Companies Using LearnPress
Our October 2026 crawl finds LearnPress on 13,905 live domains. It is the free WordPress course plugin from ThimPress, and close to half of the companies behind it are schools, universities or training businesses. Kennesaw State University uses it for continuing education, Clark County School District for a facility planning site, and Areandina in Colombia and Maseno University in Kenya for their virtual campuses. Below is the list of companies that use LearnPress, with size, country, industry and stack.
Almost a quarter of LearnPress sites arrive with a ThimPress theme: in a random sample of 86 homepages, 20 ran one, 16 of them Eduma. LearnPress holds 14.44% of Learning Management (LMS), 4th of the 60 tools we track and the second-largest WordPress plugin in the table after LearnDash. Its users are small, 66.23% with 1 to 10 staff, and unusually international: India (1,068 matched companies) almost ties the United States (1,158).

LearnPress Usage Statistics
LearnPress reads 11,083 domains in June 2026, 12,783 in July, 13,178 in August, 13,945 in September and 13,905 in October. Don't read the early climb as a wave of installs. The set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and newly found ones added, and our detection widens over time, so the June to September steps are partly changes on our side. September to October is flat. Since we began tracking LearnPress on 16 March 2026, 2,229 domains have dropped it on at least one hostname, and about 200 of those still run it on another.

The United States, with 1,158 matched companies, and India, with 1,068, then Spain (492), the United Kingdom (446), Brazil (322), Italy (307) and France (300). The near-tie is the unusual part. LearnPress Alternatives & Competitors
LearnDash leads our category table with 19,118 domains, about 1.4 times LearnPress, and Moodle has 16,955. Neither looks like a replacement. 194 LearnPress domains also run Moodle today, and in all 194 Moodle sits on a different hostname from LearnPress; 104 of the 141 we matched to a company carry an education label. 36 domains run LearnDash and LearnPress together, 33 run Tutor LMS (5,884 domains) alongside it and 35 run LifterLMS (2,304). None of these pairs passes our switching tests, because most domains ever seen with both still run both.

Expert Analysis: LearnPress Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

I expected LearnPress to look like a cheaper LearnDash. Its site list says otherwise. Ranked by LinkedIn following, the top of it is universities in Pakistan, Nigeria, Colombia, Ecuador and Kenya, with Kennesaw State and a Las Vegas school district among them. Underneath sits a large base of small training businesses. Our October 2026 crawl finds LearnPress on 13,905 live domains, 8,679 of them matched to a company, 4th of 60 in Learning Management (LMS) with 14.44%.
What the count measures
A domain counts when a page on it loads files from LearnPress's plugin folder, /wp-content/plugins/learnpress/. That is a clean signal. In a random sample of 100 live domains, 93 pages loaded and 86 carried the plugin's files on the homepage. The other seven were challenge pages, error pages or sites that no longer load it. The title census found no for-sale or gambling cluster worth removing: 15 domains came out, and the largest identical-title group is 13 domains carrying one sales-software company's title.
Themes matter more than they do for most plugins. ThimPress makes education themes as well as the plugin, and 20 of the 86 sampled homepages ran one: Eduma on 16, Coaching on 2, Ivy School and Course Builder on 1 each. Another 21 used education themes from other studios, such as Eikra, Educavo, eCademy and Edubin. Only 45 were on general-purpose themes like Astra or Avada. And 46 of the 86 homepages link straight to a course page; on the rest the courses sit deeper, or there are none in view.
Sales signal: a LearnPress site is often a theme purchase as much as a plugin choice. Theme vendors, Elementor add-on makers and education web agencies will find the buyer here, and asking which theme a site runs is a natural opener.
Flat since September
The chart reads 11,083 in June, 12,783 in July, 13,178 in August, 13,945 in September and 13,905 in October. I wouldn't call any of that growth. The domains we crawl turn over every month, with dead sites dropping out and new ones coming in, and our detection widens over time, so the earlier steps are partly our own coverage. The last month is flat. Since tracking began on 16 March 2026, 2,229 domains have dropped LearnPress on at least one hostname, and about 200 of those still run it on another hostname of the same domain.
"LearnPress's list reads like a map of campus portals. The names at the top of its list come from Colombia, Pakistan, Indonesia and Nigeria more often than from the United States." - Emma Davies, Data Analyst at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: treat LearnPress as a stable pool of about 14,000 domains. The opportunity is in its shape (schools, small trainers, emerging markets), not in its speed.
Schools on top, small trainers underneath
66.23% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 21.96% have 11 to 50. Only 95 have more than 1,000 staff. The large ones are institutions, and they often keep LearnPress off the main site: 27 of the 50 named companies run it on a subdomain. Kennesaw State University uses it for community and professional education, Areandina for a virtual campus, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria for its training school, and Clark County School District for its facility master plan site. By age they sit in the middle: 43.91% were founded in the 2010s and 26.8% in the 2020s, between LifterLMS (24.3% from the 2020s) and Tutor LMS (42.18%).
Sales signal: inside a university the LearnPress buyer is often one department, such as continuing education, a research office or a language centre. Pitch that team, not central IT.
India level with the United States
The United States has 1,158 matched companies and India 1,068. Spain (492), the United Kingdom (446), Brazil (322), Italy (307) and France (300) follow, with Nigeria (179), Mexico (162) and Colombia (160) inside the top 15. Compare LifterLMS, whose profile shows 467 American companies and 36 Indian ones, or LearnDash, whose profile has no India in its top eight. Industry fits the same picture. Professional Training and Coaching leads at 11.63%, and six education labels together cover 34.63% of matched companies.
Sales signal: for payment gateways, video hosting or SMS tools sold into Indian, Latin American or West African education, LearnPress sites are a better-qualified list than LearnDash's, because that is where LearnPress's companies are.
Moodle beside it, LearnDash above it
We publish no switching rows for LearnPress. Every pair failed our tests because most domains ever seen with both tools still run both. 194 LearnPress domains also run Moodle today, and in every one Moodle sits on a different hostname from LearnPress; 104 of the 141 we matched to a company carry an education label. The typical pair is a university with a public course site on WordPress and Moodle on another host. LearnDash, on 19,118 domains, shares only 36 domains with LearnPress today, Tutor LMS 33 and LifterLMS 35.
"Moodle and LearnPress don't compete on campus. In all 194 shared domains they sit on different hostnames, which tells me they do different jobs." - Emma Davies, Data Analyst at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: the 194 domains running both are mostly universities and schools with two learning systems to integrate. Single sign-on, enrolment sync and course-catalogue vendors should start there.
The stack around it
Across the 13,791 domains in our clean live set, WordPress is on 100%, as it must be. Elementor builds 66.73%, against 43.66% on LifterLMS's domains, and WPBakery 5.8%. Google Analytics runs on only 46.68%. Cloudflare fronts 18.59% and Hostinger's CDN serves 10.07%, and CookieYes (7.18%) is the most common consent banner.
Sales signal: fewer than half of these sites run Google Analytics, so analytics, SEO and site-care offers for small education sites have room here. Elementor is the builder on two in three LearnPress sites, so its add-on makers have the biggest audience here.
What it costs
ThimPress's pricing page (checked 15 October 2026) lists a Free plan with eight free add-ons, a Pro Bundle at $299 with every premium add-on, a one-site lifetime licence and 12 months of updates (renewing at $209.30), and single add-ons from $19. The same page claims more than 90,000 active installations. We can't see from a page which add-ons a site bought, so our count covers free and paid users together.
Sales signal: the core costs nothing and the paid options are add-ons and a $299 bundle, so a hosted-platform pitch that leads on price meets a very low baseline. Lead on what the free core lacks.
Key takeaways
1. 13,905 live domains, 4th of 60 in our category table.
2. About a quarter of sampled sites run a ThimPress theme, Eduma most of all.
3. Small and international: 66.23% have 10 or fewer staff, and India almost ties the United States.
4. Moodle runs beside LearnPress on 194 domains, always on a separate hostname.
5. Elementor on 66.73% and Google Analytics on under half.
