WP Courseware Usage Statistics
Our count reads 716 WP Courseware domains in June 2026, 833 in July, 867 in August, 893 in September and 897 in October. The June to July step comes from our side: the set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and newly found ones added, and our detection picked up more of the pages that load the plugin. Since August the line is close to flat. 88 domains have dropped it on at least one hostname since we began tracking on 16 March 2026, and 10 of them still run it on another.

Which Countries Use WP Courseware the Most?
Which countries use WP Courseware the most? The United States, with 182 matched companies, then the United Kingdom (66), Spain (37), the Netherlands (26), Australia (26) and Canada (24). The four English-speaking countries add up to 298 of the 500 matched companies. Spain and the Netherlands are the surprises in a list this small, and both show up among the named rows, such as Think Productivity in Valencia and ZSP Netwerk in Haarlem.
Share of the 500 WP Courseware domains we matched to a company record — 55.7% of the 897 we detect. Top 15 countries shown, so these do not sum to 100%. Domains with no matching company record are not represented here and skew small and independent.
WP Courseware Market Share Among Learning Management (LMS)
What is WP Courseware's market share? 0.93% of Learning Management (LMS), 15th of the 60 tools we track there, based on our live crawl at TechnologyChecker.io. Its rivals in this table are like-for-like, since all four are WordPress plugins counted the same way. LearnDash has 19,118 domains, ThimPress LearnPress 13,905, Tutor LMS 5,884 and LifterLMS 2,304, which is 2.57 times WP Courseware's 897.
Top Competitors by Market Share
WP Courseware Customers by Company Size & Age
What size companies use WP Courseware? Very small ones. 78.89% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 14.93% have 11 to 50, so 93.82% have 50 or fewer. Only 7 employ more than 200. Walker Products, the auto-parts maker, is one of them, and it runs WP Courseware on its main site for a training centre.
Company Size Distribution
Company Age (Founded Decade)
Half of matched companies (50.66%) were founded in the 2010s and 23.36% in the 2000s. Only 10.2% date from the 2020s, so this is a settled base of established small businesses rather than new course start-ups. The oldest named rows are the Georgia Historical Society (1839), Walker Products (1946) and the British engineering firm F.W. Marsh (1947).
What Industries Use WP Courseware the Most?
Professional Training and Coaching is the largest row at 13.01%, then E-Learning Providers (7.31%), Wellness and Fitness Services (6.16%) and Business Consulting and Services (6.16%), based on our enriched company data. The four teaching rows together make up only 26.26%, well under the 52.86% on Edwiser Bridge's page. The rest is spread thin across advertising, medical practices, financial services and manufacturing, companies that teach as a sideline.
Manufacturers using WP Courseware train dealers, mechanics or staff from their own site: Walker Products links a training centre and an O2 sensor certification, and Allmatic, the German maker of machine vices, links a training centre. Coaching and wellness businesses on WP Courseware sell certifications, as YogaKids International does for kids' yoga teachers and the iNLP Center for life coaches. Non-profits using WP Courseware include the Public Health Informatics Institute and MHFA Wales.
WP Courseware Alternatives & Competitors
All four rivals in this table are WordPress course plugins, so the comparison is direct, and WP Courseware is the smallest of the five. LearnDash (19,118 domains) is about 21 times its size and the plugin search results compare it with most. Very few sites run two of these at once. On the same domain we find WP Courseware with LearnDash 6 times, with LearnPress 5 times and with Tutor LMS twice, and never with LifterLMS.

Expert Analysis: WP Courseware Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

WP Courseware is a small product, and its numbers are small. Our October 2026 crawl counts a domain when a page on it loads the plugin's front-end script from /wp-content/plugins/wp-courseware/ or sets the course-notes settings object that script reads. That gives 897 domains, 15th of 60 in Learning Management (LMS), and 500 of them match a company record. The signal holds up. When I fetched a random 110 on 15 October, 100 loaded the plugin; 2 no longer resolve, 2 timed out, 4 showed bot or challenge pages and 2 loaded without it.
Small, paid and steady
WP Courseware has 0.93% of the category. LearnDash has 19,118 domains, about 21 times as many, and LifterLMS 2,304, about 2.6 times. WP Courseware has no free edition. Fly Plugins' product page (15 October 2026) sells three yearly licences: $159 for 2 sites, $199 for 10 and $279 for 25, each with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Nearly every domain here is a site where someone bought a licence at some point.
Sales signal: a paid-only plugin filters out hobby installs. Expect owners who budget for software, even if most are very small.
How the licence works
Two details in Fly Plugins' FAQ shape how to read the count. The smallest licence covers two sites, a live site and a staging copy, and one licence can cover up to 25. And the plugin keeps working after the licence year ends; renewing buys updates and support. So 897 domains is not 897 paying accounts this year. Some are likely lapsed licences still running, and some buyers hold several domains.
Sales signal: lapsed licences are an opening for rivals and for agencies. A site that stopped renewing is running a plugin that no longer gets WordPress compatibility updates.
A flat line
The chart reads 716 domains in June 2026, 833 in July, 867 in August, 893 in September and 897 in October. The early step is ours: the set of domains we crawl turns over every month, dead sites out and new ones in, and our detection picked up more pages that load the plugin. From August on, the count barely moves.
"WP Courseware is a steady, paid niche of about 900 sites. Nothing in our data shows it growing, and nothing shows it collapsing either." - Emma Davies, Data Analyst at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: work this list once and keep it. There's no growth curve to time.
Who runs it
78.89% of matched companies with a known size employ 1 to 10 people, and only 7 employ more than 200. The base is older than on the hosted course platforms: 50.66% were founded in the 2010s, 23.36% in the 2000s and only 10.2% in the 2020s, against 24.22% on Thinkific's profile. Teaching rows make up 26.26% of the industry table. The rest is small businesses teaching as a sideline. Walker Products, the auto-parts maker founded in 1946, links a training centre and an O2 sensor certification from its main site, and Allmatic, the German vice maker, does the same for its training centre. Herniamesh, an Italian surgical-mesh maker, and Australia's Port of Portland load the plugin too. Most of these sites run it on the main domain: only 77 of the 899 live domains carry WP Courseware solely on a subdomain, and Skillcrush's learn.skillcrush.com is one of them.
Sales signal: for many of these companies training is a side activity. Talk to them about dealer and customer education, not about selling courses.
American and British, with a Spanish and Dutch tail
The United States has 182 matched companies, the United Kingdom 66, Australia 26 and Canada 24, so 298 of the 500 are in those four countries. Spain (37) and the Netherlands (26) stand out in a list this small. Below them the counts drop to 19 or fewer per country.
Sales signal: keep campaigns in English and aim at the US and UK first. Spain and the Netherlands are worth a small test, not a localised programme.
No switching to report
We found no switching big enough to publish. On the same domain, WP Courseware runs with LearnDash 6 times, LearnPress 5 times and Tutor LMS twice, and never with LifterLMS. 88 domains have dropped it on at least one hostname since we began tracking on 16 March 2026, and 10 of those still run it on another hostname. Seven domains also run a Teachable school somewhere on the same domain. Those numbers are too small to call a trend in either direction.
"Eighty-eight drops in seven months on a base of about 900 sites is quiet. If WP Courseware customers are leaving for LearnDash, it isn't happening in volume." - Emma Davies, Data Analyst at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: a migration pitch to these sites needs a reason beyond features, such as a lapsed licence or a site rebuild. Without one, they tend to stay put.
The stack around it
WordPress is on 99.78% of the 899 domains live when we pulled the stack. 488 of them run WooCommerce, more than half, even though WP Courseware takes PayPal and Stripe itself, so many owners either sell courses through their store or sell other products beside them. Elementor is on 30.14%, Divi on 13.68% and Thrive Architect on 4.45%. Google Analytics runs on 62.63% and MonsterInsights on 7.34%.
Sales signal: WooCommerce extension sellers and Divi or Elementor add-on makers will find a fit here. The typical site is a small business's main WordPress site with a course section bolted on.
Key takeaways
1. 897 domains, 15th of 60, about a twenty-first of LearnDash's footprint.
2. Paid-only, sold in 2, 10 and 25-site licences that keep working after they lapse.
3. A very small, established base: 78.89% at 1 to 10 staff and 10.2% founded in the 2020s.
4. More than half the sites also run WooCommerce.
5. No measurable switching to or from rival plugins.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who uses WP Courseware?
Mostly very small businesses that sell or run training from their own WordPress site: coaches, trainers, wellness teachers and consultants. Our October 2026 crawl finds it on 897 domains. 78.89% of matched companies have 1 to 10 staff. Named users include Skillcrush, the Georgia Historical Society, YogaKids International and Walker Products, which trains on its main site.
How many customers does WP Courseware have?
Our October 2026 crawl finds WP Courseware on 897 domains, and we matched 500 of them to a company. Fly Plugins sells licences for 2, 10 or 25 sites, so one buyer can account for several domains. In a random sample of 110, 100 loaded the plugin on 15 October 2026. 88 domains have dropped it on some hostname since March 2026.
What is WP Courseware's market share?
0.93% of Learning Management (LMS), 15th of the 60 tools we track there, on 897 domains. Every rival in its table is also a WordPress plugin, so the gap is real: LearnDash has 19,118 domains, about 21 times as many, and LifterLMS, the closest in size, has 2,304. WP Courseware's line has been close to flat since August 2026.
What are the best alternatives to WP Courseware?
The other WordPress course plugins: LearnDash (19,118 domains on our crawl), ThimPress LearnPress (13,905), Tutor LMS (5,884) and LifterLMS (2,304). Each keeps courses inside your own WordPress site, as WP Courseware does. If you'd rather not run the site yourself, hosted platforms such as Teachable and Thinkific are the other route. Few sites mix two plugins: WP Courseware and LearnDash share 6 domains.
Which countries use WP Courseware the most?
The United States, with 182 matched companies, then the United Kingdom (66), Spain (37), the Netherlands (26), Australia (26) and Canada (24). The four English-speaking countries account for 298 of the 500 matched companies. Germany (19), India (12), Italy (9) and Norway (9) follow, so outside the top six the counts are small.
What size companies use WP Courseware?
Very small ones. 78.89% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 14.93% have 11 to 50, so 93.82% have 50 or fewer staff. Only 7 matched companies employ more than 200. Walker Products, one of them, uses it for a training centre on its main site.
How old are companies that use WP Courseware?
Established, mostly. Among matched companies with a known founding year, 50.66% were founded in the 2010s and 23.36% in the 2000s. Only 10.2% date from the 2020s, a small share for a course product. The oldest named rows are the Georgia Historical Society, founded in 1839, Walker Products (1946) and F.W. Marsh (1947).
What is the ideal customer profile for WP Courseware?
A coach, trainer or small training business with 1 to 10 staff, founded in the 2010s, in the United States or the United Kingdom, running a self-hosted WordPress site built with Elementor or Divi. More than half of WP Courseware domains also run WooCommerce (488 of 899), so many sell courses through a store they already have.
How much does WP Courseware cost?
Fly Plugins' product page, checked 15 October 2026, lists three yearly licences: Teacher at $159 for 2 sites, Professor at $199 for 10 sites and Guru at $279 for 25 sites. Each includes a year of support and updates and a 30-day money-back guarantee. The two-site licence is the smallest, covering a live site and a staging copy.
Is there a free version of WP Courseware?
No. Fly Plugins doesn't list a free edition, and its smallest licence is the two-site Teacher plan at $159 a year. You can try it before buying: the vendor's FAQ says you can look around the admin, build a course and take it as a student first. Every licence also has a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Do I have to renew WP Courseware each year?
Not for it to keep working. Fly Plugins' FAQ says the plugin keeps running after the licence year ends; renewing buys feature updates, bug fixes, WordPress compatibility updates and support. So a site we detect has bought a licence at some point, not necessarily this year. 88 domains have dropped WP Courseware on some hostname since March 2026.
Which WordPress LMS plugin is best?
Our data can't rank quality, but it shows use. Among WordPress course plugins in our Learning Management (LMS) table, LearnDash leads with 19,118 domains, then ThimPress LearnPress (13,905), Tutor LMS (5,884), LifterLMS (2,304) and WP Courseware (897). WP Courseware's buyers are very small and established: 78.89% have 1 to 10 staff and only 10.2% were founded in the 2020s.
What is courseware?
Courseware is the material a course is built from: lessons, units, quizzes and assignments, usually delivered online. WP Courseware applies the idea to WordPress. It adds a drag-and-drop builder for courses, modules and units, plus quizzes, drip content and certificates, per Fly Plugins' product page. Our October 2026 crawl finds it on 897 domains.
Does WP Courseware work with WooCommerce?
Yes. Fly Plugins says it connects to the membership and commerce plugins you already use, WooCommerce included, and it also takes PayPal and Stripe payments itself. On our crawl, 488 of the 899 domains where WP Courseware was live in mid-October 2026 also run WooCommerce, more than half, so selling through an existing store is common.
