Companies Using langify

langify is the biggest Shopify-only translation app in our category table. Its size is the least surprising number on this page. Our October 2026 crawl finds 7,376 live domains carrying langify's JavaScript object, and 2,607 of them match a company. When I opened 100 random domains in a browser on 15 October, 95 loaded and 92 carried langify: 53 through the current app block, all of them publishing two or more languages, and 39 through the older theme snippet, of which 27 publish two or more. Then I looked at the domains themselves.

Fewer stores than domains

2,130 of the 7,374 clean langify domains in our 15 October check (28.89%) repeat the page title of another langify domain, and when you open them they're the same store. La Guilde Culinaire, a Quebec cooking school and kitchen shop, answers on 95 domains. Textura Interiors on 26, FilterFinder on 22, Cole Haan's European store on 20 and Hello Archie on 19. Some are country domains, some are typo and alias domains. langify sells a custom domain per language, which explains part of it. For comparison, the same test gives 13.72% on Langwill's domains and 6.58% on ConveyThis's. Collapse the repeats and langify has about 5,200 storefronts.

The monthly line, 6,119 domains in June 2026 and 7,442 in July, then flat at 7,376 by October, needs the usual reading. The July step comes from our side: the domains we crawl turn over every month, dead sites out and newly found ones in, and our detection widened. 1,207 domains dropped langify since we began tracking it in March 2026, and 73 of them still run it on another hostname.

Sales signal: a flat line with 1,134 full exits in seven months is a mature base. This is a retention market, not a land-grab.

A Quebec app, in practice

Canada leads langify's matched companies with 507, ahead of Germany (320) and the United States (244). Montréal alone accounts for 188, and the Quebec cities in the top 15 (Montréal, Quebec City, Laval, Gatineau, Sherbrooke, Longueuil and others) add up to at least 256. The reason is legal. Éducaloi summarises Quebec's rule: a business with an address in Quebec that sells to Quebecers must have a French version of its website. Air Inuit, New Look Vision, Mobile Klinik and Canadian Tire's gift card site all run English and French stores through langify.

Sales signal: Quebec merchants translate because they must, so the decision to translate is already made. Pitch them on French quality, checkout translation and SEO, not on whether to translate.

Who the customers are

59.88% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 staff and 26.35% have 11 to 50. They're older than the other three Shopify translation apps we profiled: 14.59% were founded in the 2020s, against 35.96% on Langwill's profile. Retail labels add up to 29.8% of matched companies. The enterprise tail is real, 25 companies over 1,000 staff, but it runs langify on side stores: CD PROJEKT RED and BioWare on their gear stores, Guinness World Records on its merchandise store, Selecta on a German shop.

Sales signal: the side-store pattern means the langify buyer at a big company is an ecommerce or merchandising lead, not the web team. Target the store subdomain's owner.

Switching: overlap with Weglot, no corridor

202 langify domains run Weglot too, out of 281 ever seen with both. 31 run LangShop, 27 Transcy and 12 Langwill. More than 70% of each pair still run both, so our switching tests show no direction. A store layering two translation apps may be splitting jobs between them or testing a replacement. Shopify's own Translate & Adapt is the rival our crawl can't see: it's free, auto-translates two languages and leaves no storefront script.

Sales signal: treat langify drops as possible moves to Shopify's free app. A rival paid app has to beat free, which means selling third-party app translation and support, where langify's paid plans put their weight.

The stack around it

On 7,375 live domains, Shopify runs on 99.97%. Klaviyo's email is on 42.17%, about twice its share on Langwill's stores (20.51%), and Judge.me is on 22.89%. Google Analytics is on 78.17%. Pandectes, a consent app, is on 10.07%, about twice its rate on Langwill's domains.

Sales signal: these stores already pay for Klaviyo and review apps, and langify's Custom Content feature exists to translate third-party apps. Review and email vendors should check that their widgets translate cleanly with langify.

What the vendor says and what we see

langify GmbH & Co. KG says it has been on Shopify since 2014 and claims more than 10,000 stores; the App Store shows 4.7 stars from 727 reviews. Our roughly 5,200 storefronts is a live count taken in one month, so the two can both be true. The Free plan has no machine translation and no language switcher, which pushes stores that want either to Basic at $17.50 a month or above.

Targeting: on TechnologyChecker.io, filter langify domains to Canada and then to Quebec cities, or to Germany, France and Italy, and deduplicate store domains by title before you count accounts.

Outreach template: "Your store runs English and French through langify, like 187 other Montréal companies we track. [Product] works with langify's translated pages, so your French customers get the same experience at checkout."

Competitive angle: start with the 202 stores running langify and Weglot together. They pay for two translation tools and are the likeliest to consolidate.
