Companies Using Emma

Our October 2026 crawl finds Emma on 7,968 domains. Mostly that's a DNS record, e2ma-verification= followed by a code, which an organisation publishes to send Emma campaigns from its own domain; Emma's signup forms count too. When we checked 250 of them at random on 11 October, 235 carried the record and 15 showed only a form. So these are organisations with an Emma account, and the count is a floor. Below are the companies that use Emma, including Marriott, Honeywell, Thermo Fisher Scientific and the University of Michigan.

It's an American, institutional list. 6,364 of the 6,886 companies we matched are in the United States, non-profits (7.37%) and higher education (6.54%) are the two largest industries, and 62.4% of matched companies with a known founding year started before 2000. Emma is sold by Marigold, alongside Campaign Monitor, and ranks 18th of the 73 tools we track in Email Marketing, with 0.3%.

Emma Usage Statistics

How many organisations use Emma? Our count reads 6,367 domains in June 2026, 7,113 in July, 7,453 in August, 7,839 in September and 7,968 in October. Read the rise as coverage more than new accounts. The set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead domains dropping out and newly found ones added, and our detection widens over time; both push a count like this up. Exits are rare. 118 domains have lost the Emma signal since we began tracking it in March 2026, 1.48% of the October count, and about a fifth of those still carry it on another hostname. A verification record usually stays in DNS after the account closes, so that low number is the instrument, not loyalty.

List of Companies Using Emma

Who uses Emma? This list of companies using Emma names 50 of the 6,886 matched organisations, sorted by LinkedIn following, and each carried Emma's verification record or form when we checked on 11 October 2026. Universities take 27 of the 50 rows. The companies at the top, Marriott, Honeywell, Thermo Fisher Scientific and United Airlines, probably use Emma for one programme rather than all their marketing. Two rows carry the record only on a subdomain: Georgia Tech's professional education site and Providence's foundation. Emma customers further down are mostly small; 38.19% have ten or fewer staff.

Which Countries Use Emma the Most?

Which countries use Emma the most? The United States, with 6,364 of the 6,886 matched companies, 92.42%. Canada follows with 164, then South Africa (104), the United Kingdom (80) and Australia (28). South Africa is the surprise, and it isn't one reseller's fleet: all 40 South African domains we sampled carried their own Emma verification code, and they're mostly small, separate businesses. Continental Europe barely registers; France has 9 matched companies.

Emma Market Share Among Email Marketing

What is Emma's market share? 0.3% of Email Marketing, 18th of the 73 tools we track there, on 7,968 domains, based on our crawl at TechnologyChecker.io. MailChimp and Klaviyo (16.4%) sit at the top. The table mixes signals, though. Emma is counted mostly by a DNS record, while Constant Contact (39,248 domains, 1.48%) and its sister brand Campaign Monitor (6,825, 0.26%) are counted only by website forms and scripts. Read 0.3% as a floor, not a head-to-head score.

Emma Customers by Company Size & Age

What size companies use Emma? A wider spread than most email tools. 38.19% of matched companies with a known headcount have 1 to 10 employees, against 52.25% on Mailjet's profile, and 16.42% (1,116 of 6,797) have more than 200. 123 employ more than 10,000, among them Marriott, Honeywell, United Airlines and the University of Michigan. At that size Emma often runs across departments, which is what the subaccount plans on its pricing page are built for.

Company Size Distribution

Company Age (Founded Decade)

The largest founding band is pre-1960, at 23.43%, followed by the 2000s (18.55%) and the 2010s (15.48%). 62.4% of matched companies with a known founding year (2,850 of 4,567) started before 2000, and only 3.57% in the 2020s. That's the institutional buyer showing: universities, hospitals and long-running charities, with Yale (1701) and the University of Michigan (1817) among the oldest names on our list. A record that rarely gets deleted keeps older accounts on the list as well.

What Industries Use Emma the Most?

Non-profit organisations lead at 7.37%, then higher education (6.54%), real estate (5.24%), individual and family services (3.3%) and hospitals and health care (3.22%), based on our enriched company data. The top ten add up to 37.97%. The leaders match the sectors Emma's own site says it serves: nonprofits, higher education, sports and fitness (wellness and fitness is 3.01% here) and travel and hospitality (2.64%). Government, also on Emma's list, doesn't reach our top ten.

Universities using Emma take 27 of the 50 rows on our list, including the University of Michigan, Penn State, Texas A&M, NYU, Yale and Duke, whose IT office offers Emma to every department. Health systems on Emma include Ascension, SSM Health, Trinity Health and Providence, which carries the record on its foundation's subdomain. Real estate firms using Emma include Compass, and real estate is the third-largest industry, at 5.24%.

Emma Alternatives & Competitors

Emma's closest comparison is inside its own group. Campaign Monitor (6,825 domains, 0.26%) is a Marigold sister brand, not a rival, and Marigold aims the two at different buyers: Campaign Monitor at small businesses and agencies, Emma at higher education, nonprofits, franchises and growing businesses. Constant Contact (39,248 domains, 1.48%) is the outside rival nearest Emma's base, and its profile is also led by non-profits (10.27%). Brevo (155,628), MailerLite (139,298) and Klaviyo (434,162) are each more than 17 times Emma's count, based on our crawl.

Emma Customer Migration

Do organisations switch from Emma to Constant Contact? Hardly any that we can see. Since March 2026, 3 domains that dropped Emma run Constant Contact, and 2 of them still carry Emma on another hostname; 3 run Brevo, 2 MailChimp and 1 MailerLite. The other way, 16 domains lost a MailChimp signal while keeping Emma, but in 14 of those we'd seen both at once first, so most are a tidy-up rather than a move. These are domains, not companies, and the numbers are small.

Expert Analysis: Emma Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

Mehmet Suleyman
Mehmet SuleymanCEO & Co-founder, TechnologyChecker

Emma is one of the few email tools where the DNS tells you who the buyer is. When an organisation sets up its own domain to send Emma campaigns, it publishes a TXT record, e2ma-verification= followed by a code. Our October 2026 crawl finds Emma on 7,968 domains, and we matched 6,886 of the 8,019 in our clean live set to a company, an 85.87% match rate. For a list this size that's a high rate, and it says these are working organisations rather than parked or personal domains. The record dominates: in a random sample of 250 live domains checked on 11 October, 235 carried it, 39 showed an Emma signup form or script on the homepage, and 15 had the form alone.

What the record proves

The record proves an account with a verified sending domain. It doesn't prove current use. A TXT record stays in DNS after a contract ends, and an organisation sending from Emma's default domain never publishes one. The form-only rows are a different group: 12 of the 15 sit on .org domains, small nonprofits that embed Emma's signup form and never set up a sending domain.

Sales signal: treat 7,968 as a floor on organisations that took the trouble to authenticate their sending domain. That step usually involves an IT or communications office, which tells you who to call.

Growth trajectory

The chart reads 6,367 domains in June, 7,113 in July, 7,453 in August, 7,839 in September and 7,968 in October, a 25.15% rise in four months. I'd discount most of it. The set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead domains dropping out and new ones added, and our detection widens over time; both lift a count like this. Exits are rare. 118 domains have lost the Emma signal since we began tracking it in March 2026, 1.48% of the October count, and when I rechecked on 11 October, 25 of the 119 then counted still carried Emma on another hostname. A record nobody deletes produces exactly this picture.

"Emma's churn rate says more about DNS than about customers. A verification record outlives the contract, so this page will always look more loyal than the market is." - Mehmet Suleyman, CEO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io

Sales signal: don't pitch a booming or shrinking market. Pitch a stable, identifiable set of institutions, and check each domain's SPF record for a second sender before you assume Emma is still the main tool.

Who the customers are

Older and bigger than the usual email buyer. The largest founding band is pre-1960 (23.43%), and 62.4% of matched companies with a known founding year (2,850 of 4,567) started before 2000; only 3.57% date from the 2020s. Size runs the same way. 38.19% have ten or fewer staff, against 52.25% on Mailjet's profile, and 123 companies employ more than 10,000, 1.81% of those with a known headcount, against 0.4% on Mailjet's. The names explain it: universities such as Michigan, Penn State, Texas A&M, NYU and Yale, health systems such as Ascension and SSM Health, and companies such as Marriott, Honeywell, United Airlines and Cargill.

Some of these are campus-wide deployments rather than one department. Duke's IT office runs Emma as a service and strongly encourages departments to use it to email the Duke community, and duke.edu carries both the record and an Emma form. That fits Emma's pricing: Emma for Teams ($205 a month) and Emma Corporate (quoted) are built around subaccounts for departments and locations, while Emma Lite starts at $105.

Sales signal: at a university or health system on this list, the buyer is central marketing or IT and the users are dozens of departments. Tools that sit on top, accessibility checkers or CRM sync, sell to the central office once.

Industries and countries

Non-profit organisations lead at 7.37% (460 companies), then higher education (6.54%, 408), real estate (5.24%), individual and family services (3.3%) and hospitals and health care (3.22%). Those leaders match the sectors Emma's own site says it serves, higher ed, nonprofits, sports and fitness, and travel and hospitality, though government, also on that list, doesn't reach our top ten. Geography is narrow. 6,364 of 6,886 matched companies are American (92.42%), Canada has 164, and South Africa is third with 104, ahead of the United Kingdom (80). I checked whether the South African rows were one reseller's fleet. They aren't: all 40 we sampled carried their own verification code.

Sales signal: vertical messaging wins here. An alumni platform or an enrolment product will find qualified rows; a campaign aimed at Europe won't, with France on 9 companies.

Sister brands and switching

Emma ranks 18th of 73 in Email Marketing with 0.3%. Klaviyo (434,162 domains) and Brevo (155,628) are far larger, but the closer comparison is Campaign Monitor. Both belong to Marigold, whose about page lists Campaign Monitor, Emma and Vuture as its products, and whose homepage says its enterprise products have been acquired by Zeta Global. Campaign Monitor has 6,825 domains to Emma's 7,968, but we count Campaign Monitor only through website forms, so the two numbers aren't like for like. Its profile is led by the United Kingdom (1,339 companies); Emma's by the United States.

Switching is close to empty. Since March, 16 domains lost a MailChimp signal while carrying Emma, and in 14 of them we'd seen both tools at once first. Going the other way, 3 domains dropped Emma and run Constant Contact, 2 of which still carry Emma on another hostname, and 3 run Brevo. Nine exits in seven months isn't a corridor.

"Nobody is leaving Emma in a way DNS can see. The useful signal runs the other way: which institutions add a second sender's record next to Emma's." - Mehmet Suleyman, CEO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io

Sales signal: rival senders should watch for a second SPF include or verification record on an Emma domain. That's the earliest sign a department is trialling something else.

The stack around it

Percentages here are of the 8,019 live domains in our clean set. Google Analytics runs on 82.45%, Microsoft 365 handles mail on 38.97% and Google Workspace on 27.15%. WordPress builds 45.19% of the sites and Drupal 4.6%, about twice its rate on Mailjet's domains (2.25%), which is the university effect. In CRM, Salesforce is on 6.43% and Slate, the admissions CRM, on 1.28%; Jonas Club Software, which runs private clubs, is on 0.82%.

Sales signal: a Salesforce or Slate connector is the integration this base asks for. An Emma domain with Slate is an admissions office, and that's a short, specific list.

Key takeaways

1. 7,968 domains carry Emma in October 2026, a floor on accounts, with 6,886 matched to a company.

2. American and institutional: 92.42% of matched companies are in the US, and non-profits and higher education lead.

3. Old and large for an email tool: 62.4% founded before 2000, 123 companies with more than 10,000 staff.

4. Churn of 1.48% is the instrument, and switching amounts to nine exits.

5. Campaign Monitor is a sister brand, not a rival, and we measure it differently.

How to use this list

Filter to higher education and non-profits in the United States, then split by size: the 1,116 companies with more than 200 staff are where Teams and Corporate subaccounts make sense. A first line for an accessibility or template vendor: "Your university sends Emma campaigns from its own domain, so dozens of departments share one brand; here's how other campuses keep every send accessible." For the full list of 7,968 Emma domains with company, size and stack data, explore TechnologyChecker.io.

Named customers include Marriott, Honeywell, Thermo Fisher Scientific, United Airlines, the University of Michigan, Yale and Duke, whose IT office offers Emma to its departments.

How many customers does Emma have?

We count 7,968 domains in October 2026, 6,886 of them matched to a company. Most carry Emma's e2ma-verification record, which an organisation adds to send from its own domain, and a smaller group shows only an Emma signup form. That makes the count a floor: an organisation sending from Emma's default domain, with no form on its site, doesn't show up.

What is Emma's market share?

0.3% of Email Marketing, 18th of the 73 tools we track there, on 7,968 domains. MailChimp and Klaviyo (16.4%) lead it. Treat the share with care: Emma is counted mainly through a DNS record, while Constant Contact (1.48%) and Campaign Monitor (0.26%) are counted only through website forms and scripts, so the table doesn't measure every tool the same way.

What are the best alternatives to Emma?

Constant Contact is the outside rival closest to Emma's buyer, and its profile is led by non-profits too. Campaign Monitor is a sister brand under Marigold, aimed at small businesses and agencies. Brevo, MailerLite, MailChimp and Klaviyo are larger general tools. Our data shows almost no movement: since March, only 3 domains dropped Emma and now run Constant Contact.

Which countries use Emma the most?

The United States, by far: 6,364 of the 6,886 companies we matched, or 92.42%. Canada is second with 164, then South Africa (104), the United Kingdom (80) and Australia (28). The South African group is many separate accounts, not one reseller, because all 40 South African domains we sampled carried their own verification code. France has 9 matched companies.

What size companies use Emma?

A wider spread than most email tools. 38.19% of matched companies with a known headcount have 1 to 10 employees and 30.01% have 11 to 50, but 16.42% (1,116 of 6,797) have more than 200 and 123 employ more than 10,000. Mailjet's profile, by contrast, puts 52.25% at ten or fewer. Large universities and health systems make up much of that upper end.

How old are companies that use Emma?

Older than most. The largest group was founded before 1960 (23.43%), then the 2000s (18.55%) and the 2010s (15.48%). 62.4% of matched companies with a known founding year (2,850 of 4,567) started before 2000, and only 3.57% in the 2020s. Universities and hospitals explain much of it, and so does a DNS record that rarely gets deleted.

What is Emma email marketing?

Emma is an email marketing platform, sold by Marigold, for organisations that send from many departments or locations under one brand. Its pricing page sells shared templates, approvals and subaccounts, and Marigold aims it at higher education, nonprofits, franchises and growing businesses. Our data agrees: non-profits and higher education are the two largest industries among 6,886 matched Emma companies.

How much does Myemma cost per month?

Emma's pricing page lists Emma Lite at $105 a month and Emma for Teams at $205 a month, with 25 users and five or more subaccounts. Emma Corporate, for ten or more subaccounts and unlimited users, is quoted, and lists above 10,000 contacts get a custom quote too. There's no free plan on the page. Checked 11 October 2026.

Who owns Emma software?

Marigold. Its about page lists three products, Campaign Monitor, Emma and Vuture, built for small to mid-sized organisations, and its homepage says Marigold's enterprise products have been acquired by Zeta Global. That leaves Emma and Campaign Monitor as sister brands. In our data they look different: Emma's base is 92.42% American, while Campaign Monitor's profile is led by the United Kingdom.

Is Emma the same as Campaign Monitor?

No. Both are Marigold products, but they're separate platforms aimed at different buyers: Marigold pitches Campaign Monitor at small businesses and agencies, and Emma at higher education, nonprofits and franchises. We count them differently too. Emma shows up mostly through a DNS record, on 7,968 domains; Campaign Monitor only through website forms, on 6,825. Compare the two counts loosely.

Is Emma a CMS?

No. Emma sends email; it doesn't build or host a website. The website usually runs on something else: WordPress builds 45.19% of the 8,019 Emma domains in our clean set, Elementor 10.61%, Squarespace 5.75% and Drupal 4.6%. Emma connects to those sites through its signup forms, which showed on 39 of the 250 Emma domains we sampled.

Do universities use Emma?

Yes, heavily. Higher education is the second-largest industry among matched Emma companies, at 6.54% (408), and universities fill 27 of the 50 rows on our list, including Michigan, Penn State, Texas A&M, NYU and Yale. Some run it campus-wide: Duke's IT office offers Emma to departments and strongly encourages them to use it for email to the Duke community.

Do nonprofits use Emma?

Yes. Non-profit organisations are Emma's largest industry in our data, 460 matched companies or 7.37%, and individual and family services add another 206 (3.3%). Small nonprofits also make up most of the domains we found through an Emma signup form alone: 12 of the 15 in our sample sit on .org domains. Marigold lists nonprofits among the buyers Emma is built for.
