with 39.32%, just ahead of DDoS-Guard at 37.76%, a DDoS protection and hosting provider that has operated since 2011 according to its company page. Imperva is third at 12.05%. One caveat changes how you should read the rank. Cloudflare's firewall isn't in this category, because we classify Cloudflare under CDN, so first place here doesn't mean Sucuri outranks Cloudflare.

"Sucuri tops its category on volume, and nearly three in four of those domains keep their DNS or email at GoDaddy. For a seller, that second number says more about this list than the rank does." - Mehmet Suleyman, CEO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io

Sales Signal: This is a steady installed base, not an expanding one. Time outreach to account events you can observe, such as a DNS or hosting change, rather than to a growth wave the data doesn't show.

The GoDaddy channel

GoDaddy announced its acquisition of Sucuri in March 2017 and, three months later, launched GoDaddy Website Security, powered by Sucuri. GoDaddy's help center still describes that product's firewall as the Sucuri Firewall. Our data shows how heavily the channel shapes the base. 73.18% of Sucuri domains keep their DNS or email at GoDaddy, against roughly 15% of all the domains we crawl, so Sucuri's customers are about five times more GoDaddy-concentrated than the web as a whole. Another 18.25% are built on GoDaddy Website Builder.

That changes who the buyer is. Many of these owners likely bought "website security" as a line item from GoDaddy rather than choosing Sucuri by name. Sucuri's own customer stories page points the same way, featuring agencies, hosts and maintenance services such as Kinsta, Webhosting.net, WP Maintain and ITW Consulting instead of enterprise logos.

Sales Signal: Pitch the category, not the brand. An owner who added protection through GoDaddy thinks of it as part of the hosting bill, so a conversation about what they pay their registrar for security lands better than a Sucuri feature comparison.

Customer profile

The size data is lopsided. 58.08% of matched companies have 1-10 employees and 26.33% have 11-50, so 84.41% of the 67,901 firms with a size on record employ 50 people or fewer. They aren't young, though. The 2010s are the largest founding decade at 34.79%, the 2000s add 23.38%, and only 7.98% were founded in the 2020s. The largest industries are construction, medical practices and IT consulting, so the typical account is a local firm that has been trading for a decade or more.

The large accounts need careful reading. At the top of the company list, Deloitte, Red Hat and RSM appear through subdomains: job.deloitte.com, coolstuff.redhat.com and technologyblog.rsmus.com. Subdomains like these tend to be career pages, campaign sites and blogs sitting behind a firewall, not the corporate perimeter. A smaller group does protect the main domain. When we re-checked them on September 15, 2026, berkshirehathaway.com, sasol.com, www.iocl.com, energizerholdings.com and mapleleaffoods.com each still returned Sucuri's firewall header. Across the whole matched base, just 1,052 companies (1.55%) employ more than 1,000 people.

Sales Signal: Treat an enterprise detection as a way into one team, not as a company-wide security decision. The volume is in the sub-50-employee tier, where the person who approved the firewall is likely the same person who owns the business.

Industry and geographic concentration

No industry reaches 6%. Construction leads at 5.48%, then Medical Practices at 3.61% and IT Services and IT Consulting at 3.2%. Cluster them and a local-service tilt appears: construction plus real estate reach 8.5%, and medical practices plus hospitals and health care reach 6.3%. Geography is far more concentrated. 49,311 of the 70,274 matched companies are in the United States, and the US, Canada, the UK, Australia and Ireland together account for 83.21%. The outlier is the United Arab Emirates, sixth with 790 companies, ahead of Italy (662), Mexico (599) and Germany (477).

Sales Signal: Build North American lists by vertical. Construction and healthcare practices carry the most volume, and a clinic that handles patient data already has a reason to talk about security. The UAE cluster is small enough to work account by account.

Where departing sites go

Our records show 7,863 domains that have stopped showing the Sucuri signal since mid-March 2026. We don't publish a switching table for Sucuri, and the reason is worth spelling out. Among domains that stopped routing through Sucuri, 44% now show Cloudflare, against 27% of those still on Sucuri. That gap is real. But Cloudflare already sits on more than a quarter of Sucuri's current base, so a good part of that 44% is what ordinary churn would produce anyway. The lift works out at roughly 1.6 times, below the threshold we use before calling a flow a migration corridor.

"Sites that leave Sucuri show Cloudflare more often than sites that stay, but Cloudflare is already on more than a quarter of the ones that stay. That's a tilt, not a corridor, and I'd rather say so than sell you a migration story." - Mehmet Suleyman, CEO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io

Sales Signal: If you sell CDN migrations or Cloudflare services, domains that recently dropped Sucuri are a reasonable list, but qualify each one. Sucuri's own Cloudflare setup guide shows the two are designed to run together, and 27.06% of current Sucuri domains already show Cloudflare, which makes many of them a consolidation conversation rather than a replacement.

Technology ecosystem

The stack is small-business WordPress. WordPress runs on 76.19% of Sucuri domains, against 1.41% for Joomla and 1.08% for Drupal. reCAPTCHA appears on 19.5%, far ahead of Cloudflare Turnstile (0.74%) and hCaptcha (0.32%), so most owners who protect a form still use Google's widget. The web server figures need an explanation before anyone quotes them. LiteSpeed shows on 1.91%, Apache on 1.55% and Nginx on 1.1%, which looks as if almost nobody runs a web server. The real cause is the proxy: Sucuri replaces the origin's Server header with Sucuri/Cloudproxy, so the server underneath is hidden from anyone reading the response, us included. Our guide to technology detection methods explains how header-based signals work.

Sales Signal: Don't build hosting or web-server displacement lists from Sucuri domains using server headers, because they'll come back nearly empty. Use DNS and CMS signals instead, where GoDaddy and WordPress show up clearly.

G2 review signals

Review data is thin for a product this widely deployed. Sucuri's G2 listing averages 3.3 out of 5 across 48 reviews as of September 2026, and each theme in G2's AI summary rests on a single mention, so we haven't published a pros-and-cons table on this page. The themes still line up with our data. Praise centres on price and on getting a firewall, CDN and backups in one plan, which fits a base where 58.08% of companies have ten or fewer staff. The complaints include setup effort, and that matches how the product works, since activating the firewall means changing DNS records. Set 48 reviews against 94,055 domains and the channel story appears again: a base this GoDaddy-heavy is consistent with owners who bought through their registrar rather than from Sucuri directly.

Sales Signal: Sell simplicity and support, not detection quality. Setup effort and slow support responses are what a small owner remembers, and a managed offer that handles the DNS change removes the main friction.

Key takeaways

1. First by domain count at 39.32%, but only 1.56 points ahead of DDoS-Guard, and Cloudflare isn't in the category.
2. GoDaddy is the channel: 73.18% of Sucuri domains keep DNS or email there, about five times the rate across the web.
3. The base is small business, with 84.41% of sized companies at 50 employees or fewer.
4. Big-brand detections are often subdomains, though Berkshire Hathaway, Sasol and Indian Oil run their main domains through Sucuri.
5. Departing domains tilt toward Cloudflare: 44% now show it, against 27% of those still on Sucuri, a lift too small to call a corridor.

Sales applications

Outreach angle: "Your site runs through a Sucuri firewall and your DNS is at GoDaddy. That combination shows up on about three in four Sucuri sites we track. Worth fifteen minutes to check what you're paying for and whether it covers what you need?" Targeting: on TechnologyChecker.io, filter this list to the United States and Canada, 11-200 employees, in construction, medical practices and real estate, then intersect with WordPress. Competitive angle: domains that dropped Sucuri recently have just changed their edge setup, which makes them a timely list for anyone selling CDN, firewall or managed security services.

Every figure above comes from our own crawl and enrichment: 94,055 active Sucuri domains and 70,274 matched companies. Filter the list by size, country and industry, or compare it with the rest of the WAF & DDoS Protection category on TechnologyChecker.io.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who uses Sucuri?

We detect Sucuri on 94,055 domains, including Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited, Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Quess Corp. A detection means the technology is present on that domain, which for large organisations is often a single storefront or subdomain rather than a company-wide deployment. Among domains we matched to a company with a resolved industry, the most common is Construction (5.48%).

How many customers does Sucuri have?

We detect 94,055 domains running Sucuri across our monthly crawl of live business domains. Company data could be matched for 70,274 of them (74.7%), and every company-size, industry and country breakdown on this page describes that matched subset rather than the full detected base. A further 7,863 domains carried a Sucuri detection previously and no longer do.

What is Sucuri's market share?

Sucuri holds 39.32% of the WAF & DDoS Protection category, ranking #1. This is a share of the domains we detect running a platform in this category — not a share of all websites, and not a share of spending — so it is not directly comparable to figures published on other denominators.

What are the best alternatives to Sucuri?

The top alternatives to Sucuri include DDoS-Guard (37.76% market share), Imperva (12.05% market share), Akamai Web Application Protector (4.63% market share), SiteLock (2.22% market share) — measured as a share of the domains we detect running a platform in this category.

Which countries use Sucuri the most?

United States leads with 49,311 matched Sucuri domains, followed by Canada (3,919), United Kingdom (3,173), India (1,855), Australia (1,793). These are counts within the 70,274 domains we could match to a company record, not the full detected base.

What size companies use Sucuri?

The most common company size is 1-10 employees, representing 58.08% of the Sucuri domains we could match to a company record and size — a subset of 70,274 matched companies, not of all 94,055 detected domains. This is followed by 11-50 employees (26.33%) and 51-200 employees (9.46%).

How old are companies that use Sucuri?

Among the Sucuri domains we could match to a company with a known founding date, the largest group was founded in the 2010s (34.79%), followed by the 2000s (23.38%). That matched subset is drawn from 70,274 companies and is not representative of all 94,055 detected domains. This suggests Sucuri is most popular among relatively young companies.

What is the ideal customer profile for Sucuri?

The ideal Sucuri customer is: Company Size: 1-10 employees, Location: US, Canada, or UK, Founded: 2000-2019, Industry: Construction, medical practices, Stack: WordPress, GoDaddy DNS — based on our analysis of 70,274 enriched companies at TechnologyChecker.io.

Is Sucuri owned by GoDaddy?

Yes. GoDaddy announced it was acquiring Sucuri on March 22, 2017, and launched GoDaddy Website Security, powered by Sucuri, that June. GoDaddy's help center still describes the product's firewall as the Sucuri Firewall. The link shows in our data too: 73.18% of Sucuri-protected domains keep their DNS or email at GoDaddy, roughly five times GoDaddy's share of all the domains we crawl.

Is Sucuri trustworthy?

Sucuri is an established website security company, co-founded by Daniel Cid and Tony Perez and owned by GoDaddy since 2017. Our live crawl finds it in front of 94,055 active domains, including main corporate sites for Berkshire Hathaway and Sasol. Review sentiment is more mixed: its G2 listing averages 3.3 out of 5 across 48 reviews, with setup effort and support response times among the complaints.

What is the Sucuri Website Firewall?

It's a cloud web application firewall that sits between visitors and your hosting server. You activate it by pointing your DNS at Sucuri, which then inspects each request, blocks attacks and caches content on its own CDN before passing clean traffic to your origin. Because traffic runs through Sucuri, protected sites answer with a Server: Sucuri/Cloudproxy header instead of their own.

Why is Sucuri blocking me?

The site you're visiting routes its traffic through Sucuri's firewall, and your request either matched a security rule or tripped its intrusion detection. Sucuri's documentation lists triggers such as 20 failed logins within a few minutes or a burst of error responses. VPN and shared IP addresses can inherit someone else's behaviour. Intrusion detection blocks last 20 minutes, according to Sucuri.

How do I fix Access Denied - Sucuri Website Firewall?

As a visitor, switch off any VPN or proxy, wait 20 minutes for an intrusion detection block to clear, then retry. If it keeps happening, copy the full text of the block page, including the block ID, and send it with your IP address to the site owner, because only they control the rules. Owners can whitelist an IP address in the Sucuri firewall dashboard.

How much does Sucuri cost?

On sucuri.net in September 2026, the standalone Website Firewall costs $9.99 a month on the Basic plan and $19.98 on Pro. The Website Security Platform, which adds malware cleanup and monitoring, runs $229, $339 or $549 a year across its Basic, Pro and Business tiers. Agencies covering ten or more sites get custom pricing, and GoDaddy sells its own version as Website Security.

Is Sucuri free?

Partly. SiteCheck, Sucuri's remote malware and blocklist scanner, is free, and so is the Sucuri Security WordPress plugin, which WordPress.org lists at 600,000+ active installations. The firewall is a paid product. That difference matters for the numbers on TechnologyChecker.io: the 94,055 domains we count are sites routed through Sucuri's firewall proxy, not free scanner or plugin users.

How can I tell if a website uses Sucuri?

Check the HTTP response headers. A site behind the Sucuri firewall returns Server: Sucuri/Cloudproxy along with an X-Sucuri-ID header, and cached responses add X-Sucuri-Cache. Because these arrive on the response itself, you don't need a browser to spot them. When we re-checked a random sample of 50 Sucuri domains in September 2026, 45 still returned that firewall header.

Why do so many Sucuri sites use GoDaddy?

Because GoDaddy owns Sucuri and sells it as GoDaddy Website Security. In our data, 73.18% of Sucuri domains keep their DNS or email with GoDaddy, against roughly 15% of all the domains we crawl, and 18.25% are built on GoDaddy Website Builder. For much of this base, Sucuri probably arrived as a GoDaddy add-on rather than as a separate security purchase.

Can you use Sucuri and Cloudflare together?

Yes. Sucuri publishes a setup guide for placing Cloudflare in front of its firewall, with one known limitation: Sucuri can't block DDoS attackers by IP at network level, because requests arrive from Cloudflare's addresses. The pairing is common. Our live crawl finds Cloudflare on 27.06% of current Sucuri domains, either stacked on the same site or used on other hostnames.

What is the difference between Sucuri and Wordfence?

They filter traffic in different places. Sucuri is a cloud firewall: you change your DNS and requests are inspected on Sucuri's network before they reach your server. Wordfence runs an endpoint firewall inside WordPress on your own server. So Sucuri can soak up attack traffic away from the host, while Wordfence can see who is logged in when it makes a blocking decision.

Is Sucuri good for WordPress sites?

WordPress is where most of Sucuri's base lives: 76.19% of Sucuri-protected domains in our data run it. Sucuri also maintains a free WordPress plugin for auditing, malware scanning and hardening. The plugin alone doesn't put a site behind the firewall, though. Full protection means routing DNS through Sucuri, and that firewall setup is what our 94,055-domain count measures.

Is Sucuri still used?

Yes. Our live crawl detected Sucuri on 94,055 active domains in September 2026, up from 92,446 in August. A random re-check of 50 of those domains found 45 still serving Sucuri's firewall header. Churn exists but is modest: 7,863 domains have stopped showing the Sucuri signal since mid-March 2026, against the 94,055 that are active today.

Is Sucuri the most popular website firewall?

Only within a narrow definition. Sucuri ranks first in our WAF & DDoS Protection category with a 39.32% share, ahead of DDoS-Guard at 37.76%. Cloudflare's firewall isn't counted there, because we classify Cloudflare under CDN, so the ranking doesn't show Sucuri outranking Cloudflare. In fact, 27.06% of Sucuri domains also show Cloudflare.
